Can't load orgininal farm story

I play on my Itouch. The other day when I went to sync with my computer it told me that I had an update, which I downloaded.
I now cannot open up the orginal farm story, but I can all the rest. This would not normally be an issue accept that I can't gift or accept gifts.
Any ideas?

try rebooting your device, if that doesn't work delete the game and resync it after a reboot
