What's the story with the upper left hand corner icons?

I'm unsure as to what teh point is of the table and pan icons in the upper left corner of the screen, it asks me to buy white chairs and tables or cook fruit salad...is there some benefit to doing this?

these are quest that are in some players games. You can do them, if you would like, or ignore them. So far I have not seen where anyone gets any special prize or gems for completing the quests. I agree I think the quests are great for brand new players but not really that helpful for someone that has already been playing.

i recently got the tasks to complete. i am at level 41 and i liked the tasks. it was something different to do. i liked the xp point and large amount of coins i got from each task. i had it for two days and then it disappeared. what happened?
