View Full Version : Help Storm8! My RESTAURANT is going BROKE! SLOW customers, high costs, low profits...

My bakery SHOULD have customers that take a bit LONGER to eat & leave than those visiting my restaurant but instead, they take about HALF as long to eat & leave. (I did a test to make a rough comparison between the two).

This fact in ADDITION to having to BUY A NEW APPLIANCE EACH TIME for the BONUS recipe in RS, ROUTINELY leaves my restaurant nearly BANKRUPT! (At least BS puts ALL the bonus recipes in ONE appliance that I DON'T have to keep spending EXTRA money on the new recipe)

What's worse is that I can never actually REALIZE the GEMS for most of these newer recipes! That's because I'm constantly being forced to cook OLDER recipes that PAY MORE to try and keep SOME money in my RESTAURANT! The newer recipes themselves are NOT paying NEARLY ENOUGH for me to earn what is needed to keep up with all the challenges we're being faced with!

(I'm going to try to include pics of the test runs but I'm not sure I know how to do it. The test shows how much time it takes for the 1st happy customer to leave the shops after the 1st customer enters. I did 10 customer enter/leave "laps" for both my RESTAURANT & BAKERY. The 10 shorter laps were from my bakery & the 10 longer "laps" were from my RESTAURANT.)

PLEASE STORM 8, if you're going to give us SO many DEMANDING challenges... please, PLEASE:

INCREASE the SPEED of our customers, INCREASE the PROFIT per PLATE of our new recipes, and let us have a SINGLE appliance that holds ALL the BONUS recipes! Or even better... LOWER THE COSTS & DEMANDS (and frequency) of the new challenges!

Like so many others, I've been forced to SKIP challenges to TRY to save enough coins but IT ISN'T HELPING! PLEASE Storm8... stop driving away all your long time LOYAL customers. Your attempts to earn more REAL money is ACTUALLY causing many who USED to spend REAL CASH to either resolve to NOT SPEND ANOTHER CENT on your game or just LEAVE outright! We LOVE the OLD ways & want them back!

Mentioned on previous post takes 29-30 seconds for customers in RS to finish plates once they're seated as opposed to only 9-10 seconds in BS. Slower to earn income, and slower to finish counters filled with food here in RS. Thought it was just me, guess not 😔

I can't figure out how to get my pics of the "test" (mentioned in the original post) onto this site from gallery AND clipboard. I also can't figure out how to bring over to this "response" a portion of the original text into a highlight box.

ORIGINAL TEXT [cut & pasted]:
[The test shows how much time it takes for the 1st happy customer to leave the shops after the 1st customer enters. I did 10 customer enter/leave "laps" for both my RESTAURANT & BAKERY. The 10 shorter laps were from my bakery & the 10 longer "laps" were from my RESTAURANT.]

There ALSO appears to be NO WAY for me to add anything but text. Soooo... guess I've gotta try to enter info by hand!🥵 Here goes:

BAKERY (shorter times):
[Lap] (Lap times) [Overall time]
[10] (00:25.53) [04:50.80]
[09] (00:28.13) [04:25.27]
[08] (00:28.32) [03:57.14]
[07] (00:29.78) [03:28.82]
[06] (00:30.30) [02:59.04]
[05] (00:28.86) [02:28.74]
[04] (00:22.17) [01:59.88]
[03] (00:27.83) [01:37.71]
[02] (00:39.95) [01:09.88]
[01] (00:29.93) [00:29.93]

RESTAURANT (longer times):
[Lap] (Lap times) [Overall time]
[10] (00:58.77) [08:13.64]
[09] (00:41.18) [07:14.87]
[08] (00:47.67) [06:33.69]
[07] (00:50.99) [05:46.02]
[06] (00:47.12) [04:55.03]
[05] (00:48.24) [04:07.91]
[04] (00:42.33) [03:19.67]
[03] (00:59.78) [02:37.34]
[02] (00:51.90) [01:37.56]
[01] (00:45.66) [00:45.66]

As you can see, there's a considerable difference between the two that quickly adds up over time & contributes to all the OTHER NEGATIVE factors that keep bleeding my (& YOUR) restaurant of its much needed COINS!

If my door/cashier/tables setup had been identical in both RS & BS, I'm certain that the average time for "1st customer until 1st happy customer out the door" would be roughly TWICE as long for RS as it is for BS!

I strongly believe that it's very likely the same for most (if not all of us) and S8 MAY be hoping nobody notices... although I TRULY DO NOT understand such counterproductive decisions.

Here's HOPING that they listen and CHANGE THINGS for the BETTER. But given how they've completely ignored (or did the OPPOSITE of) the ongoing POLL about our wishes RE: time, difficulty, & frequency of challenges, I don't think it would be wise for me to "hold my breath".😳

The placement of your tables and chairs, plus register, will determine the turnover in Both; RS & BS. Corral them up at the door!! The LEAST AMOUNT OF STEPS they take is what matters! Try it out... you'll be surprised!! I was!!

Saw your layout is efficient but it's not the shortest most efficient. That's been posted on forum while ago by Fecsuper L or T formation. Here's link to his thread.

But even then yes RS is still much slower than BS.

Hope it helps, have a nice day

It's no use complaining to S8, they've turned a deaf ear to all complains, no improvements are made anymore. What was once a relaxing game has turned into a demanding nightmare. I still try to play for long goals because to be honest i used to play when i was a kid and it was nostalgic to start playing again last year after so long but ever since then it has just gotten worse.

I've been having the same problem with longer eating times and less money. My restaurant is getting full of counters every where..and the quantity of the meals decrease extremely slowly. I still have around 40,000 dishes of the same item on the counter and it just keeps building up. And the repeated dishes (like root beer) cause an increase in quantity.. so now I have 60,000+ root beer..and now I'm running into a problem because counters are taking up so much space.. I can't design my restaurant and I can't even display the goal prizes because there's no room..and since barely any money is coming in.. I'm not going to be able to expand.. and then the goals start back up. My restaurant is going to be a museum of counters soon I feel. It's frustrating.
If anyone has a good layout..can you please share it?

P.s. I think the door placement might affect the speed.. the people were standing at the hostess table for almost 10 seconds before they started to go to a table.. once I moved the door back to the original corner (against the right wall) I noticed they were coming in faster. So idk if it could be the door position.

It helps to cook all roast chicken when you start to get too many dishes since they give 8 per dish and take two days. Definitely agree with the bonus appliances. I've never actually bought one for that reason.

@Jskelllz this was linked before by pcabral and is still by far the most efficient layout for your tables and chairs to get people in and out.

also, have they fixed that bug where sometimes if you block your door with a host table, all your food quick-sells overnight? that was pretty handy 😂

That's not a bug, it's just how the game works. The programming is written with the understanding that the customers will enter at a specific rate and blocking the doors may stop you seeing them enter, but it doesn't stop the programming from thinking they've entered. As such, the game will sometimes appear from our end to have sold all of our food in an instant Quick Sale but from the game's pov, it all sold steadily as it should.

Hey guys.. so I kept the door in the original corner..I just put it on the other wall. And I moved all appliances and counters to the side furthest from the door. And I made a small section of tables for the customers to eat close to the door. The rest of the space I filled with tables so people can tip. I haven't had a ton of tips but I have noticed an increase in my profits as well as counters finally clearing up and the quantity of dishes getting lower. I have tried this before but with the door in a different spot and it didn't do much. I think maybe something about putting the door in the original corner has helped. But I'm just guessing. Thought I'd share this. Hope it helps someone.

P.s. when my door was blocked..there wasn't an increase in the money
