Love the look of this sale! Pity I can't buy some things as I'm already maxed on them, however super glad I could buy more glimmer alicorns. I've been wanting more since I won my first one yrs ago.

I'm sure the mint choc Ali was less when I bought one last yr, but I prefer daily's now, as most drop more than 40 nrg over 7 days anyway.

I'm hoping the speculation about day 4 prize includes the golden mine. I'm already maxed on them but my recommendation is if you can afford one buy it. They drop a golden item every day along with things like jewels and silver ore. (of course except if you're already maxed on that particular day. eg full on golden eggs and the drop that day is golden egg you won't get another one)

can anyone explain the expansion portion for me I know that sometimes when the exchange lowers its time they also do something about expansion but every time I've looked at my expansions they're still the same amount of materials nothing changes so am i missing something like is there a secret area to expand in

Last time the Alicorns were 600 gems 300 if it was on sale. It's what all the stores do. As soon as deal times come around they bump up the actual price of said item then say they've taken a percentage of the price off so you think you're getting a deal. However as soon as deal times end the prices go back to normal. Very sneaky good marketing for those who don't keep tabs on the actual price

Regarding the price increase that we have expierenced the past few months on Gems and now on Sales as well, I think that the costs of running a business have increased for all businesses, and so they have to reflect that in their pricing. It's not just us (the consumers) that are facing inflation and a barely functioning economy, the businesses, even if they have a digital product, are facing problems too.
That's not to say that I like the increase, because combined with my diminshed buying power, I end up purchasing a lot less than last year. This game has become quite an expensive hobby sadly, but I still hope that S8 will be able to keep things afloat! Whether or not I will be able to take advantage of these sales, I want to express that a 12-days sale with lots of desirable items is grand and wonderful, even if it means window-shopping for now. Thank you S8!

If you have already expanded to those plots, or if they are locked by unexpanded plots, you won?t be able to take advantage of the sale. Also I think when you click on a sale plot, it just shows the reduced cost without indicating the sale (they used to highlight the discount when it was half price but not since they reduced the discount).

I'm quite sure that the Mint Chip Alicorn was on sale for 600 gems last year. I have wanted one ever since I saw one in deadpixel's Queendom. :) So almost 2 years now. I talked myself out of it last year. I think 600 gems is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, that is what was kind of frustrating for me. deadpixel said she got her MCAs from the Baron's Tent. Then they want to charge the rest of us an arm and a leg for something that we just had the misfortune of missing out on because we weren't playing at that time. Oh well. I think Pastel is pretty, and it doesn't have the goofy grin of the Glimmer.

I'm also having a hard time figuring out what the future sales might be, but excited to find out on some of them.

I understand that inflation is hitting everyone regardless they be consumers or businesses. It would have been nice to be told there were price increases. I just don't see why items have gone up too. Seems we're being hit twice. Once when we buy gems (I see why they increased) then again when we use them (it's like paying extra for a bag of flour then having to pay tax on the bread made from that flour) I don't mind paying more for gems, but am disappointed in the increase price of items whether they're on sale our not.

It is K -1 not K1. The plot is the 3rd row from the top right next to the Sublunaral Temple and Prevailian Temple.

Oh, I get now. if it wasn't capitalized, (i.e "the ziggurat") I may not have been looking for a named structure lololol. Plus I misread coordinates "K, -1" as "K, 1" by reading the "-" as a delineator. I was expecting some sort of delineator in a set of coordinates lol. I am obviously very tired and should probably go take a nap!

I cannot think of an easy way in the game. For me, the Forum is the best and easiest. Otherwise it will vary depending on the day.
Day 1: The Ali’s we’re on sale in the Featured tab (and also Animals tab).
Day 2: The Royal Exchange automatically changed so if you used it at all yesterday, you got things in half the time and received 2 Trade Tickets for each one.
Day 3: The plots on sale will have a banner at the top of them.

For the future, the majority of the time check the Featured tab in your market.
Day 5 (Dec 23): Featured tab + Council Chambers
Day 8 (Dec 26): Featured tab + market tab for the walkers/kingdom citizens
Day 9 (Dec 27): Featured tab + Academy
Day 10 (Dec 28): Expansion plots, so I would look at where you still have left to expand

You can probably see why I just recommend the forum.

The golden mines drop a golden item every day (except if you're already maxed on that particular golden item. eg if you're maxed on golden eggs and that days mine drop is eggs you don't get one. Look through the list of items they also drop in ShibuyaCloth's answer. I'm absolutely happy I spent the gems on mine. At the time I got mine for 250gems.

At the start of each day I check out the 'featured' tab in Market, especially if there is a sale tab on top of the other headings (plants, animals etc) Then after collection crafts from crafting buildings, then go to forum, I have Castle Story Discussions in my favourites so open that and look for threads in bold and visit each one. Refreshing discussions let's me know if I've visited each thread and find that days info (usually masses of info on page 1 so read page 1 before going to end and asking questions whose answers are already on page 1) about what's going on. I was so glad when I discovered how to use forum properly. Hope this helps

Yeah, inflation is hitting everyone of us (in my country its 84%-official rates). So the prices may increase but this game is not being developed in years. There are only new events (but only the story and characters are changing not the main structure). The game needs some strong improvements for example, the inventory is full with things from old events. The titles(materials-decorations etc) is not enough. Finding something in inventory is very hard. Also it takes a long time to load the game. These -and more I don?t remember right now- have not been changed from very old times-it?s been a decade. They should give us a better playing with improvements-not only similiar events.

Cynical thought has just dawned on me ... are we getting these 12 days in lieu of a Christmas sale similar to Black Friday? My first Christmas Sale back in 2018 I spent "a fortune," every time I totaled up how much I would buy, I had gems leftover, so "well I might as well buy more" heh. Had to send my adult son out to store to buy Googleplay cards like 6 times, lol.

I agree with you! I still love playing and I wont stop but it would be nice to clean out my inventory and get a change up in the 3 or 4 events we get. and yes I know it's a free game accept its not free they use and sale data collected from us so we are paying just with a different currency than money.

They don't drop them 100%, but I find I have 60+ in inventory, and still use nuggets doing event Adventures that call for them. The building upgrades that want a lot deplete my stock, I try to chop 50+ Rock Outcroppings during WW to pick up 2-4 more.

I actually had my Grimaud drop a gold nugget last week. First time I recall getting one from there! The Gold Peacock does drop them occasionally, so do Pilu. Plus the Dapper Duck. Very Rare, but they do drop. My Level 9 mines also drop them. So I always collect from the aforementioned, in case I get a Gold Nugget drop.

I was hoping someone who had gotten the buildings might respond. I do not have either building because by the time they were released I did not need either item. Below is my opinion, but the answer is highly dependent on your realm and what you like or need. Both buildings make it so that you do not need to rely on events to get the characters.

Throne of Crowns: I do not recommend. Almost every event gives you a chance to earn crowns and get citizens (aka walkers). Some citizens have great storylines that can help you so I do recommend getting them, but do not think you need the throne to accumulate crowns.

Library of Scrolls: I am torn. If this drops the Academy Scrolls regularly, this would be nice. It will help you get scrolls to unlock the students quickly once you get to that storyline. With the addition of the Council Scrolls, there are fewer events and chances to accumulate the Academy Scrolls so it might be nice to have an alternate source.
For your information, it took multiple years to get enough Academy Scrolls and they were more common prizes from events.

I do see that the cabbage hut (card) has reference to 70 troll tokens, but I have never had that appear in the Trade Wagon building giving the option to spend and create.

You can only have 2 cabbage huts. You can make one and buy one for gems. You cannot buy 2 for gems so you must have crafted it when it first came out. :)

Unfortunately yes they are deco only. If you're not sure on items, it often pays to wait till they get listed in this thread and/or doorbuster sales thread (that info is in doorbuster thread now) and those details will be available in plenty of time to buy the items of the type you want and what they drop, if anything.

Apparently not all. Rhea, Jareth, Honora are 50. Errol is 100 in one account, that still hasn't defeated the Duke. Chase is 75. Kelcie is still locked on that one.

If you awaken Chase, he will eventually lead to Kelsie who eventually gives you Idris. "Idris (alicorn) is a daily energy dropper with a 24 hour timer. "

N2 & O2 are not possible as they are goal extensions. N-2 & O-2 could be!

IMO if you don't use standard graph coordinate nomenclature it's very confusing. There should be a delineator of some sort between each graph point. So X,Y or X-Y or X:Y are used for a set of coordinates but XY is not. I most commonly see X,Y in scientific literature but other delineators besides a comma are used.

I completely agree. I crafted a ton of expansion tickets and a few explorers permits ahead of time, to be prepared for today. But I only can see one plot reduced, and it’s not a significant reduction. But I guess I’ll put these expansion tickets to use.

There was no way to predict that after 10 years so much new land would be added that it gave us no choice but to use a negative symbol to identify newer land. Shibuya and I have discussed whether or not to redo the map but there are just too many main story goals that I would have to redo and I do not have that kind of time nor or am willing to put that much effort into something that is not broken. We have been consistent in every thread that N1 is one plot identifier and Nminus1 (N-1) is another. How we write plots now is not going to be changed.

I have expansion plot O-1 on sale. It is currently 1128000 coins, 44 wisp lanterns, and 10 expansion permits is checked off because I already gave those. This is a discount from 1410000 coins and 55 wisp lanterns. I don’t know how much the permits are discounted.

I also see P-1. It is 1160000 coins, 52 wisp lanterns, and 14 expansion permits. This is a discount from 11450000 coins, 65 wisp lanterns, and 18 expansion permits.

I wrote the nugget before the expansions where possible (when having a few millions coins in reserve was more then enough to have a golden life). Hence the inflation in the Glimmer Forest might be on part with south American countries! :rolleyes:

Could it have been a coin gift? I have so many coins I wouldn't notice any difference below six figures, but if S8 gifted coins it would probably be 10 or 20k, same as mystery chests, etc.

If only we could figure out more quickly within the game what the deals actually are. Some were obviously easier than others (looking in the ‘featured’ section for animal or building sales), but we shouldn’t have to guess what the deals are. Also, many days it seems the sale items actually turn over late in the day for me, so struggling to get them and then figure out what they are:(

Just last week the last amount was 450,000 coins for 250 gems, so that's a change but I think this one is just inflation. I know how much it was last wk because I accidentally tapped the 450,000 button and it cost me 250 gems.

Still can't fathom how today is coin day in the 12 days of deals. Only have about 6 hours left for me to find out , if I can take advantage of it.

Got a notice some characters are for sale, it's a new 5 day sale. Anyway this a picture of the only item that gives energy. He's a daily dropper and usually drops 5 energy per day and will cost you 250 gems. Of course there are probably other items some folks will want but lots ask about energy droppers. (I originally thought it was in the 12 days of deals but it's not)

Hope that those of you looking for a bargain that you get them in your price range.

It was the gem purchase of coins that was on sale yesterday - I figured this out when they offered the same sale in the other s8 games today, lol.

If you check the screen today, it's back to being $36k for 20g, $180k for 100g and $450k for 250g compared to yesterday's $28.8k for 16g, $144k for 80g and $360k for 200g.

ETA: We should get the new 12 day sale in a few minutes at 11am PST so the other sale items are just a standard New Year's Sale, I think.

Before todays deal came up I get the splash screen for another 6day sale. Forgot to capture that one though. Sure it will turn up in doorbuster sales thread. I usually like to see what info is posted in forum before I make a purchase.

If you do the math, it wasn't a deal at all. The coins received per gem spent was 1,800 for every level (both the 11th day of Christmas and the regular coins for gems offer).

Usually those don't come with a storyline. you must look at gem costs with a higher figure.

I wrote the nugget before the expansions where possible (when having a few millions coins in reserve was more then enough to have a golden life). Hence the inflation in the Glimmer Forest might be on part with south American countries! :rolleyes:
