Grouping dishes

is there a way to automatically group the same dishes so they dont take up too many counters?

or maybe to manually do it?

You have to have no counters empty, and serve a dish that isn't on a counter already. Then you'll see a message that the chef has combined all like items onto one counter, and your food will go on an empty counter.

It'll combine all like foods onto a single counter. You can't control which counters are combined.

There have actually been quite a few requests to be able to do it manually. Once TL get everything else fixed up (eg. gifting:p), would they consider it?

We can forward this suggestion to the development team again, but it's unlikely, since there are so many other things they are currently working on.

i already knew all that... i was just hoping there was some secret way to move dishes so i could change colors of my counters without deleting the food :/

Well, we get this feature in Fashion - to choose where the items go - but here's the catch: customers buy less when there are less full racks and counters. I still have over 10,000 of the red bodices.

I would like to change the color of my counters also. It seems like this should be a priority since designing the restaurant is a major component of the game. I have almost 12k fish and chips on a counter that I no longer want creating an eyesore compared to the way the rest of my restaurant looks.

I have it too,I've changed the theme of my Restaurent and I would love all my counters to be the same.
I don't really want to lose so much food.I wish we could move existing food to a new counter,by just switching the food/drinks.I'd like different sections in my Restaurent,with the food to match its hard because the food often goes where you don't want it to.

yeah. i think that the food should appear on the closest open counter and that similar foods should be automatically put onto the same counter (not separated and only coming together when the "chef" runs out of space)

At the beginning of the year, food was placed on the counters in the order the counters were placed on the floor. Haven't checked lately, so not sure if that's still true.

You can control the counter the served food is placed on to some extent. If you have no free counters when you serve, the food will be placed on the latest counter to hold that food type. If you put out a new counter, the food will go to that counter until you put out another counter. Then the food will be placed on the new counter.
