I have plenty of Aspens left from last event so hopefully I can use them for this event. Getting that seems like a good hint that we will use Aspens again

I force-closed my game and reopened it. Then I was able to upgrade my bridge.
Upgrade the Under Bridge Tailor to Level 2 by paying one wood.
This gives a free Troll Wheel into your inventory (you can buy another Troll Wheel for 160 gems if you want).
Troll Wheel has a 2-hour timer.

The regular glimmer goats are found chopping trees; I prefer the crabapple but any tree works. Crabapples grow faster and take 10 hits to clear. The glimmer goats take 5 hits and give one token. The angry goats take 8 hits and I think between 1 and 2 tokens but I started counting late. I think the plain goats stiffed me once on tokens so it might not be a guaranteed drop.

Am I missing something. We only get one troll wheel?
Waiting two hours for one tangled thread. So I now have four. This is going to be such a slow start. I don't think I want to spend 160 gems on another wheel.

I am thinking the same thing. The wheel is not dropping threads at a reasonable rate. I was hoping there would be a regular object that we could chop, clear, collect, etc so we could play and not have to wait 2 hours just to get one thing. I am going slow for bobbins in case I can’t collect enough thread. No need to waste resources and energy.

Paying gems for an item that provides a single event use does not make sense to me. If these items offered good value afterwards, I might be more inclined to get them (been burnt on this before). I really think the baby goats in the bed are SO cute… they are really tempting!!! LOL

Hope I am just missing something and find thread elsewhere so I can collect more threads and enjoy the event

To gather Haystack Needle, you have to tend to a black pig.
Sir Pigglesworth also counts as a black pig, I just collected from him

Edit: Pink pigs also work. I wonder why the game said: tend to black pigs.

I have noticed that goals will say something and behind the scenes it will actually have other items that reward the drop as well.

To gather Haystack Needle, you have to tend to a black pig.
Sir Pigglesworth also counts as a black pig, I just collected from him

So do white pigs. (seems royal pigs don't like haystack needles)

I'm spawning more fangbeasts and skunkupines than goats in either trees and farmhouses.

*snip* I wonder why the game said: tend to black pigs. *snip*

I think it's probably because the Black Pigs are the ones that cost coins and every player has access to while other pigs cost gems or were limited time options that not everyone will have. They usually list the main, coin version of items with the drop and it's implied that most of the specialty versions of it will drop that item as well but if said all pigs then players would be upset if a specific specialty version didn't have the drop.

From their end it's better to list a specific that's definitely coded to drop and have players be happily surprised to get the drop from more sources than the other way around, lol.

You mean once you?ve reached level 5 to get to level 6? I?ve already forgotten what I needed to get to level 5. It was 3 of the thing that required Troll Paste.
To get to level 6, you need to battle 2 Enraged Goats - they?re huge!! And collect from Sparkling Mines. You will need Iron Ore for the next craft.

3 tame goats to craft and as posted in the pics, you need 30 iron ores, 2 chewed straps and 8 silver bells to make the goat collar in the magic forge, before crafting the tame goats in the goat barn (1 collar, 1 light armour and 1 long sword). Silver bells are not guaranteed drops from sparkling mines, chewed straps from defeating enraged glimmer goats that spawn from under bridge tailors (guaranteed spawns, drops 1 strap, tailors has 1h collection time) so bottleneck would be the sparkling mines. The goat medallions needed to craft the other goats are obtained from defeating spawns from farmhouses, chopping trees and collecting from a level 5 (I think?) under bridge tailors.

At what point does Gingham the Tailor come in to play? I don’t see him as a reward or to purchase.
And some feedback about the event…
I love the fact that expansion permits are part of the bonus package. That’s awesome!
I have a question about the artwork. Why are some of these buildings not at the same scale as the rest? The goat barn, for example, is so small. The Gingerbread Castle and the Temple of Lights were also very small. I stored them because I don’t like the way they look. I appreciate the fact that they are 2x2, but isn’t there a way to make these buildings larger? Just my two cents.

This is something every player has to think about and decide for themselves. What I deem 'worth' my time and efforts, another may not. It's all about a player's own personal playing style and preferences, really. Some do every goal, some opt out of all of them while others still only do the ones that offer drops they want or art they enjoy. What a player at a higher level needs or is able to accomplish isn't going to be the same as a lower level, newer player.

When it comes down to it, Castle Story is a game we each play for own reasons and in whatever manner brings us the most fun and joy :D

Back to Barbarix's question (I'm not good at snipping and multiple quotes): In this particular event I want the goats because I've had goats in real life and can't have any right now -maybe someday I will again. But I can at least enjoy the artwork of these goats, and I would like the tailor drops from the bridge.

I opted out of the Mama Yana event because I thought it was too much work and I did not like the artwork, but now I regret it since she is apparently dropping a ton of Seeker's Coins. So there is also a feeling of FOMO when I skip events.

I skip a lot of events that I feel are too much work. I am also tired of slogging through some storylines that I feel are never going to end, so I'm taking a break from a bunch of those now, too. Just play what seems fun to you and don't feel like you have to do every event and every storyline.

If you finish the goals normally yes you have enough medallions to craft all 3.

I have all 3 goats but now there is a locked goal that I have no clue what it is nor how many medallions are needed for it.

The Locked by Goal with the question mark is only a coding placeholder that allows crafts to be in the Goat Barn, or another way of explaining would be it that it allows it to be a crafting building and then change to a decoration post event. hope that helps! :)

edit: goal 10 has a different goal than the 3 crafts that were in the barn from the beginning. The Tame Goat uses the Goat Collar craft (with the sparking mine drops etc) and is a different goat.
10 Place the Goat Barn (Buy this from the Market!) x1
10 Tame a Goat (Tame them in the Goat Barn!) x3
10 Upgrade the Under Bridge Tailors to Lv. 6 (Use your upgrade supplies!)

yes indeed, it is always the same behaviour for these kinds of events.
For those who wish to summon multiple goats in the barn, be aware that once you summon the Enraged Glimmer Goat, then all 3 goats become unavailable in the barn (even though the cap for each says 10... go figure... )

72862

so I guess you can summon multiple Glimmer Goats and Angry Glimmer Goats, but only one Enraged Glimmer Goat, which then shuts down your barn right away.

Don't neglect to collect from your first Tame Goat like I did. I had to put him right near my bridge so that I'd spot him every time I collected from my bridge. We need 108 laces. It seems to be taking a while before I can make my second and third Tame Goats.
Edit: I am referring to Goal 10. The goal SW posted about just a few posts back.

No medallions are needed to craft the Tame Goat.

The value pack costing around ten dollars only provides two Troll Paste. Even if the event extends to the end and I need six Troll Paste to upgrade to LV7, I would have to purchase it at least three times, which feels quite expensive!
You can also just gem a needed item. If you aren't interested in the entire Value Pack. Sometimes speeding up a timer on something costs fewer gems than gemming the item in the crafting building. Other times, gemming a finished building is cost effective (i.e., Community Events). So that $10 goes further if used on gems, if you only need a few things.

Yes, I have been eyeballing the variance of which is more cost effective between gems for certain items vs gemming to skip so I can avoid the battle of trying to collect every 1-2 hours (while maintaining a full time job lol), and comparing the cost of the value pack vs what you get for the current event. I am still contemplating the VP for the lanterns and permits. Then the event stuff is a bonus lol

Every event I have to make the call at some point whether I want to take the time to get to the end (I have the energy and free time; just have to decide if I want to monitor the game that closely). At this point in my Castle Story journey, I am mostly about the d?cor, and not really a goat fan. Sometimes I check how many of the end game prizes have drops I like. If only one does, and the concept is not that appealing, then maybe I'll stop. But give me cats or horses or classical themes or something I think is cute, and I am all in!

S8 - it would be more helpful to players if Goal 11 had us only need to make 1 hat, all levels

For people who don't use this forum, they won't know the last level upgrade requirements until after they make 6 hats, which will be almost the last day. It will be 33+ goat collections for 108 fabric.

SummerSwan51

I felt like I was going along just fine, but realizing now what it takes to make a total of 12 hats is disheartening. 12 is way too many. I could maybe see 8 at most. Or if the goats dropped more than 1 Holey Fabric at a time.

After reading your comment, I went back and looked at the goals again and WOW! it does have the hat listed for both goals 11 & 12. BUT… I am wondering if what is crafted in goal 11 will count for goal 12 if in inventory. SO… I will hold off upgrading to level 7 until reaching goal 12 in hopes that items in inventory will count. (I am not sure if upgrading will be available before goal 12 but thinking ahead just in case).

I am also wondering if battling goats for medallions is worth it (before drops start for holey fabric). I have the 3 goats that medallions are needed for. Is there something else I missed for needing them?

This confusion comes from the fact that there is a coding error in Goal 11
In the past, during Goal 11, we only have to prepare 1 item (here 1 Fancy Hat) and then during Goal 12, we prepare all the remaining items in order to upgrade the Bridge to Level 7

This event is correctly coded for Low Level players, they only have to prepare 1 Fancy Hat during Goal 11, and the remaining 3 during Goal 12.
High Level players need to prepare all 6 Fancy Hats during Goal 11, and you won't have to prepare anymore hats during Goal 12.
Therefore, don't stop farming in order to prepare the required amounts of Sturdy Thread, Repaired Fabric and Repaired Flyers i.e. 6 / 8 / 6

I'm in the same place GiselleX, I love my little Queendom, I have been tending to it for a very very long time, but lately I find myself not participating in events anymore. There is no more room in my Queendom! We have not been getting any more new land space and I already have more stored energy than I could ever hope to spend in a lifetime. Indeed, I don't like goats either, so I totally skipped this one.

Let's hope they will start opening up more extra land plots (not just the ones that come with the main story line) and start creating more attractive content again!

After a quick look, it seems that one Holey Fabric requires 16 Gems. If we need to fulfill the crafting of six Fancy Hats, it would cost over 1,300 Gems ? quite expensive!

You can speed up the Under Bridge Tailors, which is guaranteed to spawn an Enraged Goat, for 2 gems. So if you have the energy, you can battle a lot of goats in a short time for only a few gems. But if you don?t have energy, I don?t know what to tell you. There is almost a week left in the event, so there?s time. 1 hat per day means battling 14 of those goats per day, and you can visit the bridge every hour and the Tame Goats every 2 hours.

Hi LadyLake! I?m not sure if your issue was really addressed. What are you tapping on to get an Enraged Goat? You need to tap on the Underbridge Tailor and the Tamed Goats to spawn the Enraged Goat. If one of those spawned a goblin, it must have been a mistake. These types of mistakes do sometimes happen, despite what others may tell you. If that is what happened, you should report it in bugs and issues. If I didn?t answer your question, please ask again. 😀

I only have always grown the pink crab apple trees and they consistently work well for all events. I like them cause of their short watering time to grow mainly plus purchase price is good. Spawns were 1 each tree, but there were trees that didn't spawn anything, but never 4. Stay with aspens for the main story, but maybe mix it up a little and plant a few different ones and see what happens. All games tend to behave differently for some reason, but that's what has worked for me.

Six hats seems like too many. I've had a lot of real life things which has taken me away from the game for longer than normal. However, one fabric per defeated goat is very slow going given we need 14 per hat. Lower levels only need one hat. Usually the higher levels aren't required to produce 6 times the item that of lower levels. Perhaps 3 hats would have been plenty, but 6 is too many.

It is unfortunate that this will be an unfinished event for me. I knew I would not have enough time to finish crafting the hats I can?t babysit the game. I set timers however with little ones and work sometimes I can?t make it to the game in a timely manner. I was hoping to skip that step with gems however it is not an option. My biggest issue has been the Tame Goats dropping 3 items every two hours. It takes to too long to wait for them and because of real life I miss drops during the day. I didn't start on my hats until 2 days ago and so it's going to be impossible to finish unless I buy the value pack. I can gem ahead the bridge to spawn the enraged goat but then I run out of energy. It's tough to be a high level player with limited energy. Some of my weeklies have cycled through but I only have 5 of the 40 energy droppers so that goes fast when there's alot of chopping like this event. I'm truly stuck in no-man's land with never enough energy but high-level. I always have to use gems or the value pack to finish. Congrats to those that finished!

I agree… honestly, if I had not used value packs, I probably wouldn’t have completed the event. There are too many low and random drops for some items and the energy they require is massive. I don’t mind chopping trees for items, but let me get items for my effort. Not 1 per tree or even sometimes none per tree. And having to depend on a random spawn to maybe get 1 … these are difficult to do. Having a family and a full time job can limit time in the game.

Same - level 50 but no banked energy. I have several weekly energy droppers now, but I try to mainly save them for battling the 90 hit goblins on the weekends. However, I'm never going to get enough Seeker's Coins to get a Crystal Fox or Alicorn, so maybe I should just stop trying.
I'm finishing this event because I bought some vaue packs at the beginning and have been babysitting my game. I need to wean myself off of spending all my time on my phone, though. I hope you find a way to finish! Good luck wishes being sent your way!

Me too! I think I will be able to collect enough fabric for the hats, but I definitely will not have enough time to collect all of the lace needed from the tame goats. I've started to use gems to speed up those collections. I love this game, the graphics are beautiful, but the events are not fun. It would be nice to have some fun events.
Best of luck to everyone!

I agree with you, the two hours dropping from the Tame Goats is too long. To storm 8: Why cant we have more then 3 Tame Goats? I am a long term player, have plenty of energy, and play day and night. I dont think this event is doable without buying packages or using gems to speed up the goats. Making 6 Fancy Hats is a lot! So if this is a taste of how events will become in the future, you will make a lot of players angry and frustrated. Yes, some players will probably use money, to keep up. But?. You probably will lose many as well. So please keep this in mind in your development of this game. I love this game, and have played it for many, many years. This will be the first time I cant finish an event. So please, time we cant manage its only 24 hours in a day, and most of us have to work (and sleep!). Its almost a day left of the event, please change the dropping rate from the goats, or make us collect every 30 minutes or so. I think we hardworking players deserves it! All events should be able to finish without using money or gems. If we need a loooooot of energy, thats ok, but time we can not change.

Yes, this format of goal is by far the hardest to finish more due to the amount of time needed to be in game, especially to collect from the goats for those last items. I am so grateful that riverly posted (page 10) about collecting from the tame goat as soon as it was placed, cause I had mine sitting there for day waiting not realising I should be collecting from it. I've finished last night but I did break my all time rule about opening the game when I wake up during the night. Talk about self-sobatage in getting back to sleep!

I did the same thing last night - collected from the tame goats in the wee hours of the morning! ;)

I'm very thankful for this forum, thank you to everyone who helps out so that we can be prepared for these events!
I did start collecting from the tame goats as soon as I placed the first one, but still have not been able to collect enough items from them. I need 23 more lace ...

Thanks, 58 rainbow. In reading the posts, I had read something about 1 hat for lower levels. Maybe it was what happens sometimes where they have you make one or two of an item as part of the goal, but then the upgrade requires more of that item.

I still say 6 hats are too many (and 4 are too many for lower levels).

Banking energy is a natural progression of gameplay, but it's a long term goal. I mostly spent real money on energy droppers instead of value packs but I had time to work on an event, setting timers and such. Good luck.

I found that the lace was for sure the bottleneck and I ended up with extra chewed straps that went to waste. Couldn't craft anymore Tame goats.
I just checked my inventory. I ended up with 18 bells and 99 chewed straps that I couldn't put to use. I'm not a fan of the set limits.

It's doable if you go at it day and night. I'm a long-time player, and I finished all the crafting last Thursday without spending money on value packs or gems on speeding up. I'm holding on for the final upgrade to craft more goats.

I do have a huge reserve of energy though.

Well I broke down and bought two of the value packs containing the hat. I don’t think S8 puts much thought into the players who cannot check into the game every 1-2 hours for essential items. However after many years of playing I don’t think this will change. I guess for players like myself and others we have only a few options.

1. Don’t finish the event
2. Spend money on value packs and gems
3. Try to check into the game as many times as possible day and night.

I'm trying to decide if I want to craft a another Glimmer Goat and call it good or expend some gems and cash in on some of my weekly droppers to get 30 more tokens for a second Enraged Glimmer Goat. I'm afraid I'll forget to do the final upgrade if I don't finish soon. Ugh!

I had a goat who looked kind of like the Glimmer Goat, so think I should just craft it, but the Enraged one has such better drops.

OK, I believe you, but it depends on if you can play at work, and almost no sleep at all. Or bye setting timer every second hours during the night, collecting from goats. I think I will finish in tim, using gems to speed up my goats.

I gave up. There?s no way I can finish. I?m a long time player too. I bought gems twice, not the value pack since I have enough wisp lanterns and ONE hat wouldn?t make any difference. The wait times to collect are too long and sometimes they don?t drop the needed items. These events aren?t fun anymore.

Thank you! I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to accumulate any more goat medallions after I upgraded.

I went ahead and got a second Enraged Goat. Battling each one gives about 3 medallions and only uses a net 6 or so energy, so I was able to do it pretty quickly without expending too many gems (to spead up the Bridge) and energy. Very happy with my goat herd! :) It used to be my goal to have a real life herd of goats (I have a ranch but work in the city) but it seems like it might be too time intensive (sort of lke this game - Lol!), so I'll have to settle for these pixel goats for now.

I was chugging along this event just fine but then the dreaded real life decided to be extra needy. Made it to the hat stage, did the math and realized I'd have to use gems to finish.

Looking at what the prizes drop I decided to just sit the rest out and grab the missed items in future sales. While the drops are good, I've been maxed on the tailor items and expansion items for ages now so I think this is one miss that won't hurt too bad, lol.

And don't get me started on the Realm Master.... that was never an option this time since the group I was placed in has got to be the most competitive I've seen. Even if real life was being kind this week I wouldn't put forth that much time for a mystery dropper regardless how cute it is ;)

Congrats to those who finished!

I agree? honestly, if I had not used value packs, I probably wouldn?t have completed the event. There are too many low and random drops for some items and the energy they require is massive. I don?t mind chopping trees for items, but let me get items for my effort. Not 1 per tree or even sometimes none per tree. And having to depend on a random spawn to maybe get 1 ? these are difficult to do. Having a family and a full time job can limit time in the game.

Yes the tree thing was definitely an issue. Sometimes it took 4-5 trees for me.

I ended up using gems to speed up the Tame goats to get enough of the green fabric to make the hats. I also bought the final value pack in order to get one more hat. Since I knew I would end up buying the pack for the last hat, I didn't waste energy or more gems on building some of the other items since the value pack had those as well. I just hope the drops are what the splash page said after spending cash. I did the same thing last summer with the Katelyn fairie pool event and that was a mistake. She was supposed to drop anemones and coral reefs and energy. Very rare on the ocean drops and only energy occasionally and it's never been more than 1. I don't even bother collecting from her anymore except during weekend warrior.

I had alot of leftover parts too. The time issue with the Tame Goats turned out to be the toughest part but it also started with the poor collection rate and the time issue with bells from the Mines. That poor collection rate and long time in between set me back days. That's what really started the cascade of issues for me. I ended up spending cash and used a bunch of gems to speed up timers. Really, really tough event.

Thanks for the tips. I always get FOMO on these events LOL. I tell myself to skip and save energy and just collect it but I always give in. I need better control lol but they make the events so enticing!

I spent money on gems and value packs. I figured I spend money on streaming apps each month and most of the time I don't watch much from them. Another way to look at it is a Large Pizza costs $20. You eat the pizza and that's it. The Value Pack is anywhere from $4.99-$9.99 plus tax and you get to "keep" the items and enjoy them in game play. So that's a way to justify the expense. The Pizza Rule. Lol.

I agree that I hope the splash page is accurate. It should be, but now that you mentioned Katelyn, I am concerned. You are exactly right about her. I don't think I have ever received an anemone or coral reef, and have only received the one energy as well. I didn't do that event but spent a large number of gems to get her! I also wonder why they quit having sales at the end of events, like being able to purchase one of the prizes or having a "supplemental" item that goes for the event for $1.99.

That's what I thought, too. Everything but the kitchen sink! Unfortunately, she was completely out of reach for me on this account, but I worked my tail off on an older account and managed to get her. I want her for her more than for her drops.

5 day collection time is disappointing.

Happy with my goat herd. Definitely a difficult event to complete. Does the team hear our feedback about this stuff? Years ago there used to be polls after events asking for feedback. Obviously SpiritWind doesn't need any more work, but it seems a staff could pop in after an event and leave a poll asking for player feedback.

Any material event items currently in your inventory stay there forever. But over time they get pushed back further and further as newer items are provided. We don't get repeat events. In all my years we've only ever had 1 repeat. If you don't want the goats on your board then pop them away cause you can bring them back out of storage at any time. Hope that helps! :)
