Wouldn't you just love to be a pet cat or dog in a good home? You get free food, water, love, shelter, health care and all you have to do is nap or play any time you want. No job. No stress. No family drama. No commute to anywhere. No financial challenges. You don't even have to clean up after yourself. I envy Henri. :p

viviansmo

...No stress...
my pampered spoiled house kitties have lots of stress.

They stress over who gets to sleep in the top spot of the cat tower. And family drama... they fight over it! Usually the 14 lb kitty (she's lost two pounds... see a couple sentences down for why!) wins.

They stress out over the fact that the patio door is closed when I'm not home and they can't go out and chase the birdies.

They stress out even more that *gasp!* *the horror!* they can see the bottom of their food dishes far too often.

I would so very much love to come back to life as a loved and pampered house cat.

Yes. Yes it does. I'm sure I read somewhere that coke contains animals. ;)

I just now Googled "does coke contain..." meaning to finish with "animals" and "pork" was one of the search suggestions that popped up before I finished typing. So I searched that and apparently there's an urban legend out there about Coke containing trace elements of pork. Coca Cola even has a page on their website responding to it. Coca Cola responds to pork rumor (http://www.thecoca-colacompany.com/contactus/myths_rumors/packaging_pork.html)

Got a call just now. Whoever was calling dialed the wrong number but it took 4 calls from her to get her to clue in.

The first time I answered and she started talking in Thai so I told her in Thai that I couldn't speak Thai. She continued so I repeated in English. She didn't get it so finally hung up on her. Two seconds later she calls again same routine. I hung up on her again. Two seconds later she calls back again so this time I started talking to her in my limited French - Je me peu Parlez vous Thai etc) this time she hung up on me and I'm thinking yeah. Nope 2 seconds later she calls back again so I answer and didnt even give her a chance to start talking, I shout really loud (not angry voice just loud) and I think she finally clued in cause she hung up and hasn't called back. The first few times ok, I nicely told her in Thai (and I know my pronunciation is good with that sentence. I've never had problems before with Thais not understanding) and English I don't speak Thai. But after the third and fourth time I was getting a little annoyed.

I'm also grumpy cause I've been stuck in the hotel room all day on my last day in Krabi cause it's been pouring down rain all day :-(

Finally quit city story and nightclub as I was bored of them. City I was finished expansions and contracts and don't really like redecorating on that one. Nightclub I quit cause the updates are never any good and it became boring.

I also quit Pet Shop and Zoo 2. Too time consuming even with not visiting neighbors shops. I found the more animals you got the more time it took to collect from them and then 'feed them'.

It'll be nice just playing five of the story games. I won't be up so late with them now :-)

How do you know that for sure????

Anyway, I had quite an adventure in mattressing today.

Since my old bed consisted of a "box spring" which was really two crib bedsprings laid side by side and two mattresses from the Eisenhower administration, I'd been looking for new bedroom set. The local bargain store had a queen size memory foam set for $450. But how to haul it? The farm truck has a gas tank in the bed and the tailgate is about to fall off. So, I got my sister and her husband to bring down their huge pickup. Well, when tried to put the new box spring in turns out it wouldn't fit (wheel wells and cap in the way) and the guy at the store suggested we put it on the top. But no rack on the top.

But wait! The Hyundai SUV has a rack! So we take the mattress home(it fits, because it will scrunch a bit), gather up some tie-downs (ones big enough to haul a tractor with, and return to the store. Just as I turn in, it resumes pouring down rain! Fortunately, the box spring IS in plastic, and in a break in the downpour, my brother-in-law and I manage to secure the box spring to the roof rack. By now the rain has resumed and at every stop, the water that has gathered on top slides down on the windshield scaring the bejeezes out of me.

But now, my new bed is all set-up and oooohhhhh so comfortable. I think I'll finally be able to sleep on my back!!!

There's a stick of like..........clay, two colors green and white. You mix it together until it starts to get warm, then you stick it on the thing you want to fix and hold it together and eventually it turns white and cures and sticks them together.

I probably failed my Final, but WHATEVER! All my quizzes were 100's with one 90. My mid-term was an 84 and my 2 projects were a 95 and 100 respectively. If I bombed the Final exam like I think I did, the worse that will happen is I'll have a high C or low B. Plus I got 3 extra credit points too.

I HATE THIS CLASS. I'm so glad I'm done with it!

Business Finance and this Final was on the chapters covering Stock, Bonds, Annuity's, Cost of Capital, Budgeting Decisions, and etc....The formula's were so confusing, the questions were very tricky and could have gone either way for the True/False, and the Multiple Choices didn't seem to make much sense.

In other words, this whole Final consisted of the things I hate most about Finance, and things I would NEVER do and had NEVER done in my old Accounting job. This stuff and Taxes are the things I avoid like the plague, and both were covered on this Final.

When I say I failed, believe me, I failed. I'll be lucky to get away with a 50 on this. It's over, it's done with, I'm having a few beers and just enjoying knowing I don't have to open this darn book ever again. Ahhhhh, such is life. :)

LMAO!! My mother does her own taxes too, and she's always worked in Billing. I refuse to touch my taxes, and for 10 years I worked in Accounts Payable. Talk about total opposites! I pay a CPA $100 to do our taxes every year, and I'm dreading when he decides to stop. He actually retired from his company and just does them on the side for his favorite clients, but my hubby said that within a few years the guy will either have stopped, or died. He's very old now, but very very good. I dread the day I'll have to start doing my own taxes, but I think that day is coming sooner than I'd like.

Love the sign pinkster, it's perfect!

I was going through my photobucket and deleting albums and pics that were unnecessary and just wasting space, and I found these. Figured I'd share.

I took this years ago when I was out doing Fall Foliage pics. I actually had this one blown up and framed and gave it to my parents as a gift for xmas that year.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/queentina3/Personal/Fall%20Foliage/HarvastMoon.jpg

Same as the above but I framed and gave it to my sister. She still has it on her wall above her couch, it's her favorite picture. Mt Monadnock is hiding behind the cloud in the background. LOL

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/queentina3/Personal/Fall%20Foliage/MtMonadnock.jpg

These were the pumpkins the boys had helped my husband do that year. He did most of the work considering they were only 3 & 5 at the time, but all had a blast. Well not all, I had to clean up their mess, but the end result was worth it, IMO.

Most likely I got a 62 and the 72 was because she gave a 10 point curve or something. I know I wasn't the only one in the class that was having issues with this whole section. It was kind of funny looking around the class at times and seeing blank stares, so I bet she had to add a curve. I'm sure they'll mail the Final Exam back to us at some point, then I'll see, as the grade before the curve will be what she'd have written on it, whereas with the curve is what she'd place in Blackboard.

I'm just glad the class is done! :p

viviansmo
05-11-12, 03:31 PM
I agree with pinkster. I never really understood curves. and if everyone is doing so badly in a class that the teacher feels like they *need* to grade on a curve, then maybe that teacher (or their higher-ups) should take a look at why the teacher failed to teach.

queentina3
05-11-12, 04:09 PM
LOL, it she did give us a curve I'm not about to complain. :p I can't see any other way I would've received a 72, as I know there were quite a few questions I had to guess on as my answer didn't match any that she had listed under the multiple choice, so obviously I was using the wrong formula. I had tried every single one, and still couldn't get the right answer, so I guessed and picked the number that came close to what my calculator was giving me. Whenever I have to do that, I guess wrong, so I'm making an assumption that she used a curve and I bet I'm right.

I can see your point though, about there not being a curve, but I'm going to take it if it was given. :)

I guess it depends on the context.....

Regarding curves.....I don't think there should be curves in high school, you just supposed to be learning the basics, and the teachers only have to teach, but in higher college courses, they are needed because their are some profs who are more interested in research than teaching.

I agree on both points. Although I'd never take offfence to someone telling me my manners were bad. My favorite saying to the hubby and kids as of late is "you didn't grow up in a barn, shut the darn door!". They keep leaving the backdoor slightly open and the cats keep trying to sneak out. grrrrr

And to add to the curve discussion, one of the reasons I'm glad she added one is because she would start to explain or discuss something, but then go off on a tangent about how this or that happened with a client of hers. She used to work for Morgan Stanley and similar type companies, but now she is an independent contractor so would use stories about something that she did in her daily job would apply to what she was teaching. The problem is, she wouldn't explain how she got there, just what she did and it didn't always have to do with what we were covering, hence just confused us more. *shrugs*

I'm still a little shocked over the curving down, that is just so not right.

viviansmo
05-12-12, 07:28 AM
Actually, curving down makes just as much sense as curving up, IF the goal is to differentiate best from not-the-best.

But I still think curving only makes sense in subjective areas like theory or research. Facts is facts and if there is just one right answer, then curving doesn't make sense at all, to me.

I'm still a little shocked over the curving down, that is just so not right.

Finally did it after thinking and thinking about it. Decided to change the way I play the story games. I am now going to visit all nbrs and gift daily but I'm only going to post on weekends (I'll of course respond to any questions on my wall through the week).

It just takes to long through the week even with only posting on nbrs walls that have posted on mine (minus a few exceptions where I'll post anyways regardless wether they posted or not). I start playing the games at 6pm and usually finish between 10:30/11:00 pm. If nbrs choose to delete me for not posting through the week then I understand but this is the way I'm playing from now on.

It was either that or quit. I was finding by the time I got to my third game I had had enough and was tired and bored of playing. I like the games and want to continue playing and visiting nbrs daily but I want to be able to finish earlier so I can do other things in the evenings besides play the games all night. I'm hoping this will make the games more enjoyable. And this doesn't include not chatting through the week. I enjoy chatting with nbrs, that part is fun. It's just the regular 'tipped' etc posts I'm talking about.

queentina3
05-14-12, 09:48 AM
Good plan. I'm feeling that pain right now, since I'm so busy with kids stuff going on. This coming weekend I'm really swamped starting Friday AM through to Sunday. I may have a few hours on Saturday night, but that is about it. Most likely nobody will be watered/tipped and I'll probably have to put 1 or 2 day items out in most of my games.

My whatever for the day:

I'm tired. My feet, knees and back are sore. My ankles are swollen. I have a migraine from all the kids screeching at the book store, and no amount of aspirin is curing it. I'm just thankful I only had the morning shift today, as I'm not sure I would've lasted if I had to do a whole day shift.

My youngest is happy though, I got him the rest of the "diary of a wimpy kid" series, plus I picked up 2 neat books for myself. I'm sure the hubby will be oh so pleased, NOT.

I so know how you feel. I teach grade 2 students (last school year grade 2 and 3) and there are days I come home with aching feet (today a blister on my heel from shoes I haven't worn in a month and a half), aching lower back from being on my feet all day and sometimes a headache (though parentamol usually gets rid of that). But I don't have morning shifts. Mines an all day shift but I love teaching so wouldn't change that part for anything.

I just quit bakery story over the weekend. I can't keep up with all the tipping back unfortunately. :( Plus I have enough food in bakery story to last another 10 years at the slow rate theyre selling. I have no where left for counters and more food.
So now i'm only playing farm and restaurant. Much less neighbours. Much more manageable.

As my aunt always says, "Drink more water!" :) it's her cure for everything that ails you.

Sourlicorice, i tried that and lost some neighbours...apparently they thought I wasn't watering at all because either i fell off their newsfeed before they went into their game or they didn't check their newsfeed and i didn't post on their walls. Oh well...one less neighbour isn't a biggie :p

I know that may happen but like you said lol one less nbr to tip/water/like. After this long they should know me enough by now to know that I always visit daily and if I have to miss a day or 2 I always post it. If they choose to delete me then it's their loss of a daily tipper/waterer/liker.

I copy/paste my message which cuts down on the wall time, and I'll continue to do that, although I sometimes (albeit rarely) feel a twinge of guilt about not posting something more personal. But I don't water every single neighbor every day. I don't have time. I do get to around 80% of my neighbors each day, and usually at least the ones who post on my wall... which means I may not get to you as often, sourlicorice2, but then I go through my neighbor list after the wall posts, and I do know which ones tend to water every day and get them next, so I won't forget you. :) And I won't delete you as long as I know you're still playing.

Facebook is evil in my opinion. Everyone that I know personally that's on it - they're either game addicts (worst the us TL folk lol), or high school drama queens all over again. I like the sharing pics part, but there are lots of sites I can use to do that. So no Facebook for me :)

I don't even use my facebook, hardly ever log onto it, but I did sign up last Fall and my oldest son added me right away. He had been refusing to add my mother for 6+ months, so as soon as he added me I called her and was like "nanananana hahahaha, he added me and not you". :p

Needless to say, she called him up in Bermuda and told him he better add her ASAP or she wouldn't UPS the new hard drive they purchased him for his computer. He was none to pleased with me. It wasn't like she wouldn't have been able to tell, really, all she had to do was go to my facebook page and see who else I had under "Family" and BAM, he'd be there. She was going to find out within 24 hours of him adding me. LOL

She ever more mad when she noticed my niece added me and still was refusing her invite. My poor mother.......................:)

That's one thing that does drive me nuts is when friends kept sending me game invites. I kept telling them I don't play Facebook games. I finally had to go into settings and set it to block all game invites. I am now blessedly free of game invites on facebook. I don't have a problem with drama queen issues lol. All my friends are adults. I am not on it much. Just to post pics and message friends now and then.

I've got tons of pictures on mine. My friends and family were always asking me to send pictures of Thailand but emailing them took forever. Ok different whatever here. My parents are really annoying me. They are both snoring on the couch and chair and refuse to go to their bed. We have to be up in 5 hrs, they're already asleep, and even though I've woken them up 3 times to go to their bed, they just say "yeah in a minute" and go right back to sleep again!!! They are just as bad as my 10 yr old with getting him out of bed to school in the AMs.

Oh, and their dog won't leave me alone. Keeps jumping up on me, drooling, and licking me. I want to go home. LOL

Lol kids say the funniest things

I am teaching P4 Health to Thai kids which English is not their first language. The topic was physical development (changes that happen to the body as you grow to a teenager). I was discussing the different changes girls and boys go through and first they thought it was hilarious when I said both girls and boys would grow armpit hair and they laughed even harder when I said they'd grow hair in the nether regions (I didn't say it like that. It would have gone over their heads lol). Then I mentioned the girls bodies would get curvier and of course one of the boys whose English is quite good started laughing and piped up 'Teacher , yes girls will get curvier everywhere' while indicating the girls top parts if you get my drift. It was all I could do to keep a straight face and hush him as well as indicating he was in a way correct that girls would develop up there as well (and yes I used the actual name but don't know if it would be considered forum appropriate to say it here). The class of course all burst out laughing after that. It is my first time teaching health. I usually teach grade 2 and 3 English but this year there are 3 grade 2 classes so I'm only teaching grade 2 English this year. It would have been to much teaching 3 grade 2 classes and 2 grade 3 classes everyday. Health is only once a week.I'm also teaching grade 3 health but slightly different topics and info I have to teach.

It went down for almost 3 hours. I phoned the phone company that I get internet access for my ipad earlier. It came back on for one hour and now its down again, and now it's too late to call the phone company as they are closed. I'll have to wait till the morning. My evening stinks. I'm bored and have nothing to do. Go to the doctors. I had the same thing though not quite as bad but it was just getting worse. Doctor cut part of the toenail off so it could drain. Had to go everyday to have it cleaned but it got better and didn't grow back all funny.

Also if you see your toe is getting infected soak it in as hot water as you can stand with seltzer salts. I wasn't able to do that the last time cause I'm in Thailand and can't find seltzer (I hope I got that name right lol) salts anywhere.

I used to just cut part of my own toenail off so it could drain (not recommended in your case. I didn't know you could create shortcuts in the keyboard section in settings. Going to be so much easier. I only posted a w in farm today cause I didn't feel like copying and pasting the slower way. Going to test it out on your wall pinkster. Please let me know if you can see it since your on android. I think you should be able to. I didn't use any emoji.

Yes I can see your message no problem.

A tornado touched down 30 minutes from me, and we are still under a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado alert. We had no cable and wifi for an hour already.

Needless to say I didn't see the Venus thingee.
