Checking out restaurant before accepting as a neighbour

Is there a way of visiting a restaurant before accepting an invitation to be neighbours? Someone must have seen my id on another wall and I want to check them out before accepting as a neighbour.

I accept the neighbor request, immediately visit, and then remove them if they're not up to my standards (lax as those standards are). I don't think the other person can tell the difference between that and your declining the invite unless they happen to be looking at their neighbor list at the exact moment you're doing it, which is unlikely.
