Crafting Information in the Magic Forge

* Knight tokens drop from defeating the Knight of Roses from Cows and Pigs

Knight Sword, 4 hours - 8 knight token, 5 jewels, 1 enchanter's essence | 45 points

Knight Shield, 15 minutes - 2 knight token, 10 wood, 5 iron ore | 15 points

Knight Helm, 4 hours - 5 knight token, 1 living wood, 4 silver ore | 30 points

Monster Hunt & Leaderboard Information

The following notes have been generally consistent from season to season.

* Check you can spawn monsters!
* Pink Skunkupines don't drop tokens when you defeat them. They might spawn from pink and wedding alicorns.
* Gem horses may not spawn glimmer trolls.
* Trolls may be included but they change from being included season to season.
* Monsters also drop their normal items in addition to the tokens.
* Do the Bronze Hunter Trade if you are nearly maxed on Shield tokens so that they don't go to waste.
* A Level 5 Jousting Arena will spawn a monster on every collection. Link to Jousting Arena Renovations (https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?83751-Castle-Story-08-06-Update-Jousting-Arena-Renovations-(levels-4-amp-5)) thread.
* The Mythic Research Center (from L22) crafts are available to craft anytime if you have the tokens.
* If it's your first Monster Hunt, the new trades might appear after you do 1 of any trade in the Trade Wagon.
* Remember to collect from Princess Lorelei's fountain for a chance at gold tokens (about a 1 in 3 drop rate)

* BLUE DIRE BOARS will only spawn once a day.

2. Dead trees (for once daily blue dire boar)
3. Princess Lorelei's fountain (chance to drop gold troll tokens)
4. Jousting arena (level five guaranteed monster spawn)
5. Monster statues (drop silver tokens)
6. Troll sparring pit (guaranteed troll spawn)
7. Lair of beasts (guaranteed monster spawn)
8. Go through inventory for any monster traps
9. The Prison (mermaid storyline) (guaranteed marmosea spawn)

I like monster hunts, but it's too bad not everyone can get the horse, especially since he is an energy dropper. :(

Knight of roses (cow/pig spawned) won't drop any tokens, it's been a while since I did a MH but that's not normal right?

Aww ... Would have been really nice if the beautiful rose armored horse was in the MRC! 🙁

( I told myself that as long as it wasn't LB prize or super-rare Adventure drop i'd be satisfied- buuut it's LB prize.
Ah well. ) ( Edit: Hope some folks are excited about a human in the MRC. 😊 Even if not my cup o'tea ! )

The Knight of roses should be dropping this MH's Knight token (not the normal silver tokens) and giving points.

Even though they don't drop the "right kind" of token, I have been waiting for a MH because a couple of my accounts have to fight "Monsters" like Monsoona, Lady Greselda, some trolls at the Jousting Arena, and the Forest Tree Spirit or whatever - ones that require a lot of energy and, therefore, can give lots of points, even if not the right tokens. Now I can finally advance on those storylines.

Anyone know if you get points for monster hunt event from defeating Heksa of The land and sea main storyline? Finally got the tidegate to lv 10 but don?t want to summon if I don?t get any points for it.
You will get Leaderboard points, but no tokens to craft into Gold tokens, for crafting items in the MRC. So if you want to craft Gold Tokens, put out your horses. Each horse will spawn a Golem, each hit drops a token as well as counting towards the Leaderboard prizes. I find having a herd of horses wastes less energy than tapping around trying to spawn something.

There are a few guaranteed spawn buildings, but lower level accounts probably haven't finished those storylines. Oh, once a day you can hit a Dead Tree to spawn a Blue Dire Boar, which also give tokens as well as points. There's a whole bunch of information on Monster Hunts in The Hub. SpiritWind also posts this early in the event, a link to The Hub as well as monster sources.

The chest doesn't go into your inventory. You should have got a pop-up that said what prize you won - that prize will be in your inventory.

I think it's stupid and backwards that it pops up the prize(s) that you got and then tells you afterwards it was a mystery chest. It should show the chest and then the prize that you got, but that is not how CS works, apparently.

The chests automatically open when you reach the level and deposit the winnings as appropriate- coins, tokens, points, etc. There is nothing you need to do and no chest to locate.

For anyone wanting to make their Realm stronger, or frustrated by the Leaderboard... please please please just don't compete.
It's not worth it. The chance is small you will win the 'main prize' and the rest of the prizes (trade tickets and such) really don't compare to the benefits of just doing your own thing.
Don't fight Cows and Pigs and don't craft Beast Master items.

Instead, solely focus on fighting 'normal' beasts and gain Troll Tokens.
Trade the Tokens in the Trade Wagon, gain as many Golden Troll Tokens as you can.
Don't do other things for just 1 week (only collect from things you absolutely must, I still collect from Dragons for example). Just collect energy and fight beasts/ monsters..
This will help you so much in the long run!
Build Princess Lorelei's Fountain (and collect from it during Monster Hunts for a chance at Golden Troll Tokens), Build the Mythic Research Center, Build a Cabbage Hut.
Then start crafting Energy droppers. There are such amazingly wonderful animals you can craft in the MRC,.. Some of the best in the whole game, and they are available to everyone without paying Gems or money. You just need patience and focus.

I'm fighting a lot of Purple Glimmer Golems, they spawn from Horses, and it is a guaranteed spawn which is wonderful. Fight the Golem if you need Staff Tokens.
1 Time a day you can fight a Blue Dire Boar that spawns from a Dead Tree. (it just spawns 1 time a day) Recommended to do this.
If you need Sword Tokens, I recommend to fight Fawns and Wisps that spawn from Cloudberry Bushes (gives you supplies for expansion at the same time), Wild Skyhawks and Dark Elves that spawn from Clouds and Small Clouds (if you've unlocked this story line) and/or try to spawn Marmosea and Aquanthers from Ocean Reef, Cursed Reef or Blue Anemone (only if you have them in storage)
Collecting in your Realm, waiting for a Fang- Dire beast to spawn is usually not the best approach, it's very Energy intensive to try and spawn something, and it doesn't gain you many Tokens.
Make sure you don't max out on Shield Tokens. Do Bronze Hunter Trades if you have to many.

Best thing I ever did was move my Trade Wagon closer to my remuda. So much easier.
Just watch the spawned Purple Glimmer Golem doesn't overshadow the trade wagon, if you're going to max out on shield tokens.

The Golden Knight is a perfect addition to my "Arthurian" themed corner!

I now have Favio acting as Sir Gawain, Fern as Guinevere, Tabitha as Morganna and the Golden Knight as Sir Lancelot! Of course the Sword in a Stone as Excalibur.
I'm still looking for a good King Arthur and a Merlin and Mordred of course, a Lady of the Lake and more suitbale (unmasked) knights, but I'm getting there!

Thank you for the suggestions! Except for the Plush King (didnt finish that event) I have all those characters, but I am trying to keep it "human" appearance, sort of. As for Mordred, the dark knight is actually a good option. I will see if he wants to fit in! :)

The last time I bought a point dropping statue, I placed 5th-6th, so not going for that. The only statue I really was happy to buy, was when we had a non-Leaderboard "craft old monsters" Monster Hunt. But for accounts who struggle to make the individual prize, the statue is great. The individual prizes from MH's are often multi item droppers.

Also FYI even though the Vampire Horse isn't armored, it doesn't spawn a golem.

A few folks on my LB are already well over the 2k mark. So good luck to them�� always interesting to see how high it goes when it seems to be a popular prize. Or just the collectors who ?need? to have every item that comes out.lol. The energy expended to ?win? far exceeds the energy you?ll receive from the ?prize?. Well,it would take a few years to recoup it. I?ll plod along,following Ronja?s lead��,just going for tokens. Omg, right? Unless someone in my group is about to swoop in and drop hundreds of energy, I'm surprisingly hopeful. I'm glad I've never really cared for the leaderboard since I find it more rewarding to be able to craft stuff from the MRC. If you are looking to spawn fang beasts, remember the oxen from the last event seem to spawn them more frequently than other sources. I tried it the first day of this event and it only took a couple of collections before the fang beast spawned.

Update: I just tried them again, while during the Last event, fangbeasts were quite common when collecting from oxen and the first few oxen I tried after the event was over also frequently spawned them, once I tried all my oxen again the spawns started to space out requiring a few more oxen per spawn. It might just be because of the monster hunt, but they are still worth a try.

Hi all, I started playing a new kingdom last year after not playing this game since 2015, I'm on level 48 with a couple energy droppers and I was just able to craft the MRC. I've been fighting glimmer goldems every 2 hrs possible and based on past thread recommendations crafted an armored alicorn cause I was too impatient to wait for a unicorn lol. Do you guys think it would be beneficial for me, in terms of getting unicorns and armored fangbeasts, to get the value pack with 15 mins of unlimited energy? 5 bucks isn't much but I wanna know if it's worth getting? Thanks!

Almost maxed on gold tokens so dithering between Armored Direwolf and Armored Direboar.

I do want the Leaderboard Rose steed but would have to get at least 10,000 more points. And I can tell from their fields of alicorns that several of the top scorers are likely to make a run in the last day. So even though I have plenty of horses and energy, I will just stick with reasonably working on gold tokens for my MRC.

Personally, I'd say no. 15 minutes of unlimited time, assuming the game doesn't inexplicably disconnect you, is only going to let you battle thirteen golems and craft 6 Troll Tokens. Not worth $5.

I was hopeful to be in the top two, but now I am not so sure. Another player and I have a similar amount of points (4,500) and keep on swapping places. Then yesterday the third place person all of a sudden has over 12,000 points. How? Which Magic Forge item is the best to craft? So I guess I might have a chance at placing second, but the other person has WAY more energy droppers than I do? So should I just go for third?

The first in my LB has only 2 dozen daily energy droppers and is well over 14000 points, looking on how (s)he got there is by crafting like crazy on the Magic forge piling up the goodies then once a day with the energy droppers ready launch the point booster. I focus on Troll tokens (made >100 already this hunt), which is very energy demanding and generate a lot of points (collateral), and it can lead you to the top spots from time to time. Maybe I will finish second on LB this time, but in general with >10k points I am in the top 5. I have seldom seen a LB where the top 2 have less then 5k points.

When considering what to craft next, I usually go to this excellent summary which is linked in the first post of each Monster Hunt thread. Everyone's situation is different so what is best for one might not be best for another at their point in the game. I was trying to decide between the Armored Direwolf and Armored Direboar, but ended up just getting another Golden Peacock to keep from maxing out on gold tokens. Now I'm thinking about the Armored Black Bear because it has useful drops for me. But I like to craft for the deco as much as the drops, so couldn't resist the Golden Knight.

Look at post #4 on page 1 in the link from my post above. Basically it?s another kitchen. If you are at a stage where you are constantly crafting in your kitchen and can?t keep up, then maybe it would be worth it for you. I have two kitchens and a winter bakery. I seldom use the kitchens unless there is an event special kitchen item. Those special items might not even be craftable in the Cooking Camp.

I think the Cooking Camp was included in the early years of the game when kitchen crafts were significant. I doubt many long term players bothered with it.

Everyone has their own take and that guide is magnificent on what to craft first. I went the Golden Peacock route for gold items first before crafting others. While earlier in the game it seems effortful to use the kitchen especially to make feasts, as you play the game there have been opportunities to find feast droppers. They single-handedly have dropped my kitchen usage. I think the tinker's camp provides far more utility over the cooking camp.

Anyone else notice they forgot to toggle the fangbeast spawn off during this Monster Hunt?

My 9 farmhouses have spawned a fangbeast almost every time I cleared the bunch (until last night). I have completed the Novice challenge everyday with very little effort.

Are you placed randomly in a leaderboard with people who are on the same level as you or is it just completely random? I'm just wondering how it is divided up and like the "fair" aspect of this. The person in 1st in my leaderboard has 41K points as of now and 2nd and 3rd are fighting with 26K points respectively. I never pay any attention to the leaderboard at all and I mean not that I could at all. I have never seen this amount of points before tho and tbh its quite exciting to watch ;)

See I think you are placed based on two things-Where you finished in the last MH-So the higher up you were before the harder league you will be in-And secondly what time you started the MH.
So by finishing lower down in one MH I am always pretty confident I can do well in the next one,providing I start on a Friday as opposed to the Thursday!
I would be interested to see what other players think too!

I actually think you are on the right track with the "when we start the event" because I used to play Dragon Story as well and there I always "accidentally" logged in without knowing it was a leaderboard event just starting and I got placed in a ridiculous competitive groups allll the time since I didn't pay any attention to the forum back then about what events where happening.

I also logged in only 15 minutes after this MH event started and I'm seeing these high points for the first time while the last MH I logged in around 2 or 3 hours after the event started and the group was way calmer. But I'm interested in the other point you bring up. I'm placing very low this time so I'm gonna see what happens for the next MH.

Manga, I agree. It is fun to watch. My top 4 players are all pretty neck and neck but not even close to 40k that your seeing. Some players must constantly use that boost.and the exchanges. Ive been tapping a lot this hunt and can't come even close to getting that many points. . I don't use the boost and don't do the exchanges Just going for gold tokens.
What will be interesting to see if someone way back in the pack takes the lead.

I'm also seeing a generous amount of Alicorns (already counted 98 of those for one player in my LB) so that definitely helps :rolleyes:
I also just play for the chances of more gold tokens and I love to see my process from the last MH to the next; how many gold tokens I can make each event is a very good indicator for me to see how much my Queendom is growing.

Oh and MH are all about strategy but..I always want to play fair.So..after a few days I always reach out to other players and confirm my intentions-Like I am just going for the prize,or I am going for second place etc.
Once on a lower leaderboard another player sent me a message-Their eyesight was failing and they wanted to win just one First Place.Broke my heart.
So I stepped down and we became neighbours.They won!And I was so happy for them!
She sent me a gift every day for a year after that,bless her,and has now stopped playing which is so sad.But I am glad I helped in such a small way to make her wish come true!
So MHs can have negative associations-But they can have heart warming moments too!

This is a much more competitive field than I’ve been in for a very long time. Currently I’m in 13th place with close to 4000 points. Normally I end up in the top six, and if I really want the top prize, have enough energy and horses to make a play for it. Not only am I hopelessly out of reach, but the top players have vast fields of alicorns. I am curious if someone third or below is going to make a run for it in the last hour.

This is my exact take too. The times I log in as soon as event released I'm in a more competitive group. Once I didn't have a chance to get in till day 2 and it was an easy win. For context I win/place maybe 80% of LBs but have got 0 points when I was too busy to play. This is why I think it's a mix of both.

I'm on holidays this week at the beach (for my Aussie friends, I'm in Byron Bay) so not playing LB. Still getting points though as I am making permits etc for island expansions so spawning dark elves etc.

I may try a later start next time - currently in 14th place and even the last place has over 2300 points. Very different than most of my Monster Hunts and I usually start ASAP. I have four gold and four silver flags so that’s how often I’ve won the Leaderboard prize.

I'm mad at myself, but I need to remember it is just a game. I had been waiting for a MH, and then when it got here I got busy with other things and largely ignored it. Surprisingly all of my accounts were in relatively low scoring leaderboards, but because I ignored the game for days, I wasn't able to come in very high on any of them. If I'd tried I probably could have gotten the horse on at least 2 accounts as well as getting some troll tokens. Can you believe that I have been playing for almost a year now and still don't have a MRC?

On one account I did buy the $14.99 pack to get the points and some energy, and I assumed that it would award me all the goal prizes that require less than 700 points, but it seemed like it skipped right over them?!?!?

yea!!! first time in at less 5 years that i won a Monster Hunt 😃 but to be Fair a lot of the players did not have a lot of our forts so I'm very happy about the roster I was line up against it was a fair and fun game

I'm incredibly happy with the outcome of this Monster Hunt. Ended up collecting enough Troll Tokens to craft three Untamed Alicolts and an Armored Gargoyle so that comes to almost four hundred Troll Tokens.

As a bonus, I also managed to come in second and so won the Steed of Roses too :D

The Steed of Roses has a 7-Day timer. The pop-up at the beginning of the event suggests that it has a chance to drop energy. I certainly hope it's a guaranteed weekly energy dropper.

Personally, I'd say no. 15 minutes of unlimited time, assuming the game doesn't inexplicably disconnect you, is only going to let you battle thirteen golems and craft 6 Troll Tokens. Not worth $5.
How do you manage to fight 13 golems for 15 min? It usually takes 3 min for each golem for me.

Congrats to deadpixel,and all the others who got the steed. My LB top two finished around the 20k mark. Given the steed is a weekly energy dropper,will only take about ten years to get that energy back😉. Must admit tho,it is nice deco. Which,at the end of the day,tis what us long time players enjoy. I must admit,when the prize was the forest Minotaur,I ended up with about 30k points to make sure I got him😍. Do feel for other players who can?t compete with those with large Ali herds,but we were all there at some stage. I?m sure this one will show up for sale sooner or later😉. P.s. enjoy ur time in Byron SW, just watch out for that wacky tabacky🤪

How do you manage to fight 13 golems for 15 min? It usually takes 3 min for each golem for me.

Just swing non-stop on the golem, in >1 min you are done. Unless you have a super old device that lags. BUt in between you must consume the huge amount of token drop, so have the trade wagon near the spawn to reduce travel time. In other words, prepare the golem farm to optimize all aspects.

That's quite an advantage to having a newer device! I have an older 6s plus and it takes me 1.5-2 min to whack a golem. Now I'm thinking to upgrade my phone sooner than planned, just because of CS!

I had a hundred horses out and went through them at least once everyday :p

But an added bonus of Troll Token farming is that you build up a huge store of walls, towers, gates, arches, and paths :tickled_pink:

On the discussion of how people get placed in leaderboards: This is the second time that I've been in a lb where 3 of the players are obviously all the *same* player, and they tie all their accounts with each other. How does this person manage to get all their accounts in the same lb? :confused: Of course, maybe they have even more accounts than just these 3.
I wised up the first time and managed to also tie with them, so all of us got the #1 prize. ;)

Still kicking myself for not trying harder on this MH. All 4 of my accounts were in low scoring lbs, so I probably could have come in 1st or 2nd on every one of them if I had tried.

Wow, you're dedicated! I don't know if I could do that, even if I had the Energy.
I also have a lot of Paths and Towers, but I never do the trade where you get the Walls. Sword Tokens are hardest to get for me (I love fighting the Golems), so doing the 'Wall trade' almost costs me a Golden Token.. or at least half a Golden Token. And that's just not worth it for me, I have so many things on my wish list still.
But it can be a good end-game goal :cool: (I absolutely love having lots of deco to choose from!)

Alas it doesn't work that way. You still were third, even if there wasn't anyone in the second spot.
They only way more than 2 people can get the (first and second spot) prize is if more than 2 people share the first spot, or if 1 person is in the first place and if 2 or more people share the second spot.

Good to know that he’s a guaranteed Trade Ticket dropper. However, I doubt I’d be crafting him any time soon since I already have so many guaranteed Trade Ticket droppers that I often see black flags while collecting from them. That and also the fact that I think 30 Gold Nuggets is a little too much to be asking for him.

I wonder if it really matters what time you choose to start/login for a MH. In my opinion I feel that it is just the randomness of CS. Like the Barons Tent some players can get multiples of the same prize and it may not show up at all for some. That can be said about the adventure prizes as well some get multiple and others none with numerous tries. I think it is all random.

My Troll Camp just dropped a gold Troll Token. I'm only collecting from it during this Monster Hunt because of the other event going on. I never noticed in any of the discussions that you should collect from the Troll Camp during the Monster Hunts. Is this normal?

There are a very few places where an infrequent random drop is possible and the Troll Camp is one, so no harm trying. But it will be rare.
