The new meat cleaver goal is to help the many players who have been stuck for 2-3 events not being able to **** off fangbeasts and now blue dire boars. It was easier to award everyone with the meat cleaver than to identify all of the individual players who should have received that goal way back when they built their kitchen and castle back around level 12ish. For the majority of us, the cleaver just moved from the last page of our inventory to the first!

If anyone who was previously stuck is still stuck, force close your game to get the Leave It To Cleaver goal to activate to collect the meat cleaver.

Monster Hunt Information

* Check you can spawn monsters!
* Pink Skunkupines don't drop tokens when you defeat them. They might spawn from pink and wedding alicorns.
* Gem horses may not spawn glimmer trolls.
* Trolls may be included but they change from being included season to season. This season they DO count.
* Monsters also drop their normal items in addition to the tokens.
* Do the Bronze Hunter Trade if you are nearly maxed on Shield tokens so that they don't go to waste.
* A Level 5 Jousting Arena will spawn a monster on every collection. Link to Jousting Arena Renovations (https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?83751-Castle-Story-08-06-Update-Jousting-Arena-Renovations-(levels-4-amp-5)) thread.
* The Mythic Research Center (from L22) crafts are available to craft anytime if you have the tokens.
* if it's your first Monster Hunt, the new trades will appear after you do 1 of any trade in the Trade Wagon (if applicable).
* Remember to collect from Princess Lorelei's fountain for a chance at gold tokens (about a 1 in 3 drop rate)

* BLUE DIRE BOARS will only spawn once a day.

Leaderboard Shop

Leaderboard Point Goals
Goal numbers will differ for lower, mid and high level games.

* Mystery Chests possible drops (if similar to previous Leaderboards): golden nuggets, tokens, rotten cabbages, coins, energy, troll tokens, points, golden eggs
* Note: you do not get an actual chest; what you do get is a variety of items that will go to either your inventory (if they're a resource) or if you get points, will go straight to your point total shown on the Leaderboard screen.

The same applies to the Prize Chests for Ranks 1-3 at the conclusion of the challenge.

* Hiss in Boots will spawn from cows and pigs. Royal animals have a guaranteed spawn rate.

Yes.. if you use the 10 gem boost it will double.. take notice of the amounts given in shileds vs how many tokens it takes

So glad I saved up energy!!!!!! Should be almost 2K tonight when I collect again! Lots of hunting for me. Have to see if there is anything new to buy or just the kitties to trade to shield and whether it’s worth it or not. Question now is what to buy. In my kingdom, the monster hunt started before the leaderboard appeared. I was so happy the event was going to be a nice little monster hunt where I didn’t have to compete with anyone. When I opened CS again, I saw the leaderboard. Of course, none of my actions from before the leaderboard appeared were credited. I hate the leaderboards.

Well, you can fight them - if you are mostly doing this event for leaderboard only - then hit the kitties and craft required items in Magic forge and give them - you get 15, 30 or 45 points- depending on the item. But you will mostly miss out on the chance to get regular monster hunt tokens and gold tokens.

You don't " get" mystery chests in the inventory. Each time you reach " mystery chest" it automatically opens and shows you on screen what you got.

Kit in boots is not the same as the kitty knight that you make in the Mythic Research Center. You get the Kit in boots when you get 2300 points in the leaderboard.

Well I was saving gold tokens for my first armored direwolf. So how much energy does it usually drop? Or should I just go for the kitty knight? Opinions please. Thankskitty knight stays in MRC. It's still very early in the hunt. I'm going to build up my gold tokens and then decide.
To answer your question, 20 energy per week is the usual drop, but sometimes I get lucky and get the 40 energy. I'm thinking about going for my 4th one. Can't have too many energy sources imo.
And expansion supplies to me means I usually get earth wisps. I'm always maxed on those.

Adding: I will only go for my 4th direwolf 1. Because I have the other energy droppers such as portals and unicorns and 2. Because I like to complete a set.

Ouch! I'm not participating in the Snowball event, but for those who are this is terrible.
Sorry you have to wait 6 hours Melany77. Hopefully your post helps other players not to walk into the same trap/ reminds them to time the Snowball craft carefully.

Edit add - sorry, thought I had responded to earlier comment. Anywho, with a 5 hour timer, you can collect at least 3 times a day. Fully upgraded, -
3 collections x 8 energy (that's 24) less 3 energy for collection is 21 energy gain per day.

You essentially get a direwolf's worth PER DAY, and keep in mind a fully upgraded portal is 170 gold coins total (2 direwolves worth, still way worth it)

For the basic portal, when you get 4 energy per collection, over 5 days, 3 collections a day -
15. Collections x 4 energy is 60, less the 15 per collection, 45 energy net gain guaranteed....

...Versus the probable 20 from a direwolf every 5 days. Some people have very very productive direwolves, very diff stats from what mine gives. But you have to be quite lucky.

A bit of my opinion/assessment on the kitty tokens in terms of strategy in case it is useful to anyone.

They seem fairly pointless, actually. I think I am better off going for monsters rather than for the leaderboard points if you aren't overly into leader boards (which I am not) and into gold coins (which I am).

Horses come full grown, so if you buy a bunch of them all you have to do is wait and you have a guaranteed Spawn.

I join the others who do not wish to compete with our lovely community members. I wish they were away for everybody to get the big prize irrespective of their level. I REALLY don't like competing in this community even when/if I stand a good chance of winning.

I've gone thru my chicken yard 3 times & no fangbeast spawn. I've gone thru my mushroom patch many times & no boar spawn. Just remember during monster hunts those 2 monsters have totally disappeared from the landscape (at least in my Queendom & quite a few others I've read about).

Oops. Don’t make my mistake. Trading rotten cabbages into snowballs at the trading hut takes several hours. If you have that trade processing, you can’t do the token trades to decrease maxed out shield tokens.

Yes, They have a guaranteed daily (24 hours) Energy drop of 4+ Energy I think, but mostly between 5 and 8 Energy each and in rare cases much more.
They also drop Spellbound Dew and Tokens (Shield, Sword, Staff and Troll Tokens). They're really awesome!

The Armored Alicorn is a daily Energy dropper too (22 hours), and is cheaper (15 Golden Troll Tokens), but I think the addition of the Spellbound Dew and Tokens (every day, not just during Monster Hunts) make the Unicorns well worth the 25 Golden Troll Tokens.

There are more Energy droppers in the Mythic Research Center!

I am level 15 and chopped a dead tree for the event and got the blue boar but I don?t have the weapon to **** it and now I?m stuck with it on my board until I progress in the story far enough to **** boars. Any ideas?

The Troll Sparring Pit is part of a Main Story Line, so you will get it eventually! :)

I think it depends on how much energy you have; if you have a lot of horses you can battle nothing but Glimmer Golems and do the Bronze or Silver trades until you can do a Gold trade. I did Lorelei Fountain first, then the Mythic Research Center. It took me a few years to get the MRC but I did other things during Monster Hunts so not all my energy went to Monsters.

If I am on another quest, I find that fangbeasts are prolific. When I am searching for fangbeasts, they are very rare. I have only had one from a stable after trying every possible suggestion in The Hub and forum. I am going to forget about it and stick with the dire boar and golem as I usually do.

Do you have a kitchen yet? You need to make the meat cleaver in the kitchen(I had that goal when I bought the kitchen at level 11) it is initially asked to fight fangbeasts.

I have kitchens but there is no meat cleaver to craft there. I think the craft is triggered by getting a fang beast. Since I never had the fang beast I never got the craft to make the cleaver. And now that the dire boar is there, a fang beast will never spawn.

Kit in boots is not the same as the kitty knight that you make in the Mythic Research Center. You get the Kit in boots when you get 2300 points in the leaderboard.

Yes this pop up sums up the points earned since it last popped up. It's too slow. I ignore it and the left strike button and watch the points tally in the upper right.

These are the players that have herds of alicorns and have thousands of energy built up. They can then use the boost and double their points and spawn lots of golems in a few hours time.
I agree with you. Most players don't stand a chance. Unless they spend real money. I hope they don't. It will end up costing a lot.

I wish that S8 would group players using the max total energy per day of the buildings/animals. That way we would be at least starting on an even playing field. Surely this would be better for S8 too as players might be more willing to purchase a value pack if it meant they might actually have a chance of getting the prizes. Personally I would find the leaderboards more exciting if there was actual competition with changing rankings between players. Instead a few players get way in front early and stay that way the whole event.

I feel like a nosy person when I visit the other players in my group and I count their alicorns.
But.... it does help me know what I'm up against now and also in the last days of the hunt. That's when things can change really fast. And then Bam! You're way behind!
Also to be fair, a lot of the high energy players are probably mainly going for as many gold tokens as they can.
I can't fault them for that.

You only get Golden Troll Tokens from Princess Lorelei's Fountain (rare, only during Monster Hunts), Unicorns (very rare, also outside of Monster Hunts) and The Beastbane Display (can be bought with Gems, also outside of Monster Hunts).
The Troll Camp also has a chance to drop them (also outside of Monster Hunts), but that's a very very very very rare drop.

Fighting Golems and making them yourself is an excellent strategy!

Maybe it's good to realize it's only about 1 Prize. 1 Energy Dropper (daily/ weekly/ something else..., we don't know) But it's just about 1 cat.

You might be better of (and have much more fun) just not competing, going for as much Golden Troll Tokens as you can and save your Gems/ Money for other (fun) things.
In my opinion Hiss in Boots is not the 'Final Prize'. It's just a little bonus for the players who spent a lot of Energy/ Gems/ Money and/or get swept along in the competitive aspect.

I don't compete because I'm against making this a competitive game, but I'm still having a great time!

I really wanted a second wizard portal and to upgrade it. I don't give a hoot about the LB prize, and even being in first place is deeply unsatisfying to me for the reason stated by many -- because not everyone has a proper chance to have one, esp when I am not trying for it, just getting on w gold token production, which I do enjoy. I do this game because I do not want to compete in my recreation. Much prefer group efforts or just getting on with things on my own.

Competing teams means some - many - teams would be saddled w members who don't contribute much.

I've given up competing in these unfair leaderboards because they finish at 2 or 3am (depending on "daylight saving"). Right now it's a 2am finish and oddly enough, I won't be awake. There is always a last minute "tactical points boost" from many players that means if you aren't awake when the competition finishes, you need to be way way ahead of anyone to be sure of a win. Overnight I dropped from 4th to 6th and it's not even the last flurry of point scoring.

Still, no one cares so I'm not expecting them to vary the end times any time soon. It doesn't matter with ordinary events but it does in the leaderboards.

I'm not even sure there's anything left I want to spend my gold tokens on 😂 I have all the unicorns etc. Maybe the maxotaur but I never seem to be short on feasts anyway.

Agree & well said! I sure didn't mean to sound all Negative-Nancy:p sittin here bashing those who are able to gain a lot of points quickly. I just wish S8 would try and match the groups a bit more evenly so that some other players (maybe new or lower level) could at least have a chance to "win" or actually be a part of the competition.

There are a few ways to get Alicorns. For normal weekly Alicorns you need to have the Love Shack. This was something you needed to build in an event years ago. You can get Sacred Wing and Sacred Horn doing adventures in the Kings/Queens Keep. The Horn and Wing can be converted into an Alicorn in the Love Shack. I now have 70 Alicorns, but it took me years of playing. One time I got an Alicorn from watching a video, but that is VERY rare (I watch those videos every day because of the gems reward). Then you have Royal Dark Unicorn, Sweetheart Unicorn, Destrier, Rouncey, Portia Bella, all weekly energy droppers from past events.

I think it's impossible to get weekly energy droppers if you don't have the Love Shack. I guess it's S8's way to reward long time players.

Daily energy droppers are available for gem purchase on a regular basis. Last week I bought Demetria. But if you manage to get some gold runes, you can buy a Rainbow Alicorn in the Rune Market. To be able to do this, you have to expand to the Elven Outpost. If you have a Mythic Research Center, you can summon 4 Armored Direwolfs, these will drop 20 or 40 energy once every 5 days or so, or Unicorns.

I feel the same way as a lot of you do. Every monster lb I get excited and want to kick a s s but I stand no chance unless I want to spend at least $20 to just keep up with other players. I?ve got 525 kitty tokens but I don?t know if I have enough supplies and time to convert them all. Even if I did, I?m sure the players with millions of alicorns will wipe me out at the last minute. So, that makes me bummed... However, Ronja is right. It?s one kitty. It?s one energy source. Daily Ali?s sometimes go on sale for 100 gems and that?s a heck of a lot cheaper than what I?d need to spend on this hunt.

Oh, and I managed to craft 36 gold tokens so far, so that?s pretty awesome. I?m going for my first cabbage hut.

Somehow I landed in a fairly reasonable competition; started in 2nd place with a few hundred energies saved from the last days of the last event once I stopped trying. Someone came out of the blue and shot to 1st, but they don?t have an untoward number of alicorns so I think they must have used them up to take 1st.

I have almost 30 guaranteed daily energy droppers built up over several years. So I?m currently just trying to stay close in 3rd place. Sometime in the last few hours, I will assess my competitors. Then if it looks reasonable, I will make one of those despised runs with my 11 weekly energies, and my 11 saved energy crates of various denominations, and ten of the gems I keep getting from crafting gold tokens.

To be honest, I don?t care what the cats give. The cats themselves are the prize! Meow!

I soooo agree! Just once, it would be nice to NOT be on a leaderboard with 10 other players who ridiculously out number my energy sources. You might try for the unicorns in the MRC. They drop a few energy, along with tokens & spellbound dew. Sadly the max is 4. Good luck!

Horses always spawn a glitter golem. If not, then you must have another monster somewhere

The Blue Direwolf only spawns from Dead Trees once a day when you have the corresponding 'Daily Hunt Challenge' Goal in you Goalbook.
Like jkc619 says, the Golem is a guaranteed spawn from horses. You can fight as many as you like.

Nothing can spawn if you have a Monster in your Kingdom already. You can know quickly if that's the case if you turn on your music.
If the music is not relaxing, there is a monster somewhere. Good luck!

I would recommend going for Princess Lorelei's Fountain first. When you tap it during Monster Hunt's you have a chance of getting a Golden Troll Token.
Then the Mythic Research Center.
You do need Golden Troll Tokens for everything there, but it's such a great thing to be able to craft Energy droppers like Unicorns, Golden Nugget droppers like Golden Peacocks and so many more!
And some are cheap, like the Glimmer Manticore that only costs 1 Golden Troll Token (+ some other things).
But the Cabbage Hut is an excellent choice too.. There is no wrong choice here, just fun cool things to spent your Golden Troll Tokens on :)

Okay, in the first few HOURS of this event starting, the player in my group at #1 position had FIVE THOUSAND points. As of now, player #1 has 18,000 points and player #2 has 8,000. Goodness knows how much REAL money they are spending, BUT who stands a chance against those numbers? Even if you played several times a day AND bought a few $4.99 deals w/15 minutes of unlimited energy you couldn't catch up:( I just don't understand how certain people rack up that amount of points so quickly:confused: I gotta say that what bothers me the most is that with this kind of scenario, the rest of the players in the group know immediately that it'll be nearly impossible to ever win first or second place and get the ultimate prize.m

Also seems I am maxed on everything worth getting. I can afford the armors kitty which does not have good reviews but is adorable.

I can afford a second cabbage hut which 4 months ago I would have said is a great investment but hardly use now as I can’t remember last ali drop or useful drop I didn’t have already. But still never know when it may come in use again

Suggestions on the 3? All animals just drop random items or the kit for golden apples but with two golden mines I’m already maxed up. Maxed on all expansion and energy animals except for new Kitty knight which is supposed to drop expansion items hence my wanting to also get him hoping drops will improve despite cuteness lol

Wasn't those flygers and dire wolves supposed to be just wonderful permit droppers. Well they were, til the rates were changed to be nearly non- existent. I'm still a little miffed about that! Can you tell?

I have yet to ever buy anything with troll tokens, I?ve never had enough :( I?m trying like crazy. What do you guys recommend? I don?t have a cabbage hut. Should I save up for that or the research center? I have never had energy sources, I?m the most unsuccessful level 45 player ever.haha. I would say go for the Mythic Research Centre first. Once you have that, you can craft daily energy dropping alicorns, unicorns as well as other creatures, some of which will drop energy and/or other resources. You get a limited number of them, yes, but they are worth having.

Lorelei's fountain is good as well, but it is not a guaranteed gold token dropper by any means. The unicorns do drop other tokens. A cabbage hut is also useful since you can win energy droppers and other resources every now and then. Then there are the wizard portals which also drop energy.

Yay! Finally got a gold token from Lorelei’s fountain and then got enough gold runes to get the rainbow alicorn!!! Getting close to 99 gold troll tokens any suggestions as to what to get. The fake tap out can at times backfire. There were a couple of incidents where the galloping horse “loading...” screen appears 1 to 2 minutes after a fake tap out, wasting 30 or more seconds of precious “unlimited” time, and to add insult to injury, reset some of the things already done. For example, you rapidly tap 8 trees to have them chopped, execute a fake tap out to instantly collect your stuff, go on to do other things, and a minute later the galloping horse appears. And after it goes away, you discover that 1/2 your chopped trees have miraculously re-sprouted and your inventory reduced.

Interesting..I’ll have to try that. I’m on a brand new iPad and I do very little else with it so I don’t think anything is slowing it down. I’ll try pulling down the menu though, and see if that makes it faster. I’d hate to have a reset though.

grand rooted Lilium is working for me! I have been focusing on spawning fauns and wisps this hunt, and get plenty of fangbeasts from them too.

...Someone came out of the blue and shot to 1st, but they don?t have an untoward number of alicorns so I think they must have used them up to take 1st... To be honest, I don?t care what the cats give. The cats themselves are the prize! Meow!

I?m very much like this player. Had a lot of accumulated energy so easily shot up to first place initially. I don?t have herds of alicorns (I have dailies mainly) so the rest on my LB (a number of whom have those herds) are slowly catching up, and likely to leave me behind eventually - and I?m okay with that. Watching with amusement as guys on my board keep checking my kingdom out to count my alis as they certainly don?t add up.

Yes, we generally dislike LBs. But have to say as a perpetual 3rd place finisher that it?s such a raw deal: 15 trade tickets (which I can earn in a day) and a bronze trophy/banner. 4th-6th place is better as you at least get energy. Glad to see this time there is at least a prize chest to console you from missing Hiss in boots.

Edit: scratch that! Prize chest has 25K. Third place prize is still bogus.

I've collected 3 so far. Not a lot but still a welcome item to get!

With less than two days to go on the clock, I've come to my senses (a little late perhaps) to break off from the mad competition on my LB and just focus on collecting Troll Tokens instead. It's those horribly cute eyes that are to blame :blue:

I don't want the trophies, just the Hiss in Boots. I'm pretty sure it'll make a comeback in a later Monster Hunt as one of the pets you get to craft for a limited time :tickled_pink:

The fortune teller tent doesn't give a quest every time, I think it's every 3-4 clicks. So you have to wait a bit for your first quest and again after you complete one of the quests.

I got the kit in boots in both my kingdoms, now only playing for gold troll coins. I don't care much for the leaderboard, though in my groups nothing excessive is gong on. No. 1 in my first kingdom has a reasonable 6000- points.

So good news updates: despite my dislike for leaderboards looks like I am in a group that just does not care (hoping players are not holding out until last minute but if so I?m still covered. Currently sitting in first with 700pts between me and second. Every night before bed make swords, then next night buy beast maker boost for 10 gems and get my 180 plus dire bore and then horses while making hats for the hour. I still at the end have 800-900 energy to spare which is why I?m not worried if a player comes up because I have the energy to keep going as well last few hours. As long as I?m first or second, at this point I invested time and energy.

Also seems I am maxed on everything worth getting. I can afford the armors kitty which does not have good reviews but is adorable.

I can afford a second cabbage hut which 4 months ago I would have said is a great investment but hardly use now as I can?t remember last ali drop or useful drop I didn?t have already. But still never know when it may come in use again

Or I can hold on use my Unicorns and my Beastbane for the gold droppings and save up for Wizards Portal. Still time, 4 coins to go so I?ll make it during hunt but from my understanding it takes gold to upgrade it

Suggestions on the 3? All animals just drop random items or the kit for golden apples but with two golden mines I?m already maxed up. Maxed on all expansion and energy animals except for new Kitty knight which is supposed to drop expansion items hence my wanting to also get him hoping drops will improve despite cuteness lol

If I were you I would probably go for the Wizard Portal and upgrade 1; then the Kitty Knight/s; then the cabbage hut. It really a matter of personal choice though where you put the cabbage hut on the list - if you have 1 already and/or you're happy with how you play the Baron's Tent then keep it at third. In time you'll have them all anyway. Just a matter of making a choice and then to keep plugging away. Let us know what you end up doing as it's always good for other players just starting out to see what options they have and what they can learn from choices already made. :)

JanDolphin, I'm still undecided on my choice too. I too already have the Uni's and Lions ..etc. So I'm just gathering gold tokens and will make my final decision after the hunt. Beastbane statue was a good investment.
But I really am happy with my 2 fully upgraded Wizard Portals, but I have 2 Cabbage huts. I'm kinda a collector so I have a huge stash of cabbages. Because of that I was able to trade a lot for snowballs and got that grand prize.
I'm leaning towards my last Armoured Direwolf. And check that off the list.

Why cats and dogs all of a sudden? Just a thought that I had.

Just read through a bunch of pages:
- I get gold tokens from troll camp now and again, and collect 3 times a day except on start of event days in case it is needed for event.
- note that wizard portals waaaay better investment than armoured direwolves.
- what SW said about priorities - you can't make a wrong decision amongst the ones listed
- I have loads of flygers and armoured flygers - the drop rate for expansion tickets is rare, it they do drop. Presume our new kitty similar, about once every 1-3 months.

My goal for this event was to get a second WP and upgrade it as much as poss whilst retaining an energy reserve. I'm done, w second WP built and upgraded to L4. I have repetitive strain injury on my index finger and have mastered double screening (kindle and iPad) w peripheral vision on high alert for when the golems go down and I need to tap another horse. I am very happy.

I will eventually get the kitties from the MRC but beginning to be mindful of a zoo effect on my board.

I did an experiment and bought loads if iliums and compared to energy per gold coin (all on, incl. bronze trades) w horsies/Golems. Bottom lines for my results:
- golems/horses - 70.4 energy all in (3 and a bit golems per coin), wastage on staff coins.
- iliums - 73 energy per gold coin (but I contaminated the experiment w 5 horses because I was maxing on sword coins and I emotionally broke down at the waste). : )

I got tons of wisps from it with an unusually good run, but it took a lot more focus and I couldn't read and do the iliums. : ) There isn't much difference per coin so I guess it depends on priorities.

I used to do cloudberry bushes too but am maxed on the blue cloudberries and it is waaaaaay easier to multiply tap a root than rummage through the bushes, plus there isn't a wait to recharge to bushes. And it takes up less room. But if you need cloudberries, it's a fab strategy.

Like SW said, like many players say, loads of possibilities, see what works for you, loads of great choices.

Except the armoured direwolf before the WP energy wise, IF energy yield is the priority. ; )

Like other players say, there is no wrong or right, just priorities and/or preferences.
If I were you and had to choose between the 3 I would go for the Wizard Portal, than Cabbage Hut (if you had none, I would go for that one first) and lastly the cute Kitty Knight.

I'm very happy with my progress. I've made my 4th Unicorn (already had 3), 1 Armored Alicorn, and can make another Armored Alicorn today.
More energy for next Monster Hunt!

I am indeed very pleased! Currently well behind #1 (3200 points) but 900 ahead of #3 with all my weeklies, dailies, and a couple of swords/boots ready. And a free day (once I work out fourth quarter estimated taxes)! No one has made a run,,,,yet. But now I want to save as much energy as possible for MORE CATS!

Someone (I think Ronja) said earlier that this is good times in CS, and I must agree. I have enjoyed playing this MH week in all my 4 kingdoms. My goals have been:
-For my main level 50 kingdom, either an armored wolf or a WP. Will decide when I get 85 coins - 7 to go so crossing my fingers I make it.
-For my L28 kingdom, the MRC plus an armored Ali - 3 coins to go.
-For my L24 kingdom, the MRC - 8 coins to go.
-For my last kingdom, made it to L15 yesterday so started the hunt then. Can?t fight golems as horses locked until L17, so will be happy to get 1st/2nd place (with like 90 points :D ) so I can get my first energy animal.

So it will be a busy few hours until bedtime.

I didn't say before, because I didn't want to jinx anything, but until this morning I was solidly #1 in the LB. All of a sudden someone made a run and I'm currently #2. The player who was #2 the whole week is now #3. I do hope that player is in the same time zone as I and nobody else is planning a surprise. We'll see tomorrow, because I'll hopefully be asleep when the hunt ends.

Other than that I'm very happy with the monsterhunt. I got a lot of gold troll coins and the maxotaur in kingdom 2 (had it a since last monsterhunt in kingdom 1). The maxotaur seems to be the most useful creature in the mythic research center, apart from the energy droppers. So now I'm saving gems for the barracks. :D

I think it has to do with if it rapid counted there might be a chance some do not get recorded in database.. similar to if every toilet in New York was flushed at the same time what could possibly happen. Or just a simple ole gaming Cool-Down. If anyone played EverQuest or games like that. there was always a cool-down of varied amounts before you could cast another spell.

Yep, it took me two minutes as well between deliveries.
Thought it was just my device causing the slowness, so switched to a different one.
Went from an ipad mini 2, to an ipad air 2 to an ipad pro and the time was two minutes on each device.

I guessed it was deliberate as it was exactly 2 minutes. There are going to be some annoyed people in the last hour if they've not noticed before then!

Agree & well said! I sure didn't mean to sound all Negative-Nancy:p sittin here bashing those who are able to gain a lot of points quickly. I just wish S8 would try and match the groups a bit more evenly so that some other players (maybe new or lower level) could at least have a chance to "win" or actually be a part of the competition.
Personally I don't care much for competing, it's ALL about the monster hunt & those pretty, shiny golden tokens:love-struck:..I got stuff to create!

I think they match a little. I?m level 15 and was put in with similar players. Despite being stuck for 3 days because I had no meat cleaver to fight a dire boar, I am still finishing second in my group. The high player in our group has a little over 400 points.

Whew, someone came up to 3rd close to me, so I did a run with the boost and put on about 1400 points. Probably scared #1! But I am safely in 2nd and still have a few weeklies and several crates left. First event I’ve enjoyed in a while. I think I’ve gotten the prize maybe only twice before on leaderboards so yay! Or purrrr.

I agree with you I know for a fact earlier in the event the deliveries loaded much faster. I have about 23 Swords left over due to the deliveries taking longer to load. IMAO I believe it is deliberate in an effort to force players to spend Gems or real money.

I started turning things in eight hours before the event ended and it was varying from about 40 seconds to maybe as long as 5 minutes at that time. It would make more sense and seem more fair to have it be a standardized time for everyone or with a countdown timer.
