how do i send or request parts?

I am fairly new the game...and have tried to browse forum for answers. :confused:But I have been able to find how to send food as gifts but can't find out how to send or request parts. I'm not sure if it matters but I play on Android-based phone, HTC Evo. I have had a few of my neighbors ask me via wallpost about sending one...but other than that I have no clue.
Sorry if this is a re-post of the question so please move if needed.

Since I haven't received any responses...could someone at least point me in direction where I can find the answer? I have had other players ask me this "in-game".

Android users don't have the option to send or request materials. Supposedly TeamLava is working on developing these processes for androids but there's no estimation of when they might be available.
