Goal Information


The following notes have been consistent since season 1. Season specific information will be posted in the respective discussion thread.

* Get rid of any monsters on your board. You can tell if you have one you can't see because of the music.

* The following may not drop tokens - pink skunkupine, pink alicorn, wedding alicorn, gem horses.

* Monsters also drop their normal items in addition to the tokens.

* Do the Bronze Hunter Trade if you are nearly maxed on Shield tokens so that they don't go to waste.

* A Level 5 Jousting Arena will spawn a monster on every collection. Link to Jousting Arena Renovations (https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?83751-Castle-Story-08-06-Update-Jousting-Arena-Renovations-(levels-4-amp-5)) thread.

* The Mythic Research Center crafts are available to craft anytime if you have the tokens.

* The new trades will appear after you do 1 of any trade in the Trade Wagon (if applicable).

* Remember to collect from Princess Lorelei's fountain for a chance at gold tokens (about a 1 in 3 drop rate)

* Trolls have started counting and dropping tokens when defeated.

* Blue dire boars keep changing as to whether or not they are multi spawn or not. If you chop twice and it doesn't spawn, then this is a season where it doesn't. It's not a bug.

Do we think it's a daily drop that can live with the bountiful table and mystery dinner table so I'd recoup my feasts in a month? Weekly collection wouldn't be worth it. Who's going for it?

Depends on the drops. If it drops the feasts it is gobbling up to craft, sure! Plus it is a hunky warrior type. ; ) Thurston doesn't cut it as a Queendom Protector of the Realm. ; )

If it drops armour, I'm good already for those drops and don't even craft much in the Forge anymore besides mithril.

Big question for me is if second portal is worth it. It takes over 2 years, I think, for a portal to pay back its energy investment but I do anticipate playing that long, esp w such an awesome forum experience. Xoxo : )

If so, I am better off draining my energy as fast as poss so I can get the free refills.

I am not showing a leaderboard and I don't give a toss about it. Would be SO pleased if it never shows up for me. : )

I know I'm in the minority but I like leaderboards. I've been lucky enough to have some evenly paired boards, or I was the frontrunner (sorry). It DOES drop feasts - all of them it looked like - so I look forward to finding out the collection time from Destiel0918 - Thanks for jumping on it and keeping us posted!

I'd skip a second portal. It really does take SO long to recoup that energy expenditure. Unless you have a bunch of unicorns that are spitting out gold coins, you enjoy the hunt that you save up energy specifically for THAT, you don't have any more story lines or you don't have anything else that interests you then sure. In my opinion, I semi-wish I'd never bothered with the first one. It'd be better to use energy towards adventure gems for another Flower Power alicorn during a sale.

I know I'm in the minority but I like leaderboards. I've been lucky enough to have some evenly paired boards, or I was the frontrunner (sorry). It DOES drop feasts - all of them it looked like - so I look forward to finding out the collection time from Destiel0918 - Thanks for jumping on it and keeping us posted!

I'd skip a second portal. It really does take SO long to recoup that energy expenditure. Unless you have a bunch of unicorns that are spitting out gold coins, you enjoy the hunt that you save up energy specifically for THAT, you don't have any more story lines or you don't have anything else that interests you then sure. In my opinion, I semi-wish I'd never bothered with the first one. It'd be better to use energy towards adventure gems for another Flower Power alicorn during a sale.

I aslo skipped second portal for now - it is too expensive, takes up too many gold tokens - and even at max level is weaker than Wizard School. There are so many things I would miss if I would go for the second one now.

I would do all daily alicorns - Armored ones ( with chance of Mithril), Purple ones.

Armored Direwolves.- more energy

Cabbage hut - it is worth it if they eventually have good prizes in the Tent.

Armored alicorns or unicorns are great.
Or go for the armored maxotaur, it will save you all the energy used in feasts crafting. If you can frequently go on desert sand or dark cave adventure you can have rare crate items as well as gems and energy.

25 hearty feasts to get an armored maxotaur... The light armor is easy to come by in my kingdom and I have the gold tokens. I'll need to craft feasts. Do we think it's a daily drop that can live with the bountiful table and mystery dinner table so I'd recoup my feasts in a month? Weekly collection wouldn't be worth it. Who's going for it?

Hmm, I have already fullfiled my priority list in MRC.

1) Unicorns - Daily energy source + they drop tokens, even super rare chance for Gold tokens outside the hunt + spellbound dew.
2) Armored Alicorns - daily energy + chance for Mithril
3) Armored Direwolves- they are expensive- but again - ENERGY.
4) Armored Lions - Nice drops, decent chance for +3 trade tickets.
5) Cabbage Hut - despite most prizes not being worth it , the rare months were prices are good ( daily alicorns) - I will gladly spend all my cabbages there.

Definitely will make Armored Maxitaur - all if we can have more than 1. Crafting meals during events takes too much effort ( and by meals I mean Spicy and Sweet feasts) - those are so hard to make during events.

Hooray! 2 day works for me. The equivalent of a little under 2 months to recoup the feasts used in crafting the Armored Maxotaur are a decent value. I'll do it!

Energy droppers. No question for me, was the first lots I crafted to max. Esp the unicorn goats (They have those beards so that is what I call them; they are really just called unicorns) as they drop tokens too. 24 hr timer is a bit rough, but I love them.

I get 40 from my Direwolves pretty often- and I it irks me that Wizard Portal is weaker than Wizard School - especially considering how expensive it is. I know some love it - but every time I see it I am like - why 8 energy on max level - not 10. Ergh. Tried wading through cloudberry bushes. Took 14 bushes to generate first critter and 11 for the second. That is 25 shield tokens missed.

My preference is to wait for the horses. I can trade in 50 shield tokens for a couple of swords and bits and bobs. I am not sufficiently advanced to need the wisp essences in bulk yet, and I still have MRC crafting to do, so the cloudberry bush strategy will be great when I am ready.


Instead of Cloudberry bushes ...Try Grand Rooted Lilium(800 coins) spawns Faun, Wisp , Skunkupine & Fangbeast...also get wood useful for making Maxotaur Shields ...20 hits but spawns 2/3 monsters every time

I find that, short of the purple golem from horses, all monsters are as scarce as hens' teeth for me. The Maxotaur is the only thing spawning from cows and pigs now. No fangbeasts. I haven't been able to successfully spawn trolls, skunkupines, wisp (green or orange). :( So I suppose I will wait on my horses now.

Is anyone else having problems with the Maxotaur tokens? First I had 27 tokens then after fighting a Maxotaur I checked the count to see how many I was getting per battle. I had 21! Tried again and then I had 25. That seemed to be going in the right direction. I tried one more battle and when I was finished I had only 23 tokens! At this rate, I’ll just be wasting my time. I skimmed through the post and didn’t see anything, so I hope this isn’t a repeat. (It’s late, I’m tired)

well i'm close to getting the Maxotaur. I won't be able to get the armoured one this time because there is no way I can make that many feasts. plus i just made my first animal in the MRC (armoured ali). i had a bunch of energy at the beginning stored up that i used some. but since all my horses still had like 5 hours, i kept the energy and instead went to sleep. so my daily energy droppers timed out for collection this morning and i collected from all my horses and used the grand rooted illum (i have never gotten less than 3 beasts from one plant. one plant i got 3 fangbeasts, 2 fauns, 1 wisp. but usually it is 3-4 beasts for me.) to suppliment and balance the tokens. but now i burned through all my energy and have to wait for the refill.

Wow this maxotaur while cool looking is utterly disappointing. It is basically equivalent to a baby flyer which i have a ton of. I'm not optimistic about the LB grand prize either and will not spend 10k+ energy to get it. So that means I'm pretty much done. The armored maxotaur is the only good thing this hunt but unfortunately it is capped at 1.

Hope y'all have a good hunt and achieve all you set out to do this time.

Yes, that is my understanding and I'm excited. Feast droppers are great especially if you take breaks from stories/events to save energy. You can keep adventures going without compromising energy saving.

If you don't have any alicorns I'd do that first, but otherwise I think this is the best armored item so far... Though I need more info on Lion.

Yes- it will stay in MRC. It is same as The Mystery Dinenr table- 2 days and option to get any meals.

Personally I jumped for it with no regrets since with all the events going on - I really NEEDED the chance to get better quality meals. During events it is quite hard to prepare sweet feasts and Spicy feasts. With Barracks, Haunted Castle and Castle - they eat up my meals too quickly.

Armored one will have chance to drop all meals ( including Sweet meals and Spicy meals) and all other. It is basically same as Mystery Dinner table with 2 day timer.

Yes. I had made the same comment earlier. Shortdanzr reminded us to pull out those rooted Lilium. I have gotten three fangbeasts to spawn from about three Lilium. Fangbeasts always go on holiday during monster hunts though.

If you do fight her it would be worth using 10 Gems to double your shields earned for the leaderboard base prize, saves a lot of energy to get through the 10 goals.

I'd already beaten her before I read this and used up all my energy, but I got 100 from a daily Ali and saw your post and started thinking, I have five horses so I figured I'll give the boost agl go... And I got another (!!!!) 100 from another one of my 8 daily Alis I collected during the hour! Made up for the terrible luck yesterday.

I used a crate but unfortunately ran out of horses, the boar, and a troll... I kept track of energy used (net energy, not counting getting energy back) and by using 262 energy I got 761 shields! I'll be able to reach the 2300 now. Thanks for the idea. :)

I disagree with the estimate that Lorelei's Fountain gives a gold token 1 out of 3 drops. With 4 accounts, collecting from each twice a day, I am barely getting 1 a day. I've gotten 2 so far this event.

and folks, the "energy prize" drop from chests is wonky again. I supposedly got 10 energy from a Mystery Chest, but it didn't add to my total. So don't be surprised.

They open automatically when you earn them. The prizes pop up quickly and sometimes you will receive a black flag if you are maxed out on an item. Usually, however, they give you things that are not goods so you aren’t maxed out... gold, energy, LB points etc. after you receive it, check your inventory and you will see what you received (unless it’s energy or LB points which will just be added to your total).

I believe it's the Search for Sabina goal, late in Part 3, where you have to protect Guptil from the Faun. Then cloudberry bushes and grand rooted lilium will spawn fauns. They are only 15 hits so I like them in Monster Hunt.

Other responsibilities kept me away from the game until last night. Now that I'm looking at what's offered this Hunt, I'm not sure if I even want to try to craft Troll Tokens like I usually do. I'm having to talk myself into even getting all the milestone prizes, my interest is just not in it this time.

I think it's largely because the only things left for me to craft in the MRC are the ones with drops I don't really need or want: the Armored Kelpie and Siren namely. I really hope they start releasing new energy droppers in the MRC - I feel like it's been a while. Maybe if we get some better options in there, my zeal for crafting Troll Tokens will come back?

Hmm, I have already fullfiled my priority list in MRC.

1) Unicorns - Daily energy source + they drop tokens, even super rare chance for Gold tokens outside the hunt + spellbound dew.
2) Armored Alicorns - daily energy + chance for Mithril
3) Armored Direwolves- they are expensive- but again - ENERGY.
4) Armored Lions - Nice drops, decent chance for +3 trade tickets.
5) Cabbage Hut - despite most prizes not being worth it , the rare months were prices are good ( daily alicorns) - I will gladly spend all my cabbages there.

Definitely will make Armored Maxitaur - all if we can have more than 1. Crafting meals during events takes too much effort ( and by meals I mean Spicy and Sweet feasts) - those are so hard to make during events.

Although I'm done with Mermaid Quests -i will do Armored Sirens and Kelpies- so my elves would get their outrageous items they seem to constantly need.

Armored Bears- not best, - basically they are Dragons in disguise. Not priority.
Amored Kitstunecorn - I rarely even collect from mine - just drops lemonade and +3 oranges etc. Not priority.
Golden Peacoks - Just chance for gold items. ( Not bad, not great)
Armored unicorns ( dark) - haven't bothered to make them yet - seems they mainly drop coins.

Some love Wizard Portal - but it takes like 85 Gold tokens to build - and another 90 to upgrade. Too expensive - missing out so many other items.

Darn it, I just started crafting an Armored Bear. Wish I knew this so I could have instead finished getting 2 more Armored Direwolfs and the Cabbage Hut first. On the flip side it is only 15 troll tokens so not a huge waste.

Well, Armored Bears sometimes DO drop Mithril too - very rare they also have chance for 5 energy ( as rare). But it may help you to get to next Armored Direwolves faster. And yeah - they are 15 coins, so not too bad.

Every leader board I have participated in over the last year I have finished 1st or 2nd but I always used ALL my energy over several hours a day and ALWAYS bought gems and energy packs. But I didn't get a baron puppet last event no matter how many times I played get some people get 14 or more baron puppets. FOURTEEN!

I am currently in 20th place this time around, this company lost business over a puppet. Sure am glad they played hardball because it was that important for them not to give puppets! Ha!

Plus I dont need to rethink inventory over and over.)

There are two on my LB with decent herds but no one is off the charts with points. I?ve been in 1st or 2nd without trying this time. However, I?ve learned that this changes in heartbeat on the last day.

I?m too burnt from past LBs to get my hopes up or even try to stay on top, 3rd is the worst! Just hoping it is a fair matchup (spending wise etc) and it would be a pleasant surprise to win (like when I got the royal Lion).

This is one of the problems of being a long time, avid daily player - you'll eventually get to the point where you're maxed on most things. Don't get me wrong, I went ahead and crafted the new guy as soon as I saw him. Both because I like to collect things and regardless of anything in the game - I am always a fan of the artwork. Luckily, I had enough Troll Tokens stored to craft him as soon as I logged in so I just had to decide whether or not to complete the milestones.

In the end I've decided that yes, I will complete the milestones and get the other Maxotaur but beyond that I'm not doing much of anything. The completionist in me would like to have the LB Prize, but I was honestly more inspired to try to get those silly puppets in the last event than I am to get anything in this one. Weird and totally unlike me but true. I normally go bananas crafting Troll Tokens but there genuinely doesn't seem to be a point for me to do so anymore.

Maybe this is personal growth for me but I'm hoping not, lol. I want to be excited and tap-happy for the Hunt once more; so s8 why don't you help a player out and make the Hunts worthwhile again?

I think I have hit a weird skid in the game. With storing energy and without the free refills, I am beginning to not want to upgrade my wizard portal or craft another armoured direwolf. It really does take years to repay energy, more than I had originally calculated. And I happily burned through all my energy in the beginning of this MH. It was GREAT fun.

I am thinking ahead to the next event, going in without anything saved. Hmmm. I might max out on armoured lions (1 more to go) and then start saving again. Perhaps ironically, if I weren't on the cusp of having a permanent energy reserve (one Black Friday event away) I might well do the WP upgrade, second WP, upgrade that, and then go for all the armoured direwolves. I am taking to heart what more advanced players have been advising.

I also realised that for the armoured lions, it isn't about getting the energy back, but getting a decent (ok, semi-decent) : ) supply of trade tickets. They WILL drop 3 tickets once a week or so. Even keeping the trade post going 24/7 it takes a huge amount of time to create the resources for expansion. Eventually, I would like to see that building busy w crafting permits and supplied w trade tickets via drops rather than trades.

I am in transition in the game and feeling my way through. Has been lovely to be able to front load the MH and craft our Brave Defender of the Realm and Supplier of Feasts early on. (Edit add) And thank you to all advanced players giving tips and advice of all sorts, to me and others. : )

Right there with you..... the last sale with the FP alicorns for 100 gems, I didn't even bother. I am starting to rethink any time I see the prize is or may be an energy source, because after having skipped an event or two these past few months, I started this MH with over 17K energy. And I didn't start until this morning, because I had a weekend getaway with my husband and didn't want to be playing CS. So, while I am tempted to get the owl from the Baron's Tent this month, and the LB prize which will probably also be energy, part of me is meh about it.

That being said, I already have the 2 WP's and 4 AD's... but if I were to do it all over again I am not so sure I would.

I was trying to figure out why I am so happy about the armored maxatour, when I am usually near maxed on all meals except the sweet one which is at about 35 right now. I think it is because I bought the splendid table during one of the sales, and now I want to balance out the every-other-day collection with an alternate every-other-day collection. Once the sweet feasts catch up to the rest I am not sure what I will do lol.

Lol..I didn't even realise I could have gotten a second baron puppet. I did a couple adventures, got one on the first Adventure I sent out and was just happy I had received "it". 😂 I haven't had anything spectacular from it though..no cabbages at all... so don't feel too bad you missed out. When I crafted the cabbage hut, also in a MH where I wanted to keep slaying golems but was going to max out on gold tokens, I put it in overnight and gemmed the rest over coffee. : )

To share w all: spoke w my maths PhD hubby last night about the armoured direwolves and the wizard portals. His lateral thinking perspective on it was that with gold troll tokens at 50 gems each, two purchased gold tokens is equivalent to a daily alicorn on sale. The gem cost of 85 gold tokens is therefore the gem equivalent of 42.5 daily alicorns. The *energy* yield of a new WP is about two daily alicorns, fully upgraded two more. Not good gem value. Direwolves equivalent harder to calculate as my experience is is drops 20 energy almost exclusively for me and other players are luckier w that guy. One daily alicorn more than covers it for me. It is a lot easier to make a reduced price purchase with gems bought on sale. Ergo, the only reason to do the WP or armoured direwolf is for the fun of it. Fun is worth it, and it is subjective, whilst the maths bit is objective. One isn't better than the other.

When I have gazillions of energy saved, it might be inspiringly fun or feel pointless to craft them, impossible to tell from here. For now, after crafting our warrior who cooks feasts (great combo) and the rest of my allowed lions, I prefer to restock for trades and then save a bit of energy for the next event.

I will probably wind up crafting the allotment of flyers as well; the expansion permit drops are poor but still exist, and every little bit helps, as a supermarket ad here says. But I won't push for it, yet. : )

I really really hope we get a WW at the end of this as well!Fascinating. I guess I built the WP for fun plus I really like the look of them. And there isn't anything else that I want right now. I never equated gold tokens to gems because I would never use gems to buy a gold token. And for now I'm on the no more spending real money stance, (got mad at seemingly drop manipulation) I just do what I can and want.

I know what you mean.... I am at 2302 and holding. I would like to craft another 14 gold tokens before maxing but I'd rather wait until a few people pass me and leave me in the dust before trying for any more. I am starting to rethink any time I see the prize is or may be an energy source, because after having skipped an event or two these past few months, I started this MH with over 17K energy. And I didn't start until this morning, because I had a weekend getaway with my husband and didn't want to be playing CS. So, while I am tempted to get the owl from the Baron's Tent this month, and the LB prize which will probably also be energy, part of me is meh about it.

That being said, I already have the 2 WP's and 4 AD's... but if I were to do it all over again I am not so sure I would. You're not sure you would go for the direwolves at all or all 4 direwolves ? or even one of the portals?

Thanks all, I made an armored alicorn and may just wait on anything else. I’m not trying to be first or second on the LB; I keep finding myself in 6th with enough pending energy sources to get to first if I cash them all in. Two through five are all very close so I’ll probably make a decision in the last couple of hours.

I'd agree with going for the glimmer alicorn next.... as for choosing between the portals or the dire wolf, I don't remember which I got first but they may have come at different times so I probably got them in the order they came. I was against the dire wolves at first because I thought the cost was too high and the five days timer pi$$ed me off, I figured the math would never pay it back over the number of days I'd keep playing. But, when I ran out of things to craft and the tokens kept accumulating I eventually caved. Like I always do :)

From Purple Glimmer Golems. They give more staff than sword tokens.
The best thing about them is that they have a 'guaranteed spawn' from horses.
So you don't have to waste energy trying to spawn a monster.
They take about 40 energy to 'slay'.

I like the Dire Boars. They give you the staff and I kept getting black flags when I get the traps from quests. They only take 8 hits (actually less but it says 8) and the last hit you get all the items. Dire Boars also generally spawn pretty easily from mines, buildings and mushrooms as well as strawberries.

You do a Bronze Trade when you are close to max on Shield Tokens

plus I save the traps that are often given during events, they might not drop shield/sword tokens but can be used for WW monsters or in meeting the points needed to get the current event animal (if I don't have to use it during the event) In this event, if I am say 20 points from the 2300 need to get the Maxotaur and time is running out, I will pull a trap instead of spawning a huge energy sucker like the Purple Glimmer Golem

I've only gotten a monster trap once from adventuring that I can recall. But I am not doing a lot of higher level Adventures yet

I tried this once, back when LB was not tied with MH so it made no sense to go over 2300 points. I got 10 people on board, but 3 people either didn't read their walls or ignored the cooperation. They kept going even when 5 of us held 2300 steady for days. In the end the pact broke because of them.
Now since LB is tied to MH, it makes sense that some players will want to craft as many tokens as possible so it's impossible to come to an agreement.

It depends on how they got their points. Did they use boosts? Did they purchase an energy pack with points? Did they trade collections for points?
Back when I wanted to craft a ton of tokens for wizard's portals, armored dire wolves and other goodies, I went all out. I used no boosts, no collections etc., straight on one point for one hit. I had almost 35k points one hunt and crafted more than 500 tokens. That was when blue dire boars were unlimited. I think approx 70 points = 1 troll token (I usually managed to slay 3 blue boars with 70 hits or 50 energy). Now with only glimmer golems the tokens are so out of balance that 100 points or more will get 1 troll token (about 2.5 trolls or 75 energy).

The token drops must vary from player to player.

My purple golem gives tons of shield tokens (every hit and reward for slaying) and then sword and staff tokens when defeated. I am always short on staff tokens, as sword tokens are awarded for all 3 trades (the gold token trade hasn't awarded staff tokens most of this event for me). I'm guessing he rewards more sword than staff because the only monsters I'm fighting are the glimmer golem and dire boar once a day and I've got nearly 120 shield tokens over 50 sword tokens and 12 staff tokens pretty regularly.

If I fight 2 in a row, I usually need to do 2 of the lower trades and then finally have enough for the Gold token trade.

I think when they keep offering lackluster animals to craft in the MRC it gets a little easier to craft fewer tokens, especially if you're nearly maxed. Look at this MH, one new character and you can only craft one of them! Makes it easier to quit early and just try tying for the royal prize.

All previous events I have had a shortage of staff tokens. This one is flipped about and I'm short of swords. That's actually much more annoying.

I get the need for leaderboard events. S8 (and its shareholders) have to have some way of providing and ensuring enhanced game play for their big spenders. I'm not one, so would never expect to win. My spending is limited, in part because there's not a lot of point spending hugely on a game that often requires a greater time commitment than I can give. I bought some gems recently as I enjoyed the last couple of challenges so it felt worthwhile. But I could never spend the sort of money needed to win at something like this.

I also understand why they combine leaderboard events with MH. It gives casual players something to do while the spenders compete for top prizes. Personally I'm happy with chasing enough tokens for the feast dropper. I don't have any guaranteed feast drops, so he will be valuable to me. I started the event with 15 tokens in store and am 2 tokens away from being able to craft him and still break even.

I do find the events are getting dull though. We seem to have had a lot of hunt events recently. The mid range prizes aren't worth worrying for (I have enough trade certificates I'm making an expansion permit a day) and never change. And the lack of actual story bores me. When did we last have a story book event? What about some new storyline?

And it feels wasteful. The 'maxotaur' is a great creative idea - imagine him in a different event. We could be building a labyrinth or finding one, making crumbs for a trail and fighting off birds who eat them, then spinning yarn as a better idea... so much they could have done beyond "here's a new beast, let's **** it".

thought I was pretty much done, but then I double checked our incredible Inventory resource pages (thank you thank you SW and all who contribute to that!) and discovered that the armoured shadow wolf can drop trade tickets! D'oh! People who have them - are they worth it? They take up a lot of room and would need a dedicated expansion just for them.



I have 4 armored shadow wolves. No they don't drop trade tix very often. But I love their combo drops, they're like a level 10 trade post and thanks to them I'm always maxed on food item like apple pie, orange cobbler, etc. They also drop skunkupies which I appreciate since my elven bird always asks for them. Strangely I also appreciate the mushroom drops from them (8 mushroom combo) since I make earthen blocks and beams often and thanks to them (and the trade post) I never have to collect mushrooms. They also drop a gold nugget sometimes, although this is almost as rare as trade ticket.

They're way worse than a trade post though since they have a 22 hr timer.

Thankfully, it IS giving hit points, and I somehow managed to get to 2nd place on the LB (that has NEVER happened to me before, I'm always last) so I will just whack away at her and see if I can get more tokens in the last few hours.

I got my 4th Armoured Direwolf and have now "parked my troll" as I should manage to remain in my preferred 4th/5th/6th prize slot. I'll trade in all my made items as close to the end as I am awake for.

Ok, so this monster hunt and LB are over for me now. I'm max two hours away from having to go to sleep and I have neither enough time/energy to get enough gold tokens for another armoured alicorn nor to get ahead on the LB.
I was in second place for basically the whole time with no excessive effort put in (I had 1k energy stored at the start of the MH, and I purchased a boost twice, with gems from the MH trades). And now someone from far down the LB apparently decided they wanted the forest maxotaur and far surpassed me within maybe an hour. Good thing I wasn't very invested in getting the LB prize in the first place... We'll see where I've ended up when I wake up tomorrow morning.

Overall, I had a good MH and mostly ignored the LB. I crafted my second and third armoured alicorn in the MRC, as well as my first unicorn, so I'm pretty happy with those!

The chests aren't a physical item but rather they drop items like coins, gems, rotten cabbages, energy, LB points, etc. All of which get added directly to your totals, I don't think there are any items that go to the actual inventory for us to see. Also, you sometimes have to force a restart before you see the energy/coins added.

Last night I had crafted 6 swords, then started crafting 2 more overnight. I collected them this morning and started crafting 2 more. I just checked the number showing in points screen, and it only shows the same 6 as last night. I had to spawn the monsters to get enough tokens to craft them, so I know I did have the two crafting overnight. Has anyone else had this issue? I didn’t deliver them to get points for the LB. They had been crafted. Concerned about losing them.

I was so proud of myself, just four hours left to go and no accidental hitting of the "buy 12 energy for 20 gems" trap. During the last two MH i had hit it about 4-5 times, to the point that, out of frustration, i gave up the game for about a week. Tonight I lifted my eyes while battling a golem and gone were 20 gems. Hope you really enjoy them, Castle Story, you obviously need them much more than I do since you insist on carrying on like this. Honestly, add the confirmation button already, people have been begging for it for years. I can not imagine that such an important part of your revenue is from traps. I, for one, always think of this before buying gems. They just don't seem safe, I can lose them in a blink.

This was a really good MH for me. I got my last two Unicorns plus my glimmer alicorn. So now it's up in the air as to what I should craft next in the next Hunt. I suspect I may go for the remaining three Lions and then...who knows what. Maybe the Shadow wolves? Hmmm...decisions decisions.

This was a really good MH for me. I got my last two Unicorns plus my glimmer alicorn. So now it's up in the air as to what I should craft next in the next Hunt. I suspect I may go for the remaining three Lions and then...who knows what. Maybe the Shadow wolves? Hmmm...decisions decisions.
I wonder if we'll get WW this week. My kingdom is ready for it...like it was last week...:-/

i got all 4 of my armored ali and one uni. that will help me for future event. i went into this w/ about 800 energy saved. but now of course i wont have that wonderful cushioned going into this next event. i was happy to finally get to use my mrc.
and thank god for WW since all my energy went to beasts

My results from the one hour boost (less a few minutes at the start when it kept rolling back).

Beasts ****ed: 33 golems, 1 blue dire boar, 1 skunkupine.
Points from beasts: 3156
Total energy used: 1222 (so got about 22.5% of energy back)
Gems received: 8x1 gem (could have broke even if one of them was a 3 gem drop) :(
Gold tokens: 17

I've been mulling over including a new section (somewhere, maybe in the dedicated Hub thread) with player posts about what they should craft and posts like federerGOAT's that are not monster hunt specific. Time is my arch-nemesis!

Should also add that I sent the crafts after every 30 hits.
Tried it at 10 hits, but it was never ready, 20 hits, sometimes it was, sometimes it wasn't.

I had 81 of the 15 points craft and finished sending them all with plenty of time left.

They do drop energy every now and then and some other useful things like mithril more often. So the armoured bear is not entirely useless. But I agree that it's not as helpful as it could be.


Reminder for WW for those of us who crafted lions for 30 gold nuggets each - rock outcroppings can be smashed for chance of nuggets - I just went through 10 of them and will do another next round when my fruit trees are ready for harvest. I lucked out and got two nuggets. : )

Since I'm maxed on most things now (except stones and wood for some reason) I have started chopping rocks and trees each monster hunt to replenish my always depleting stock. Like you I have received quite a few gold nuggets that way. :)

I have a different take on it. I don't think of it as "only trade tickets". I think of it as "YAY! TRADE TICKETS". The milk/egg exchange, which I do most often, yields one trade ticket. That one trade ticket costs up to 65 energy. It is possible for the Forest Maxotaur to drop two trade tickets in the two collections per day. That makes him worth up to 130 energy per day. Shortdanzer reporters one drop of two trade tickets, so the yield could be even better. That makes me very happy.

The goal chests didn't contain energy crates or anything that would go into your inventory aside from the occasional Troll Tokens. They pretty much gave things like coins, energy and points which all get added to your totals.

I think energy crates start at rank 4 and below. That's why someone said Rank 3 is the worst place to be since you only get a few trade tickets, no grand prize and no energy crate ;)

For those still confused on the milestone chest rewards that auto-open: The 4th milestone gives 1 chest so the pop up would only show 1 item, the 6th milestone gives 2 chests so you could 1 or 2 items shown depending on duplicates, and the 8th gives 3 chests so you could get up to 3 different items. Sometimes for the 6th and 8th milestones, you may only see 1 item on the pop up such as coins - when this happens, it means that all three of the chests contained the same item. Instead of showing three different cards all showing the same item, the game automatically adds them up and puts the total on one card.

As you can see, my 8th milestone prize only showed two cards but three chests which means that two chests must've contained the same prize: either coins that added up to $10,000 total or energy that added up to 10 total. For the most part, we receive items that don't go to our inventories like Coins, LB Points, Rotten Cabbages, and Energy all of which get added directly to our totals (sometimes after having to force synce the game).

when i **** a golem, it had been dropping shield tokens the whole time and when i **** the golem it drops like 10 of sword and 15 staff tokens. for me. add that up when you do the gold trade & it only uses up 25 of the staff, i max out.

Closer to the end of the Hunt I ended up with almost maxed staff tokens and never enough sword tokens, which was very vexing to me. Thankfully, at some time before the Hunt ended it flipped back to me having more swords than staff.

Btw...all I keep getting from the regular Max is bacon and coal. Harrumph.... :mad:

He just dropped bacon and iron ore for me this time. I say throw him in with the animals...the meat eating ones though. He can protect them with his rocks and sword and feed them with the bacon. Just don't put him near the pigs though...you'd be likely to have civil unrest if you did.

Basically you just have to have a lot more energy sources than you expend in maintaining your kingdom. You can go over the cap but by doing so you forfeit the energy refill. Older kingdoms have more resources generally, so it's easier to start saving energy. Hope that helps! :)
