Benefit of having more than one?

I was wondering what the benefit of having more than one animal in the pen? I have 3 bears and 3 zebras but it seems like I receive the same amount of xp and coins when I had just 1.

It drops 2 cash items for me...
It gives me double when I have 2 of the same animal
