Monster Hunt and Leaderboard Information

The following notes have been generally consistent from season to season. Season specific information may be posted in the respective discussion thread.

* Check you can spawn monsters!
* Pink Skunkupines don't drop tokens when you defeat them. They might spawn from pink and wedding alicorns.
* There are a range of horses and similar that will spawn the purple glimmer golem. Refer to link below for more information.
* Trolls may be included but they change from being included season to season.
* Monsters also drop their normal items in addition to the tokens.
* Do the Bronze Hunter Trade if you are nearly maxed on Shield tokens so that they don't go to waste.
* A Level 5 Jousting Arena will spawn a monster on every collection. Link to Jousting Arena Renovations (https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?83751-Castle-Story-08-06-Update-Jousting-Arena-Renovations-(levels-4-amp-5)) thread.
* The Mythic Research Center (from L22) crafts are available to craft anytime if you have the tokens.
* If it's your first Monster Hunt, the new trades might appear after you do 1 of any trade in the Trade Wagon.
* Remember to collect from Princess Lorelei's fountain for a chance at gold tokens (about a 1 in 3 drop rate)

* BLUE DIRE BOARS will only spawn once a day.

There's no armoured lyger in my MRC, but there is a snowball for 2 cabbages trade for 6hrs in my trade wagon. My LB is active, as is the specials pack. I've restarted 5 times now, so what's going on?

I've tried forced closing again 2 more times and it's been an hr and still no Armored lyger.

They?ve removed the token drops from the harpies in the Virtues storyline! I am trying to find where to put a support ticket in case it was an accident. Edit: I am putting this here because it is a token issue, as in using harpies to balance the sword/staff ratio, and I don?t know if it is actually a bug or they did it on purpose. Warming others so they don?t waste energy.

This post is for all player information: If an issue arises in an event that looks like it affects all players, (like no token drops), then you should post in Bugs and Issues forum. If it's an individual issue, then we would more than likely send a player to Support but if the team have time they may action an individual issue from a post in the bugs forum. Individual issues can also be posted in the Bugs forum and then I can help guide the player cause sometimes it's not a bug or issue. I predominantly only report and escalate issues I see in the bugs forum as a priority where I can gauge how urgent the issue is and how many players are impacted and are also posting they have the same issue. I hope that helps clarify why I keep asking players to post in the Bugs forum regardless.

I might sit this event out and concentrate on finishing the main story instead. The only item of interest in their droppings is the Expansion Permit. From experience, it's usually easier to win the lottery than to have them drop this ultra-rare item. Unless, of course, S8 decided to make the Expansion Permits a guaranteed drop.

I recall discussions from years back where players thought that one factor in the drop rate you experienced depended on your inventory. So, when you have 10 golden nuggets in your inventory and try to find more the drop is an Ultra Rare but once you have 85 golden nuggets in your inventory it becomes a Rare drop instead.

Since the company doesn't ever confirm or deny things, it was always just a theory but I remember being particularly swayed by the arguments for this and making a note to always try to keep the hardest to collect items at 45 in my inventories when possible. I know this was all purely based on anecdotal evidence but all these years later this is one of those theories that has stuck with me and something I think has been helpful in building up my game. Maybe it'll be of some use to you as well?

It seems something odd is going on. When I logged in last night, it wouldn't let me see the leaderboard at all. This morning it was back. I was thinking about purchasing a sale item for 15 minutes energy + some points - I need to chop some Ocean Reefs and thought that would give me enough energy to chop reefs and battle the numerous Aquanthers that will ineveitably pop up. Was also thinking about battling one of the forest spirits so I could advance in that storyline. Went into the game, and no more sale. It usually runs almost until the end of the event. Then with you not being able to log in - seems like something is wrong in the kingdoms....
