General Expanding Notes:
* You can expand using gems or coins
* You must purchase expansions, in order and one at a time.
EXAMPLE:

* You cannot expand from 7x9 to 9x12 regardless of which payment method you're employing
* First, you have to purchase the 8x10 expansion before moving on to purchase the 9x12
* At any time you can tap on the arrows around your board to access expansions

* Tapping the arrows will give you a pop up that shows you the next expansion available and list the two options for purchase
* If you tap 'Buy' on one of those options, the game will automatically deduct the currency from your game and expand your bakery
* When purchasing expansions with gems, the neighbor requirements are usually negated and the level requirements are lowered
* How it works using coins:

* Expansions in Market will be greyed out until you've advanced to the level required to access an expansion
* Once you've met the level requirement, the expansion will unlock in the market and now list the amount of neighbors you need
* After meeting the neighbor requirement, the expansion in the market will now list how many coins it costs to purchase said expansion
* Once you've met all the requirements, tapping on the expansion in the Market will automatically deduct the coins from your bank and enlarge your bakery

As noted in the first post, the dates and timers are confusing and not matching up so I've PM'd Mod pixiegamer to ask the team for clarification and confirmation on what we can expect. Fingers crossed we get a timely response from the team so we don't spend the next two weeks in utter confusion, lol.

Anyone else got any guesses or more specific thoughts than my echo appliances? I just like to see how accurate my guesses end up being which is usually pretty far off from the actual item :D

It is worth noting that the RS day 1 was an image of one deco but they listed 3 for the sale so I'm thinking perhaps we'll get multiple items each day? It's interesting how different it is from last year's sale while still using the same premise and name...

It's super cool getting 12 days of sales but I really do wish we'd gotten some better Christmas sales in the standard format. Honestly, compared to Halloween and Thanksgiving Christmas was seriously shorted! I hope they give us at least ONE big standard sale for Christmas decos this year, perhaps as a New Year's offering?

I've reported this in the bugs forum HERE (https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?116161) for you. I think this is the third time this has happened with a ported chair from RS and it's usually fixed pretty promptly once the team knows about it.

Team replied that they've sorted this issue :) if you're not seeing an improvement you may want to reinstall the app which should help.

Please see Black Friday/Holiday Sales wish list in Forum. I just updated after all the sales. Really hoping we get a TON more before the end of the year. In these sales, I would rather them be items instead of expansions, coins, etc.

Yikes, the price gauging (gems) for ported over items is ridiculous. I will not buy any of these items from day 6. Kind of tired of seeing the trend of recycled items being recolored then sold for gems. Will be saving my hard earned money.

Really hoping for Snowman wallpaper, Peppermint Couch, Winter Branches wallpaper and tons of tables and chairs I need more of to complete my sets.
I am not buying items that I have in another game to keep the games distinctive to themselves.
Players if you want these items buy them in RS where available for low coins most of time. They are really taking advantage of us.

Totally agree about the pricing and wanting to see more decos that aren't regularly listed!

I don't mind the RS items being ported over but I realize this could be due to the fact that I can no longer play RS. Perhaps if I still played it daily I would feel the same about the ported items. It's definitely something I never considered before so I appreciate you sharing that perspective!

That aside, the NYE set is one of my all time favorites so I was happy to see it on offer. It's so pretty and can be used in most any layout - I can't even tell you how often I used them when I played RS. I would've loved to get a full set in BS but at these prices? NO WAY. If I I purchase 10-20 chairs/tables and 4-8 counters I would feel that I'd wasted my gems. I can't even imagine how many gems I'd have to waste to then get the wallpapers and floor tiles to cover an area large enough for said tables/chairs/counters. Ridiculous!

This is meant to be a holiday sale or, at the very least, a celebration of the holidays. Isn't it? Yet, nothing about the prices we've seen thus far could be considered a 'sale' nor have the prices given me the slightest hint of 'holiday spirit'. Sure, I was happy for a split second those few times I saw an item I wanted to purchase but that feeling gets wiped away immediately when I see how overpriced they are.

I feel like the team is going about sales in the wrong way. Basic psychology shows time and again that people buy MORE if they feel like they're getting a 'deal'. Following this logic means that if you offer an item at a lower price point, not only will more players make purchases but those that do purchase will spend more in total due to the savings they're getting. But when they list things at a higher price point, less players will make purchases and those that are buying items will buy far fewer in total than those in the first scenario. This seems pretty obvious to me but maybe I'm wrong. After all, I've only worked in retail for about 15 years now... ;)

I agree with Annira, this sale is so disappointing because everything is so expensive. Even with the new crate, Ive seen most of these items for up to half of the price they are offered for now. I would prefer a regular holiday sale over this at this point

As for the sale items today... Why didn't they relist ALL of the items from the releases?

For the 2014 Jan. 01 release there was also the: Snowflake Mirror, Snowflake Cookies and Winter Wedding appliances that they didn't relist for the sale. And on 2014 Jan. 08 there was: Winter Wedding (display), Ice Couch and Snowflake Fountain also released.

Don't understand why they'd only relist a few items from those days? :confused:

I don't understand why S8 kept trying to Rip us off here, make it FAIR S8. You have more players on Bakery Story than RS, this is your main source of income, you probably should do your very best to retain us players rather than pissing us off. The "SALE" price 12 Gems we are bearing compared to the other platform (6 Gems), this is unjustifiable.

Think again S8, please revise this and make this fair for us like seriously

p.s. On the other hand, I would like to praise staffs who actually took our feedbacks into consideration such as bringing back the Bundle Package for new players. These are all that exciting and thank you to those who listened! Appreciate your hard work.

To see what they contain in your game, you have to tap on them. Once you tap you'll get a pop up that lists all the items in the bundle and the price at the bottom of the pop up.

Christmas / holiday times are typically when companies make the most profits, especially mobile games like BS.

I cannot fathom how S8 have fumbled the bag so awfully with this sale. The items were imported, overpriced, and limited. Only 5 sets of tables / chairs (including a 10 GEM table??). Only a total of 6 coin floor decoration items. Some sale items still locked for players. Embarrassing pricing irregularities with its sister game.

I genuinely cannot see this game lasting much longer if S8 continues down this exploitive path. All they have to do is listen to the community, amazing forum members like Annira have endless valuable insight that is already typed out in full on various threads. I hope 2024 is a year of reflection and change for S8, for the sake of our favorite mobile games

I agree with everything in this thread regarding the unfair treatment against us BS players and how great the sale is for RS. what a stark contrast in the difference in sales. Fire everyone with BS team and hire better more competent staff please. More and more players will leave this game if this continues. Oh and just in case you forgot team, the winter items are still locked, get it together folks…

As a RS player - the RS sale is much worse than BS. There hasn't been ONE table/chair for sale the entire winter. All of the wall decor, wallpaper, floors, and stoves are items that are either available for cheaper and are offered repeatedly. The BS sale is so much better from someone who plays both games. I haven't bought one thing in the winter, black friday, or 12 days sales in RS. The staff needs to get it together in both games. Every item from winter from the beginning of the game should be available starting Black Friday through end of April considering its all winter related (NOT Christmas - as snowman, santa, elves, etc have NOTHING to do with the true meaning of Christmas). I am unhappy with both games at this point from goals, to item quality/creativeness, and sales of items. Its always the same things. We have had the Winter Wedding stuff released the past THREE years. Where are all the tables, chairs, and older floor decor. Staff - please see the HOLIDAY WISH LIST in the forums for both games and DO BETTER!

I bought the Easter Bundle and it won't let me buy another one. Why can we only buy 1?

All iOS Bundles are a one time purchase. Once you've purchased it, it will disappear from your list and even if they're relisted in the future, you likely won't see the offer.

In my game I can only see the Cafe Bundle since I've purchased the others way back when they were first released! Of course, like all things s8 this could change in the future so keep that in mind.

There's a team reply in the Bugs Post which basically says they're short staffed over the holiday so the Winter Wedding items will likely remain locked but the items may be relisted again in future.
