Using neighbors to expand

Does anyone know how to use neighbors to expand the square footage of the store?
Everytime I reach the number of friends needed( 7 for example)
The option disappears. So I tried for 15, same thing. As soon as I got 15 friends, the option to use it disappeared again.

the amount of coins it takes to purchase an expansion won't appear until you have reached a required number of neighbors

Expansions can only be purchased after you have enough coins and neighbors

when u reach the num of neighbors needed then u can buy the expansion

team lava u really should add an explansion in the help section
