I doubt that; the recent floor-decor-prize 5-day goals seem to be theme-coordinated with the main goals (ex. Mad Scientist with Comic Con/Sci Fi theme; SF seafood as an extension of the Coastal Cali theme; Tropical Planter as an extension of Hawaiian goals, etc).

It's probably easier for the team to request 9 (maybe 12?) recipes all belonging to the same theme and then distribute them across different appliances.

I'm glad the recipes at least "match" the appliance this time around (still side-eyeing whomever decided to put macarons on a smoker appliance), but disappointed again that the prize is a market purchase :(

For whatever reason, the floor decor 5-day goal prizes in Restaurant Story seem to be either 4th place box prizes, or market items (most of which have still been available for purchase). I really wish the team would consider going in the direction of Bakery Story and listing 2nd place box prizes as goal rewards instead; or past LTOs; or even the "missing" box prizes that aren't ported over with mid-month Bakery boxes, as an avenue to get something "exclusive". (Or -- dare it be suggested -- NEW floor decor items).

These prizes feel a bit insulting for the effort the goals are asking to obtain them :/

Question did anyone finish goal and not receive prize? I completed goal and did not see "Masala Chef" in my inventory 😕 Will open a ticket with S8 support, but wanted to check if anyone else had this issue too?

5-Day goals are generally profitable, but these are lower earners for sure. Seeing as how I won't be finishing this goal (too many spoiled Kettle Corns :p ), I'll take some 'recovered' time to see if I can get in a quick analysis :)

UPDATE: The numbers (now with a spreadsheet in the spoiler tag! :p )

Summary of Findings:


Immediate Profit After Goal: +216,000 coins*
(Note: this is taking into account the +1,000 coins earned at each goal completion step, and the +2,000 coins you get after 8 cooks of each of the new recipes)

Total Profit After Taking New Recipes to Mastery: +458,680 coins, +6 gems*


* - this assumes buying only 1x of the Masala Stove appliance. For every additional Masala Stove purchased, subtract 10,000 coins from this total profit.

Checking in on something - a user reported the 'Chckpea' misspelling for the 3rd recipe and the team issued a fix, which would be applied for users after they closed/reopened their game, or uninstalled/reinstalled.

Been getting follow-up PMs that the misspelling is still there. Is anyone else still not yet seeing the fix?

By my estimation, and definitely by my experience, it's impossible to finish 5-day decor goals without two appliances unless you spend gems to finish quicker. Three is more comfortable, but even with two, you cut it down to the last several hours in order to finish on time.

At a bare minimum, with one appliance, you would need 10+30+80 hours = 5 full 24-hour periods. But that's assuming you had the parts to build the appliance from the very first second the goal started AND that you finished building it that very same second. That is unrealistic. Therefore, I think assuming a minimum of two appliances is more appropos.

Ah, yes - I briefly did an analysis of this (still writing out/editing the findings before I formally post it to the forums), but the number of required appliances to build, for both the 5-day and 14-day goals, is significantly fewer than what's actually needed to complete the goal within the given timeframe. The 14-day goals are barely feasible (time-wise) with the suggested 3x of each appliance; 4x or 5x is more realistic in consideration of time for parts gathering, possible food spoilage, and general downtime between when food is ready to be served and when the user actually gets to serving it.

In the case of the 5-day goals, it's trickier because these appliances are older and are freely available on the market for purchase - so users can buy them outside of the 5-day goals, and many users may already have some in their inventory from past purchases (or even prior 5-day goals if the appliance featured before). Some of my older neighbors will even gem out of the appliance-building step because they already have 10x of the appliance they built years ago and just don't want another.

The silver lining at least is that because the 5-day goals are relatively profitable, it's harder to sink into a net loss even with having to buy additional appliances, if necessary. With 14-day goals, it just sinks your losses deeper, period :(
