Once you start crafting the Emerald or Topaz Sparrow in goal 11, the main goals complete and the following 2 goals are triggered. The goal A Spare Sparrow allows you to purchase the other sparrow and the hatchling. eg, if you craft the Emerald Sparrow, the Topaz Sparrow and Hatchling goals will be in your book and vice versa. To buy, press the gem skip button as you cannot craft them after you have chosen.

To purchase the other Sparrow is 400 gems and the other Hatchling is 150 gems.

Now that SW has posted the goal info, I'm 100% sure that the buckle requirement is a mistake. We'll need 22 items, which translates to 110 buckles needed. Since sawmills drop rate is at most 50%, we'll get at most 6 buckles a day even if we babysit our games, so we'll need 18.3 days. We have about 13 days left.

I think this because I wasn't getting any of the slippery fish AT ALL and it kept black flagging saying fish full. So I put some fish items in the kitchen, then collected the ponds again and got the slippery fish.

When I say I wasn't getting any, I mean like 30-40 tries with nothing.

I tried a random tree, it did drop a stirrup but not the leaf that dead trees do.

Also, a new monster from dead trees and cows. However, my 9 dead trees did not spawn the monster. 7 were after spawning the monster from cows.

Horrible start for me with this event I must?ve bought 12 dead trees no grubs no monsters. Cows are not dropping anything or bringing about monsters not a happy camper right now

I am so so sooo confused. When I was playing earlier it said collect silver buckle from sawmill which luckily my sawmill dropped at first go so I have two in inventory and my goal book said 2/5. When I logged in second time and collected from sawmills zero drop(ok I went dang) and then when I checked goal book it saws 0/5 and instead of silver buckle it says bridle bits (collect from sawmills) and in magic forge it says collect from crab apple trees. Also it say collect from ivy to get leather strap from ivys. So I was holding collecting from ivy but when I saw it asked for it in the magic forge I went ahead and collected from ivy but she didn’t want to give me any....urg his ivy drop random??

Well they changed it, but they screwed it up. Ivy's hut did not drop the leather strap! all they did was switch the materials needed, but they didn't change the coding to match the event coding! I want my IV strap back and can you all just fix it. Don't just change the requirements without changing the event coding sheesh even I can figure that out.

There are alot of bugs- + it said Collect from Ivy's hut when I should be collecting from my saw mills on my storysplayers67 account when I collected from lvy hut - of course I don't receive any materials from either: so I am really behind on my StorysPlayer67 account. On this account all the options are open to sawmill and ivy hut when ivy hut should not be open yet. They need to restart the game and or fix the problem with a gift of supplies to the sawmills and ivy hut to stop us from being behind until this problem is fixed. I also have spent 20 to 40 energy to get 6 fish. The drops on fish are very rare. It will speed up when we do not need them. Just make a lot of extra energy in the garden forge for 20 energy because of the extreme amount of water wasted. But how can they fix this bug issue ? because it says go to ivy’s hut when I should be getting my materials from the sawmill first. I got 2 buckles from each sawmill on this LyonLorio account but none on my other account StorysPlayer67 and I lost my materials from ivy’s hut because it was not the time to go yet but it said to. But it is the only one open in the forge and the sawmill is open on the other account. and now I have to wait 12 hours Everyone you knows that those can’t be behind, Or you will not finish in time, and most of the time I have to buy the materials to make sure I finish. S8 - I bought the pack that gave me 5 silver buckles so I'd have enough to craft the bridle. I didn't want to wait to try and get them from the sawmills. Then I used the 5 to craft the bridle. Now the requirements have changed. I feel like you should give us back our 5 silver buckles since we had to use them in error for the bridle (or reverse the pack I bought to get them). I'm sure I'm not the only one who wasted 5 buckles and/or spent money due to errors in the programming of the game. Please make this right for those of us who tried to proceed through this flawed event.

You should be able to tell which players bought the pack. Not sure if you can tell who used the 5 buckles to make the bridle.

The spawning rate of the Goldentooth from the Dead Trees and Cows is worse than abysmal. This will be a long, arduous task to craft these 2 beasts.

Agree 100% also I must've chopped at least 10 crabapple trees and I only have one bridle which I must've gotten early on. I exited out of the game at least twice thinking it was a glitch that I had zero monsters on the board and chopped 8 or so dead trees and nothing. My 9 wells haven't dropped so I gave up on them too. Unless the prizes drop tons of energy this one might not be worth the effort. Where are the scrolls? Where is the FUN? I did buy the energy pack but I am not sure if it was worth it.

I bought the pack too. I submitted a request to support to return the other 4 buckles since they changed it from 5 to only 1 while my item was crafting. SOOOOOOOO many bugs in this one. :0(

After rebooting the game, trees are now dropping the Spurs. Dead trees are not spawning the gold sabretooth. I imagine it will drop again once I get to the next step. I'm also holding off on collecting from sawmills until the next step.

While technically true, this is also spin to minimize how poor this event has rolled out. Many have had their event start impacted (step changes, ivy not dropping supplies) and have been set back at least a day.

I know I?m not alone in this, but I saw the step change and saw an ivy drop so collected from her. No drop and now I wait 12 hours before I can try again.

Generally speaking, we accept that things are not always going to be perfect and that you will work to fix the issues that arise as quickly as you can. But these partial fixes that lead to additional issues are problematic. Don?t rush the fix. Tell us there is a problem, you are working on it, and fix it the first time. Fixing it right is WAY more important than fixing it fast.

Challenging events are enjoyable and worth doing but having to check in constantly to get drops that don’t materialize is not only tedious, it’s a waste of everyone’s time.

Am on GMT, went to bed last night having used gems to speed up bridle components due to wrong requirements (did not require straps but needed 5 buckles from sawmills), and dire drops from sawmills. Definitely had enough straps to make 3 saddles (which now do not require straps) due to ivy hut collection and 2 lucky adventures. Now they swap the requirements and I have got the saddles but not enough bridle components which now need the bottleneck ivy hut strap drops! Not happy.

This event is the kind of thing that caused me to stop playing for several years. This is supposed to be a ?Fun? game, not a job. Challenging events are enjoyable and worth doing but having to check in constantly to get drops that don?t materialize is not only tedious, it?s a waste of everyone?s time.

This event seems totally identical to the Out of this World event from January where we got Pavo.
That one was kind of insane but doable when you have time to babysit regularly.
Only that this time we missed out on the first Ivy drop because in the beginning it was the sawmills. That’s a lot of lost time.

For anyone waiting for fixes or other's experiences before risking a collection from Ivy: I just collected from Ivy 1hr 2 min ago and did get a strap.
However, I Don't know if this means it is/was "fixed" or if Ivy's is just (another!) non-guaranteed drop.

I did not get any event drops from my last 2 collections from my 2 sawmills (4 tries), but the rate on those seems reported as low so far so not unusual.





Progress: I am on Goal 5 (Upgrade to Level 2) waiting on my next Ivy and collecting from all the babysittin' tasks meanwhile. 🙃

Disappointed that the Nadina's brethren birds and elf-rider was not a cannon nod to the elf storyline. Perfect tie-in potential for a little "this was written by someone familiar with CastleStory lore" nod, even if it's not official storyline! (Why was Ruler surprised by Thurston's idea to "tame/ride" the birds? Did... we lose our memory again? Must be all the glitches... )
I'm not picky though, would settle for a smooth error-free event! 🥺

Issues like these do not build any consumer confidence in product quality, and in my opinion completely zap all enjoyment. Communication is key (what, again? why does it keep going wrong? Do you need help, s8? ) Unfortunately, no way to repair folks' lost nerves... communicate and try to make sure it doesn't happen again, please... wishful thinking. 😕❤️

Everything seems to be ok now. A couple of observations: the math will be slightly different than typical events.

Gemstone hides (from monster spawned from dead trees): looks like we only need 22, not 44
Stringy Moss: from dead trees, required in all 3 crafts. Two of the crafts need 6, not 5. If I've done my math correctly we will need 484, not 440.
Millet Buds and Slippery Fish: 66. (Wow: 21 ponds, 2 fish)
Buckle: 22
Leather Strap: 22
Bridle Bits: 110

On a side note: I am so done with gem traps. I somehow lost 15. The only thing I can figure out is I somehow bought a bridle while looking at the crafts in the Magic Forge. S8: I will NEVER buy gems if you don't get a gem use confirmation button. We know you can program "do you want to use these resources".

Generally speaking, we accept that things are not always going to be perfect and that you will work to fix the issues that arise as quickly as you can. But these partial fixes that lead to additional issues are problematic. Don?t rush the fix. Tell us there is a problem, you are working on it, and fix it the first time. Fixing it right is WAY more important than fixing it fast.

How about just TESTING the event before you release it instead of waiting for players to tell you that it does not work and then scrambling to fix it?

Now that goals 3 and 4 have straightened out, my game is standard collections and Waiting for Ivy. It’s a bit more boring without double/triple dipping on collections from aspens, fangbeasts, and Ivy. But my long term quests are complete so about all I can do is start the Sublunar Temple; 50 wood comes back quickly when trees are involved. I guess I could expand once I have room to bring out Royal buildings and deco.

Value pack doesn't even have permits or trade tickets as I remember (I could have misremembered that). I got a pack and a second bloom in the pavo event and still would have had trouble finishing if it weren't for the late stage shift. Meh.

We only need 22 buckle so don't stress too much on the drop rate.

Also, you don't need the bugs from trees to finish the event.

Park a monster so ponds and bushes don't spawn unwanted monsters.

If items aren't dropping, try fully closing your game to reset it.

Hello JLEB143. :)The bugs are usually intended to be a difficult spawn for the adventure. I wouldn't buy the gem trees unless you want them for decor. The adventure this time isn't dropping a reward. I would only do it for extra supplies (and most times the adventure gives the common drops, with occasionally a more rare drop). If you want to do the adventure, I recommend just harvest the regular trees, being prepared that each tree or two or three probably won't drop one. It will take a group of trees to get the grubs.

Thank you for your reply teika, yes I usually buy and store the gem trees albeit in this instance I forgot to store them. So I chopped them down to about 17-18 per tree. Usually the gem trees/ bushes/ flowers that are offered set you ahead but I have been disappointed in drop rates around. I had sent out two hard earned adventures with lackluster drops as others have previously posted. So that?s was a done deal yesterday. I am getting further along than yesterday with the golden/ambertooth spawns, still waiting on sawmills and ivy as well. Fish are still scarce.

This is by far the worst event yet for glitches. I have been considering for some time wether I will continue to play these events and this one may very well be the decider unless S8 get it sorted PDQ.

I usually spend money on the bundles to speed things up but the bundles this time do not attract me. They usually have free energy for a number of minutes but 80 per bundle will not be much help with the number of dead trees we will have to clear to get the number of various component parts required in total from them and the poor drop rate of items from ponds etc, not to mention the 15 energies required to get rid of the Spirits.

I am a realist and realise that companies like S8 have to make money from these games and I can’t help but wonder if making the drop rates so poor is an attempt to persuade people who do buy bundles to buy more than they normally would.

Try parking a monster when you collect from you bushes so you won't have to fight Toxified Spirits at all.
The item required to do Adventures (grubs in this case) are always a very rare drop.

If you don't want non-event monsters to spawn, spawn and park a monster somewhere.

The grubs drop in spurts. If you can't chop lots of dead trees at one time, it will be a long time between drops. The grubs actually have nothing to do with the event.

We only need 22 buckles from the sawmill. It's way to early too give up due to the low drop rate. With a 3 hour recharge and 2 sawmills, we should be ok.

The slippery fish have a low drop rate too but we only need 66. I have 12 ponds and 9 wells out. Typically 2 sometimes 3 drop. Even collecting just 3 times a day will get me enough.

We only need 22 of the dead tree monster and 12 of the cow monster.

This event started rough, but the item requirements make it attainable.

How many types of phones, tablets, their operating system versions, whether or not any other software on those sytems interacts with the game (like the hateful advertising that hijacks your game to the App Store and that advertisers' game)....Plus, of course, we are having a worldwide pandemic and severe weather issues. We don't know how that affects their operations & no professional company like S8 is going to announce it (at least, not unless something really critical like "all our mirrored servers have been impacted around the world due to freak weather events.") Over in Dragon Tales, the mods haven't been posting their latest event, something has impacted that. I'm happy the servers aren't down! And happy that SW & S8 staff have done their best to keep things moving. But it does make for a very stressful event. I hadn't started because I can't be tied to Ivy or Troll camp right now, I am having my own set of crises. It's frustrating and I'm not sure what the answer is....although I do like the idea of guaranteed drops from sawmills, etc. and at least double drops from Ivy for a few events!

P.S. Swampy pond is dropping Slippery Fish, if that hadn't been noted.

This event started rough, but the item requirements make it attainable.

I agree with HuckleTown. The event started off pretty rough but the requirements are sane. If they were much easier I don’t think it would be fun. And I like that there are multiple bottlenecks - Ivy, the sawmills, the ponds. It’s actually pretty well done.

The event has settled w addressed glitches for me. I won't do my usual of loads of adventures because the grub drop rate is insanely poor, instead, just chop as needed and I get to go on however many adventures the poor grub drop allows. The sawmill rates are still much lower than normal, but they are dropping enough to keep ahead of Ivy. So, good enough. I am in. Yay! The prize IS pretty cool. : )

The wells have been dropping better for me as well, until today. Today, 3 rounds of collections ended at 0 for 36 for the wells and 2 for 6 from the ponds. Insane.

:( I like the assets from this event but I live in Texas and have had spotty phone internet for the past while. I went to work and finally had a strong signal to at least start playing (I'd play and then the game would roll back constantly because it wasn't *really* connecting to the server or staying connected) and while pressing Next on the story cards, and waiting for the game to lag and load . . . it decided to press on my Ivy's Hut. Of COURSE the only thing it clicked was Ivy's Hut and STILL didn't load the card. :(

I restarted the game and while it didn't roll back my Workshop, it DEFINITELY remembered clicking Ivy's Hut. I'm so sad. :( I specifically didn't click on it knowing it'd be necessary. I'm already days behind. Sad.

Pretty annoying.

Grubs are just a bonus item for free extras, so doesn’t really impact.
I’d suggest just ignoring the grubs.

I’ve been pretty consistently averaging about 1 slippery fish per 10 collections from ponds.

Grubs have been about 1 every 10 dead trees.

Agreed. I?m super frustrated with this event. :( I have 7 wells 7 ponds and 5 special ponds and I frequent get 0 slippery fish from collecting from all of them...

I have 19 ponds and get one fish consistently. It was on the eleventh pond, then twelfth, then on the fourteenth.

That's how I see it. I completely gave up on the mythical fish, and got all cows out of the storage.
