MogPie event: Caption Contest! [Archive]

OK guys, here's how this is going to work... we've combined the event ideas from Mogwai4111 and cakeandpie.

Cakeandpie suggested a contest in which users submit pictures of creative looking farms, bakeries, etc. Mog suggested a caption contest. I recommended we merge the two.
The event will span two weeks, with 50 Gems/CC given out to four users this week, and three users will earn 50 gems next week.

For this week, we need screenshots. Funny ones, clever ones, unique ones, etc. At the end of the week, we'll choose our favorite 4 screenshots -- preferably from four separate games, but that's not set in stone. These screenshots must be from within any TeamLava game, but they don't have to be from your account. When you submit, just post the screenshot in this thread, and the name of the bakery/farm/etc. as well.

The following week is when we'll have the actual "caption contest", but we'll worry about that next week. :)

We'll accept submissions until Monday at 9:00 AM. Then I'll pick the winners, and we'll get rolling on the captions. Good luck!

One of the few reasons. But that's why this is a two-week event -- so Android users can participate in the Caption portion of the contest.

Oh, I see how it is. Haha, but, (she is my friend) and i love her Farm. My city was just remodeled yesterday (Kelvin City), and I just got the Guggenhiem, the Airport, and the Shopping Mall yesterday

I can't say if this was taken into consideration when the contest was decided, but screenshots are available for Android on Restaurant Story, Bakery Story, and City Story since last week's manual release. Its not available on Farm Story. If you play RS or BS you may not want to upgrade unless you want to take the screenshot for this contest. There's XP display problems that need to be fixed, and in RS coins and XP drop on the tables and floors and then seconds later fly up to the coin and XP bars at the top.

Just as a suggestion guys- try to post something more like what KP did, a funny or unique scene from within your layout, something that begs for a caption, rather than just a "restaurant of the week" type photo. The winners will be the photos most conducive to creative captions (if I'm tracking with GM on this one).

And so my Android bretheren aren't left out this week, send me a VM or PM and I'll post a SS for you. I'll only ask that you try to come up with a funny/creative scene for me to SS, as opposed to simply taking a SS of your already existing layout, unless it is in and of itself already caption worthy.

I'd like some help in figuring the scenarios in the ones that eventually get picked. Since I don't play anything but city story, I honestly cannot see what is special about the shots. If I can get a clue or a brief explanation of what is happening, I'd love to try to come up with some captions next week!

Im not sure it matters if it's something unique to the game or different in some way. I think that if there's something that strikes you as funny about the screenshot, or something which can have a funny caption to it, then GM Will probably pick it.

Anyway I wouldn't stress about it till he picks the winners. After that you can get those creative juices flowing again. At this point it's just mental masturbation. But hey, if you enjoy it ...
