Prize Information

Armored Brimstone Steed (MRC): Spellbound Dew, Horse Hair, Fertilizer, Carrots, Sugar, Energy (Rare)

Brimstone Steed (1st/2nd LB prize): Energy, Horse Hair, Fertilizer, Carrots, Sugar

Underworld Steed (indiv prize): Trade Ticket, Horse Hair, Fertilizer, Carrots, Sugar



The following notes have been generally consistent from season to season. Season specific information may be posted in the respective discussion thread.

* Check you can spawn monsters!
* Pink Skunkupines don't drop tokens when you defeat them. They might spawn from pink and wedding alicorns.
* Gem horses may not spawn glimmer trolls.
* Trolls may be included but they change from being included season to season.
* Monsters also drop their normal items in addition to the tokens.
* Do the Bronze Hunter Trade if you are nearly maxed on Shield tokens so that they don't go to waste.
* A Level 5 Jousting Arena will spawn a monster on every collection. Link to Jousting Arena Renovations (https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?83751-Castle-Story-08-06-Update-Jousting-Arena-Renovations-(levels-4-amp-5)) thread.
* The Mythic Research Center (from L22) crafts are available to craft anytime if you have the tokens.
* If it's your first Monster Hunt, the new trades might appear after you do 1 of any trade in the Trade Wagon.
* Remember to collect from Princess Lorelei's fountain for a chance at gold tokens (about a 1 in 3 drop rate)

* BLUE DIRE BOARS will only spawn once a day.


* Pigs and cows spawn the Brimstone Steed - this is the only way to get brimstone tokens to craft the items in the forge for additional points. These are not dropping silver shield tokens. They do give LB points.

* Normal monsters (golems, dire boars, fangies, skunks, marmosea, mud muddlings, swamp snakes, wisp, fauns, aquanthers, toxified spirit) will drop silver shield tokens during battle and others if applicable on defeat. They also give LB points.

Win all three events in the month of October to get enough Ghostly Horseshoes to craft the Ghost Alicorn!

To win the Ghostly Alicorn you will need to do/have done the following:

- Complete the main goals and win Queen Winifred in the Halloween Community event (10/1-10/14)
- Complete all milestone goals in the Nightmare LB, and win the Underworld Steed (available at 2300 LB points) (10/15-10/21)
- Complete the main goals and choose your prize in the Til Death Do Us Part event (10/22-11/4)
- Complete the "Trick-or-Tokens" goals to make prizes in the Spooky Shack as you win spooky supplies. You will only need to make what the goals ask for, but you can make multiple of the earlier prizes (Pumpkins/Gates/Spell Circle) if you wish. You need to complete these goals to unlock the prize crafts.

* At the end of this event you will have enough supplies (if you follow the Trick or Token goals in order) to craft the 3 pumpkin candles (to complete goal 2)

* 3 spooky bundles were released in this event
* Once you craft the 3rd Pumpkin Candle, the Webbed Gate is unlocked. You will have enough items to craft 1 Webbed Gate. The next event will provide additional supplies to craft the 2nd Webbed Gate required in goal 3
* All other trades are still locked (ie, the Spell Circle, Haunted Garden, and the Ghost Alicorn)
* Spooky Supply Bundle 1 of 3 (complete goal 1): 50 webbed rope, 20 iron spider, 50 pumpkin seeds, 5 ghostly horseshoe, 15 restless spirit, 15 summoning spell
* Spooky Supply Bundle 2 of 3 (complete goal 6): 75 webbed rope, 25 iron spider, 100 pumpkin seeds, 5 ghostly horseshoe, 10 restless spirit, 10 summoning spell
* Spooky Supply Bundle 3 of 3 (When you get 1000 chandeliers and win Duchess Winifred) : 100 webbed rope, 20 iron spider, 50 pumpkin seeds, 5 ghostly horseshoe, 5 restless spirit, 5 summoning spell

* At the end of this event you will have enough supplies (if you follow the Trick or Token goals in order) to craft the 2nd webbed gate, 1 spell circle and 7 haunted garden tokens towards the Haunted Garden

* You need to win all 20 available ghostly horseshoes in this October event to get the Ghostly Alicorn.
* Spooky bundle 1 awarded for getting 40 points on the Leaderboard - bundle includes: 50 webbed rope, 50 iron spiders, 50 pumpkin seeds, 5 ghostly horseshoes, 15 restless spirits, 25 summoning spells
* Spooky bundle 2 awarded for getting 1300 points on the Leaderboard - bundle includes: 75 webbed rope, 50 iron spiders, 50 pumpkin seeds, 10 ghostly horseshoes
10 restless spirits, 20 summoning spells
* Spooky bundle 3 awarded for getting 2300 points on the Leaderboard - bundle includes: 100 webbed rope, 5 ghostly horseshoes, 10 summoning sepll, 50 pumpkin seeds, 50 iron spider, 5 restless spirit, plus the Underworld Steed as the final individual prize which also shows up on the reward screen with the bundle items

* Note: lower and mid level points are different point scores but the bundle contents are the same.

Usually we can get LB points for fighting the non-"standard" beasts from specific questlines, but we do NOT get tokens for them...

Purple Glimmer Golems from Horses, too! One pet of a horse = guaranteed 1 Golem spawn to chop away at during MH. 🤩
I usually focus on the Glimmer Golems and my once daily Blue Dire Boar, and I do pretty well earning enough tokens to trade for Golden Troll Tokens for the MRC! ❤️

It's nice to sometimes spawn monsters that drop supplies for opening up more land.
Swamp land Far East needs snakes and mudlings
Elemental event has the toxic spirit
Area where stone animals are located need wisps


Each day during LB event, we get 3 monster hunt goals in the goal book that give token rewards, helpful for the event
Spawn 5 fang beasts (too energy intensive imo, I ignore this one)
Spawn 1 blue dire boar from dead tree (I do it each day)
Spawn 1 golem from horse (I do each day, and it is my primary monster I use for these events)

Spawn the new horse monster from cows or pigs....I consider this to also be very energy intensive and only do when I get cross eyed from too many golems. However, they drop items that can be used to craft turn in items for points in leaderboard.

I am on a mission for all three of these new beauties! I already got my Underworld Steed (and an extra sea kelpie, score!). My spooky supplies gave me enough (from all three bundles) to finish the webbed gate AND the spell circle goals. I’ve unlocked my haunted garden goal and have half the tokens needed for that. I also crafted more alicorn tokens and only need three more tokens (from the next event, since I finished this one) to get my Alicorn! Wahoo! I could have probably gotten my haunted garden this round but I crafted the alicorn tokens first.

Crafted - 10 webbed gate tokens / One Webbed Gate
Crafted - 10 spell circle tokens / one spell circle
Crafted - 5 haunted garden tokens
Crafted - can’t remember how many but I think it was 5 alicorn tokens

If you need me, I’ll be ****ing all the purole glimmer golems I can find for the next 5 days. Gold troll tokens, come to me!

what happens when you go into your goal book - the one called New Discovery: Armored Brimstone steed and click on the GO button? Does it take you to the MRC menu? That's truly strange. What normally happens is that if you can't place it, then it returns to storage. I visited you to see if I could see it, but no... might need you to reach out to support if it's teleported out of your queendom! :)

Trick-or-Tokens Info for SW: The point tiers scale for lower-levels to receive the bundles as first bundle at 40 Points, second at 1140 Points, and then the ghostly horseshoes at 1750 Points according to the Goal book. ❤️

Ooo I didn't know this. I am having better luck spawning wisps from the grand rooted lilium tree than cloudberry bushes. I went through over 20 bushes with no spawn. But for the tree I was able to get a few skunkupines and wisps, one fang beast. Skunkupines will be good later if I need to spawn something like for weekend warrior. I'm getting back a lot of my energy on wisps plus 4-5 sword tokens. Thank you zoroak for the tip.:)

You are welcome! I have a surplus of energy but am lazy on topping up expansion materials so I usually take the opportunity during monster hunts to **** 2 birds with one stone. Top up expansion stuff and get some much needed sword tokens, win-win!

The following notes have been generally consistent from season to season. Season specific information may be posted in the respective discussion thread.

* Check you can spawn monsters!
* Pink Skunkupines don't drop tokens when you defeat them. They might spawn from pink and wedding alicorns.
* Gem horses may not spawn glimmer trolls.
* Trolls may be included but they change from being included season to season.
* Monsters also drop their normal items in addition to the tokens.
* Do the Bronze Hunter Trade if you are nearly maxed on Shield tokens so that they don't go to waste.

Another tip for those who have steamed ahead and completed part II of An Elemental Discovery and have the Ancient octopus:

It is a guaranteed Mithril dropper, 8h. Handy for the mithril-hungry steed craft in this event.

Also bear in mind when crafting the armoured Brimstone steed which requires 75 mithril, part III of an Elemental Discovery requires, I think, 25 Mithril.

I know, I reported this the last MH...apparently S8 doesn't want it to spawn. Since Sir Daisy and Alcina spawn, this doesn't make sense to me, but it is what it is.

You don't have to win your leaderboard and you don't have to do any other trades/goals.
You only need to win the Underworld Steed at 2300 Points. That's completing the event.
(you will get 3x Spooky Supplies. at 40 points, 1300 points and 2300 points)

I'm not sure if you are bugged or not. On your main account, do you see an 231 icon on the upper right side of your screen? That opens leaderboard. You should also have 3 monster hunt goals in the goal book on the upper left if your screen.

So, To Selasane: It looks like you'll need to level up twice in your lower level kingdom before the MH will be playable... I found that visiting tons of Neighbors for extra Exp (it adds up!) and targeting the easy-complete Questlines from my Goal book that gave the most exp helped me level up really quick in the teens! To win the Ghostly Alicorn you will need to do/have done the following:

- Complete the main goals and win Queen Winifred in the Halloween Community event (10/1-10/14)
- Complete all milestone goals in the Nightmare LB, and win the Underworld Steed (available at 2300 LB points) (10/15-10/21)
- Complete the main goals and choose your prize in the Til Death Do Us Part event (10/22-11/4)
- Complete the "Trick-or-Tokens" goals to make prizes in the Spooky Shack as you win spooky supplies. You will only need to make what the goals ask for, but you can make multiple of the earlier prizes (Pumpkins/Gates/Spell Circle) if you wish. You need to complete these goals to unlock the prize crafts.

Yes, the Toxified Spirit spawns from Bushes and now also drops Tokens when you fight her.
It's the one you need to fight to get the Poisoned Maps for the current Elemental Main Story Line.

I'm sorry you have trouble with your MRC.
But keep collecting the Golden Troll Tokens. Crafts in the MRC can be done outside Monster Hunts too, so when your problem is fixed you can spent them.

I only recently acquired a horse or two (I think for the previous event) and while they were expensive it's all for improving my realm. I collected from one and a Glimmer Golem spawned. It freaked me out and took forever to ****. I didn't know that was Monster Hunt only. As consequence, I avoided clicking on my horses many, MANY levels after because I didn't want a 99 HP monster on my board. I'm talking like 10-20 levels after I participated more in the board and learned otherwise. I just thought horses were scary monster spawners.

Actually just 3000 coins every 12 hr. Technically drops include guaranteed spellbound dews and chance of energy but I never got any because energy is a (very) rare drop and I'm always maxed on dews.

I think this animal finally Won the Most ripoff craft title in the MRC.

SpiritWind always posts prize info, usually at the top of her post on the first page so make sure to check to find out the full list of drops for all the new animals in this hunt.

For 85 gold tokens, the ABS has very ordinary drops (with only a chance for energy, spellbound dew).

I made the Armored brimstone Steed. These horses are large in compare to others, that’s why I decided on it to be a pair to underworld steed, so it won’t look weird all by himself. Drops are just awful for the price, but I had to use my token on something. It looks good.

I don't understand why S8 didn't make it a guaranteed energy dropper for that price (it really seems disproportionately expensive for it's drops) + it's been a while since new guaranteed energy droppers were added.
I still have a lot to craft and this Steed won't be high on my list.

Just to follow up with Ronja's reply to this, which I agree with, just want to add:
I have found the Toxified Spirit to drop Shield Tokens, as well as Sword Tokens (and Staff Tokens I think). I do NOT believe they drop actual Troll Tokens (which are gold color), we sometimes call them Gold Tokens.

I just went from 0 to 98 poisoned maps on this hunt by battling Tox Spirits, and not one Troll Token dropped but plenty of the silver tokens did. I think we commonly refer to all the tokens as troll tokens, yet there really is an actual item called Troll Token that was not dropped by any of the 30+ Toxified Spirits I met up with during this hunt.

I wouldnt want anyone who isn't at a certain point in storylines yet to think they are missing out on the gold Troll Tokens from Toxified Spirits. You're not.

Yes, I agree about the armored one. I started this MH with 99 troll tokens, nothing I wanted to buy, and both portals at max. So I immediately bought one thinking something that used that many gold tokens and so much mithril would either drop trade tickets or energy. Don?t think SW had had time to post anything at that stage as it was still early here. So I feel like they ripped us off, extremely disappointed. I think I they should rethink its drops, trade tickets would be appropriate.

Yes, the MRC crafts are always available. Gold troll tokens are limited to 99, yes. If in doubt, what to do to check is go into your inventory and check the back of the inventory card. It will tell you what the cap is. The 3 silver tokens are capped at 120.

I have slowed my all out push to get the gold troll tokens this monster hunt. There is nothing left in the MRC that I truly want so I have slowed down. I never try to attempt to get 1st or 2nd in the leader board ( I obtained 2nd place last time). I am thinking the next timed event could be energy intensive since we are attempting to obtain our last horseshoes for the new Ali. I want to have some energy banked. If the new horse dropped energy and/or tickets every time it would be different. I am leaning toward getting more armored lizards ( less expensive) but there is no rush so I am slowing down. Work is stressful right now (I'm a reading teacher) so I want any gaming I do to be relaxing and not rushed.

In need of help, I was so engrossed in working on elementary goal I decided to forgo the Halloween goal. Then after working on the monster hunt it was step 2 on the Halloween part. Have gotten all the prizes on monster hunt & trying to go back to the Halloween to catch up. Have gotten as far as making the first gate & am short of the spider webs for making the 2nd gate. i just crafted my 4th golden peacock. I too like the way they look and their drops. What other items are you considering and what are your needs (energy? / expansion ?/ etc.) ? I don't have plans to craft the cooking camp since my kitchens are idle a lot too.

Did you complete the last event and get Winfred? If so then you have all the rewarded spooky shack supplies rewarded so far. If you did not complete the last event you won't get enough supplies (horseshoes for sure) to get the new Ali. See post #3 in this thread for more information too. I am doing the the items in the shack in order but I know some players are not. S8 did report that if you complete all three events you will have enough supplies to make all crafts and some extras if you want. I doubt purchasing the web gate will check off the goal since the goal says to 'trade tokens for gates'. If you purchase the date you are not doing the trade so I don't think it will check off the goal. However, I am already past that goal an working one the garden goal.

i just crafted my 4th golden peacock. I too like the way they look and their drops. What other items are you considering and what are your needs (energy? / expansion ?/ etc.) ? I don't have plans to craft the cooking camp since my kitchens are idle a lot too.

Since I will max out on gold coins before the end of the monster event, and I don?t want to waste good monster event time by not continuing to collect them, what would everyone recommend I purchase? The way you describe your Leaderboard Rank doesn't sound right.
You should be grouped with 20 other players, and you should be able to see them and yourself in the list/ ranking. (and you should be able to visit the other players)
Is it just you in the list?
Are you number 1, or are all numbers/ rankings gone?

The most important thing about these Monster Hunts (at least in my opinion ;)) is getting Golden Troll Tokens (you can convert your silver Tokens in the Trade Wagon) and winning the personal Goal prize (check under 'Goal' in the Beast Master overview)
This time the personal prize is the Underworld Steed, and he is fantastic! He is a guaranteed trade ticket dropper.
You need to earn 2300 Points to get him.
If I were you I would forget about the ranking and just focus on you own Points and Troll Tokens. Don't waste time fighting the Brimstone Steeds, they won't give you Points. (edit, or they do give Point, but no Tokens? I wouldn't fight them either way)
Fight Purple Golems (spawn from Horses) and anything else you can spawn.

It would be such a shame to just work on the Elemental Main Goal and miss out on the rest.
I'm sorry you can no longer craft the Ghost Alicorn, but there is so much more going on right now. The Alicorn is just an extra bonus.

Each time you trade your Spooky Supplies in the Spooky Shack (for Tokens), there is a chance decoration will drop. So the Supplies are not useless.
And the current personal prize (in the Monster Hunt) for getting 2300 Points is fantastic. (with other nice prizes along the way)
The next event will have it's own prizes and Spooky Supply batches as a bonus.

The Spooky Supplies are rewards for participating in (and completing) events.
If you completed the last event (got Winifred), and if you completed this event (got the Underworld Steed) than you should be at part 5 of the 'Trick-Or-Tokens' Goal and you should have 7 (out of 10) Haunted Garden Tokens.
Spooky Supplies to craft more Tokens will be rewarded next event (in 3 batches probably).

If you want energy, I think saving up for the Wizard's Portal or Armored Direwolf is a better way to go. Those are guaranteed energy droppers. (I especially like the Wizard's portal!)
I have the Black Bears and I don't regret crafting them.. but the energy drop is very rare (like with dragons).
I like they still drop 1000+ Coins so it never feels like a waste to collect from them, but if you want energy you will be disappointed.

The Wizard's Portal is similar to the the Wizard's School. Only with a 5 hour wait, and less energy drop (starts at 4 energy, and you can upgrade the portal so it drops 8 energy every 5 hours).
It's a lot of Tokens you probably can't gather in 1 Hunt, but I definitely think they are worth it.

I'm also very fond of my Golden Peacocks. Highly recommended!
They are cheap, gorgeous and good Golden Item droppers (still rare though)
(I love you can also use them in events where you need chicken drops)

For his price I would not put it high on my 'to craft' wish list.

Thank you for the great info! Totally changing my plans and going for the direwolves and then the energy portals before anything else! I always run out of energy so fast and still have a ton of main story lines to complete so I need all of the guaranteed energy resources I can get!

You should have gotten him immediately after reaching 2300 Points.
Double check your storage (and your Realm), but if you didn't get him you can submit a Ticket. S8 can help with these kind of things.

The only thing I do not like in the event is you only get 1 bit and 1 point. I count my points as I hit and it is only 1. When you use the boost you get 2 points and only 2 points. So I do not see a reason for the pop up block saying how many points you received when it is wrong. I can tell how many more points I will get by how much energy I have.

Right now there’s a value pack offering 15 mins of unlimited energy, 700 points and various amounts of the helms/bridles etc for even more points. That, plus the boost and lots of glimmer golems during the 15 mins of energy makes the points add up. That’s how I’ve gotten my position on the LB even tho I’m just going for as many gold tokens as physically possible. :-)

but I jump 3000 points when I use my weekly energy (Alicorns etc) with the 2xboost.

The moment you reached the 1800 Point, you get a pop-up showing you what is in the chests.
It could be Points, Coins, Energy, Rotten Cabbages, Tokens.
The pop-up is easily missed, so it might seem like you didn't get anything.
Now you know, pay extra attention next Monster Hunt. (usually the prizes aren't great, so don't get you hopes up)

That's a good point, yet even if it were a measly 3+ energy per collection that would at least put it on par with the Armored Direwolf, whose build resources are similar:

(3 energy * 2 collections a day * 5 days) - 10 energy to collect = 20 energy

Yes. Destrier and the spring steed are also the energy sources that I forgetfully collect from during MH, spawning purple golems.

Mithrils are an ultra-rare drop for the Dark Knight. I’ve had him for a couple of months, since the event, and in that time I think I’d only had 5 or 6 Mithril drops from him.

The Armored Brimstone isn?t tied to an event. It was introduced during this event .. but it?s a permanent MRC item and it?s drops SUCK

The requirements for Armored Brimstone Steed in MRC are enormous. It is a pity that he is not a guaranteed energy dropper . Although he should. Unless it gives energy rarely, but a lot. ;)
Because I guess the S8 didn't create such a beautiful and expensive creature for Horse Hair?

That maybe it, though, as you said, a creature that costs that much to craft should at least be a guaranteed dropper. Perhaps SW might help us check to see if this is as intended?

I had some time on my hands so I pushed myself for this event. Starting with a stockpile of 18K worth of energy, I finished off with 35K points and 289 Troll Tokens. However, due to insufficient Mithril, I couldn't craft the Armored Brimstone Steed or Armored Dire Wolf, so I ended up with three extra Kitty Knights, an extra Armored Kelpie, and an extra Armored Siren.

I still have enough left over for either the ABS or ADW when my mithril count gets back up, but I think I'll stick to another ADW instead from the feedback here. :blue:

Well according to what has been said throughout the series of events you will have to win all 3 major event prizes, the duchess from event 1, the blue steed from leaderboard and the main event prize for the upcoming event. But who knows, maybe S8 will have a horshoe sale where you can purchase the missing horshoes? 🤷*♀️ I would still craft tokens and get what I can from the spooky shack bc sometimes Halloween items will drop. I got a Halloween puppy this time as well as some pirate deco (not sure where that fits).

The Dire Wolf drops 20, 40 or 60 Energy every 5 days.
Mostly 20 from what I picked up here on the Forum. I don't have them myself.
I would choose the Cabbage Hut if I were you, but that's just personal preference like all Golden Token choices.

I think I got around 3 Golden Troll Tokens from Lorelei too, that's nice indeed! And I got 1 from the Beastbane Display this morning. :D

I absolutely love Monster hunts and this one did not disappoint. I still have so many MRC crafts on my wishlist that these hunts can't seem to come often enough.
This time, in a strange twist of events, I even finished first on the Leader Board! I was working on Troll Tokens only and not focussing on the LB, and I guess the rest of the team wasn't either! I am super stoked. I got 3 Lizards, an Armored Widow, a beautiful Blue steed and a Red steed as an unexpected but very lovely bonus.

This mention of the cabbage hut reminded me of that option. So I went to check how many gold tokens I ended up with last night. Can you believe I have exactly 69 gold tokens in my inventory?? I'll get the one missing token from my Beastbane Display or one of the Unicorns eventually, but still - *facepalm*. Oh well. It was late last night and I wanted to go to sleep, so I stopped once I had reached the energy limit I had set myself. I could easily have gotten one more gold token if I had just noticed, lol.

I managed to earn my last 2 Unicorns, and an Armored Alicorn! 🥰
Not the best Golden Troll Token haul compared to others but i'm quite pleased for still relying on daily energy regen + my small weekly/daily Alicorn herd. 😊
Went to bed early and ended up in 5th place with 5,007 Points; 1st prize had 10,453 Points (Purchasing Packs daily from what I saw, no energy droppers out at all so that was interesting to see- pure energy packs!), and 2nd was at around 8.1k points. I'm glad I wasn't really trying to keep up, and chose to focus purely on golems (when I could, a few times I forgot that Sir Pigg spawns the special beast 🤣 ).

Ok I see, I was hoping the armored dire wolf was like the daily alicorns. I already crafted all the alicorns and unicorns, wish there was more lol. I will just craft my second cabbage hut then and hopefully there will be some great items in the tent! Thanks Ronja! :)

Hi CS, may I suggest a tree chopping monster hunt so people can choose their prizes and maybe craft some of the ones that they missed out on? The winning 2 on LB had 20K and 18K points which is pretty discouraging for the rest of us.
