Tips about the Event
1. You have one day to complete a chapter. The next chapter won't UNLOCK until the next day unless you use gems to bring the time forward.
2. If you finish the chapter early, you have to wait for the remainder of the time to expire before the next chapter starts.
3. You have to complete a chapter to begin the next chapter.
4. The chapter should not be completed if you want to keep collecting items or crafting until the 'next day' chapter begins.
5. If you take longer than a day to complete a chapter then the next chapter will begin straight away.
6. If you gem skip a chapter, you will need to wait until the next chapter is due to start. Eg, chapter 4 starts on day 4.
7. There are 2 sets of requirements for this event - Low level is 15-30 and High level is 31-50

However, I expect you will be given 2 of the rabbits once you reach the appropriate day. (We do not know which day it will be yet.) In addition to the 2 you will be given, you will have a chance of getting additional Lucky Rabbits as drops from the Lion Dance adventure.

Reminder to everyone: Do not send out a Castle Adventure on Day 2 of your storybook. We will be required to do an adventure in the castle on Day 3.
If you have an adventure in your castle, you will need to wait until it is complete to start the Lion Dance adventure for Day 3.

Place the House of Luck (Purchase in the market for 12,000 coins).
Requires 10 jewels, 30 stone, 20 Iron Ore, and 20 Coal to build.

Visit Lucky Dinner Tables (Purchase in the market for 5,000 coins each). Visit them 12 times (high level). You can collect from them every 5 minutes. Can purchase a maximum of 10. They drop Golden Napkin.

3. Clear 2 Paper Blossom Trees (purchase in the market for 2,000 coins each). These are really pretty!!! 15 whacks each, so takes 30 energy to clear 2.

4. Upgrade the House of Luck to level 2. Requires 15 Golden Napkins (from Lucky Dinner Tables) and 15 Paper Blossoms (from Paper Blossom Trees).

Only do the last goal of each chapter once you are done collecting/crafting or when the new day chapter can start. For me the new day chapter starts at 9 am so i usually hold off doing the last goal (usually upgrading the building) until i wake, collect from the building and then immediately upgrade it so i dont lose collecting time (the 8 hours start all over when you upgrade).

For day 2 you can only collect 99 each of flowers and napkins, the upgrade only uses 15 of each and there's nothing else to do for day 2 so you can choose to either close or remain open, your choice. However from day 3 on its best to keep chapter open till next day, and don't forget to keep your Queens keep free of regular adventures as that's when event adventures start, which are extremely vital and helpful. They give you the part ticked off and they drop items needed for rest of storybook items as well as some bonus items, which help with collection volumes.

Yes, you craft it in the Workshop with 40 Nian Masks. These you get as a drop from spawning the Enraged Nian from the Farmhouses.

The clock for the next day starts at the exact same time for everyone. I don't know where you are located, but it starts at 12:00 midnight Pacific Standard Time. I am in the Mountain Time Zone, so for me it starts at 1:00 A.M. If you are in another part of the world, I have no idea what the time zones are.

the clock starts the day you begin the event (you literally click on the Begin button). Just follow the goals and you'll be fine. If you choose not to click on the button, then the event will begin automatically in 3 days. There is more info now in post #2 on page 1 about how Storybook events work.

Double check your inventory to make sure they didn?t end up there.

Be persistent keep doing adventures, I just got an extra table and a fully grown mandarin tree. And remember not upgrade till it's time for the next chapter to start, to keep the adventures going.

Well your hatchery is your best bet. But other source are not as reliable as a mass farm of animals. In general, I get a roast chicken for every 4 energy.

The spring chicks are consistent roast chicken droppers. I'll have to take more notice but just 5/5 when collected. The trade post is good when it drops them too. Agree wholeheartedly with having a lot of Flyger cubs on your board if you have them. They're a great multi dropper.

Just waiting for my 6 bunnies to be ready for collection, makes tail end of storybooks boring too. I got 3 bunnies before they were needed, then when adventure that dropped 2, I got 3. Hope the next round of requests goes as well as the first. Done all of the first 3 crafting items for event, just got to wait for next one to be available. I actually don't like the waiting for items to become available until chapter parts are reached.

If you click on a neighbor, accidentally unclick, then reclick before hitting send, you will get this message. The request is still going out to that neighbor. So it's a bit misleading.

Also, for anyone, only 10 of the 20 messages in your news feed will show who responded to your request for help. The other 10 messages just show who has visited.

I’m trying to collect from the event items but have had 4 rollbacks in a row, each causing me to force close and reopen. It’s been a while since this has happened and now I’m getting frustrated. 1 is a tad annoying, 2 is tiresome, but 4 is frustratingly maddening!

Finished Day 8 (other than the upgrade) about five minutes after the new day started for me at midnight. Day 9 won't go as quickly! I have enough fireworks, couplets, lanterns, orchids, noodles, and dumplings to craft/upgrade through the end. Normally I spend waiting time like this doing expansions, but I just expanded one plot to extend my Forbidden City to allow these new decos. Now I have to build up my expansion supplies, particularly cloudberries, so I broke out the bushes.

i believe it's locked until day 3, when you are asked to start collecting from them. I also received a couple of saplings from an adventure before that day.

They are probably extras, (they will drop nothing till the chapter in which they are first used) when you get to chapter that uses them you will be asked to do a dragon dance adventure. The reward for that adventure is 2 trees ( be sure to look in inventory after each adventure for the prizes) Keep doing dragon adventures in the first few days without doing upgrade till new chapter is about due to start. If you upgrade too soon your collections from event items will not yield anything, similarly adventures will disappear from the list until next chapter.

If you look and read page one of this thread most of this information is there, then read a few of the posts by players and you may find all of your questions answered there.

I’ve just noticed that sparkling orchids, lucky rabbits, mandarin orange saplings, lucky dinner tables, etc. will not drop event items while I’m waiting for the next chapter!!! Is it normal? Such a wasted energy I’d used to collect them :(

Oh! Another thing is that since this event begins, my counting time til next chapter available aren’t show up for me. I only see the blank white square over the HR:MIN:SEC. But it’s ok, doesn’t effect on quest that much.

In The Luck of thr Dragon event, I finished Part 8, then it said I?d have to wait 4 hours or pay 90 gems to do Part 9, but after waiting until Part 9 was supposed to be available, the countdown is just all white. so there?s no timer, and the only option now is to pay 90 gems to continue.

I checked for app updates but the are none, and I?ve tried restarting, but nothing helps.

If you complete the chapter early, your event items will not drop anything until the next chapter starts. I think that is explained on page 1 of this thread somewhere.

Ok, in response to above 2 posts, the white blank spots are like that because your device setting have dark mode on.

If you finish a chapter and upgrade the building then all drops stop. Please read my notes on page 1 which explains how storybook events work.

In my experience when i start asking neighbors, after a few seconds i get a ?rollback? kind of thing which unchecks the neighbors i already checked. That number of neighbors is always the amount mentioned in the message (plus any double checked neighbors as mentioned by giselle)

You have a day plus part of a day. On the right side it rounds up to full days. In the goal you will have a count down counter so since you are on day nine you have one full day plus the time left before your day resets.

Kepp refreshing your game as your requests come in so you can more on to the next part as soon as you have all twenty.

First thing; you may need to close and reopen the game, that’s what I have to do (my counter said 16 but there were only 10 answers in my newsfeed. After the force close my counter read 20 even though there were no more in my newsfeed.

The counter on goals usually means how long till next chapter, unless you’re past that section then what ever it reads is your time left.

I have the same issue (17/20 since the end of the first hour after the start of Day 9) and just like the previous events of this kind, I (and you also) will be stuck at 17 until the start of Day 10

I have 295 neighbors, and this time, I chose to send requests to everyone except 10 from a group I know for sure are active and playing this event.
I then successfully sent requests to these 10 players a couple of hours ago, after being stuck at 17/20 for 5 hours.
Guess what... nothing changed

I have 295 neighbors, and this time, I chose to send requests to everyone except 10 from a group I know for sure are active and playing this event.
I then successfully sent requests to these 10 players a couple of hours ago, after being stuck at 17/20 for 5 hours.

There is definitely something wrong. I sent out my invites for the sticky rice bowl several hours ago and have only 1, but yet all the active players I have sent my invite to, I can see their requests to me. I also know that at least 1 person I sent a request to, never even got my request at all. I’m not spending gems or money on this, I have tons of active neighbours, there should be more, if not all 20 showing by now. So if that’s the idea, that’s just awful. I’ve spent so much time on this event, getting stuck now is not fun.

I have 211 neighbors, many of whom are from long ago and should probably be purged. I keep a list of who asks and who sends. At midnight PST I sent out requests to about 50 of the neighbors who have been so involved in the last few events. I had 8 responses before I went to sleep, and 17 when I woke up. I then sent out a dozen or so more requests to Stormie and those who had asked me. I had the 20 within an hour.

I think you can only send a max of 20 gifts per day? I have responded to every request but they are no longer coming so I think I hit the max. That could be why some of you aren't seeing responses from neighbors; they may have maxed out. I have accepted all neighbor requests and hope they/you are all planning on being long term players (my kingdom is Storybrook). But I may not be able to send any more gifts until tomorrow.

Yes! Extremely annoying! I sent 40 request right when the day started and woke up to only 4 responses. I have a few hours left only, I have sent so many more request and I’ve been on 17 for the last 4 hours! We shouldn’t be depending on anybody else’s actions to complete a goal. They need to stop this friend requests as I feel some ppl do not respond on purpose if they see you’re ahead. Stop the friend request storm8! ��

This is typical, there is a bottleneck somewhere, and there are always issues with getting responses back. I agree, though this time, it is awful. I have never had a situation before where I am not getting any responses from neighbours who just asked me for the same item. On a positive note, there is an improvement from the old days when we had to collect responses on the last day of the timed quest.

Question about the lucky noodles: do we need 20 for lvl 10? Because it says only one dragon tribute so thats 10, and the other craft doesnt need noodles but dumplings

There are two different descriptions of what is needed for the New Years Feast. The description under ?crafting information? says it takes 10 lucky dumplings, 5 silver, and 10 orchids. Under ?base resources?, it says that it takes 10 lucky noodles, 5 silver, and 10 lucky dumplings.

I am hoping that one of these is right, because I can handle either one, but could be in trouble if I need other event items that I don?t have a supply of.

Looks great! I am making the dragon tributes. It?ll be close but I should get it finished just in time! I woke up super early to re send more invites and then finally finished the sticky rice balls! Something definitely was wrong with my invites yesterday lol! But, I now have a ton of new neighbours so it all worked out!! I will be responding to requests as much as I can today! It usually means to close the game (swipe it off the screen) and reopen it. If you don't have a lot of memory, it might also help to restart your phone after closing the game. That clears short term memory (I know there is a more technical term). Visiting other kingdoms (plus this game) uses a lot of memory.

Tips about the Event
1. You have one day to complete a chapter. The next chapter won't UNLOCK until the next day unless you use gems to bring the time forward.
2. If you finish the chapter early, you have to wait for the remainder of the time to expire before the next chapter starts.
3. You have to complete a chapter to begin the next chapter.
4. The chapter should not be completed if you want to keep collecting items or crafting until the 'next day' chapter begins.
5. If you take longer than a day to complete a chapter then the next chapter will begin straight away.
6. If you gem skip a chapter, you will need to wait until the next chapter is due to start. Eg, chapter 4 starts on day 4.
7. There are 2 sets of requirements for this event - Low level is 15-30 and High level is 31-50

You have I believe up to three days to begin the event - it doesn't start automatically; you have to choose to begin. Those of us who started immediately (which would have been 11:00 am PST on a Thursday) have now gone the 10 days.

Nor did I, the only reason I bothered completing the event was to get the Lunar Faerie! I thought she?d be a daily collection like most event prizes, 7 day timer?s usually mean a higher yield so hopefully this will be the case otherwise it was probably a waste of time and energy again! When I was first playing there was no such thing as trade ticket droppers, either daily or wkly. I would have played just as hard back then because it took forever to do enough trades to craft a permit. The Luna Faerie is guaranteed to drop a trade ticket with the occasional expansion permit, which I consider a bonus. Every little bit helps.

I haven?t participated in an event in months (except Monster Hunts - I look forward to those), but I participated in this one due to the beautiful artwork. I don?t necessarily care a lot about the drops one way or another, but I?m disappointed that the Lunar Faerie has a 7 day timer. I completed the event on 2 accounts, and my other 2 accounts will make it part way. Hoping to get Nian and rabbits on those accounts and be done. Anyway, my point is that some of us play for aesthetic reasons more then practical ones, I guess.

Not 100% guaranteed. I almost always, but not 100%, see the requests from my other accounts. The few times my timer has been stuck, it's not because my neighbor wasn't logged in/playing. Sometimes I did not *get* the request, other times I got it, sent the item back, but it didn't show up in the account supposed to get it. I will mention, I went years without any problems. When it first occurred, I cut my neighbors down to under 200. Right now I have around 150 neighbors and things are still taking a loooong time to load up the neighbor list, as well as the Community list. I am thinking to cut further down to around 125. I am still adding people who ask for all 4 accounts, and deleting the accounts from years ago when I had the Invite button open, and added people randomly.

I am also editing/removing a lot of Wall posts. For people who never check their wall, it may be huge and impacting how fast the game loads. Especially on older devices.

I did get another Paper tree for whatever reason when collecting from the Lucky building. I was hoping after the event ended these items like the Rabbits would drop more items like in past events. Not sure why I got a paper tree though. Already have plenty of those leftover from the event and don't need that many for deco. Sure wish we could sell event items and unclog our inventory.

Just because the event is over for you does not mean that the event is over for everyone. It isn't until the event is over for everyone that the items from the event will start their normal drops. See page 1 to see what each item will drop.

Did the same, my level 17 account finished at level 19 and could not finish due to mass shortage of Jewels. Like you I swallowed all my energy getting Jewels.

Just because the event is over for you does not mean that the event is over for everyone. It isn't until the event is over for everyone that the items from the event will start their normal drops. See page 1 to see what each item will drop.
