65 tools to get 30 skates? It doesn't sound so bad...until one realizes that the skates drop two at a time, so it's really sort of like 65 tools to get 15 drops.

Very, very painful.

And of course, each tool finds at least 1 item in the mine. Sometimes it's coins, which helps because it does not fill up the inventory, but more often than not it is ore of some sort (I ended up with 59 Silver and 40 Iron, from a starting point of 14 Silver and 18 Iron). I debated "throwing" the Mine by getting one item and then deliberately aiming for "Too Far!" results, but that would have been wasting the Mining Tools.

Very, very painful.

And then to require 10 pucks but only using 1 for the Hockey Gear? The Newspaper is going to be filled (already is) with extra Piper's Hockey Pucks.

Very, very painful.

I may end up only doing the bare minimum for this event, just because it is taking a major toll on my Mining Tool stockpile and my Barn space...not to mention having to send out the deliveries I was hoping to save until the day turns.

i remember there was an event early last year that had the same error as well.....it was requiring like 10 popsicle sticks from the MINE when it was supposed to be 10 fruits from the PLOTS.... they fixed it after like a day.....

so, maybe i?d suggest holding off on making the crafts until the recipe is fixed!

p.s. i haven?t checked this yet, but i remember that same event also had an error in the number of drops required from apple tree-passion bush-pigs that were eventually fixed as well.....happy NY everyone~

update: yup, looked up Aug 2018 event for the penguins are back. there is an error in the current event recipe for passion-pigs drops as well. supposed to be for 3 drops from pigs, not 3 drops from passion vines. I’m definitely holding off on crafts until everything’s fixed

Well, what's done is done, and I received all the skates I needed (so far). At the very least, I also managed to pick up 11 Gold and 6 Rubies, so that is at least a slight silver lining.

I had OVER 300 PICKAXES and Shovels so I also got first part done.
All those planes for last month did pay off for Shovels and PICKAXES

And do you think there’s a mistake, shouldn’t we have to get 230 pucks from harvesting? With no drops from the feed mill all day, this event is undoable for me if we actually have to get 230 skates instead of the pucks.

Glad the recipes were changed, makes the goals much more attainable. I had to make 3 of Piper's gear in goal 2, using 30 of Piper's skates! Is there any way to get back the 27 extra skates I used?

No, not really...except that it does help motivate you to finish another Jed Cup by finding and collecting all the required components.

Sigh. 42 turn-ins, and I have everything except the Goalie Moose. I knew I used up all my luck earlier with the leaderboard and all the pets I received from the gifts. Oh well. I have maybe enough supplies and time to do two, maybe 3 more...but I doubt the moose will show up.

I’m with you PookieBear50 and Lilliepaddd. I’ve turned in about 40 Jed cups and no Goalie Moose, cottage or tractor. Sigh. I’ve given up and put all my excess up for sale. Hopefully they may be of some use to someone. I prefer the events where I can work towards a goal and know if I put in the effort I will receive the reward. Just my opinion.

I supposed to win the winter carriage (after multiple winter trees) and then it disappeared, but I did remember it was 2 minutes left and -poof- that winter carriage I adore was gone from my cellar..... I have no more space to display the winter trees..... I guess the winter tree is the grand prize?

Was only able to turn in 30 collections and missed out on the moose and tractor. Like so many others I have a number of trucks, carriages and cottages. Would like to see less collection events this year with their random drops.

It was a pita to have so many event items tkaing up all the newspaper slots, but waaaaaaay worth it for the cash in the end. Tt was an incredible windfall, and the bits bought them up quickly. From green lucks alone, probably more than 300 total, that's more than $50k.
