I was wondering if it's safe to spend 24 gems on unlocking another appliance? I have already received the maximum appliances and don't want to spend 24 gems unless I know it's going to unlock. Does anyone think it's alright to do this?

I would wait specially if you've completely maxed on your appliances! It's only suppose to unlock your next appliances.
The update is for both RS and BS. Basically added this new way of unlocking your next appliances. RS is okay but BS has a bug. It doesn't give you credit for accepting gift. The number of plates inside you gift folder does NOT increase.. Time to load the previous version again. Good thing, I still have it.

I have 6 million plates of tirimasu, 42 million plates of stuffed mushroom and 13 million bbq chicken and I still want more!!

you could always have more.. now go for 7 million plates of tiramisu!

So you can still unlock appliance slots by leveling up?
Someone said on a BS thread that the only way to get new slots it to buy them now...

no you level up and you can unlock them, it hasn't changed

Not true! you can still unlock appliances slot by leveling up or paying 24 gem to unlock the next appliance earlier before reaching the level.
