Yep, press look. You'll need 20 energy to chop down the new dice stack, and then wait a half hour for Thurston to play his game in the new game table you place in your kingdom. No major roadblocks yet, just waiting out the 30 minutes and not gemming ahead (just 2 gems but I will wait).

This event is off to a good start! I like the creativity of basically having our friends in the realm play D&D and it makes total sense that the "craft" would be a roll of the dice. Also, energy dropper are still very valuable to me and the artwork is, as usual, amazing. So far, I'm in!
Oooh, and needing golden eggs doesn't bother me. Inn fact, it makes me happy that it's not golden nuggets for once!

You may, maybe, perhaps, may wish to make a lucky potion for the Baron. If you chop too many dice stacks like some people I know (ahem, me) in the beginning you might be short a few critters that come up later in the event that usually generate from whatever needs 20 chops. A stack of dice in this case. I note w further irony that a top roll in D&D, so my daughter says, is 20. : )

Ivy's roll, for which you need a drop from her hut called a holding bad, takes 2 (TWO) hours, 8 gem speed up.

Shadow fangbeasts are spawned in farmhouses. It takes 15 hits to **** them. The first one gave me 2 tokens, the second 3. I?m surely not going to summon the beast up with this drop rate!

The farmhouses spawn regular fang beasts too. Also, the shadow ones spawn items necessary for Thomas? roll.

Ok, these things for Tomas’ roll are called shadow spells and it seems that either I have singular bad luck or that each fangbeast drops only one. And so because Thomas needs four of these, there is quite a lot of ****ing involved.

I collected from Ivy's hut and did NOT get the item.

The table still needed to be collected, but the game did not actually reset, because my goals were in the same place and I did not have to go through the story. ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY.

I can either wait 12 hours for Ivy's Hut, pay 50 Gems to maybe get some the materials needed from the event chest or wasting even more energy to get the Special Dice needed to complete more Baron's Rolls that again, only offers the chance of the items needed.

I was trying to get as much of the event done in the next few days as possible to work with my current schedule but not sure that's going to work now, lol. It's things like this that make these events so tedious and I really wish they'd figure out a better way to structure things.

Out of my 12 farmhouses, 3 regular fangbeasts and one shadow fangie. That can't be right, can it, esp w needing 4 shadow spells for each of Thomas' turns? SW, is this something about which you would enquire? Is this a bug? Thanks! The regular fangbeasts don't take a lot of energy in total, and sometimes one can wind up better like with skunkupines. But maybe the regular fangbeasts are taking up spawn space of the beasties we actually need?

I’m in the same place but my problem is that while I still have energy left, all is going to take a long time because unlike the workshops or kitchens or other crafting buildings, the table is only one place where you can do the rolls. 8x30 minutes for Thurston and then Thomas and Ivy. It is a long queue and no way of making it shorter.

I collected from Ivy's hut and did NOT get the item.

The table still needed to be collected, but the game did not actually reset, because my goals were in the same place and I did not have to go through the story. ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY.

Since I'm now waiting 12 (10 now) more hours for ivy, I really have nothing to do. I don't really want to clear dice stacks because I'm sure we will need a monster that spawns from them, what to do, what to do?

Yes, you’ll need 8 of the Thurston. I’m at that stage, so it’s not as if there is an opportunity to spawn some other beasts from the dice stacks.

Oh, no worries there. 'A Song of Shadow' is a Side Goal that pops up and is completely independent of the main event goals. The Side Goal asks us to gather 500 Shadow Tokens and craft a Shadow Beast - either the Shadow Fangbeast or Shadow Skunkupine will complete the goal. We only get $100 and 10 xp for completing the Side Goal so it's pretty much just there to point us in the right direction for crafting the animals I think.

Honestly, I dig the DnD/tabletop vibe but as soon as I saw Bag of Holding, I was like hol up, isn't that copyrighted? XD The bag design is very inspired by the actual Bag of Holding art, too (which is creepy if you've never looked at it, for the 5e version). I like how it's a change of pace from chopping trees and rocks though. I like how with the table design you can kind of station reward creatures at the chairs like they're playing. :)

I've ****ed 5 shadow fangbeasts so far with 17 Shadow Tokens. Mah lawd it'll take forever to get 500 tokens.

The baron kindly dropped me the jewels I needed to complete Thomas's roll. That meant the step completed as soon as I got the 4 fangbeasts, which was hard going given the spawn rate, and I still have the materials for the next goal. Not a stellar prize, but definitely better than random deco.

And so far I'm enjoying this one. I get 3-4 tokens per beast, so I'm worried how many we will need to slaughter for 500 tokens to feel worth the extra effort.

For players who don't have the Tinker Camp yet : Tinker Camp is an extra crafting building you can buy with trade tickets in the Royal Exchange.
It can make crafts from the workshop and potion shop, and just got a big upgrade, letting you make even more stuff like faerie building material, earthen block/beam and Enchanted Lantern.
It's definitely worth the trade tickets, get it as fast as you can.

No deco or gnome for me. I received some event items for the other character rolls. I will only do the Baron roll when I get the special dice. I have plenty of regular dice right now so who knows if I will do another Baron roll or not.

Sounds like the Baron’s roll is the equivalent of the adventure in the castle that we usually get. Much preferred! This means our castle is not tied up waiting on four hour adventures (or waiting on the stuff to go on them). Also loving the golden eggs instead of golden nuggets. And on top of that they added enchanted lanterns and spellbound items to the Tinker Camp. THANK YOU, S8!! It’s nice to know someone has been listening.

She's not a guaranteed drop actually, as others have said earlier. I'm sure persons buying gems and paying for packs and boosters are not deterred by cost to speed up. I'm sure someone (probably several someones) already has the shadow fangbeast and shadow skunkupine purchased by gems.

You can get all four in one day if you used gems :p

Nope. I get about one or two shadow fangs for 10 farmhouses. I was going to build more but I see people with 12 farmhouses are having the same spawn rate so I can't see the point of building more when I can just as well wait the few minutes collection time.

It seems to be quantity not quality. I have out 10-12 farmhouses & usually spawn every collection. I mass collect, waiting for 10-12 energy to accumulate.
I had 1 farmhouse out during the MH & tapped it to try for the Fangbeast part of the daily goals & nada. So collect en mass when you can.

I have a lot of stored energy and 12 farmhouses but still having to wait for refresh of 10min and low spawn rate of shadow fangbeasts meant I did not have many shadow tokens. However once you reach goal 10 and shadow skunkupines spawn from corn harvests, you start getting shadow tokens from these too in addition to shadow spines. That said, you still need a ton of energy and time to fight these spawns, very tedious!

How do you get past 99 corn? It sounds like with maxed grits and simple feasts you're pretty advanced. With 3 adventure buildings and 2 (now 3!) feast droppers, I never get past 20 of a feast.

I agree with all that 500 of something is wild, but my guess is s8 is setting up some things specifically for the advanced players and gem buying folks. Not every challenge should be attainable by every player. People with so many more resources still need a challenge of some kind and if it cost 80 energy or 50 mithril, that's still nothing. I am appreciative that they show the high costs sooner these days so people who are not that far in the game know it's time to sit out and wait for another goal, or focus on progressing story line rather than event.

I don’t know why I have more than 99. I have 2 adventure buildings and lots of things that drop random food. I went through the hub, and the only way I can see to use corn is to sell stables and build them back up again, because at two levels they use corn, but they also use a lot of other stuff I don’t have. My current plan is to repeatedly start the adventure that uses simple feast, and then store my castle. Really Storm8? Is that what I have to do to progress? Surely others are having this problem. Everything seems to drop corn.

But the enchanted essence is not a guaranteed drop and from other posts of gnome drops, this is a rare drop. The cyclonician, witch cauldron and witch alicolts have a better chance of dropping this. The gnome is also a rare drop from the baron roll which requires golden eggs, which I believe is another rare commodity for both new and seasoned players without a multitude of golden mines.

Also I have played for just 6+ years on CS not 8, 2011 is when I started playing TL games but not CS.

I believe you can continue to plant crops even if you are maxed out. At harvest, you get the typical coin amount and a black flag for the corn itself plus an extra 15 coin for maxed out item. You probably got your extra corn from the cabbage hut. The hut items can exceed the maximums.

For curiosity's sake, I've kept track of my Shadow Fangbeasts so far and the consesus seems like 3-4 per monster.

Still only 9% so who knows how this will pan out. I've been playing for a while but not years like other players. I'm on the fence on whether I can feasibly acquire the pet or not.

I've done the Baron roll twice so far and got a Dragonstone on one and a Shadow Spell and some Shadow tokens on the other (yay burning all those resources from what drops from ****ing 1 fangbeast).

You get the Conquest Reward for Storybook Faerie after you defeat the Shadow Baron... Quest disappears from Queen/King Keep afterwards but returns when required!

I believe you can continue to plant crops even if you are maxed out. At harvest, you get the typical coin amount and a black flag for the corn itself plus an extra 15 coin for maxed out item. You probably got your extra corn from the cabbage hut. The hut items can exceed the maximums.

<head slap> Of course. I was haunted by a challenge where we had to cook something, and the craft was full so it couldn?t be done until you used some.
I notice that the bag that Ivy drops costs 24 gems at the table. And Ivy is 24 gems to speed up. So maybe we were only ever supposed to get one or two and the people who got four had a lucky glitch. I don?t know how many we need for the third round of the game, but we need 2*4=8 at goal 8 and 3*4=12 at goal 11. Hopefully, just one more round after that, since we need three of ?something? for the fairy.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'd also like to know how much energy this faerie is supposed to drop,and the timer. After getting the Valkyrie,hoping for a decent energy drop for my 400 gems,I've only ever gotten 5-7 energy per day. I won't be getting too carried away with this event if this faerie is the same. Tho I know s8 won't give us that info as no one would bother slavishly tapping away,waiting for hours for things to compete,only to get an energy dropper that drops less than our wizard schools. And less frequently. Anyhow,good luck all,and thanks for the info from those forging ahead👍🏻

You need 10 dragonstones, 5 magic gems and 3 travel potions plus the shadowbane sword you are crafting in goal 11. This was posted a few pages back by kolakid2.

Can I ask for some clarification about the Storybook Gnome?

The in-game information says it comes from the 50g event chest which also drops event materials and the Game Piece decos but several of my neighbors say they got it from the Baron's Roll. I know the chest has all the same drops as the Baron's Roll but I'm not sure if the reverse is true.

Since they look very like the the other Gnomes I have, my goal is to get 2 of the Storybook Gnomes to add to my collection. As of now, I'm not sure which would be the better bet for getting them: keep sending out Baron's Rolls or wait to see if the chests go on sale and chop some of those....

EDIT: Nevermind, just got a Splash Screen that shows the Baron's Roll does in fact have the same drops as the Game Chest.

When Nandina has a corn request for runes but I can not fulfill the other deliveries, I will drop my corn there. It is a good way to get rid of items you maxed out!

FOUR times!?! I thought only 3 because that?s how many we need to make the Faerie reward. I sure hope that?s a typo. I had at least two collections in a row with zero enchanted chalice. Didn?t know we could buy a second so many thanks for posting this. I bought the second one and got the chalice so now I have a total of two. The only chalice I got from the first was the first tap. I also am having difficulty even spawning a shadow beast much less getting the fang. It?s pretty pitiful having a 4 hour timer and no drops and taking so many farmhouses. More and more it seems S8 wants us to finally have enough.

The armor requires the sword+shield (sword + 4 enchanted chalise + 8 shadow fangs) + 3 spells of light

You do NOT receive a reward the third time you fight the shadow baron. You will need to become stronger. Each time you need to craft all the items from the previous steps plus one new item. First time, shadowbane sword. Second time, shadowbane sword and shield. Third time shadowbane sword, shield, and shadowbane armor. The last time, all of these are used to craft a new item for the final time you face the shadow baron.

Thanks for all your postings synthesising and consolidating. The bottleneck seems to be something of a tie between faerie tribute and Ivy's hut.

Has anyone who bought a second faerie tribute want to share if you would recommend or not?

Off to get a few more spines (still gross, but fun gross) to complete my last two swords. : )

I prefer to think that by spines they are referring to the pointy things that porcupines drop and not to the backbone ...

Very first collection from Faerie Tribute right after purchase was the needed item. The next two collections have not produced the needed item to proceed. With 4 hrs between collections, I think this may be my bottleneck.

Get rid of any Monsters on your board as when you complete the adventure the Shadow Baron appears for you to defeat.
Note: This goal will give you 1 of the 3 items you need to get the Major Prize of the Faerie. We'll need to do this goal another 2 times most likely to get the 3 Conquest Rewards.
