I dont think we should have to battle dragons that are higher than level 15 since thats the highest we can raise our dragons to.

I have so many dragons waiting to be healed and I am only on round 17. This is with using ads to bypass the one hour wait.

I am level 164 and have plenty of level 15 dragons and I have tried using resources to find best opponent for each round and still struggling. I dont think it should be this impossible. I would sit it out like always, except I actually like the reward dragon this time.

How do I beat a level 19 champion type?

I completely agree with you. We shouldn’t have to battle a level 20 dragon when we can only level ours to a 15. I have spent an entire day trying to get past a high level champion. I also feel like we should be rewarded a ultra rare champion.

Well now I’m just jealous, lol, cause I rarely win more than 12 battles during tournaments! Not only are we fighting opponents that are much higher levels than we are able to to raise our dragons to but they’re also almost all super or ultra rare dragons as well! We should be able to have a reasonable expectation of being able to win battles during tournaments/events!

I am an early player and the ability to win a tournament has increased dramatically even for those with many high level ultras and super rares. The last tourney we had an ultra rare to battle at round 4. Even recently Bingo battles have become very difficult. I don’t know if they are trying to **** this game or not but getting people continuously frustrated is not a way to get them to continue playing the game.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but for the last three or four tournaments, I get absolutely stuck at whatever champion dragon is on round 17. I have plenty level 15 champion and diamond dragons, and usually I am able to beat tournaments or at least get close. The last few tournaments I've been stuck on round 17 for 10+ tries, to the point where it doesn't seem like coincidence anymore.
Anyone else having this problem??

I used to have that problem with level 17 and 21 too. I find that if I mix up my dragons to battle level 17, it usually works. I always used diamond types to defeat all champs, but if it is a lower level champ, like a Huntress 16, I will use Mithril now, instead of Diamond, Achilles, Infinity or Valiant. Mithril is excellent against blue types, and Huntress is champ/blue. Glasswing is also good as a fighter against other champs. But getting the level 19 and 20 champs is still tough, and I have to cycle through my Diamond types to defeat them. Btw, I have lots of level 15 commons and they are duds. I know others experience great success with commons, but every island is different. Hope this helps.

I haven't been around much for here's what I've learned:

Before I had any Diamond or Champion dragons my level 13 Landworm, level 15 Fire, Forest, Water, Air and Metal beat just about everything. My level 13 Music and Athletic are surprising great fighters too).

Dragons from recent events, especially Dragon Tales, are also awesome fighters.

Lastly, I still use throwaway dragons when stuck. (ex. If all dragons have a low chance, I'll buy a use a level 1 Fire. If it loses I throw it away and repeat.)

I have failed ti finish 3 out of last 4 tournaments. Get to Level 27 or 28 and then defeat after defeat. I have Level 15 dragons across all elements plus lots of champion and diamond types, also at L15. Why on earth did I bother spending all that time and all that food to get to L15 if it gives no advantage in a tournament? If I knew what I know now I wouldn’t have bothered. It is so frustrating it almost feels a deliberate attempt to make us spend gold. I will not do it- not least because winning another dragon means sacrificing one I have already to make room. Tournaments are the only events I really enjoy these days ... but this is short lived if the current pattern continues and then it’s goodbye DS.

OMG
I should not have complained
Just defeated Round 9 dragon in the current tournament - roll back - I’m back at Round 5. That’s obviously a sign that once again I am not destined to complete the tournament.

Also have same issue, particularly with round 17. Have levelled up Passion (acquired via Codex) and Black Knight to 15 and, along with Air 15, Glasswing, Diamond they are my main fighters. My second level fighters are Supreme, Valiant, Chakra.

I noticed a difference with Android and iOS. On my Android phone it is easier to win battles if I follow the calculations but when I use my iPad, I lose a lot no matter if I picked the right dragon. They say it's no different but I know from experience, this is not the case. Also, please bring back the videos to Android as they're still available for iOS.

I?ve used gold to beat the bronzetalon level 17 dragon every single tournament the last four tournaments. It is physically an impossible dragon to defeat and you can?t convince me otherwise.

I've basically given up on battling except when needed to complete a bingo line.

I would LOVE the videos to come back to Android! I only have an Android device to use so I have no comparison to iOS.

I will say, like I did in the Duskshine thread - leveling Dark to 15 REALLY helped!

Celebrating! My regular metal dragon just obliterated the level 12 aquaknight (?) Champion in 1 hit!
For those who haven't found it, this guide has helped me a lot: Look for "fandom dragon story battle arena." ☺️
I still couldn't agree more that we shouldn't have to battle level 15+ dragons if we can't raise dragons past 15 and it takes about 100K food to even get there with most rate dragons and up. 😕

Yes, what on earth is up with that? I have both an iphone and a Droid, but sometimes I liked to play on the Droid while I was using the iphone for other things. Now I always have to use the iPhone if I want to get videos. Why did they take them away ? That doesnt make sense an disn't fair.

Yeah if that?s the case for android users, that?s really unfair. I?m tired of getting stuck on round 17 every time when I have to face a level 19 champion type.

Play the game as it was designed. Be patient and don?t let ur healing queue build up quickly. Beaten dragons don?t ?recharge? so all those dragons will be useless the rest of the tournament. I play tournaments every time and I always get to round 20 dragons and more than half the time I will win the tournament dragon. I rarely use gold, maybe 2 ultimates max but most times I can finish without gold spend. I never use the speed up option from watching videos. Most times I do play it right to the end of the timer, only occasionally finishing with one or two days to spare. Patience is key since u need your dragons to ?recharge?.

To keep your healing queue short, send in some cannon fodder. I use level 1 fire or water dragons when I have dragons in the healing spa, especially when dealing with a tough pure diamond or champion. They will soften up the opponent and sometime will even win. Those that lose I just sell off (no healing required)

At the end of a tournament I will usually only have one or two dragons that need healing, which means ALL my other dragons are recharging for the next tourney! I also minimally play the arena between tournaments. I will only do enough to earn one of the battle parts dragons in a whole month (used to get 2 or 3 when I was playing more seriously). Again this means most of my top fighters are idle and recharging for the next tourney. Save ur best fighter man for when u need them near the end

"Beaten dragons don?t ?recharge? so all those dragons will be useless the rest of the tournament."

I don't know what this means. I heal dragons and use them again in the same tournament all the time. I've read posts from other people saying the same thing - they heal the dragon that lost and then try it again, and it wins.

In case you have not noticed in the tournament threads - I finally took skyharbor602's advice and raised my Dark dragon to level 15 and he's been doing great against the Champion types. He's only 400 essence in the codex and does not take to much food to raise up.

So, here are my new go-to's

Diamond and Achilles at 15 - first go at level 17 and below hard champions (pure champion types, Amazon, Harmony Knight) and Diamond types
Dark 15 - new go to for high level pure champs (17-20 pure champions, Amazon, Harmony Knight)
Mithril and Croconile at 12 - go tos for other champions (Huntress, Mithril, Plunder, etc).
Creator 14 - go to for cosmic, pink, white
Dark Omen 14 - go to for blue, purple, yellow green
Glasswing 14 - general go to if I'm not sure. I generally do not use him for pink and cosmic but for some of the same colors as Dark Omen.
Aquarknight 13 - I use him similar to Glasswing but mostly for battling with Tropic type bingo square.
Jungle Warrior at 14 and Delver at 12 - first option if I'm trying to get a bingo square for winning with a stone type dragon

I raised Music to 12 for the bingo square but I do not use him as much in tournaments
Triceratops is my go to for Dino bingo square but he's only at 10 and I'm very cautious about fighting with him because it isn't great.

I will say I notice a big difference between level 10 and 12 with battling for the same dragon - they just seem to get exponentially better.

I do use my other level 12 to 14 dragons at times, these are just my standards that seem to do well when I'm in a hurry or not in a place where I can verify with the chart.

I still miss the videos, they would be nice to have but having that Dark dragon means in the last two tournaments I finished with two days to spare.

Sorry for the confusion. Beaten unhealed dragons. So if you let a long line of dragons form for your healing spa, all of them won?t start recharging until u heal them.

I just finished the tourney. No gold spent. Lost half a day. Slept about 7 hours a night :) zero main dragons waiting to be healed. Have a bunch of level 1 water and fire dragons I?m going to discard.

FYI, after my recent GB win I do have a strong Level 15 fighting roster. This tourney I used 9 super rare pure champions, 3 rare pure champions, 4 mixed champions, 3 pure diamonds and a handful mixed type favs. Only 2 are level 10 (a super rare and rare pure champion) for dealing with lower level tourney opponents.

That said go back a few months and I was doing fine with only 4 level 15 pure champion super rares, and 2 level 15 pure diamonds, and one level 15 passion. All the others above were level 10 and were perfectly usable against up to level 14-15 opponents.

To illustrate with an example, let?s say I have 3 pure diamonds (ABC). Over 6 hours against a level 20 pure champion, assume they all fail.
R1 - A - heal
R2 - B
R3 - A (out of spa) - heal
R4 - C
R5 - A (out of spa) - heal
R6 - throw in some other random dragon
R7 - A (our of spa) - heal
And then I go to sleep for 8 hours. None of these dragons are recharging over night. Maybe A will start charging after the two hour heal (even though it is still in the spa), but B and C definitely won?t. I didn?t write this algorithm, so I don?t know if a healed dragon not yet released from the spa is treated like a dragon already outside of the spa.

How I would play this would be:
R1 - A - heal
R2 - Level 1 fire - discard
R3 - B - heal (A is out of spa and recharging)
R4 - Level 1 water - discard
R5 - C - heal (B is out of spa and recharging)
R6 - Level 1 fire/water - discard
R7 - A - heal (C is out of spa and recharging)
Now I go to sleep for 8 hours and B and C are recharging overnight.

Note that dragons that have lost, healed but had not had a lot of time to recharge perform worse than fresh dragons with no recent fighting. I imagine there?s a meter that might recharge slowly over a full day. This is why I don?t send in the level 15s until I hit rounds with level 15-16 dragons. I might even use a level 11-14 mixed type dragon If I can pick the right types against the opponents types. I do a lot of dragon rotating and keep a simple mental track of which dragon?s been thrown into the ring before. It?s good exercise for the brain :D

There is still a lot of luck involved in this game. I had level 1 fire dragons smacking down a round 29 level 15 pure champion more than a few times in my many years playing. A low charge dragon could still have this lucky strike. The opponent dragon will also have been ?softened up? by the previous attempts, so it?s not the same matchup as the first time loss.

Level 8 Templar dragon just beat my:
15 diamond
10 infinity
7 dark
13 black knight
Before my level 10 forest dragon beat it. Weirdly enough, my forest dragon has beaten 3 champion types in a row

In the current battle arena - for the Generosity dragon..

Has anyone had success in round 17 against the level 19 Tower dragon? Half my dragons are exhausted because of it and it just won?t go down. I know I?m not going to be able to complete this tournament at this point, but still was interested to know what you guys might have had any success.

Tower is a hybrid Champion with Green type so a pure Champion would have an advantage against it.
Other than ADDIPS, Dark15, Metal15 has been recommended by a few knowledgeable battle arena veterans

Sorry to read that happened to you. Sometimes we seem to be picked as a victim of an almost undefeatable opponent. Mine was 30 tries before finally defeating a L20 pure Champion years ago.
Looks like you need to find a Champion ****er for your island if Dark, Metal does not work.
If ADIPPS also do not KO Tower,
as Fire (Red), Mythic, Royal is strong against green you can try these single type dragons against Tower.
Goodluck.

I'm getting tired of these recent tournaments with so many Champions back to back. I thought they used to be spaced out, like 1 Champion every 5 battles (not exactly, but on average). I don't know how the rest of y'all do it, especially without spending gold. My Strategy is to try to make sure I get past 5-6 battles per day. Day 1 I am usually able to knock out about 10, leaving me a little leeway for the rest of the tournament. Ideally I would then allow myself to use gold 1x per day if needed to beat a really tough opponent and keep up on my 5-6 wins for the day. However, with constant back to back champions, I just can't get through. i have 4 accounts and am lucky if I win on 1 account, and that is always with using a few gold along the way. One of my accounts isn't even getting the month-long tournament dragon, and it has lots of champions, diamonds, dark, you name it, to beat opponents.
