By CA style I mean the stucco walls and red clay tile roofs. Jacarandas (pronounced "hacka-randa") are these beautiful, purple flowering trees, and as the flowers start to fall they literally carpet your yard/driveway/street with purple blossoms, it's breathtaking. As for butterflies, I just think it's be nice to somehow add them hovering over existing flower crops.
