The Great Farm Update Date: Equinox! 9-23(picnic box)

Tomorrow may be the Equinox, but something else is occuring on September 23, and that is The Great Farm Update Date! Some of us have been enjoying our badges for almost 2 weeks now, and they are providing us with a nice amount of gems! Another exciting event this week is the teaser for Halloween gifts! Thanks to GM and the newly formed TL blog, we now know about these awesome Halloween gifts! Here is a pic of the *Spooky Suprises*:

We have also recived a Farm-specific teaser for this week, a much more realistic farm animal than a tiger:). This week, we shall have... a goat! Or 2 goats, depending on how many you want.

Nice stuff! But, my God, the prices!!! I like lost of the design, especially the haunted barn (crypt is nice, too) but 65 gems??? That's 12$ for a tiny cartoon thumbnail O.o (Ok, at the end of the day I did spent more than that effectively on my cottage and island, but still....)
It's good, though that they're not in a chest - and it'll be fun to watch my richer neighbours decorating their farms :-)

I haven't gotten the update yet but I look forward big fields of the candy corn. It looks really pretty.

I'm really torn abotu FS. I love my little patch and I adore the crops, but the rest just isn't playing farm. It's decoration a shop window. I can't breed the three kinds of animals I have. There's no farmy stuff, no water. No other crafts that make money. I have seen other games and I don't get it. Are the TL games that much older than some others??
I'm sure a lot of people are happy that they dont have a little farmer walking around and doing stuff or that their neighbours can steal their crops, and as I have said before, the design of the crops and the general feel is really really nice, but I have to admit I'm getting a wee bit bored.

Unfortunately, yes. The boxes are gambling items. The chances of getting prizes of different levels are:
First prize: 1%
Second prize: 10%
Third prize: 35%
Fourth prize: 54%

Obviously, first prize items are more desirable than fourth prize items.

Did you buy through the pop up window? You have click one of the offers in that window to get the free gift.

The "with any gem purchase" line is completely misleading even with the footnote. It never is "any" gem purchase--it is always limited to the three listed. Furthermore, the three listed packages vary randomly for everyone. For example, my lowest package with this offer is the $20 package.

TL had a very bad day yesterday. They accidentally released the Halloween items to some people, then realized their mistake and withdrew the items. They accidentally put the St. Bernard in the store and had him as a free gift offer, then realized their mistake and withdrew the dog from the store.

I would not hold my breath on seeing all those Halloween items in the store. I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of those items are going to be shoved in a new Halloween box.

As minilaura stated you do need to buy from the pop -up. If you do not have the dog(he will be in your inventory) restart your device. If you still do not see him, delete your game
and redownload it from the app store. Sometimes it takes time for the item and gems to appear. In the meantime, email support@teamlava.com
Give them you storm ID game, item and # of gems you are missing. They can check your game.

What I never understand is why the 4th level stuff is always so goddamn awful and useless. If it was something more farmlike - even if it was a bit of fence or something - I actually wouldn't mind having several.
I bought 10 chests so far. The first 9 were all different things. A lot of it useless but some of it is ok. Bought the 10th and realized I can't live with getting several milkbuckets or catapults or whatnot for my money.

Now that is gone also. The only changes I can see are the tree and the basket in the store. Oh, the pumpkin as a gift. I understand available for a limited time but I think TL could have announced that they would disappear in less than a day. I probably would not buy much but I see a few things I would have liked to have had. Now you know why we were not getting much in the last 3 or 4 updates. TL was working on Halloween stuff. They did a nice job but they should keep them around a little longer if TL is going to get much return to take to the bank.

Same here. It's all gone except the tree and picnic basket. Even my saint Bernard pop up which said it would expire in 60 hours disappeared in less then one day. Nice job.

Now calm down! This wasn't a one-day-only-you'll-never-see-this-stuff-again-ha-ha-ha thing. It was a MISTAKE. It was never supposed to go out to people this early. TL screwed up and covered up their screw-up by removing the stuff from the store of those people who got the sneak peek.

You will see this stuff again. You will have a chance to buy this stuff again. (Some of it might be in a box, but you'll still be able to gamble for it.) There is NO WAY that TL would sell gem items to a few people and then yank them with no intention of selling them again. We all know that TL main objective is to make money by selling gem items. How does selling stuff to a handful of people for a couple of hours help them sell lots of gem items? It doesn't.

I guarantee that everyone will have a chance to give TL their money sometime before Oct 31.

Did you buy through the pop up window? You have click one of the offers in that window to get the free gift.

The "with any gem purchase" line is completely misleading even with the footnote. It never is "any" gem purchase--it is always limited to the three listed. Furthermore, the three listed packages vary randomly for everyone. For example, my lowest package with this offer is the $20 package.

I bought the gems through the pop up menu (50gems x ?7,99) but I didn't get any St Bernard in the Inventury, only the gems.
Then the pop up menu disappeared as well.....since yesterday night I only see the countdown if I open the gems menu.

As minilaura stated you do need to buy from the pop -up. If you do not have the dog(he will be in your inventory) restart your device. If you still do not see him, delete your game
and redownload it from the app store. Sometimes it takes time for the item and gems to appear. In the meantime, email support@teamlava.com
Give them you storm ID game, item and # of gems you are missing. They can check your game.

Support should be able to push mr doggy into you game. I have noticed that a few of the buy with gem offers are taking a little time to pop into the games.
You will love him!! I love the new animations we are getting on the farm...

You can also delete and download the game(you will not lose your game)
This sometimes will push the item into you game.

Did they give you your money back?
Buying something creates a contract. If one party can't fulfill their part the contract becomes void and you are supposed to get your money back. I'd be rather adamant about it, tbh.
As to contacting Apple - a diversion since they admitted that the glitch happened at their end. They need to reimburse you via whatever money transfer apple users are paying for this. (I'm on android, my purchases can go via several way, ******, credit card - it differs form game to game)
I think you need to foot down a little. These things do happen but that doesn't mean the other party can just say 'Oops, sorry, but we're keeping your money anyway'

Apple was cool although they did not know why TL referred me over. I have a huge amount of respect for the way the Apple Customer Care Agents handled the issue. It's sad cause it wouldn't have even cost TL anything to reimburse the difference in gems or put a free gift in my inventory as Farm Story is a virtual world. TL didn't even respond to my last email in our correspondence concerning this. So glad Apple is a company that understands clients beyond dollar signs.

I also hope there is a way for everyone to get gem offers and get what is solicited! I always delete the game and reinstall it during updates (the original Farm Story) to decrease the chances of technical problems. So far it has worked.

KP, could you please check with GM on the size of footprint for potted maple? It takes up the whole square vs 1/4 for potted cherry tree. Also, crop circles are way too big (3x3)... Thank you!!!
I checked on the potted maple and Gm said this size is by design since cherry trees and maple trees vary in size pretty dramatically.

I know they have staff to pay, but I agree there has to be a better way than the gamble in the box for FARM items - especially the tractor cause it is a basic farm item. Maybe coins for the tractor and gems for the goat IN THE STORE. That seems more fair.
