Random 5 second ads

I've been getting these random 5 second ads while playing and it is EXTREMELY annoying. I'm about to tap on something then the ad pops up and it's frustrating. Is this a permanent thing? If it is, this might finally be the last little push to get me quitting this game.

Those animated videos that pop up about playing other S8 games? At least I like the one with the bison charging at the screen, but something really should be done about these ads that pop up completely randomly. It used to be that ads popped up every single time you entered the game, which is annoying enough, but the fact that they now pop up once you are already in and actively playing, it is even worse. Often I am just clicking to hatch a dragon or remove a dragon from the evolution den or to collect from collecting a bingo task, and the popup comes and gets in the way, and if you click on it by accident because you were about to click on something else before it popped up, then you get taken to the stupid app store or something.

I went on Dragon Story just now and the ad popped up again. About a whole minute after I went on, I was clicking on my nests when I got the 5 second ad about some shooting game and I almost clicked on it. This is not cool :(

YEP, extremely annoying. I was quietly playing my game during a seminar yesterday then a screaming ad came blaring through my phone even though I had ringer turned OFF. Everyone turned to look at me. How incredibly mad I was, my face turned red with anger. I am infuriated at the game officials for starting this, STOP these ads, they are nothing but irritating.

I’ve been waiting for other forum users to start a thread. I’ve been getting them for about a month now and they are obviously rolling it out further. Believe me they just jump in at any time or place. You’re lucky if it’s a 5 second one. I’m regularly getting a 40 second one that jumps you straight to the ap store to download it, and another that comes in portrait rather than landscape and when you press the x in the corner it squashes the whole dragon screen to just the left half of my iPad. Have to close and re- open.
Interested to see other people’s opinions.

dont get me started on roll backs ive lost a few dragon rewards cause of that and cause its showing as not complete when i know for a fact it was NO reward :/ dont even start me on the gem confimation button or the right side of the mine thats closed perminatly , its like HEY i payed for a dragon to mine that side that i can no longer use at the min :/

We all understand how advertising works. This is not a complaint about ads in general. This is a complaint about the fact that the ads now pop up **continuously** instead of just when we first log in or when we want to watch videos for rewards. It is the *timing* of the advertisements while we are in the middle of battles, hatching dragons, etc.

I steal slices of time from life and loved ones to keep playing this game, I can't justify wasting that time stalled watching an ad. Why don't they do a small window that doesn't stop u from continuing to play? Some banner across the top since I hardly ever have to click up there to complete an action. Even if they took up half the screen but I could keep tapping on the game would be better than this.

But also understand... there is NO ACTUAL NEW CONTENT. We keep getting overthrown by too many newly colored old dragons with old names with just another adjective... neo, haunted, etc...

We have no space to put those dragons! Stables is a bad excuse to be able to keep collecting them, but even with 500 dragons in the stable I still have about 100 dragons in the storage that I simply cannot hatch.

Some bugs or problems in the game have existed for years and nothing has been done about them (i.e. interface with searching dragons or items anywhere).

With these newly added forced adds, which literally means we are now paying for the game, the players have all the reason to expect actual new game updates and game modifications. We will see if u r just about the money or if the extra resources will be used to improve the game.

I just looked at all 70 Champion type dragons trying to decide on some to craft with Essence. I only craft dragons that I think are nice to look at. I realized that the majority of these dragons fall into about 5 basic body types, just with different coloring. Not surprisingly, I kept choosing the same couple of body types but in different colors. I decided it isn't worth crafting more than 1 new Champion per account until they create something truly stunning.

These ads are annoying and frustrating. I can accept them for a reward but this way is really boring.
Sometimes I have just a couple of minutes to set farms and crops and little things I ve been planning but the unforeseen ads force me to not open the game.
They are not 5 seconds only... they last longer! And for nothing!
Some of them can be escaped before the end by tapping on the X button but many others force you to watch them till the end...
Please stop immediately this way to make easy money or you will easily lose your best players!

Just came on here to see if a thread has been started for these ads! They are very annoying! There are the quick 5 second ones, but i just had to watch a 30 second one. I have been playing this for years now and these ads might be the thing that makes me quit.

Yikes. You have to sit through the whole add without being able to close ad. It pops you off the game when ad is done. Some times takes you to store to get and it takes awhile to get back on game when you close Store. Aaarrgggggh. The update cause more issues than it solved.

I am convinced that Storm8 don't care about the concerns of it's players. They never do anything about any complaints they receive, they basically ignore them all. I honestly think they aren't really interested in their long term players anymore because most of us who have been playing the game for years, and managed to get the numerous gold producing dragons when they were initially offered at a reasonable price, well they would have generated quite a considerable amount of gold for us, so we don't need to buy gold or spend money anymore on the game. Even so, in the past I have spent quite a lot of money on this game and I don't appreciate these very annoying video adds popping up all the time now as a way to fill the Storm8 coffers. Come on guys, all you are doing is making your players very, very angry to the point where you will lose a lot of us. Wake up Storm8 and listen to our concerns and for goodness sake and do something about it.

I wish it was 5 seconds, it is usually 30-40 second, with taking you to store. Close store and ad freezes before continuing then takes you to store etc. Very annoying. I started post on other forum, so, no hope that this reply will ever reach any one who can fix this.

HOW DARE s8 have adult content ad to someone under18. Distributing porn to a minor. was not able to stop ad, ran the whole ad. Is this a crime? Ad popped up when tapped on finished hatch. Then it went back to dragon story and dragon was in habitat. Something very wrong with this, showing adult content to a minor. There are adults who may not want to see ads like this as well. Anyone knows about legalities?

I have been getting as long as 30 second ads from Tapjoy. when I went to see if I could opt out, they wanted a ton of info, including info I dont have. Ie. dragon story Storm 8. It would be different if I was opting in to watch the videos, but it is happening quite a bit. i will be leaving the game after 6 years. I have spent way too much money on this game to put up with this. You couldnt have come up with a non invasive way to bring in more dollars?
I also got an ad that was very adult in content. Glad it wasnt a kid playing. Not sure who had this bright idea...game crashes constantly anyway. ��

i started a 2 hour bingo task harvesting buffbeats, collected 7 buffbeats, forced to watch ad, game crashes, restart and the bingo task says EXPIRED.

Understandable. But this way of forcing people into watching ads (whenever the game decides, not the player) does not distinguish between people who make in-app purchases and those who don't. There are nicer ways of getting people into watching ads, like giving them a small reward that does not cost the game developers anything - which is done in addition anyway.

It is not good for business to make players angry or frustrated, especially if they have alternatives.

i understand ads may be necessary and have watched many to speed things up in the 4 storm 8 games have play. But the recent ones (that I am hoping are just for the holiday season) come unexpectedly at crucial moments in the games.

I am busier than normal during December and often only a few minutes to come and catch up on my game. The way it has been lately I can?t complete what I need to in order to complete the goals. I have had to forfeit all goals in all games due to the very long Interuptions. Please let the ads be for rewards only not these random ads that are affecting game play.
