sending gifts on new update

I'm getting requests for materiAls but it won't give me an option to send anything other than food. Am I doing something wrong?

Are on android? I know some android users can currently now gift the materials but because for some reason the construction process for some buildings isn't compatible with the android versions so you wouldn't be able to use them yet.
