View Full Version : Extend downtime for Restaurant Story tomorrow (7/14/11)

Please be aware that Restaurant Story will be going offline tomorrow at roughly 3 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, and will remain down for several hours. This is to correct a technical issue currently present in-game.
As a result:
- ALL users will most likely lose all tip/gift progress from that day. Please use your gifts and collect your tips prior to this time.
- A small percentage of users may lose progress in Restaurant Story. If this happens to your account, please write into TeamLava Support, at support@teamlava.com, with a title matching or similar to Restaurant Story Lost Progress. Please provide them with your Storm8 ID (this is your forum name), and please specify what progress was lost. They will be able to research the issue and assist you with this further.
We don't have much more information regarding this downtime or its effects right now, but we are currently evaluating the issue, and we will update you as soon as we learn more.

TL always give notice if they can, don't they? This is not emergency.
Oh, and what exactly is the bug? Please don't say that you're removing all the extra appliances. That would actually be proper carnage. Complaints everywhere:/. Why am I so worried:confused:?

There was a bug where some users could glitch double appliances.

If all my food disappears then I will be so angry!! I have over a million tirimasu and BBQ chicken as well as other foods with more than 300 000.

You might lose the food if you're one of the people whose progress is lost, I suppose.

Suggestion: tomorrow at noon (PST) either screen shot your place(s) or write down what you have going on. I know a little time consuming, but easier to track everything. Just a suggestion!

Thank you for the advanced notice. It helps. I don't usually accept all 20 gifts until after 3pm so now I know I should, if I have them all by then. When I gift, I don't like to get the message that people have accepted the max gifts, so I assume others don't either and try to not accept the 20th until as late as possible. I'd wait until just before reset time but gifts randomly disappear so I don't want to wait too long.
I gift daily and haven't had to take a day off to reset back to midnight PDT since the servers started crashing a couple of months ago. The servers haven't crashed in almost a month and I need a reset. If you could have them reset all the gift times for all the games I'd appreciate that.

What about unused appliance parts?
I've collected a bunch but have no way of knowing how many. We also cant "use" them like with food gifts.

Awsome suggestion!! Loss of the 10000s and 10000s (0r the millions..lol)of plates oh well those can be replaced its the stuff we have spent money on. Also love the idea of a push nodification straight to the game not everyone uses facebook or even comes to the forums, mostly the newest players that have just started playing and have not figured it all out yet . Losing progress that early in the game might discourage some for continuing. Im just glad to get my morning fix!! Keep up the good work TL!

Hey, at least they gave us the time-frame. I saw the post on Facebook and asked why they didn't tell us what time because if they know for sure it will happen then they should be able to give us the approximate time and here they are on here only giving us the approximate time. At least I'll be at a meeting then so I wouldn't be expecting to play it anyways. I'll just make sure nothing is cooking.

To be frank, we aren't sure how it will affect everyone's in progress appliances. It shouldn't, however.
@sissy, no idea... pretty sure Europe has more than one Time Zone. For reference, it's about noon (12 PM PDT) right now. So three hours from now.

Too true. I emptied my appliances at noon so I wouldn't forget and lose it. Its a bit difficult with all the different time zones. I helped one of my neighbors in Korea figure what time shutdown would be for her. :)

Its 7:18 here in Virginia....no restaurant reservations available...hope maitenance is done soon. any time frame update. just got home from work. forgot the maitenace was this afternoon so i may loose some pie. :0( but i can always make more. lol

I'm assuming this is the reason I can't seem to access the game. It keeps telling me I have no Internet connection when Bakery Story is working perfectly fine... :/

I'm sorry. I feel really bad that some of you took my joke seriously. I mentioned the purple furniture earlier in the thread and was just carrying it over. I hope that one of the updates will include purple furniture since it is sorely lacking, but it wasn't in this last update which was done for maintenance, and not for new features.
Maybe I should open a new thread requesting purple furniture. I opened one a couple of months ago but that's history now.
Let's hear it for purple furniture!
