Well yet again there is a sushi bar , some Halloween items , collectibles , and the ability to buy more appliance slots . who knows when android users will get these things . It seems TL count androind users as second rate . The excuse to the paying customers is since the story games are new to the platform so please bare with us . This excuse gets old over time TL should understand that .
So if your an unhappy customer refuse to buy the product til they fix what is not liked other wise sit and wait .
I know the story games are free , but we all know that we pay more than any game on the market threw gem purchases .
I stopped buying gems with the months late constructible appliances and won't again until the two platforms are on the same footing or, maybe, after Android has all of the iOS stuff AND a feature or two they don't... Until then TL gets none of my money and as many well earned bad reviews as I can give 'em on the Android marketplace.
I haven't bought gems in about a month and the late Android updates are just one of my reasons for that decision (coughcough*confirmation button*coughcough ) .

Me too. Haven't spent my money and will not either. I'll spend my money when I stop getting treated like second rate just cuz i have android.

And I will continue to give the games poor ratings in the market too :)
Being an Android user and second rate customer to Team Lava I will not buy anymore gems until (1) I am treated as an equal (2) they confirm any gem purchases so gems arent spent by mistake.

I first played RS on my iPhone, then got a Android tablet and transferred it, but due to the lack of Android updates, I transferred it back to my iPhone again. Really to bad as playing on a tablet is much nicer, but having the easy appliances and better updates is worth the smaller screen on the iPhone.

Okay, first of all: Andriod and Apple have the same Halloween items, we both have gifts. Second, the collectibles & Sushi Bar were realeased on Friday, and with an APP STORE UPDATE! So, that just leaves the appliance slots. Matter of fact, the appliance slots were the last APP STORE UPDATE! So, Android & Apple have the smae weekly updates! For all you Andriodies know, TL could have an update being revewied in the Driod market currently.
In the mean time, you guys still have the Drink Machine & the weekly updates which is a heck of a lot better than what was going on during the spring!

I dont think this is really necessary but of course I wont tell you what to do or not do.
I mean, yeah Im not happy with the situation for us droids, but yes, Im still enjoying this games and I know you are too.
The games can and should improve but giving it bad reviews could make people miss out on this great games.
Off course we are all free to do as we please, but Lets give TL some time... in the meanwhile lets enjoy what we have.

Or they could not. TL hasn't said this. So you don't know that and neither do Android users.

Here's the list I came up with based on recent posts. I didn't pay attention to posts for games other than Farm, Restaurant, and Bakery. And based on past history, its hard to believe that there will an update in the Android Market. Not even for the badges released over 2 weeks ago that supposedly was intended to be released at the same time as iDevice and wasn't.
no badges (released to iDevice 9/13)
no collectables (released to iDevice 9/30)
no sushi counter in RS (released to iDevice 9/30)
cannot unlock extra appliances in RS/BS (released to iDevice in early Aug)
cannot see parts in My Gifts in RS/BS (released to iDevice 9/30)
did not get gifting fix update on Friday (released to iDevice 9/30)
did not get dancing water turned off on Farm (released to iDevice 9/30)
no lemon lime soda still in RS (released to iDevice early June)
neighbor list in Android is fixed, but is rearranged based on who was last gifted/watered (?) (fixed for iDevice 9/30)

We are planning a release in the Android Market that does, in fact, include many of these updates. However, I can't speculate on when this will be ready, as this is still being worked on.

And by the time that incomplete (and likely untested) release hits the Android market in a week or three (or maybe more) you'll put one on the Apple marketplace with a whole slew of new features that Android users won't see for weeks or months again.
Will the two platforms ever have the exact same feature set? No. Android will always be behind, as proven by history.
Will there ever be a day when Android will get features at the same time as iOS? No. Again, as proven by history.
Will Android ever get a feature before iOS? ROFL. You've gotta be kidding me...

Might as well just take the game off the android market! Cuz its always gonna be like this I doubt it'll change. I'd rather have a game that's up-to-date and functioning correctly than a buggy, backed up, no-update-getting, game with favoritism towards another platform.

I just don't understand how this has become a personal slight against android users. When a new phone or device is released exclusively to a certain carrier, like the iPhone and AT&T first, did all non-AT&T users feel like second rate citizens? When McDonalds gets marketing supplies, like Harry potter movie stuff etc, do all the Burger King customers get upset and feel discriminated against? ******* seeing the movie?
If you are a Mac user, how many countless times have you discovered that the software or hardware you wanted to buy wasn't compatible and was only available to PC users? I hardly think Mac users personalized the issue, probably felt frustrated, but also recognized the huge difference in developing two separate versions. This is not a personal issue. Be frustrated, but be reasonable. The android app market is quite new and still developing. I agree with GMs comment about there not being a magical convert to android button. I'm sorry but every device has limitations associated with them. This is not discrimination people-- Last time I checked the I-devices were available to everyone.

So are androids. Ppl can choose what devices they want to play from. But the game shouldn't have been released on android market knowing this was gonna happen. U don't turn in an unfinished, piecey, vague report in to ur boss do u? No. Same concept with games. Don't make available a game that is not stable or finished or fully functioning.

I think a better analogy would be if you walked into McDonalds, and the kids in there were playing with Harry Potter happy meal toys that were just released. You order a happy meal for your kid, but get a Pocohontas toy. Your kid wants the Harry Potter toy but you are told that the Harry Potter toys are for the people who live west of the McDonald's, and you bought a house in the new development east of the McDonalds. You are told they were working on ordering more Harry Potter toys for the people in your neighborhood, but they couldn't speculate on when they would come in.
And when you buy software, it will tell you the specifications - Mac and/or PC, processor speed, memory, etc. Say a Mac user bought software that said it ran on both a PC and Mac, for the same price. When he/she went home to run it, he/she found out it didn't have all of the same features that he saw on his/her neighbor's PC. And when he/she went back to the store, found out that the Mac version was a dumbed down version of the PC version, and will always be.
I think these analogies are a little closer to the iDevice vs Android update issues.

Those analogies are PERFECT
Those analogies are PERFECT
Except in those cases you are paying (happy meal/software), TL games are FREE to play.
buying stuff with real money is optional.
Buying stuff with real money is optional in TL games is what I mean.

The problem is that the games are so boring cuz of the missing updates that one almost feels compelled to buy gems to liven it up.

*There's still an assumption in the "perfect" happy meal analogy that the toys are the same. A program for iOS and another for android are not the same. These aren't the same toys and there's not just an order in for more of the same toys. It's like the "same" games for the wii, xbox, and playstation. They share many games but they are wii versions, xbox versions...and much of the time have different orextra features (like rockband or GH songs for example). My Facebook app for my iPhone has limited features when compared to my laptop version. Its still Facebook but it runs on a different system. *Mobile vs full versions.*So theres android and ios versions of TL games. Im pretty sure TL hasnt said otherwise.*
**Granted, I get my apps from the iOS app store so I can't say there hasn't been any false advertising in your app store for the games, but you don't download my app to your droid, or vice versa, so why expect them to have exactly the same features? I've heard that droid users don't have to trick their devices into immediately planting crops by visiting a neighbor etc like iOS does, but that doesn't make me feel like I'm second rate. I downloaded an app that required retina display the other day (I have a 3GS still, no iPhone 4), and I couldn't even open the app--so I deleted it and found something that did work on my phone. Lots of new apps have features for the retina display that I can't take advantage of, so I ignore those features and if I'm not satisfied with it, I don't use the app anymore or at all. *
**Regardless, its not a matter of criticizing your frustration or invalidating your complaints about the apps features on your device, if you are unsatisfied with the games by all means, voice your opinion and be heard! But leave iOS out of it. It's not like gems or items are lower in price for iOS users. That would be in line with your argument focus.*And tell me, when exactly did you buy a sushi counter and it failed to run in your store bc its made only for iOS, and you were told it would run on both? I thought the problem was they weren't available to spend $ on, not that you've spent $ and are still waiting for that feature?
**This isn't a war between android and iOS. Its an issue between android and TL; so comparing the 2 platforms and the rate things get released is unnecessary and distracting. *The real issue is that android users want more features-period. Not-- he/she got their's first and it's better than mine.*
pinkster73
10-03-11, 11:34 PM
* Android does have to do that trick to get crops planted, plowed, harvested faster too.

canacanacana,
We could continue to shoot holes in each other's analogies, but that's not productive.
Android users want the same features released to both platforms at the same time, not 2 to 4+ months later as we have seen in the past with all new features. I don't find these threads unnecessary and distracting; those who do can choose to not read them.

If u don't like them don't read them. The point still remains that u don't put an app on the market that isn't fully and equally functioning on all specified platforms. U don't get ur content 4+ months late with sorry excuse to follow. U get urs constantly so of course u don't understand. u don't put unfinished product in the market for ppl to obtain period.

no badges (released to iDevice 9/13 in my opinion, useless, some players were done in a matter of few weeks, does not count the tasks you have done before these came out, only you can see your own badges)
no collectables (released to iDevice 9/30 but buggy)
no sushi counter in RS (released to iDevice 9/30)
cannot unlock extra appliances in RS/BS (released to iDevice in early Aug)
cannot see parts in My Gifts in RS/BS (released to iDevice 9/30)
did not get gifting fix update on Friday (released to iDevice 9/30 what kind of fix?)
did not get dancing water turned off on Farm (released to iDevice 9/30, some of us would like this back, or at least get the option to turn it on or off)
no lemon lime soda still in RS (released to iDevice early June)
neighbor list in Android is fixed, but is rearranged based on who was last gifted/watered (?) (fixed for iDevice 9/30 - not sure what was fixed?)

I think Android should have all the features, even the ones you don't think we should have.
badges - while some may find these useless, that Android users should still have the option to do them or not.
collectables - do you recall getting anything released to you that wasn't buggy? If Android users were only entitled to features that were released to iDevice bug-free, we wouldn't have a game. Don't worry, when Android gets the collectables, history shows we'll have a buggy release also.
gifting fix update on Friday - like the collectables, gifting was released with a lot of bugs. iDevice got an update to fix some of the gifting problems. Android did not and still has the same problems. On this one I wish that iDevice got the new gifting changes and Android got to keep the old way.
dancing waters - based on a poll, most users wanted dancing waters removed. Some people quit the game because they made them sick. While some iDevice users may want dancing waters back, I'll bet most are happy they are gone.
neighbor list in Android is fixed - bad choice of words. In Android our neighbor list is alphabetical, no matter what we do. From what I read, on iDevice the last neighbor is remembered and the order of the neighbor list changes to be more convenient for visiting the next neighbor.

I GUESS what canacanacana meant was -- stop pointing to iDevice users on android user's frustrations...... I think she meant - if u want somethng, dont use the name of others (iDevice) to vent out what u dont have........ It's like shouting--- ANDROID PLAYERS WANTS THE LATEST UPDATES!!! Without adding -- "just like IDevice users have!"......
Altho comparison cannot be ruled out, this is TL's problem not iDevice problem.... And i guess (canacanacana) is annoyed of dragging the iDevice in pointing out (or constantly comparing) what android doesn't have (yet!).........--- just my guess.......
I share the same frustrations to android users- cos some of my friends/neighbors are android users- and they cannot relate to what i have while they dont have (yet)...:(

I am not worried, what I meant was, if both types of users have same buggy updates, the more screams TL is going to have. I would assume from my appalling experience with their support, that TL is understaffed, so I can assume they do not have enough programmers to do both softwares.
Neighbour list - I have Bakery, Fashion, Farm, Restaurant, Nightclub, City - I tested on all, it seems it is only in BS where the last visited is registered. I did not even realise that until you mentionned it.
Gifting fix update last Friday - what exactly was fixed? I do not see any difference the week before that.
Dancing waters - yeah based on the poll.. those who were happy with the dancing waters were naturally quiet until the change has been made. And there are only a few players hanging around in the forum compared to active players. I am truly happy for those who preferred them not moving, however TL should have made the option to turn them off or not - instead of removing them altogether.

That is something new to me....im not sure tho if there is a new update like that..if there is- im not one of those lucky to get them yet.... My list is still alphabetical when visiting nbrs..... I am an andriod user. Notice some carriers do not carry Iphones or maybe I just do not want an iphone. Personal choice. As to tipping it is not fixed on my phone. However Saturday I had to update my OS on my phone and now my notifications are working for FS, RS, CS, and BS. Amazing. I like the games and yes irritated that I am waiting for updates for the other stuff. I am happy that I can help some of my neighbors by gifting parts for their sushi counters. Even though I can't see them. I tip and gift daily. People remeber it's a game. AS ANDRIOD SALES CONTINUE TO GROW, there will be more options open to us. When my update was anounced on Facebook there were alot of others asking about their updates for thier os. So we must be patient. I would not rate the games low because I enjoy them.

Not having enough staff is not an excuse to provide one device updates and not the other at the same time. Or to provide buggy updates and insufficient support to all. TL advertised weekly updates and ported almost all their Story games to Android; if they didn't have the staff to handle the updates and support issues, they should have bitten off only what they can chew. And hire more staff.
I got the neighbor release update from reading a thread.
There are threads where people said iDevice gifting was fixed in Friday's release. Others said it wasn't fixed. At least some people had positive feedback on the fixes. You're probably one of the ones who didn't see a change.
People suggested TL provide the option to turn off or on the dancing water. TL apparently took the easy route and deleted it. This one was making people sick, so it should be off if there is no option. Because its a health thing. I didn't like them at first, but adapted to it.

So I'm browsing the threads about 'what's new' this week and see someone post a screenshot of the new Sushi bar in RS.
My immediate reaction: OOOoooOOO!!!! New constructible! However did I miss that? THAT'S why all my neighbors keep sending and requesting parts! Wooo! I'll have to go build me one!
Then I scroll down and see someone point out that it's for iOS only. /sadpanda
I hope TL is hiring some more android programmers. I'm really not a complainer type, but I'm getting frustrated and disappointed here. There are too many things that I don't have access to just because I'm a droid user. I want to play with badges. I want to play with collectibles. I want to build the new constructible appliances. I don't want to watch all my neighbors requesting parts knowing that they're having fun with new recipes while I'm stuck on the sidelines wondering how long it will be before I can join them. I feel very left out and I'm starting to think I should probably just stop playing until I'm able to upgrade to an iPhone.

I don't want to watch all my neighbors requesting parts knowing that they're having fun with new recipes while I'm stuck on the sidelines wondering how long it will be before I can join them. I feel very left out and I'm starting to think I should probably just stop playing until I'm able to upgrade to an iPhone.
/sigh
UPGRADE TO AN IPHONE?! That's heresy!

Yes, Xcellent, that's exactly what I meant. I'm not against any users getting comparable features. But why does something have to be taken away from someone else in order to do that? I hope android users are heard by TL and get all the features but not at the expense of anyone else. I don't care who gets what first honestly. It just bothers me when "innocent" groups are targeted that don't even have any control over the situation. It's possible to be ok with someone benefitting from a situation and want to benefit from that situation too. Those two can co-exist. In fact, I enjoy the features that iOS has AND want android users to enjoy them as well. Thanks for the interpretation Xcellent!

I don't think anyone ever said they wanted to take anything away from iDevice users. Android will get the updates, but in 2-4+ months. We wanted the releases to be at the same time, so that both get the same new features at the same time. Android users are not targeting "innocent" groups. And if you "really don't care who gets what first honestly," then you shouldn't have a problem with getting the iDevice releases at the same time as Android.

Ok, I'm going to shut up about this after this post
I run a small business (no it doesn't have anything to do with iPhones or TL lol), and I am guilty of biting off more than I can chew all the time! I do that in an attempt to please as many customers as I can and to make money. I rather satisfy some than none. *You have to do that to keep your head above water.
*I would never expect TL to not take advantage of an opportunity to please any group, not just mine, and/or lose money by holding back a product release. *Maybe the funds they make off of the iOS releases are for android developers!?
**It may be ideal to have a full staff and perfect products the first time out or EVER, but that's not realistic. It's costly and time consuming and all problems cannot be avoided or anticipated. Are there many bugs in these apps? Yes. Has TL been horrible at customer service? Yes but more so in the past. They seem to be active, responsive, and invested in their products now. For me personally, I couldn't ask for more than that.*
**So when and if android gets a feature first or exclusively, I'll be happy for them and waiting patiently for mine or sitting back and admiring something I can't have.*
Good luck with your plight

People spend a lot of money to play the TL games, both iDevice and Android. I see this in the forums and when visiting neighbors and community members.
TL can afford to have sufficient staff to develop and test software that can be released on both devices at the same time with less errors. They can afford to have a larger customer and techical support staff.

I'm sure you do the best you can to run a successful business. I think TL can do a little more for their customers.

Maybe I need to change careers! Lol. Thx for the article link. Thats exactly the kind of ammo that supports your argument for more attention to droid versions. I hope i hadn't conveyed that I was not for improvements to android programs- just thought the focus on iOS wasn't fair to iOS users. Anyway, I do hope their success helps them respond better to android user needs and features

That is correct. Still no updates for Android. No date provided by TL. I don't believe there will be one this year.
But since the last post before yours, iOS users got Halloween versions for Farm, Restaurant, Bakery, and Fashion Stories, with promotional items provided to some players in all but Bakery. And they got an iOS 5 upgrade, but that was necessary.

I wonder if any of those items will see the light of day come December for Android users. For the length of time that has already passed, it's becoming more and more of an improbability.

Hi, I write on a blog about Mac and iDevices.
I met an app developer.
He told me that now he works only on apps for iPhone and iPad.. He used to work on apps for Android but he stopped. Why? Because there are TOO MANY different phones who have Android and it was very difficult to make an app compatible not only eith the different versions of the Android OS but also with the different hardware (HTC, Samsung, Acer, Motorola,..).

That is an excellent point. It seems to me that Android users do not realize all of the issues involved with a non-IOS platform. It is a new OS and I'm sure it is not that easy to make everything work as quickly as they would like. This is not to excuse TL...I've been playing these games for a long time. Until recently we never had the weekly updates that they promised right from the get go. I stopped playing for about 5 months because of boredom and total lack of communication from TL. I'm back because a friend told me things had improved. There are still a lot of issues, but I remember before the Android version came out, there were a lot of posts screaming "When will there be an Android version". So they rushed to get one out to satisfy the demands of customers. Sadly, it was not complete, just like IOS updates are not tested well either. Hopefully this will improve, but it will take time.

You're right, if they won't give us all the cool features iOS users got then we shouldn't buy gems! We want the games to be equal! When android devices start getting the upgrade to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwhich, it better be supported immediately! Android 4.0 is suppose to deliver better Android developer tools, things better get a lot better.

Which dev group has more open positions?
We don’t hire for a specific platform. Everyone we hire is expected to be able to do everything.
Well then, what's the problem? If they're expected to be able to do everything, why don't they do everything? Maybe you should hire a group specific to the Android platform.

I never thought the inequality was that bad until Saturday when the Xmas stuff came out for IOS players and not Android players, with NO ETA for when we will get anything except "before Xmas".
Disappointing TL, really disappointing.
Maybe Android players really should stop buying gems. At least then we wouldnt pay for developers to make us angry... and disappointed.
And for those people who say "oh but its a free game. We should be so grateful blah blah blah".... remember, if we all played for free, TL would not be operating today. So be realistic and stop sprouting nonsense. SOMEBODY has to pay. And in this case, it probably shouldnt be Android player anymore.

You reported all the problems I have in RS . Bakery and Farm. ANDROID users are more than 51% and Team Lava does not care to release the up datings at Android Market my games last version are: BS July 29, RS August 4 2011 and Farm Story Sep 14!! We are indeed 2nd class players!! We are not customers for them. .

I agree with this. It doesn't make any sense that the Android platform is so far behind if the devs are required to know code for both. I don't understand what the issue is then.

Exactly. Android users are paying with the same money that ios users are, and there should be equal opportunity to the new content released.

I won't buy gems til they treat Droid users with the same respect they treat the iPhone users. I feel that if they can do the goals an other things for iPhone that they can for Droid. Our phones cost just as much as iPhone, sometimes even more!

Androids got a valentines version with goals?
In Restaurant Story I can see my neighbors valentines items so I thought maybe there might be one for RS. Stlll can't see any goal stuff in BS. Normally TL doesn't let us see what they're not giving us.
