Absolutely no way to tell. If the event is fun irrespective of (potential) lameness or drops, great. If not, not so great. I am holding out hope, Pollyanna that I am, that the Mona drops will come back up (I just got 4) and that the shRk drops will be absolutely phenomenal.

Bottleneck is going to be, at least one of the bottlenecks - the 10 flowers on a timer of 2 hrs requiring frequent logging in.

Ivy should therefore be safe to collect.

Another bottleneck will be that everything is crafted in the Workshop. Which is why there is the Mysterious Aquarium on sale in the Market for 225 gems. This event is slow going, energy intensive, and will require a lot of checking in. Wonderful graphics, S8!

Yes, we craft two. I don't know if they are for anything but decoration. The collection time is short, and, so far, the drops are coins, water, and fish. I put both of mine in storage for now, as I need space for all the other items for this event. I will bring them out later if needed or as I expand my mermaid area.

Boy, this is extremely challenging! Since this afternoon, I have not even made one Marble Aquarium, and we need three to make one Aquarium Column. For Goal 7, we need seven Marble Aquariums. I never really use them, but with all the workshop crafts all those silver and bronze runes are very helpful.

I just saved enough gold runes for my first Rainbow Alicorn. It took me a very long time, but I have to say he is amazing. Energy + decorations drops.

It seems that I might be the minority, but I love the Sharks. It?s something different from the normal fairies and gardens- which I understand is the theme, but how many fairies does a kingdom need? It does seem to take a lot of energy, but for all the years that I?ve played- I have always managed to finish.

Now if only I can get The Master Botanist to close out I would be a happy camper :)

I noted we may be able to craft beyond the max of 10 aquaria flowers if we get the 225 gem building. I am not getting it, but it may be worth it for some. Whoever posted about the boosts, thanks for the reminder! With the tinker camp updated to do loads more crafts (thank you thank you S8 for considering player experience, more of that please), the complete occupation of the workshops (like storming an embassy or a political sit-in! SO much to craft!) this event isn't as onerous as it could be in terms of distracting from other goals. PHEW!!!

No adventure showing up, so we can hold on to our nuggets! Yay! I am still recovering from making armoured lions.

Also - I finally have a use for all those coral reefs (well, not ALL, they do accumulate) : ) In case you are wondering about my toddler-like efforts, it is a fish. : D

Goal 7 requires 20 each of the Carnivorous and Omnivorous Fish alone.

Ok...question for S8. Why did I pay 60 gems for the gold flower if it's only gonna drop 1 fish or like this morning...it dropped 0 fish!!!

Checked the back of the card & max is 999 so that's not the problem!

I am more than a little alarmed at the 20 EACH carnivorous and omnivorous fish for goal 7.

I also am worried, I started to do some calculation to see if I would even make it with all my alarms set and resources ready.

I?m level 39 and I do have lower requirements on the column part of goal 7. I believe this was the first change. Here is mine:

Build Aquarium Columns 0/2 | Workshop, 2 hours - 3 Carnivorous fish, 3 omnivorous fish, 2 marble aquarium.

I have one column done and am working on the second. One workshop is currently creating the aquarium and the second is creating the second omnivorous fish. So I?ll have 3 carnivores fish and 1 more omnivorous fish left before I can complete the second column. So I should finish goal 7 before bed tonight. I?ll post my goal 8 then.

Can you believe that since yesterday afternoon, I have not even completed crafting one Aquarium Column! That is with buying the Mysterious Aquarium and getting up at 4 AM so my workshops are never idle. And two Aquarium Columns are required for Goal 7. I sure hope that future goals are for different items and not just more of the same. Goal 7 is a very time intensive undertaking!

That was my first thought as well! When compared side by side, it looks like they used the same design template but tweaked it a bit. I don't mind, really - they're just different enough that I won't mistake one for the other.

The Mysterious Aquarium is a slightly different color, without any embellishments and is much larger than the Terrarium when placed:

Now let's hope they give the craft building drops after the event like they did the Witchiest Cauldron; at least that way players could get some long term value from their gem spending.

IMO the Elven Fast Worker Boost May be critical. I am using 1 a day, in the evening when I have time to monitor it, plus save up fishies all day for the crafting.

Not impossible. There are a lot of parts to craft and it takes a lot of time. I never throw in the towel. I just plod on, and in the end, gem it, if I have to. So hang in there. The finish line looms ahead. It will just take a while to get there. I also like the features of this event. Nice imaginative and creative graphics. Best of luck to all!

I know I've said this the last several events, but it bears repeating: Great job with the sound effects, s8! I guess I can now say I know what sound a shark makes... at least in the realm of CS.

Glad to see the last few events weren't a fluke; it seems like we're getting back to more events that offer original items and away from the endless string of reused and recolored animals. Offering unique event items with individual traits (such as new animations and sound effects) really elevates game play and makes an event feel more complete - not to mention enjoyable - to me.

All the care and attention given to these little details are what made this game stand out and got me hooked to begin with. The effort to give goals/events with more original content is noticed and appreciated - keep 'em coming, s8!

Checked the back of the card & max is 999 so that's not the problem!

Since I've had great success in the past by spending gems for the "premier" item-uses less energy bc I always got at least one, or even multiples, of required item per collection-Sooooo, I used gems for the gold flower and like you, I have collected as often as possible with ZERO results:mad:

If you hold your iPad horizontal with on/off switch and volume control upper left, your home button is the round button in the middle of the right side. Click it twice quickly and game screen becomes a smaller icon, tap on it and it comes back and everything you’ve tapped is quick collected. Or you can swipe up from the bottom and swipe back. Once in a while you might have to double click the home button to get back to CS.

Goal 10:

The aquarium terrariums have a 10 minute timer and give water, mermaid scales so far.

1. Build 4 wood aquariums (potion shop takes 30 minutes-kelp, water, fish)

2. Gather 3 sea flowers (from Sherman)

3. Build 4 marble aquariums.

4. Grow 3 underwater plants-which each require 4 marble aquariums, 4 wood aquariums and 3 flowers from Sherman.

Again I'm level 39 so numbers may change for higher players.

Out of 10 collections on the purple flowers I'll get about 4 fish. Out of 10 on the gold I'll get about 8-so sometimes you do come up empty but at 1/2 the rate. I'm glad I got a good one but I wish I had bought 1 not 2 and saved the gems for Meghan's.

Yes. If you have an older iPad, swipe up from the bottom to bring up the mini menu, and then tap your screen again. If you have a six, swipe down in your upper right corner, and then tap the screen again.

In my younger kingdom I am crafting the 2 aquarium columns. I will finally be done with step 7 in 2 hours. That took forever! Lol

In my older kingdom I had the same problem with my game resetting and my craft didn't start in the workshop, so I'm about 30 minutes behind. I so can't wait to get this step done.

This is certainly energy intensive to the max!

Despite that fact, I am having fun. There is a good variety of stuff to do.

I was affected and the glitch basically makes it like no boost was used (double time and boosts).

In my Queendom, the Boost is fixed.

In order to complete goal 1-goal 10 (level 39) you'll need 72 shark teeth!!!!! You get 1 tooth per defeated shark. This doesn't even account for 55 you need if you wanna craft daddy shark! I think some might prefer the random adventure after all!

With this many sharks to defeat, I'm surprised it takes 15 hits to defeat them. It seems 8 or 10 would be more reasonable. I guess it's better than 20 though 😀

And I like pairs of things.Not keen on the merman for possible 1 to 4 energy drops after falling foul of Moanalise,which I spent gems on to get. Maybe I'll focus on big daddy shark. My goal for this event is to get the shark family, which I'm kinda salty about when I read here that mama shark is for gem only :(
Maybe they could give us the option to trade the Merman to a free Mama shark? (his design really not my cup of tea)

In average I need 5 energy to spawn one, then between 9-12 energy to defeat. So average energy to get 1 tooth: 15 energy.

I've only started playing events since a few months ago and goals have only been energy intensive toward the last few goals. Hope experienced players can share if there has been similar events like this event before? I only have 4 energy sources (one wizard school, monalise, storybook faerie and birthday kraken) so really concerned if I can complete this event.

The worst from memory was the Onyx Temple - took a lot of energy getting that to LVL10!
I do remember tho that every time a new format event rolls out everyone freaks out that they eat energy.
This one doesn’t seem too bad to me yet.

I feel like this event should be doable for most - despite it seeming energy intensive.
Remember we are early days still. :)

Here’s some tips:
Make sure to play every two hours (or as close to that) that you can.
(you don’t need to interrupt your sleep - missing 5 or 6 collections a day is fine)
Spend all of your energy collecting the flowers and chopping rocks or kelp.
Ignore the rest of your kingdom.
Shark Teeth will naturally come with chopping rocks and kelp -
Just make sure you use the quick collect method so that Warrior Sharks spawn more frequently.
Always have the two Workshops crafting event items.
(I recommend always crafting the same item at the same time - craft in 2s not 1s)

That's 55 shark teeth per shark daddy * 15 energy per tooth, 55*15=825 per shark dad.

I am still at a level to have to choose, so I am going to save for a MH and count myself blessed that I can save at all.

And yes, maybe was it HagyPagy? - new structures can generate a bit more stress, but, it doesn't have to. The event does seem do-able as long as we follow sensible strategies - that include sleeping! : )

If the shark mum is indeed for gems only, it's just baby Sherman for me. As our realms are used to taking in orphans, I don't see a big problem.

I wrote a few pages back that the dad takes 1,000 energy to get sndvis basically a pond. Hence - just say no. Hey here is another shark for purchase, but not sure it is the mom. She is listed as Meghana. The necklace in the forge has to be for someone.

We do tend to freak out with new event formats, but this one is definitely energy intensive.

I still have 6 fish containers to make before crafting the columns and aquariums for level 7.

I have been almost exclusively using my energy for event materials (2 Wizard schools, last event reward and lots of daily's). I have also been pretty close to every 1.5 hours of logging in. No night alarms. I made it to level 7 pretty quickly so I am debating continuing after level 8.

Is it worth another 8-10 days of chopping and fighting sharks. I'm at 35 shark teeth. Once I get enough teeth, I will park a monster then it won't be so bad. The annoying part is 40 energy can be used to chop not even one rock or kelp because of the shark energy used.

No daddy shark for me!

What is the quick collect method?This is a method of collecting that eliminates the chop, chop, chop, chop.....
Two methods: The preferred way is that when you are chopping kelp or rock, tap quickly 10 or more times and then slide your phone screen up or down and then back.
Another way is to do your fast tap, tap, tapping and then hit the Home button, I quickly do it 2 times, on your device.
If you look back a couple of pages there are probably better instructions.

I wonder if we get an aquarium with those cute fishies and the columns we're sweating over.
That merman is nicely designed, but I'm not a big fan. And I don't think I'll be able to have complete shark family. They will remain separated.
The storyline is that those fish needed a home isn't it? I've lost track.

We get the columns as decor and they are very pretty. We get the aquarium with a 10 minute timer and each collection I get either water and scales or water and fish.

My rock has started spawning the glimmer golem often and the waste of energy is driving me crazy. I don?t mind the dire boar as much because at least you get some energy back and I also need the milk to craft the baby version. But using energy fighting other monsters when I need to get the shark is very annoying.

At the beginning of this event I was spawning a dire boar from rocks with nearly single every chop. So now I have been spawning the sharks then going and chopping some rocks then ****ing the shark. Repeat.

I caved and bought the value pack for $4.99 In both of my kingdoms. I did it mainly for the fish. I can keep the boost going in my older kingdom, but I keep running out of fish, lol!

In contrast, my younger kingdom has plenty of fish but I can only use the boost 2 more times.

The 15 minutes unlimited energy helped get some more shark teeth as well.

Heading to the first page to see just how many of everything we need. Lord only knows what the rest of the event is going to be like!

I have to hand it to S8, they have done a really good job on this event!!

As far as the boost goes, I have been using it nearly non-stop and have had no problems.

In step 8, for higher level players you need 4 marble aquariums to make the aquarium terrarium as well as 20 water and 50 rock each. Still need a total of 2 aquarium terrarium, just the requirements are different.

This is a method of collecting that eliminates the chop, chop, chop, chop.....
Two methods: The preferred way is that when you are chopping kelp or rock, tap quickly 10 or more times and then slide your phone screen up or down and then back.
Another way is to do your fast tap, tap, tapping and then hit the Home button, I quickly do it 2 times, on your device.
If you look back a couple of pages there are probably better instructions.
And I believe it's explained in the Hub under tips for new players

At this rate, not only will I not complete THAT goal, but I cannot foresee clearing the seventh goal on this challenge for at least another two days. And it gets harder?? WHY. ALL THE WHYS.

Well, you just keep trying. Most trades result in bronze. Every now and then you WILL get silver in the mix. Gold is so ultra rare, that this may not show up in months. Basically only thing to do is keep doing eleven trades.

We're referring to the Elven Outpost, which you unlock and then can daily submit various materials/crafts for Elven runes that can boost various components of your board. Spiritwind posted the link at the top of the first page with a lot of other general use links. :) According to the page it's available once you're level 30, but you do need to expand to it to gain access to the quest line.

Haha, I may quail at the beginning but like many I plod along. I'm just trying to regularly hit up the fish and take down a few sharks every round of full energy/wizard schools. If I don't finish, I don't finish. If I do, I do. I am super surprised at how big of an energy sink goal 7 is, since it usually ramps/scales exponentially later on. Just a bigger speed bump than I expected. We'll see how this goes a week from now, haha.

Nothing wrong with it, just a new kind of fish. They eat omins...I think we'll get those later on in this event ;) Good of your daughter, my brain also used autocorrect and didn't notice.

Still on goal 7, I haven't even finished any aquariums.

A word of warning: don't start crafting an aquarium before the goals of bottling are ticked off. You'll have to make them again. Not that it really matters, you still have to make more aquariums and need more bottled fishies, but it's terribly annoying.

Seems like eleven boost has some super rare bug in it. When this occurs it doubles the timer instead of reducing it.

This is what annoys me. I went ahead and did the goals up to making the tide pool ponds because I like the way they look. But do I really need to keep going? Do I need more water and fish from the aquarium? Or does it do something else I may need after the event? Not really caring about the sharks or the merman?

I only really started dipping my toes in last night after I saw the tide pool pond and decided I wanted two of them. I'm slowly making the fish for the aquarium and columns. Besides needing 100 stone for a future step (aquarium terrarium), is there any reason *not* to pre-chop all kelp, pebbles and shark teeth while waiting on goal 7 crafts?

I'm currently holding back on 5 of my outcroppings but could probably get the 100 from my mines during crafting so it may be worth getting them done anyway - I need silver for mermaid quest and will go back to collecting mines anyway soon.

I've used up the 1400 energy I saved on skipping the last event (and all new energy source drops accumulated from the start of this event) so I'd like to get back to saving energy before it's time to collect my weeklies, but don't want to waste it on prechops I'll need to do again.

I make it a habit to not trust mermen as a general rule. They think theyre soooo cool with their tridents and long hair. Well, guess what, Aquaman! You... you are pretty cool, actually.

But I mostly wanted to give emotional support because I, too, am still stuck on the seventh goal. I have one column made. One. SPEAKING OF ONE... the kraken gift we won has twice dropped one energy, and Monalise from the last event has also been dropping one or two at a time. But ONE energy? I think I've fully disassociated from the event as a whole! Normally, I play hard and use lots of energy to get through an event within the first week so I have the second half of the event to relax and get back to my personal realm goals. For this one, though, I've found myself just sort of floating along and not really paying much attention or having the focus to finish quickly.

Normally, I try to make an extra of each crafting item but it hadn't occurred to me this time until I saw the Pool Pond disappeared from the craft list. Even then, I just noticed and thought, "Oh well, I sure missed that chance." Looking through the thread I decided I didn't actually like or want any of the items enough to put in the effort of getting extras. Not sure why I've lost interest in this one specifically when I like the art and story just fine but I did all the same. Now I just hope my complacency is not a permanent issue; I'm finding I sort of miss having that drive to finish this quickly. ;)

It's my understanding that the different pricing for in app purchases isn't altered by s8 themselves, it's altered by the app stores in your specific countries. If you do some digging you'll find it's not just happening in s8 games but all games that offer in app purchases; you'll also see how the app stores can get away with this. It's an interesting subject to read about, if nothing else, lol.

Some scary math:
As per info on page 1, just talking about crafting time for *components* of event necessities/final goal crafts of underwater plant and aquarium terrarium...

Total omnivorous fishies (or ominivorous fish), 36, 1 hr each, 36 hrs of crafting.
Total carnivorous fishies, same 36, at two hours each, 72 hours of crafting.
Total marble aquariums, 18, at four hours each, another 72 hours of crafting.

That adds up to 180 hours of crafting 90 items.

With just over 9 days of the event left, that is 20 items per day, just for components. With two workshops, that is 10 visits per day. Just for component crafting.

Remember I do love this game, so keep this in mind when I say that even I think this is really more than a bit much. Which is way a polite English manner of conveying, 'Excuse me sir, may we please have some less?' Yes, 'Excuse me, sir, may we please have some less?'

And I would trust that the S8 people will not react as Mr Bumble of the Oliver Twist orphanage, as (wait for the drama), "...tears were not the things to find their way to Mr Bumble's soul; his heart was waterproof."
My hope is some character will pop up with a gift of 8 or 10 (or more??) of the prepared omnivorous or carnivorous fish at least. Preferably more for those of us that are having boosting issues.

My boost isn't working again. My carnivorous fish isn't going in half the time. This is extremely frustrating. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can play in just a couple chunks a day and crafting 6 hours worth of materials in the 3 hour boosted time is critical to winning.

The last two events I played I spent 20-30 gems each speeding up things that were close but I will not spend any gems to speed something broken that is supposed to be done.

This event is impossible even for most advanced players. Goal 10 completion will take most players with just few days left to complete Goals 11-14, which aren?t going to get any less intensive than previous goals. This is practically impossible.

PS: I have been playing faithfully for years without ever complaining. I think it?s time to move on. It?s plain ridiculous to expect people to enjoy when something is this impossible.

I’ve a large store of energy so not limited by this. Boosts are working for me and I use them a couple of times a day. I’ve taken early retirement last year so am able to play off and on in a daily span of 16 hours. However at level 50, I am still at goal 9, only made 4 aquariums, still crafting the last few fish to make the last 4 aquariums before I can craft the 2 terrariums so it won’t be till tomorrow morning GMT before I get to goal 10. Goal 9 has taken 2.5 days with boosts, I can only imagine goal 10 will take about 4 days for level 50 players. Goals 11-13 better not be as tedious and time consuming or most players will not finish.

Interestingly, energy is not my bottleneck this event. The crafting takes so long, I always have more than enough resources chopped and ready to go. This includes the wayward fish. The shark teeth, while energy intensive, are also not difficult to get quickly enough since sharks seem to spark quite regularly while chopping kelps and stones. (I'm not much interested in crafting a pond disguised as an oversized shark, so I don't need those extra 55 teeth.)

I can't / won't use a lot of boosts for the workshop, so we'll see if I'll have enough time to craft everything I need. This will definitely be the sticking point for me in whether I'm able to finish this event or not.

I remember I posted during last event that I actually set a 2 hour timer. I didn't think that this would become a requirement to meeting goals. A lot of players will quit.
Right now all I'm working on are expansions, and chopping my kelp and stones as needed. I'm not using boosts or buying packs.
We'll see how far this takes me.

It should say 3 flowers ( I currently have 5), but someone else posted it needs 3. Never-mind it: to complete all the goals -you need at least 9 flowers during 10th goal.

Total for Goal 10:

12 Marble Aquariums. ( For which you need 24 Carnivorous and 24 omnivorous fish) (Total 96 Wayward fish on Marble Aquariums alone). You also need 48 Shark tooth for all 12.

I was level 39 (flipped to 40 during this event) and I have the same requirements as the higher level. I'd thought they'd be a little lower.
