It's just so frustrating if you get something so "not value for money" items after spending hours on end just to reach 24 gems. :( been saving for it then used it for a groovy box, only to get a wig for my avatar. Now im back to 0 gems. I think i wanna cry. I could have spent it buying wallpapers, or floor tiles, or even the door! I've learned my lesson, never again to take my chances, especially when items in the game are so ridiculously expensive. 

Thks so much for providing so valuable infos for our all members!!  I would like to highlight to forum that if those mystery bOxes can kindly less costly for us?? How about less half of our precious hard earned Gems? 12 gems instead?? I totally agreed wz our member that it reali took us so so long to accumulate our gems! So far iv only tried buying a Magic box which got a pair of pink boots for my Avatar!!  And also our closet items can be purchase wz our game tokens instead of all gona buy wz gems?! Thank you for posting the ratios, however I'm pretty upset at the moment. I really wanted to invest in the halloween box and after over 20 tries (yes 20) I got the level 4 prizes every time except for 2, and those 2 were level 3 prizes (the ears and bag). The same thing happened when I did the faux fur box last month. I've tried at different times of the day, tried to be patient when I was getting 4 4's in a row and did a couple more...but nothing. I really love my boutique and love to invest in it...but this ratio is crazy and obviously way off. If that were true then I should have at least gotten a few top prizes with over 20 tries....Can anyone explain?

Most of the time, there is only one 1st place prize. I have noticed with Fashion there is sometimes two first place prizes.
It may because some items are for the avatar. So you can get a first prize decoration plus a first prize avatar item.

I totally agree. I bought the secret bag after saving my gems for a while. Guess what I got; a stupid pink cat!:mad: I wanted to cry too. I prob. will NEVER buy another box again! You would think because the gems are rare & cost real money that TL would put something in there that would be big. Now that I'm at level 40 I don't really have anything to look forward to but buying things with my gems. Starting too get board!

I finally bought my first box. The randomness scares me but the Magic Box has been calling my name because I wanted the diva bow hair really bad.
First box, first try - bow hair. YAY!!!

Now I just gotta make sure I quit while I'm ahead, lol.
Some of those avatar items are just so tempting though >.<

Am I missing something about the avatar. I bought a Xmas mystery box in FS and I wasn't aware that avatar items were in there and I received an ugly pair of tree glasses. I was sooooo mad! If the avatar was your personal store attendant then maybe I could see a use for it, but it serves no purpose to spend money on clothes for something that's just in your closet. I will not purchase another mystery box in FS anyway now that I know you can get duplicates. The Xmas tree glasses did it for me.

There are a lot of things they could actually do to improve the avatar thing though that would make it cool. See them in your store, different hair styles, cuts highlights, a real closet for your stuff that you can separate into seasons. But really there is not much of a selection at all. I wish I worked for TL. I have some bad *** ideas.

I would hope some sort of game progress would occur someday. It can't be what it is right now a year from now or two. I won't be playing. In theory, and I think this information came from Norman way back when, your chance of getting duplicates is reduced only if you hit "buy again" instead of exiting and repurchasing. In my personal experience though, you still get a lot of duplicates either way.

I got the Love Waterfall during a Buy Again and it did the whole "processing" thing for a good 4 seconds and I knew it would be something above 4th and 3rd because any other time it only shows it for a second and I get a million Heart Crystals, which is 3rd. I really hate the Steel Rose though, ugh, anything but that.

Weirdly, it varies from game to game. I feel like I get better items hitting "buy again" in all games BUT fashion. The only reason I can think of for why that might be the case is because fashion boxes include a number of items which cannot be duplicated, ie avatar items. I confess that statistics are not my strong suit (a mild understatement :D), but it seems like that would affect the odds.

I'm not touching the Valentine box because of the steel roses and mailbox. The steel roses aren't any better than the shoe measurer, but the shoe measurer costs only 500 coins (compared with 24 gems for the steel roses??). And the mailbox is just as lame. Who displays a mailbox indoors? :rolleyes:

If TL wants more people to buy their special boxes, they should make sure every prize is at least decent and not a total ripoff.

You're right, Actually I bought swan kiss but at least I guess this is a better 4th prize than roses :) I was afraid they removed swan kiss from buys with coins but it's still there (I want to buy another to use as a divider).

Ok well i already got answer i think. I did try 4 times in a row and as other of u ere i got only 4 th prices - sad. For me 105 gems is lots of money. Apart of this i did look in shops of players who have this nice waterfall and fontain etc, they did take from box in a row minimum 10 times but prolly more like 12-13 times. To me it is too much money o get it and i myself cant afford it.

^ I understand how your feeling. Your not alone! ;( A few weeks ago when TL set up the valentine box gem trap I accidentaly clicked on the tab to 'buy' the box because the tab for the clothing orders were at the exact same placing. I know how frustrating it is to save up gems I don't buy them either, so its kinda of refreshing to meet someone who saves up gems like me :)

Hopefully when you intend to buy boxes you'll get a better prize :D

I'm kinda person prefer decorations. For me, the safest boxes are secret bag and the bundle up box. At least I won't be mad at anything from these boxes.

The next goes to surprise box. I love all decorations from it but I'm pretty ill at the pink choker (which is my first box item). It is so small that can be hardly seen. The pink furry boot is cute but I find that it is not easy to have a nice mix and match from the existing closet unless you are lucky enough to win the 1st prize which is the lolita princess dress.

Indeed. iTunes requires you to have a payment method set up regardless. However, you can go out and buy an iTunes gift card in any amount you'd like. You would then go to the iTunes or App Store app and scroll all the way down while on the main page. You'd click Redeem, enter your code, and that's it [the credited amount would be linked to your Apple ID]. From there, when you purchase a gem package from TL, iTunes will process the payment from the gift card balance first and any amount that rolls over would then come from your original payment method. I always pay with a gift card for any app related thing on my device. Two reasons (a) it's safer and protects your personal information and (b) it's instant. With ****** [which is my payment method] it takes about 2 days to be posted to my account [my actual bank account, not the app itself] and I hate having any invisible transactions so to speak. So gift cards I think, are the best option :)

Yeah we've complained about the confirmation button. It will most likely never happen. But in the future if you don't want it, at least don't sell it you know? The steel roses are why I refused to touch the Valentine box. Worst box item ever and not worth the risk since they are a common item. I've never even seen them in anyone's boutique though I'm sure plenty of people got stuck with them. That's how hated they are.

i dont think so because it never happened for bakery, which has been out for a year +. the 2012 vday stuff was completely different from the 2011 vday stuff. ( i got last year's vday table and chair)

to make items from boxes a rarity, i do not think they will be bring them back!! And TL would like their design team to come up with something new... TL is paying them $$! LOL
