Hey all you Farmer, Mayors, Bakers and Restaurateurs,
We have a new feature in these four games called Badges! Here's the rundown.
* There are three levels of Badges you can earn: Gold, Silver and Bronze
* Silver and Bronze will earn you Coins and Experience
* Gold badges will earn you a Gem each
* You can find out what badges you currently have in Main (or Menu) > Messages > Badges
* Some users will have earned them retroactively, though not all.
* Right now, not all users will have access to badges. Some users on iOS will not have badges, and currently, Badges have been disabled for Android devices. We're working on bringing it to all users, but this may take time.
If you have any questions, let me know. If you wish to report bugs with the Badges, please do so in the game-specific forums. Thanks!

I think if you jump right to the gold badge, you don't get the coins/XP for the bronze and silver badges--at least you don't get the popup for them.
That doesn't bother me at all, though. Just gimme my gems! :)

Farm Story:
Market Master, Friendly Farmer, Field Work, Green Acres
A short explanation of each achievement would be very much appreciated. Maybe when you are still earning them, you would know what they are, but if you instantly have the gold badge, no idea how I got those..
This is definitely a great addition to the games..from what I can deduce above, this is only for 4 stories? Is TL planning something else for Fashion Story and Nightclub Story? And will we see our neighbours' badges too?

These shouldn't be connected to the quests/tasks. Just a coincidence.

I just noticed this on restaurant, got a bronze for collecting 2 gifts and bronze for tipping 5 tables. I've done both of these things before so is there a reason why some have earned badges automatically and some haven't?
Don't have them yet... What kinds of things exactly gives you badges?

Its not there, so answering Rachael, I might not have it yet. And everyone in forums have been mentioning badges, but I still dont know what they are!
I got badges in Restaurant and Farm but not in Bakery yet. Guess I'm gonna have to wait for that one! Oh well.

I see now, I only got badges for BS though :( But i logged onto CS and I had 46 cash now I have 55! Why? I didn't enter a contest or anything

It's because city has badges as well, maybe they were deposited by Teamlava because you completed the badge requirements

I have the badges in BS on one device... but not on my other device... and neither device have the badges in RS. Hope they come in soon!!
As to the people who don't have "messages", that makes NO sense lol... under main menu, you should have "Social", "Messages", and "My Gifts", "Invite", "Settings" and "Help/FAQ"... everyone should have those, at least in BS & RS for sure... I don't know about other games, but I would imagine they all have them since they are all so similar.
The thing I hate is they made BS & RS different, with Social & Messages being swapped (social on top in RS, messages on top in BS)... when I'm tapping quick, I go into the wrong one all the time... they should be in the same place!

@briguynv - the message button used to be on top in RS. An update a long time ago changed it. Maybe we could all ask GM very nicely to talk to the devs about switching it back :)

You get them for doing different things, like adding so many neighbours, planting a certain amount of crops, buying a certain amount of decorations, etc. I hope I get them soon, too! :)
This update made bakery story much more fun :o The generous badge for tipping 500 table would be cool if it's daily lol :cool: would give us a gem daily lol... BUT it's once in a life time unfortunately

I wouldn't mind starting over either, seems theres not much more to achieve on bakery story or fashion now that I've expanded and decorated well.

Just check dont have it yet.
I've got it in, Farm only. You well find in your profile tad a 4th tab with Badges written on it if u have them, u well also receive a pop up. If that 4th tab is empty u should receive the badges in the near future.
My bf plays city story and he has the badges, we play on same device and i don't have the badges on my farm story :( Hope they come soon!

THANK YOU for making them retroactive. It's nice to know that if we already have the gold badges we got the gem for it. Awesome idea TL! I think tasks were ok maybe as a tutorial for new players, but the badges are way better and higher levels can work a little harder to do them. Can't wait for them to come to all games!!!

Why would they do that? Droid users kicked up a huge stink when if happened the other way round. iDevice users would do the same and there are more of them. Releasing together works well.

Hey GM, I love the badges, really do, but I've already completed 9! Do you think more badges will roll out in the weekly updates? The one thing that dissapointed me with badges is that some of them require spending cash, but all-in-all, I'm very pleased.

I have them on all four stories now, yay. And I did earn gems on my gold badges, I had a few already on each game so took me a minute to remember previous quantity. I do wonder why I didn't receive credit for some things I've done, but did on others? And not just on one game or another, but with all 4 giving credit and no credit for tasks.
In farm i got the badges but not the actual gems, what should i do? :(

Oh, what a great addition to the game!! Mine arrived this morning. I think it will motivate some neighbors who are a little lax in helping with their neighbors' farms. Great incentive! And they are earned pretty quickly which is an added plus. Thanks for a great game....for young and old alike. Keep up the good work! P.S. Also thanks for listening. The return of our gnomes along with earning a gem was also just a super, super move!!

Why turn the updates on for some and not for all. If TL is going to add something to the game then add it and don't make a game out of getting the update. We have people who get the very latest features the very instant they come out. They seem to be the same people every time. The rest of us wait and sort of hope we will get the updated feature someday. Where is the equality in that?

I finally got the badges on all 4... both BS & RS on both devices! YAY! Weird tho how some are retroactive and others are not, even within one game. Like in BS, I already earned a medal for gifting, but none for spending cash... or I got a badge for buying counters, but not for floor or wall decor... some started at zero even though I've surpassed them a couple times over... and others used retroactive actions & issued the medal already... just weird. Seems like a glitch they couldn't quite figure out.
The one I don't agree with is spending gems... you have to spend a bunch of gems to earn a small amount of cash, and then ONE gem... that makes NO sense! I know you 'don't have to do it'... but it shouldn't even really BE there... it's like "spend 50 gems and we'll give you ONE!" Woo hoo... is that supposed to excite me? Spending coins is different, because I would spend coins to buy gems if I could, so I have no prob buying **** I don't need & storing or selling it, then getting a gem eventually... but why would I spend multiple gems only to get ONE gem in return. Eventually, I will spend some gems to buy things... but I won't be doing it to get the medal/badge... and I don't even know how many you have to spend to earn gold, but if it's as high as I imagine, I won't be getting it.
Then others are just weird how they came in... I already had gold when I got in... and realized, that means I earned the Gem, but noticed I didn't get the bronze or silver coins/points.
Also, for the cash spending medal... I was at zero, had no badge/medal at all... then I expanded my bakery, and spent $2mil at once... so that skipped the bronze & silver, and went straight to gold... but again, I missed out on the coins/points for bronze/silver... I know cuz my coins went down exactly $2 mil... and I didn't get the smaller amounts that I would have earned with bronze/silver. Especially since this was NOT retroactive, I actually spent that ALL at once and EARNED the gold, I should get the rewards for ALL 3 medals! So that kind of stinks that it skips!
Also just out of curiosity, a couple I was already at gold for when the badges started... so I'm just wondering what they were even for...
In BS:
Relax & Enjoy - no clue
Baking Buddy - (number of neighbors maybe??)
And in RS:
Party Champion - no clue
Dine About Town - (number of neighbors maybe???)
What were the goals for those? They take away the explanation when you reach gold, so you can't tell what it was. It should still SAY what it was... like for the tipping one... I tipped like crazy and reached 500... now it SHOULD read "You've tipped 500 tables & earned the Gold!" That way I always know what it took to get there...
Others I was already at bronze or silver... and it tells me what I need to get the NEXT level, but I don't know when I got this one... like collecting gifts in RS... it says to reach gold, I need to collect 50... but how many did I get to reach bronze & silver? I'm just curious what each level is. :-)
I wish someone at TL would post a detailed list of each medal, and the requirements for each level.
Anyway, that's just my two cents!

I have nbrs on adroid that have them. I have also seen some other threads where android players have gotten the badges. Not all players have the badges yet.
If you have them, they will be under your profile in the game.

Thanks, Briguynv - 2 cents, that's a new gold medal :) very interesting. I've been playing a while and from what I had read earlier was beginning to think I wouldn't have much to do. Maybe not from your post.
I've bought and spent some gems. I fully expected that counter to be at zero but I have heard otherwise.
I've definitely got nothing to do just now - no Badges yet.

yes that blank tab is where badges(metals) will show up.
I Still have no badges :(
I got the weekly updates on all my games (restaurant, bakery & farm story) but no badges.
Have restarted my device (android) several times but no luck.
I really want those badges :(

Quick update in regards to Badges and their availability. Apparently, this feature was planned for both platforms (iOS and Android) to launch simultaneously. However, this feature was (temporarily) removed from Android before launch.
We are currently working on bringing this feature to all devices and users -- both Android users and iOS users who do not have access to Badges yet. I can't presume on when this will be complete, but it is an issue we are working on. Sorry about the confusion with my earlier message.

We are definitely working on it though. And your stats should be accruing, so you may be "earning" badges right now, even if you don't see the benefits yet.

We are definitely working on it though. And your stats should be accruing, so you may be "earning" badges right now, even if you don't see the benefits yet.
Well...that's a comfort. With the lists, Droid users can still see what they need to do:D.

Hey everyone,
Quick update in regards to Badges and their availability. Apparently, this feature was planned for both platforms (iOS and Android) to launch simultaneously. However, this feature was (temporarily) removed from Android before launch.
We are currently working on bringing this feature to all devices and users -- both Android users and iOS users who do not have access to Badges yet. I can't presume on when this will be complete, but it is an issue we are working on. Sorry about the confusion with my earlier message.
At least the new bakery appliance got launched simultaneously!! lol that was way to awesome for me to complain about the badges being delayed xD

Everyone that did not get the fryers should have them today. I just got my farm and fashion updated this morning.!!

TeamLava ~ I have waiting so Long !! But badge didnt in my iPad2 yet ;( poor me !!! Waiting everyday ~ every night. I played only Bakery Story ~ level 64 with 328 neighbors but now I need to have the new feature for medal or badge!

Hey GM maybe i missed it somewhere, but why exactly were the android badges pulled? You mentioned previously that they had been planned for release on iOS and android at the same time so why did TL have to "recall" the update?

Are you sure Android users got them? I didn't see any posts from people saying they got them but then they disappeared. I don't think it made it into the release. Based on the wording of the release, I have a hard time believing that it really was intended to go into the release, so I can't be sure that it wasn't a miscommunication like TL claims it was.
If badges were intended to go into the release and were pulled at the last minute, then you would think that they were real close to releasing and it would be released to Android soon. There was time to have that happen before the gifting screw up.

Rachael, we all read what GM said, and we don't need to keep hearing it. Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words. If it was oh so close to being released and they had to pull it after the announcement and before the release, then that means it was close to being released. But we haven't seen it yet and there's been time. Don't say they didn't want to put out a bad release, since they waited a day to release the gifting and look how not ready that was. And by seeing other releases, being ready to release is not a prerequisite for being released.

iDevice have badges, RS sushi counter, buying additional appliances in RS and BS, enhanced neighbor list features, no more dancing water in FS, gifting fixes and probably more.
Android has nothing that iDevice doesn't have.
So, given that, the choice is simple: give iDevice collectables
And do you really believe they intended to release badges to both iDevice and Android simultaneously 2 weeks ago? I think the initial release wording said it all. If they were really that close, badges would have been released by now. And there was no intent on releasing all the new things to Android this week that iDevice got, so why would they have wanted to release badges to both at the same time two weeks ago?

I guess i'm just trying to find some shred of hope that can keep me from moving on to other games entirely. I may not have the patience of a saint, but I still have more than the average person, this constant fixation with iOS has been slowly chipping away at that.... The fryer in BS gave me hope, but with the last 2 weeks or so it's like giving a piece of stale bread to a starving kid while telling them they can't touch the feast sitting only a few feet away.
Why are Android users always out of the loop? It seems to me we are always last to get anything!

Feel pretty much the same way.I was reading the forum several times a day and now I am only 2 or 3 times a week. TL just does not care what the players think or want. Yes, it is a fun game. Yes, some of the updates are neat but too many problems and too many different groups based which phone you have. I rotated crops as often as I could and now some get wilted. My faith in TL is gone and my interest is wilting.

I doubt any one is working on the badges for the droids because as far as they are concerned badges are out. On to create the next disappointment.

I've got one left to complete in city but I refuse to complete it as it requires me to buy another flag which costs 15 city cash. No way am I wasting city on another flag when I don't want one. I'd just as soon leave it uncompleted.

I know this thread has died down, but we Andriod users just got ours :D hahaha
For the Wall Decorations, beside the decoration items that are counted, does wallpaper counted as well?
For the Floor Decorations, does tiles counted?
I thought I've read that we should be earning though the badges weren't introduce earlier to Andriod.
But when I updated my BS, the medals are shown, but the earlier "work" that I've done, were not counted.

Not sure if this is your problem, but ... In order to put a wall decoration behind the door, you have to tap on the wall section itself, not the floor tile beneath it.

Badges are available for Restaurant, Bakery, and City Stories. They were released to Farm but have since been disabled. For iOS.
For Android, they are available on RS and BS. Not on Farm since they are disabled on iOS. Have no idea about City Story.

These were excellent. TL should think about putting some more up. Nothing better to keep customers on side than to give them a little reward. I really liked these, and hope they implement some more.
