How Storybook Events Work:
1. It's not that you have one day to complete a chapter - it's that another chapter won't UNLOCK until the next day.
2. If you finish the chapter early, you have to wait for the remainder of the time to expire before the next chapter starts.
3. You have to complete a chapter to begin the next chapter.
4. The chapter should not be completed if you want to keep collecting items or crafting until the 'next day' chapter begins.

5. If you take longer than a day to complete a chapter then the next one will start sooner.
6. If you gem skip a chapter, the next one doesn't start sooner (you will wait even longer!).

Note 1: There are different requirements for High and Low level kingdoms and both are noted in the goals below. LL = Low level kingdoms L15-45 | HL = High level kingdoms 46+
Note 2: The side goal will trigger when the goal to upgrade the Castle is reached on each day. If you already have the items to upgrade it will auto complete for you.

I've moved the side goals for days 1-6 forward 1 day as I think I had that wrong... please let me know if you see something different. Thank you!
Gather round, everyone! I have a tale. A story of a castle long lost to ice and hail. Its towers are gone, snow covers the parapet, and everyone else in the realm seems to forget! An evil force keeps the kingdom at bay, perhaps you'll be the one to save the day!
Chapter 1:

The air grows cold, snow falls to the ground, the sights and sounds of winter truly abound! Old Thomas asked Ivy to ready the winter treats, she's got to get cracking, it's no easy feat! But as she worked, she was struck by a clever thought, a solution to make cracking nuts easier she sought. With just a hint of a magic, and a dash of a spell, a magical Nutcracker would do the job well.

Ivy's magic went awry, her spells breaking loose, when our brave ruler found her, she did wildly effuse. A wooden soldier toy had magically spring to life, the irony was so thick it could be cut with a knife. After a moment of thought, the ruler took a deep breath. Perhaps this matter was not so urgent to be of life and death. But the wooden toy spoke quickly, he did not even say hello, "Please help me melt the ice and snow!"

A foe had appeared, a beast with sharp teeth, chasing the rat away was no easy feat. The Nutcracker was diligent, he helped fight the fight, the rats crawled away, clutching cheese wheels in fright. "They'll soon be back," the wooden soldier tried to warn, but he found the witch to be quite too stubborn. Her little wooden toy couldn't be telling the truth... But perhaps, she thought again, this cold be sooth.

Old Thomas is the one who will definitely know." The old wizard laughed a bit as you approached his door, "Come in, child ruler. Please at once tell me more." But the ruler knew bettre, they knew what to do. "The wooden soldier is the one who should explain it to you!"

The ruler persisted, to them something was not right, the Nutcracker needed help, and he needed all of our might. The castle was beginning to become clear in the snow, for the ruler, this was all the Nutcracker needed to show! There must be some way to convince them, the ruler did ponder, perhaps we could find some clues off in the yonder. But the biggest remaining question, the one left yet to solve, was where did the Nutcracker some from? From where did he evolve?

The ruler knew there were many choices Ivy could have selected, but the answer she gave him was quite unexpected. "That Nutcracker was a gift from many winters ago, and it sat stored in my closet for a decade or so. When Tomas asked for help on the Harvest Feast, I saw it again and my plans went unleashed! Of course, that Nutcracker has really done naught, which makes sense, of course, that he came from Baron Pfefferknot!"

As the ruler pondered the new information, they instead were confronted with a new indignation. The Rat King was ferocious, fearsome and made, his interference with the meal was making Ivy quite sad. "He's trying to get at all my delicious nuts!" Ivy cried, in the middle of cooking, "I wanted this meal to go well, but I don't like the way it's looking. It's almost as if the meal had been sabotaged, but the reason it's messed up in basically camouflage."

The Baron bought the Nutcracker from a mysterious old man, a toy with a story of a mysterious missing clan. His intention was to derail the holiday feast in store, but instead he ended up with so much more! The rats and the castle were mysterious additions, their sight triggered lots of wild superstitions! Perhaps there was more to this strange holiday trick, perhaps this was someone's entertainment, perhaps someone slick!

Perhaps he wanted you to have a joyous holiday, a delicious family feast, but mayhaps he just wanted you to enjoy yourself, at least!

The Adventure shows up in Chapter 3. It's called "Nut Harvest." It requires 1 Cheese Wheel, 5 Water, and 5 Roast Chicken. The Cheese Wheel is obtained from fighting the Rat King which spawns from Farmhouses. Two of the drops from the Adventure are the Nut Gnome and Undecorated Trees.

Aaaargh I should have known better and not have built the Castle early. My goal 2 Nutcracker Prince is now inaccessible in the market, locked even though the goal points me to purchase it. Restarted several times to no avail.

Yay issue resolved by:
- collecting from the castle
- placing the castle in storage and bringing it back out again
- restarting the game again

Now I can purchase my Nutty princes!

Looks like a fun event. But as usual with a storybook chapter type, I will wait at least a couple of days before starting. It seems that more times than not something doesn?t work right and it?s the weekend. This time a holiday one as well.

It will auto start in 4 days but given the first couple of chapters take 10 minutes you could easily wait for several days and still keep up before the event ends.

The event started roughly 17 hours ago. If you started it immediately, Chapter 2 has opened up roughly 4 hours ago. (from then on chapters last 24 hours)
I never start late, so I don't know how this normally works.

They ARE storable, but only within an initial and short window. : ( If you store them within a few minutes of placing them, they act as both storable deco and the event item. Once that window is gone, the items are stuck on your board until you chop them away. : (

I buy the things I like, store them immediately, then decorate. I can tell you for free I learnt the hard way! : )

I have already stored dozens of pecan trees.... : ) SO pretty! : )

Do not grow your Undecorated Trees to become Decorated Trees. Keep putting them into Inventory and taking them out. The Undecorated Trees disappear from the Market and later cost 50 gems to purchase. I learned this the hard way.

I'm only beginning this event too, so I don't know the specifics, but in previous events it proved useful not to let the side goals auto-complete.
Some event drop would only drop as long as the side goal was open. You could get this specific item in a later chapter, but if you wanted to work ahead and gather it, the side goal had to be open.

You had to chop 2 trees, so the first 2 side goals will probably auto-complete, and that's not a problem. The item this is concerning is not yet in play.
I would recommend not to chop more, and see if it proves useful.
And if not, chopping the trees only requires energy, so no harm done.

Quick reminder that you can collect from the pecan trees without triggering the next goal. Go ahead and chop them, just don't chop them down completely. The trees take 15 chops to complete, so only chop up to 12-14 and leave them for later. I've been giving the trees 12 chops and them moving them to another area so I don't accidentally complete them. This way I can get the max of 99 before moving on to the next step.

As long as any Chapter is open, you can chop the trees & get the drops. You don't have to keep that specific Goal open.
The easiest thing in all Chapters is to complete all Goals except the last one (upgrading your castle)

I don't know, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I now have the same issue as Lyzau. My wifi crashed and reverted some stuff so I have the castle but it won?t let me buy the Nutcracker Princes.
I tried doing the fix Lyzau did but no dice.

The Royal Rat is quite a stunning creature. He is animated and bangs his staff on the ground. He has a 4 hour collection time. The back of the card reads: A rabid rodent with a stolen crown! Spar with it to see what it has found for you!

Yes there is a special 2 hour adventure. You will not have it until Day 3 when you have completed the goal to fight the Rat King.

It is a good idea to do as many as you can. You are guaranteed a Pecan Tree each time and there is a rare chance for any of the other droppers (Nutcracker Prince, Decorated Tree, Squirrel, Nut Gnome). Keep an eye on your inventory to see if you get them.

Gem skipping chapters means you can start the new one now but if you don't keep gem skipping chapters you have to wait for the days to catch up to when chapters are supposed to start for everyone. Have I confused you more? I hope not! :)

Has anyone else not received rewards when they have already have the items in their inventory from the adventure?

I got an undecorated tree from the adventure as a drop, then only one instead of two as a reward for completing goal 3 in chapter 3.

Wondering if I will only get one squirrel instead of the two that are supposed to be rewarded in chapter 4 since I also have one of those that dropped from the adventure.

shouldn't those drops be extras and not count against goal rewards? If those items drop AFTER the goal reward, we get to keep them.

Hoping this might get resolved.

Happened to me too: got a squirrel as a prize drop yesterday, no nut collections though. First drop after the harvest got me no squirrel, second harvest got me two squirrels so now i still have three, they started dropping nuts after the ?regular? harvest drops. Also got a gnome, only drops coins, nothing else (yet), so im wondering if i will get a gnome in chapter seven or that it will be skipped again

Why is it a problem you don't have the side goal?
Maybe you've already completed it or it get's triggered in Goal 5.
The side goals only ask you to collect the upgrade materials (needed for the next Castle upgrade) and auto-complete almost instantly if you already have those.

I am getting neighbour requests for the recipes so perhaps even if the side goal asks for those things they might not keep you from progressing... ?

I think the sidegoals are a bit mixed up. The first day did not have a sidegoal so it looks like the sidegoals for days 1 to 5 belong to days 2 to 6. The side goals for days 6 and 7 are the same now and that usually is not the case

I did get super quick flash screen on day 1 so there might have been one. You might be right - I'm on chapter 4 and they are not the side goal... the goals I get are only numbered and I assumed that 1 means day 1 etc. I might change them to what you said and then double check them as I open each chapter and confirm... thanks for posting!

I don't think you need to buy anymore. It just calls for being in the game more for collections. Have a look at what you need for the upgrades and the math. It's only day 3 so plenty of time to work through the event.

I looked at page one again and goal 5 has moved to goal 6 which makes sense. Recently Storm8 added the side quests to stop people from planning ahead and saving needed parts for the next chapter. That's why it's suggested you don't level up the building because you can no longer collect. With the side quest having you make chocolate turtles, for example, once you do requested amount, it's no longer craft-able.

The trees changing shouldn't make a difference as the decorated tree still drops raw walnuts as well as ornamental walnuts. Keep collecting. If after a few more tries they don't, can you post again or even better, go and post in the Bugs forum so that S8 can see there is a problem.

Two part question: What are the Side Goals for? Is there a different prize for completing them? I have a separate Side Goal for the rat (not sure if I want that?). I waited to upgrade the snow pile castle(Level 3) until I finished the Side Goals for Level 3.
Do you have to do it that way to finish each level?

The Goal 'Aw, Rats' (craft a Royal Rat) is optional. You don't have to complete it to finish the event.

The other side goals just ask for the requirement to upgrade your Castle. So even if you ignore the side goals, you automatically complete them if you want to progress in the event. (to upgrade your Castle you need the requirement for the upgrade and that will complete the side goal)

There do seem some issues with side goals I have not encountered yet myself. So I can't help you there.
I would just focus on the main goals for each chapter if I were you.

In Chapter 4 I didn't see my side goal in my Goal book, but when I had all the upgrade requirements the side goal did complete. Edit, this is not true, I saw 1 goal and assumed it was the main goal, but the main goal is only represented on the right of the screen, so it must have been the side goal. sorry.

If it's not causing any problems, I would just forget about the side goals.

The sidegoal appears as soon as you reach the final goal of the chapter, so in chapter 5 it appears right after you finish goal 4 (and of course autocompletes when you already have the required items).

Yes, the Decorated Tree will drop raw walnuts.

To grow them is up to you. If you grow the Undecorated Trees to Decorated Trees, they will not drop anything after you have completed the side goals each day that have the requirements to upgrade the castle. This means you will not be able to collect items for future days. At this point in the event, that is a minor advantage because I THINK that restriction goes away on Day 6 once you start crafting the Cookies.

For goal 5-4, you will need at least 1 Decorated Tree.

Yes i think so, crafted one and its still possible in the kitchen. I dont think i want two though.

As for the nut gnome drops: mine drop only coins too. The squirrels dropped nothing until i got the first as a reward from the harvest mission, so that will be the same with the nut gnomes i guess, wait till chapter 7

This is the right place. What chapter are you on?

The Nut Gnomes will not drop anything until Chapter 7. If you have not gemmed ahead and are just completing the goals for each day, it is too soon to collect from the Nut Gnome. He will only give you coins every 4 hours.

the side goals are only the upgrade requirements and they give you 100 coins, so in essence you can completely ignore them if you want to as they will auto complete when you upgrade at any rate. Is that what you mean?

Chapter 5, Goal 2. I have asked my neighbours for recipe cards (about 20 hours ago), and I got 11 back within the first hour. I have had none since then, despite having at least 50 regular players on my list. I have even received requests from some of them but no recipe cards. Is anyone else having trouble here? I just find it odd that it stopped at 11, and didn't even move when my overseas neighbours came online.
(Yes I have force closed).

I have to ask, did you count the number that actually accepted your requests? Last story book I was short 1 request in chapter 9 and thought that even though I had had 20 acceptances, that one might have been a leftover from the earlier requests. So this time I was very careful. I only asked the first 20 who asked me. I took screenshots of everyone that accepted on my newsfeed, and of the counter. I had had 17 requests come in before the counter and cards in inventory reached 15. So I am missing 2. I believe this is from roll backs. It doesn't matter in chapter 5 but if this hapoens in chapter 9 when we need 20 I will be stuck again till the next day. These are not 2 that are different requests from different tasks, I have no open tasks, last requests were last story book. I have actually put in a ticket to ask if we have a roll back will the request counter that allows 20 per day and the event counter (the one on the side counting the recipe books) both roll back equally, because if they don't maybe that's the problem. I will be very interested to see what happens in chapter 9. (And yes, multiple force closing didn't change anything!) As far as I know there is no limit.
If you had placed the Squirrels in your Realm there probably wouldn't have been a problem. You would have just gotten the 2 extra.

But, I think that when the game awards you 2 Squirrels for completing Goal 1 Chapter 4, it is coded to make sure you have 2 Squirrels in your inventory (just 2, no more and no less) instead of adding 2. (just a theory though)
Someone else reported missing Trees earlier and I advised people to place things in your Realm instead of leaving it in your inventory.
I'm sorry you lost so many Squirrels :(

So a warning again, place won items in your realm, don't leave them in your inventory.

Like other people said, event stuff will only drop when the item is unlocked/ rewarded in the event.
The other items listed on page 1 (corn, creep tooth, fur, rat tail, sugar cane, tomato, wheat) will start to drop after the event is finished.
Not when it's finished for you, but when it's finished for everyone (if you've started immediately you have to wait a couple of days before the event is over over for everyone)

Force close your game! Also check your inventory, there you have the exact number of cards.

ShibuyaCloths, could it be you've got names mixed up in the Math overview? The math doesn't fit the Inventory Information.
Nut Wreath in the overview should be Nutty Cookies I think. Nut Platter should be Nut Wreath. Nut butter should be Nut Platter and Nut Harvest Nut Butter.

Those roll backs are so annoying. I had an adventure sitting for hours because I knew the next chapter would start with them. So while I collected the rest of my walnuts for the upgrade I didn?t collect from my queens keep. Then I had the walnuts, upgraded my winter castle, started the new chapter, collected the adventure, it ticked off, I started a new one and I tried to place a squirrel which I got from it. Theeeen the running horse came and afterwards the upgrade was gone, I weirdly only had 19 instead of the 20 walnuts I needed for it despite the decorated trees having been collected from, I was of course back to the chapter before but the new adventure was already going. So now I have to wait another two hours. Strangely enough I got to keep the squirrel. That makes no sense at all. If there have to be roll backs, at least everything should go back to the way it was. But like this it?s simply horrible. I mean I will probably still make everything in time. But it?s so annoying.
Sorry for the rant. 🙈

I think I?m having a brain fade. I just realized that I have no side goals in my blue book. I?ve restarted game and nada. Can anyone tell me how to find them and can I catch up or just be satisfied with main goal?

Along the opposite/right side of the screen (where countdowns usually go (see image below)) there should be a little icon that will open the chapters of this Storybook event for you; you can also check there for your progress, as the usual blue goalbook along the left will only have the 'special sidegoals' for upgrades when active.

The sidegoals are "blink and you'll miss them" fast if you've already collected/made everything required for the upgrade on the day's final step- they won't appear in your goalbook until you've hit the last step for the day and are ready to upgrade, and will only be in the goalbook until you've collected everything needed for the upgrade that day.

I was auto started at 3pm ET on Sunday, and am only on chapter 4. So if they havent be*** yet and were auto started, my guess is they will probably only be able to get to chapter 4 until 12am PT unless they gem past.

I agree it would be straightforward to catch up if anyone is just starting!

Chapters 2, 3, and 4 are all gather tasks for the side goal. You may be auto completing them as you get supplies for upgrading your building.

I'm making a huge effort to delete inactive neighbours during this event to see if it helps with the neighbour request rate. So far I've deleted over 50! I had no idea I had so many who weren't playing and it probably goes some way to explaining why requests have always been an issue for me.

My requests for recipe cards seemed to go through quite quickly.

I find it easier to keep of list of my 40 or so most active neighbors and only send out requests to them. I?ll update the list if I receive a request from a neighbor not on the list or haven?t heard from a neighbor in a while. This method has been working great for me for the past year or so. I?ve been able to complete more request tasks quickly and there?s less concern that a request will go to an inactive account.

SpiritWind, the last requirement of the side goal of Chapter 8 should be 'Gather 15 roasted almonds' instead of 'Prepare a Nut Platter - LL 1 - HL 2'.
Looking at the rest of the Goal, Math and Inventory Information, the Nut Platter will be unlocked in Chapter 9.

I sat out several events in September and October, so anyone visiting my kingdoms would not see any items from recent events, but I was still addictively and actively playing daily. It would have been nice if the "ready to collect" arrows on the Nutcracker Prince were taller so we can see the awesome detail! I noticed the arrows float above my other older critters but while the Nutcracker Prince was made taller, the arrows stay in the same place, covering the face area. On some of the large creatures like the Maxotaur and Big Bad Wolf the arrows are on the chest so we can see the faces. And on some, like Philomena and Archer, the arrows appear offset a bit so the face area can be seen. I guess when newer taller figures like Cleo, Kalani, and now the Nutcrackers are made, there isn't adjustment.

I've been doing the 2 hour adventure back to back and have 7 gnomes, the two gnomes as reward, and 5 more as drops from the adventure. I received 3 decorated trees and all of the other drops too. If you grow the undecorated trees, they will still drop the needed resources. I think you might want to keep the items from the pecan tree and the nutcracker as close to 99 as you can while crafting turtles cookies and wreaths. That's what I've been doing and it seems to be a pretty good strategy so far. I'm not sure how the energy expenditure will be for you. I hope you are able to finish.:)

I chose to do it now as the event building is so large and obvious - I could easily spot those who were actively playing this time. If there was no building, I'd look for other recent things (eg the new land and buildings on the island) and see if they'd done anything with those - a level 50 would probably at least have started them. Then I'd look at their wall to see if there were recent posts - a low level with posts from 2015 and nothing since is unlikely to still be playing. Sometimes there'd be a post from years ago asking if they were still playing.

It's not perfect and I might have deleted active players by mistake but it has worked. It was also very time consuming! I've had 11 responses to this morning's requests within an hour whereas it would have taken all day before.

Didn't use that, most of my neighbors are old level 50, so their inventory is full, sending a gift won't work. However force close the game really helps flush the pipeline. I finally got my 20th spice! 4 hours to complete.

You can see when they sent the request. Typically it the request it a day old or older, they will not need it.

I also got a request for recipes that was only 44 min old so it looks like some neighbors do still need the recipes.

I think this helped me out, thanks for the tip! It took a bit over 7 hours to get 20 (thank you, neighbors!) and, along with force closing, just visiting seemed to kick the counter up a notch.

It can hurt to accept old requests in circumstances when an event has two neighbor requests, such as this one does.
We are only allowed 20 responses per day, and if someone answers a recipe card request that is two days old, it could affect a players ability to get all 20 of the needed spices. I have definitely had 19 replies today, possibly all twenty, but only 18 are showing on the counter. This is after multiple force closes. It rarely takes this long to receive all twenty, so I fear I may have received an answer to an old request this morning.

If you need them, by all means send a request! As another member posted above, they say when they were sent. So if you sent them out today, your neighbors would know they're recent. The older ones will say 2 days ago, etc. This is probably a relatively minor problem, since most events don't have back to back neighbor requests. I just wish they wouldn't limit us to 20 replies per day, then it wouldn't be an issue at all.
I finally gemmed the last two (thanks to the Royal exchange and a few gold mines. Lol) just so I could move on instead of waiting til the day reset.

Why are there NO boosts for Magic Forge, but there are boosts for all other crafting buildings that are frequently used during events? Would be nice if Storm8 considered adding this to the boosts. It really slows up the challenges once materials have already been collected…..

I received my recipe cards very quickly, so I expected the cinnamon sugar responses to be the same. I haven't had issues getting responses in a long time. This morning I received 17 very quickly. Then I didn't get any more. I finally requested one from Stormie's Castle, so now my total is 18 and has been for hours. I've tried force closing, etc. Nothing has worked to move me to 20, but I'll keep trying.

My suggestion if you're wondering whether to accept request for recipe cards or not is very simple. I visited them and tapped on their castle, it was level 4 so I figured that they truly did need them as the last requests were in chapter 5.

I’m still stuck on 17, I put my requests out at 5am my time. 20 hours ago, still stuck on 17. I’ve forced closed 15 times reset my phone, everything I can think of.
I really hate the quests that depend on other players. I play non stop yet I’m throttled by what others do, or don’t do. It just sucks.

Sent out the request for Cinnamon Spice to 19 neighbors I know will respond. Now, if the game is handling requests correctly, it'll just be a waiting game. I have my doubts though because I am still receiving requests today marked two/three days ago from neighbors asking for Recipe Cards.

It’s almost 24 hours since I sent out the 19 requests and I?ve only gotten 7 Cinnamon Spices. I checked with my neighbors that “haven’t responded” and they either said that they did not receive a request or that they DID respond to the request.

And I KNOW that it isn’t because they may still be answering requests for Recipe Cards because I only sent out 15 requests for those.

Looks like the CS server side app is still working “wonderfully.”

This issue has been repeating itself in every CS storybook type event. Has any Storm8 staff ever given a close to reasonable explanation of why this happens or any reassurances that it is being looked into or that it will ever be fixed? I mean, “come on!” If you’re going to make this a necessary part of the event, make sure it works as intended; unless you’re telling me that this is the way it was intended all along :mad:

Edit: And right on cue the sale for gems comes on for the last day.

After finishing the event, you can still spwan the Rat King and craft the Royal Rat.
I’ve made 4 and the craft is still there.

I finished, but i did not receive sugarplum faerie. I closed mine device and also delete the app.

It went in your inventory after finishing the event. If it’s not there (or already in your realm) better submit a ticket with S8 support

I was originally concerned that I would have to push to finish since son is visiting and I haven?t had as much time as usual to play. But I was able to run my last crafts overnight and finished this morning. My new days started at midnight - I sent neighbor requests out overnight and had enough when I woke each time. It seemed like less late event crafting than usual in chapter events.

Most of the deco will be going into storage - as always I was disappointed that there was nothing to represent Chanukah.

Try storing the Castle (in your inventory) and get it back out, that somethimes helps

I upgraded my castle to level 10 and then placed my Sugarplum Faerie, but when I returned to the game about 10 minutes later, the faerie had disappeared. She is not in my inventory and I have force closed the game several times without her coming back :(

Wow the ending snuck up on me. It's almost over just another hour maybe (I started on day one). I was thinking it was ending Wednesday. The king rat is still craftable for a few more days. Check your timers.:)

This was a very nice event and I love the artwork. I really appreciate a lower difficulty event during the holiday. Thank you S8.:)

I very much hope people who are having trouble will have help fixing it and be able to complete it.

I agree that the artwork for the is event was pretty good, however, the long unresolved issue with the requests from neighbors made the experience, how do you say it… what babies do with their thumbs :blue:

I calculated and waited until I had only an hour left to spare but only received 19 Cinnamon Spices, Stormie included, in total, so ended up having to gem the last request.

W?ll I'm not tickled pink, I can't upgrade the icecastle to level ten, have all the items to build but when I push build the screen freezes has been that way for one hour, did reboots, shut down, etc still not building to ten. Aggggggrhhhhhhhhhh. Did rebooting, cold booting,. Still trying everything . Anysuggestions,very confused, not sure what is left to do....wrote to support. Thx

If not, I would submit a Ticket with S8 support. You should have gotten her and it's easy to prove you finished the event.

Just wondering what the drop rate for jewels are from the Rock Outcropping and other stones that I cant remember the name rn :p My mom recently started playing this game again as well but from scratch and is just on level 22. She quickly got low on jewels and mined down numerous stones without getting any jewels from them. I didnt think they were that rare. She had to gem that last nutty cookie to be able to finish in time. And now the day after finishing, she's been getting jewels left and right... :rolleyes:

The best is to hammer on an Iron Rich Rock. Best drop rate, a bit expensive when you are low level, but saves a lot of energy.

Dark Cave Formation costs gems but also has good drops. Rarely you can win one from an Adventure.

I am stuck at 16/20. Sent request out the moment the chapter opened for me. Have active Neighbor and previous request sitting in inventory at 40 when needed only 15.

Are my neighbours all done with event and not logging in anymore? Or what is it? Usually get all request done in couple of hours!

I’m having the same issue and starting to feel like it’s some gem speed up conspiracy :p I have many very active neighbors, I send my requests in batches and usually get them all back in a few hours max, usually under 2. I got 10 in under an hour and then nothing for the last 8 hours. I hate these neighbor requests as there is no consistency and we only have theories as to how they work. There is no way one of my 100 neighbors hasn’t logged in.

I too started the event a few days late this time since last storybook had a lot of glitches I wanted to wait. Add me if you like and we can see if it works.

Well, my castle never unstuck from not being able to upgrade to the last level. As many times as I restarted, stored it and placed it? all the things. I should have been able to complete the event early on the last day. The agent from Storm 8 was no help at all. So, no new decorations for me and a lot of time and energy wasted.

So disappointed.

So...what exactly happened here? The story didn't mention the faerie at all but she was the end prize and the role of the character on the left with the eye patch was only as the narrator and he didn't make it to the board. Unusual...

I do however LOVE storybook events; they're so much more relaxed (except for nail biting neighbour requests) overall and the Winter Castle is really beautiful.

I knew when I started that I'd be pushing the timing, but I've been zipping along through the levels and using gems and elven boosters to speed up stuff. Then I ran into the nut gnome and ONE nut from him every four hours. Can we say screeching halt? There's no way to get enough just for the level I'm on, much less the remaining ones.

So, I'm keeping the unfinished building in my winter area. It looks snowed in. It will remind me to return to avoiding these events for this reason. I'll be around to help my neighbors during them, and I'll work on other storyline items and some of the other events.

But I'm booting that gnome outta my kingdom.

I found the Nut Gnome to be the frustrating part of this event also. Thankfully I had gems left over from not buying the Mint Chip Alicorn, so I did a handful of speedups to get the nuts I needed. Somehow I ended up with more than one Gnome, but it was still very slow going.

I ended up with five gnomes. They kept dropping from the adventures.
I ran them pretty much constantly but I guess it was worth it for the ease of finishing.

Next storybook event, try going on the Adventure non stop (or as often as you can) from the moment it is available.
Event items dropped from it, including the Gnome.
And like riverly said, you should have gotten at least 2 from Chapter 7 Goal 2..

I think that's just a problem of not having enough energy.
If we had to fight another beast/ person for an item to go on Adventures, requiring the same amount of Energy, it wouldn't make a difference.
(you'd still have to make a choice to spent your energy to go on Adventures or to save up for the craft)

I consider these extra crafts a luxury. Only go for it if you've got a handle on the main event (or if you have no chance at finishing it)
If you're struggling to finish storybook events the Adventures are extremely helpful. (even if you're not struggling, they are extremely helpful)
