Wall notifications message but to button

On either wall RS or BS I get the message from neighbors and visitors but not button on wall and news feed I turn my iPod off and then I get them. Then I go the other BS or RS and have to turn my iPod on and off again.

I don't think you need to turn it off, I just exit the app and return. It's tedious to turn the device off and back on just to do this.
