I have several but still received the sale - I think it's likely you missed it because yesterday's DB Sale was super short, like they were in the beginning. So far as I can tell, the Tinsel Ram was only on offer for a mere 7 hours where we've become used to the DBs being listed for 24 before disappearing.

Yes. 7 hours then gone is crazy. I?m in Australia & it appears available at 6am, gone by 1pm. So for Aussie players, who haven?t got time to check while getting ready for work & working days, it must suck.

$160 for a rainbow mantis & all it gives is **** we can?t use or are maxed out on?. If it dropped explorer permits every hour, it?d kinda be worth the $$.

But only being available for real cash - no thank you!
No matter how amazing the drops are. (which they are not anyways)

Seems to be a trend that this game is putting the pressure on to spend real money.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say again:
I do NOT spend money when feeling forced to do so.
I only spend money to reward the game on expectional gameplay and design.
If this trend continues I will be less inclined to spend any money.

The Kissy Booth is similar to Valkyrie, so far I?m averaging 5-6 per collection.

If you don’t have a Sweetheart Shack you won’t be able to benefit from those drops from her, but she does drop a variety of petals if you need those, and she’s a beautiful piece to have in the realm. The same goes for the Cupid’s Statue and Harp, they’ll benefit players who have the shack that still need items, but otherwise just make for nice decos. Hope this helps!

Is it just me or is the price for the kissy-booth too steep? Not so long ago Sweet Tooth were offered for a much lower price, which also occupies less space in my realm. Lake of space became my major problem as a medium lvl player. Even if I would consider buying it, I cant place it on my board. Think I am going to pass and await better offers.

It's a bit like the round table for me - too high release price for me, too large a footprint.... But if I had the resources to be a Collector I would totally snap it (kissy booth for energy) up anyway. : )

Edit add: the pink animals that drop deco (baby pink direwolf, pink wee mink, and pink baby fangie) - I got them from the Baron's tent last year and I LOVE THEM. I have hundreds of walls for each type now and am still collecting from them *every* time. As I expand, I need more walls, and these guys deliver. They also drop towers, gates, and, I forget which one, drops occasional sweetheart benches and other such items. Awesome sauce. : ) If you don't have them but like the deco they drop, they totally pay for themselves within a week, and you can't often buy what they drop. :love-struck:

Daily energy dropper seem to always be offered at 400 and maybe a year later you may see them on sale for 200. Last year the sweet tooth was 400. But the sweet tooth generally drops 2 or 3 although I do get the occasional 100 while the kissing booth gives
about 6 plus a lot of coins.

I adore the Kissy Booth and think the concept/artwork are superb, it may be my new favorite V-day item.

However, I'm standing firm with a resounding NO to the 400g price tag. For where I'm at in my playing, it is downright silly for me to spend such a large amount on a single item whose drops just will not reflect its price tag. I love collecting new and exclusive items as much as the next gal but I'll sit this one out and wait for a time that the Kissy Booth price is actually discounted, even if it's years from now. I'm getting a little bored with the fact that the only new items we ever see in sales are these 400g energy droppers, but maybe that's just me?

P.S. - Maybe next year we can see the Heart Rose Path, Valentine plants and a few non-gem items listed as well?

NVM, they are interspersed with the Event items. I expected them all to be at the front like the Doorbusters!
I might have gotten the Romantic Fountain if it actually had drops, instead of plain deco.

I adore the Kissy Booth and think the concept/artwork are superb, it may be my new favorite V-day item.

However, I'm standing firm with a resounding NO to the 400g price tag. For where I'm at in my playing, it is downright silly for me to spend such a large amount on a single item whose drops just will not reflect its price tag. I love collecting new and exclusive items as much as the next gal but I'll sit this one out and wait for a time that the Kissy Booth price is actually discounted, even if it's years from now. I'm getting a little bored with the fact that the only new items we ever see in sales are these 400g energy droppers, but maybe that's just me?

P.S. - Maybe next year we can see the Heart Rose Path, Valentine plants and a few non-gem items listed as well?

I'm pretty sure that when she was on offer in last year's sale it was established that she only dropped the Quivers during the Sweetheart Shack event. I'd recommend checking the old sales thread to be certain.

I have all 3 animals from the event, so I don't have trade #3 in my Sweetheart Shack anymore, and that must be why my Cupid Faerie doesn't drop quivers. The animals are: Sweetheart trade III - Love birds, Pink flyger cub, Sweetheart unicorn (in that order) | max 1 per pet.
I took out the Cupid's Statue and that still drops Love Potion #5, and the Cupid's Harp had a few seconds freeze/lag but then dropped a Love Ballad (needed for trade #2). So I bet the Cupid Faerie will drop the quivers until you get all 3 animals. Go for the Sweetheart Unicorn first if you can, it's a weekly Alicorn! I keep my Love Birds with my Glimmerdust Troves, they don't drop it 100% of the time but seems to drop Glimmerdust more than my Glimmer Golem or Glimmer Manticore. Not sure if the drops are those queendom-specific types (like people whose Firefly Cove regularly give Trade Tickets or Expansion Permits, while mine usually gives Earth Wisps)

If you don?t have a Sweetheart Shack you won?t be able to benefit from those drops from her, but she does drop a variety of petals if you need those, and she?s a beautiful piece to have in the realm. The same goes for the Cupid?s Statue and Harp, they?ll benefit players who have the shack that still need items, but otherwise just make for nice decos. Hope this helps!

Fire piglet drops sweetheart gate, fences, path. Love pea drops sweetheart bench from barons tent and romantic path, gate, fence Ext and the fangpea drops the wedding arch, fence, etc. I have the fire piglet and it drops the white fence with roses which I like best but wish I'd gotten love pea for the chance at the bench.

I collected from my four and got a total of 17-so a net gain of 13-I'm very happy with that-great return on the money! I'm a bigger believer that if you max out in this game you seem to get a bigger return because 1 of the 4 will generally throw out a bigger number.

On sale for 200 gems. Was just wondering if buying him starts a quest or do you just buy him for seeing him walking around? If it is the latter then 200 gems is a steep price for that.

He won't start goals; he was the prize for completing one. Be mindful that if you're over the cap then you won't be able to place him on your board even if you buy him. He will stay in the Town Square until you make room for him though.

Wow, that is fantastic. Thanks for posting! Like a daily Ali, but one you can collect from 4-5 times a day (400-500 gems worth!). Considering a daily ali on sale is 100 gems or more, and space considerations (esp as we are cramping for an expansion sale), this is actually a fantastic bargain.

I knew it was too good to be true. Check your Feanor timers. Mine says 17+ hours till next collection.

If they are gonna pull a stunt like this, there needs to be more accurate information about what were getting. If you want the 4 hour timer to be only for a short period of time, they you need to say so up front instead of sneaking it in afterwards.

I simply don?t buy this. On this forum is had been know for 2 DAYS that Feanor was a 4h drop creature. We all know that S8 reads the forums and was aware of it, but still S8 decided not to do anything about it cause a lot of people were buying Feanor. Two days later S8 decides to pull out the 4h plug and replace it with a 24h one. Even if S8 couldn?t fix it right away the decent thing was to put a warning message on this forum. Like hee guys we made a mistake, please be aware that Feanor will be turned back into a 24h timer, but enjoy the fruits as long as you can. I am of the opinion that S8 has to do more that give an apologize and help players out who will like there gems back in return for their Feanors. Please make this right S8 and maintain your credibility.

And the looks/animation, which are rockin' cool. : )

We were all excited about how great Feanor was, I don't know why S8 didn't like to make players happy. Well can you at least make him similar to other special edition energy droppers (such as Ianthe and Valkyrie) by increasing the coins amount? Right now he drops a measly 50 coins. Me too, i was done with paying for unguarenteed items with only a chance to win but i always said i will keep playing the game because there is still plenty of stuff to do.

Well this Feanor scam seemed like a guarantee, but now it turned into a literal scam. I am done with this company completely, i won't be logging into the game period unless there is a major rectification.

If they made a mistake they should have just let us keep it. Why on earth would it be more important for this company to have angry dissatified CUSTOMERS who have now lost all faith and trust.

I told my husband what happened - he is a senior player of another game I won't name for forum rules, really well known, diff company. His jaw literally dropped. As a veteran of some hairy tours, not much makes his jaw drop.

You do not need to be a lawyer (I am, not in the US though) to recognize false advertising and breach of contract, most likely done with bad faith in addition. Case for damages is a no-brainer here if someone really wanted to go forward with this one.

Saying sorry and have a nice day to you all is simply not good enough. Angry customers tend to leave the game and a decreasing income will eventually **** this game we all love so much. Again I like to encourage S8 to make this right and COMMUNICATE about it on the forum or in a game message. Either turn the timer back to 4h or let people sell their Feanor back for 400 gems.

Was going to buy gems and buy a few of the feature items but came here first to read everyones advice. I started at the beginning of the sale discussion and was shocked as I read what happened. I am so sorry to all of you who bought Feanor. Absolutely unfair to release an item with an advertised 4 hr timer, get everyone excited, sell who knows how many of them, then change it. That is classic bait and switch, a really crummy sales scam. I do not want to believe they would do this on purpose. I hope they find a way to make this right for all of those who bought him in that window before he was changed to 24hr timer. I believe they will. Recently S8 asked us to be nice & patient as small team but these changes are beyond a joke now! We make mistakes
and HAVE to accept especially with gem traps ...So once in awhile would be nice if S8 did the same!

Alicorns are awesome. I have, over the past few years, collected over 50, some from the tent, mostly in real world cash.... which is why I have been so very disappointed in S8 over our gorgeously animated archer elf Feanor.

I tried finding a thread daily vs weekly I read awhile ago for you and couldn't find it. From what I remember, a daily Ali is worth about 90% of a weekly ali. It would be space vs gem considerations... spend 300 gems on a weekly Ali on sale (600 otherwise) or get 3 daily alis for 300 (or 2 and change, as some alis, many actually, can be 125 gems on sale). melany77 (I might be getting her name wrong) has posted a lot about numbers in the past so you may want to check out her post history to see what you can find.

S8 did the same thing with Bakery Story. They put the gem dispensers for sale. They were items that a lot of players have been asking to be brought back for years. So when players saw that they were on sale they bought 100’s of gems to buy as many of them as they could. They were only on sale for a few hours before they were removed. Everyone was going mental about it on the forum saying that they had missed out. I’d actually been “lucky” to buy 2 at that time, (l did buy 6 of them when they first went on sale a few years ago). S8 did nothing for a week, and then they decided to remove all of the gem dispensers that everyone had bought at that time. I noticed that I had a lot more gems than I had the night before and I was wondering why and then I noticed that my 2 new gem dispensers had been removed. And then a representative of S8 put a post on the forum to say that they were removed for the good of the game lol. You couldn’t make it up! People were absolutely furious.

Yeah everyone got the gems back but people had spent hundreds of pounds/dollars to buy these. I’m sure lots of Castle Story players will have done the same. Everyone shouldn’t just get the gems back. If you’d paid cash to buy the gems for this type of “mistake”, you should be able to get your cash back. It’s amazing to think of how many times “mistakes” like this has happened with S8. When you really think about it they must make an absolute fortune out of them. It makes you wonder if they are actually “mistakes”.

I think that they are now limited to 4, but not in the first two days. I actually bought 6 of them and I still could buy more. In the new setting I can not buy it anymore. Thank god I was out of gems otherwise I would even bought more. I was actually waiting for a 30% discount gems offer so that I could even buy some more. Cause they were too good to be true.

I can understand why you might feel this way, yet I agree with others that S8 is the only person in the wrong here. We rely on each other to let us know what drops and timers are once someone's made the purchase of a new item, and you were only community building by posting. I think the 4 hr timer truly was a mistake (and not some insane marketing ploy). So, I think the fault lies with S8 for not doing quality control before release, and making it SOOOOOO much worse when there was the chance to do the right thing. They rely on us to spread the word to each other, this time, they set us all up to fail.

I mean are you saying you didn’t know the effects on S8 economy of releasing a 4 hr timed energy source? This game has been our for how any years? To me that makes it sound intentional, like a ’ Let’s see what happens when we do this’ kind of thing. For those that have already purchased, you should meet us half way and put a 8 or 12 hour timer on it with the same drops.

Great that S8 will refund Feanor for those who purchased him. However it still makes no sense how it was a mistake and now an imbalance in the game economy which led them to fine tune him... that sounds like they changed him on purpose to me. This is not an interactive game other than when we have those competitions (forgot what it was called).
The game economy has always been imbalanced and will remain that way in my opinion. Some people have tons of gems to speed up and some people have tons of Alicorns with a lot of energy saved up (which by no means matters to me bc players should get what they pay, play, and save for). However in my opinion those things like players having extra energy should not be something that unbalances the game economy since it is not an interactive game. Players can and should be able to play however they like with what they earned or paid for. I think S8 unbalances the game economy when regular players (those who do not have tons of gems or energy saved) cannot finish an event bc the requirements are too much. I just recently started saving energy and it has definitely made finishing events A LOT easier. When I did not have energy saved up and being at level 50, some events were too difficult to finish. Also S8 should definitely start considering advertising event prizes and their drops more accurately...(I have never received any gold nuggets from my snow castle which was the advertised prize).

Ok, based on the communication I think I understand the following:
Feanor was released the way we planned it. We didn't made a mistake, but it didn't turned out the way we planned it.
Especially our customers bought a bunch of them and we are very much afraid that it would stop them from buying our event packages. We need the income to keep driving this game.
So we panicked and instead of slowly turning the timer back from 4h to lets say 8h and analyzing the impact of the new timer on the game we turned it back to 22h
We forgot to communicate, which and let us be honest about it, is not our strongest suit. We started to communicate when we noticed that the community was sharpen their pitchforks and lighten their torches.
We will provide unsatisfied customers with refund gems and erase their Feonors.

I truly hope that I completely misunderstood this...

S8 The best solution is not a gem refund, but a change of timers. I think that most players will like to keep their Feanor and can settle it for a 8 or 12 hour timer. In this way we will meet each other in the middle, but the solution offered right now is simple put very unsatisfactory for most players.

Any player in the game who has an issue has access to support and does not need to await an invitation from the community forum staff or a big sign to request service for their game.

You might be satisfied with your idea because it means that you personally wouldn't need to send in a support ticket. If we implemented this you wouldn't see how many players would be disrupted and harmed by this suggestion.

Automatically refunding the item would generate even more problems.

- Players who bought multiple may only want to refund a portion of the ones they have.
- Players who don't want a refund could miss the window to rebuy the item if they're away from the game during the sale.
- Players could falsely report their item as missing, creating requests that will cause delays for people waiting for help with things like account recovery.
- By waiting for a support response (which is closed on weekends) to be told to rebuy the item they didn't want us to remove, players would be missing collections they could be receiving if we let them make the decision for themselves.
- There is no way to target messaging specifically to a player who spent Gems on x item.

We consider very carefully all of our players before making these decisions. Please note that this isn't a one-size fits all solution that can be applied to any situation regardless of similarity. I agree. Initially bought two to go with my rainbow crowns and then bought more gems and 2 more after I saw the drops. When it reverted I still wanted my initially two but not the two extra. Submitting a ticket was the best way to explain it.

I will keep the ones i bought, it will be my very last purchase. I have already be*** putting a lot of my gameboard pieces into storage. You lost my business on buying energy packs with the pig fiasco, now you have lost what was the MAJORITY of my purchases, marketplace sales. I now have zero trust in spending money on this game. Elsa, S8 created this situation, your players (e.g. Customers) did not. You are not going to convince many of them to feel pity for additional workload you created for yourselves by a lack of due diligence on the front end. Should you really be admonishing them with a condescending tone? Surely you must expect a high level of frustration in reaction to this, especially, as many long-time players like myself will attest, this is hardly the first time S8 has made a mistake/decision like this "so as to protect the economies of the game". In a "real" world fighting a global pandemic, with our REAL global economy on the brink, I daresay S8 should consider how and where people will want to spend their diminishing resources in the future. In a time when most other companies are reaching out to their customer base with thoughts of support and assistance, THIS is a really BAD optic.
Finally, Where is the transparency? Where is the notification splashed up on my CS screen as soon as I open up the game "We made a mistake, We are sorry. If you purchased Feanor and would like a refund, here's how." Your customers do not ALL use the Forum. You cannot make the assumption they do.

I suspect the easiest, smartest way to have gone about this would have been to either just leave it alone or leave the time alone but simply change the drops. Make it random. Reduce the drops. No one would have really been the wiser because "random" seems to be a consistent aspect of with this game. Players have come to expect a certain randomness to the game. To have spent so much time researching and discussing and coming up with this controversial decision...well...doesn't make smart business sense to me.

It is extremely difficult to always accurately convey the desired emotion/effect when dealing with multiple cultures, whether written format or in person. I like to assume people are coming from a positive place, unless it is made very clear the intent is otherwise. Speaking from the other side of the fence (code writing/support) it was difficult to always be patient when people did things to try our patience such as constantly asked questions about information already posted, while new bosses asked new things of us, during flu season when people weren't coming in, or came in but their work quality suffered. Every business has its problems, issues, and "oopsies". I DO like it when people post their point of view; how else would S8 know what we want, and what upsets us? There's enough snarkiness coming from the Forum users that if/when a potentially negative comment comes from the S8 side, it's understandable & forgivable. IMO anyway :p I know I am fairly vocal, I most likely push the envelope, but I don't try to be mean, and I like to think I do the same to others. Elsa, S8 created this situation, your players (e.g. Customers) did not. You are not going to convince many of them to feel pity for additional workload you created for yourselves by a lack of due diligence on the front end. Should you really be admonishing them with a condescending tone? Surely you must expect a high level of frustration in reaction to this, especially, as many long-time players like myself will attest, this is hardly the first time S8 has made a mistake/decision like this "so as to protect the economies of the game". In a "real" world fighting a global pandemic, with our REAL global economy on the brink, I daresay S8 should consider how and where people will want to spend their diminishing resources in the future. In a time when most other companies are reaching out to their customer base with thoughts of support and assistance, THIS is a really BAD optic.
Finally, Where is the transparency? Where is the notification splashed up on my CS screen as soon as I open up the game "We made a mistake, We are sorry. If you purchased Feanor and would like a refund, here's how." Your customers do not ALL use the Forum. You cannot make the assumption they do.

I am a long-time player and couldn't agree more, especially re: 'quarantine' becoming so prevalent...which will probably help online game companies, but I will be spending my money on other apps, not S8.

It is extremely difficult to always accurately convey the desired emotion/effect when dealing with multiple cultures, whether written format or in person. I like to assume people are coming from a positive place, unless it is made very clear the intent is otherwise. Speaking from the other side of the fence (code writing/support) it was difficult to always be patient when people did things to try our patience such as constantly asked questions about information already posted, while new bosses asked new things of us, during flu season when people weren't coming in, or came in but their work quality suffered. Every business has its problems, issues, and "oopsies". I DO like it when people post their point of view; how else would S8 know what we want, and what upsets us? There's enough snarkiness coming from the Forum users that if/when a potentially negative comment comes from the S8 side, it's understandable & forgivable. IMO anyway :p I know I am fairly vocal, I most likely push the envelope, but I don't try to be mean, and I like to think I do the same to others. I truly wish it was an energy dropper, but it is just a modified sheep with a 8h timer. Pretty useless if you ask me, but who knows if it drops energy after all (dont count on it :-). Will know in 8h and write it down as an Edit. What I really don?t like from these sales is that S8 doesnt mention the description or the drops. In this way it is just gambling if you get something good.

The Feanor fiasco really initiated a whole lot of warm feelings and opinions from a lot of customers. Customers who keeps this game alive for the ones who doesnt pay for it. I agree what has been written so far and yes maybe some of the writings (including me) could have been in a more polite fashion, but most of us are not masters of the pen. I have played a lot of games over the years and consider myself as a true veteran.what I noticed over the years is that even block buster apps lack good communication. It looks that communication from a cost perspective view is for most app companies a least concern. At the moment a company started to invest in communication the whole vibe changed in communities like this. I like to encourage S8 to communicate more on this forum, what do you guys like, what are you working on, what are the future plans for this game etc. I run a company myself and on a daily basis customers try to hit on you, so S8 employee’s welcome to the real world. Dont defend yourself, but look for the most creative solution the get your customer satisfied. I do the same for 7 days a week, day and night. In my opinion the solution S8 came up with is most prob the worst one. If the timer was put back from 4h to lets say 8 or a bit more the response of your customers would have been much milder. I am keeping my Feanor cause I love the artwork and I still want to support this game. Do I feel happy as a customer: no. Keep up the good work S8 and continuing to deliver us the game experience we love so much, but improve your communication.

My intention is only to provide insight to help people understand that we considered as many angles as possible before coming to our decision. I understand how poking holes in some suggestions earns me some ire, but I was hoping responding with why we can't do certain things would help them understand why we're not just doing those things. I do not track my items so I can’t be sure how frequently they drop. What I can say is that they are great for increasing your coins. I get at least 1 drop of 10,000 coins from each of mine once a week.

Utter LOL! Maybe an apple dribbling w honey that drops sugar, apples and apple pie? : D With a REALLY long timer!?! (The cultural in joke for people who may not know is that the prayers over a Pesach dinner, a Seder, can go on and on and on, and being faint w hunger before allowed to eat even ritual small bites is very common). : D

The person who was in first place in my group - I visited her board and the alicorn collection was more of a horde. : J She had every LB prize in memory out on display. Similar for second place. I didn't even try. : D I also wish we had an expansion discount and old animals, looking forward to next event but w a jaundiced eye.

As for thread content, I got some walls, a gate, and used confetti path from storage as a near path match.

Sweetheart tooth ali at vday, skeleton ali at Halloween, and flower power on July 4th. Those are the most recent Ali sales-no variety or anything.
