How does watering benefit your neighbors?

I water faithfully, but haven't been able to determine the benefit?

When they harvest their crops they will get get an extra xp for every one thing you watered so they can level up faster.

I believe they also get 20 extra coins for every crop watered.. i know i do.

The more you water the more your water level increases giving you a chance to place higher on the community board.
When high on community board more ppl will hit you......more coins and xps....level up faster.

On Android you get no coins when you water and Android people get no coins from being watered either.

Yes we get xp points on droid.

I was wondering the same question of this thread. I was mostly on fashion and treasure story, I didn't go on farm until last week O.o

Yes when I water my kids' farms they get coins and xp when they collect, they are on ipods, and I only get xp when I collect, I'm on Android. They also get coins for visiting other farms and I do not.
