Goal Information

Complete the Press Your Luck event to welcome Liam the Leprechaun to your realm.

Special Notes for this event:
You can purchase the Gold Digger Gnome for 400 gems in the market. He will boost event drops of Emerald Clover, Golden Clover, Fools Gold, and Rainbow Thread. He also has the chance to drop Rotten Cabbages for the Baron’s Tent. Limited sale for 200gems.
Official drops: Rotten Cabbage (rare), Wood, Living Wood, Earth Wisp, Glimmerdust, Coins. These drops are both during the event, and will continue after.

** This questline requires the Tailor for some crafts. **
You must have completed Goal 2 in “A Swift Tailor” to unlock the Tailor.

There must be a limit of 7 on the Clover Trees as I couldn't buy more than that (1-1/2 hour wait time between collections).

apparently we are going to rescue an emerald gnome, summon a leprechaun. all done within the lucky lair building.
so the walls were really expensive and the gate super cheap

Do you have a lot of walkers out? Do you have apps running in the background when you play?(like email) Do you have Location Services enabled when you play? Do you have notifications for other apps turned on when you play? Not only do these drain processor power, the other apps can interfere with your game when they send something to your device during gameplay. My resets went way way down when I disabled everything else. For example, I had multiple resets yesterday & day before, but that was because I hadn't disabled Government Alerts & we had multiple ones (Blizzard, High Wind, Winter Storm) from Winter Storm Ulmer.

I wish they would give us an event that could happen without resets and disappearing items. That would be great. I would happily give S8 my money if there was even a chance that I could finish without them sabotaging me.

I always have every single thing closed or turned off when I play this game. CS is the only game that does this. That tells me the problem is with THEM, not me .

I lost my walls and gates also, the wall goal is checked off but not the gate! The game keeps resetting and I'm sure we lost our coins too! Does S8 ever try these quests before sending them out? Also, why so many different and difficult story lines going on at one time?

For those that lost walls and gates but the goal is still completed, I'm wondering why you keep purchasing more?

As far as I can tell it was only a goal to make us use coins. So far they aren't needed for anything. I'd move on in the goal and contact S8 to have them restored.

So the limit on the Emerald Clovers is 99. If you get the value pack, you get 100 Emerald Clovers. So then you can't use the unlimited energy to chop clovers and get more Emerald Clovers? Can anyone verify if we can have more than 99 Emerald Clovers?
But the limit on the Golden Clover is 99 - those come from the trees you purchase that drop every 90 minutes and you don't need near as many.
It seems like those maximum numbers should be reveresed?

i'm on an iPad Pro. 4gb RAM and 512gb Internal Memory.

I've worked with developers when a game had crashing (memory loss issues). I rarely have crash or reset issues and advise Apple device users who frequently crash to clear their RAM.

Oddly enough, Castle Story is the ONLY game that I experience resetting.

The next goal is to chop a rock outcropping and make a lucky block. I?m getting a good drop rate on the emerald clover; maybe it is supposed to be 99. I?d make 2 beams to use some of the stored emerald clover, chop some Giant clover to get back to 99, and spend the rest of the 15 minutes chopping willows and rock outcroppings, imo.

I really liked those lucky walls, so I tried to build a little area with the house and walls and clover. But the game is being ridiculously slow and just keeps resetting. I tried three times to put down walls and clover. I would finish and then the game would immediately reset. It took me like 10 minutes every time because of how slow the game was being and then poof, gone! Ironically, the only thing that DIDN'T reset the last time was two ugly towers I bought by mistakes. I tried to buy a lucky wall, but the game was on this weird delay so when I pressed the lucky wall the game decided that I should go forward and I ended up getting a totally different thing. They cost me gems. So now I have no gems, the ugly towers, but all the work I put down building my little corner has vanished. I am feeling so **** disappointed right now. So the game remember stuff I bought for gems but reset everything else?? And I was so enthusiastic about the estethic of this event :/ This really put me off playing.

I have never been able to put out walls and paths like other people, lol. The editor crashes or the game crashes or the game throws everything back into the bank within a few minutes. I got a brand new android phone and still have the problem. So my board has zero walls, gates and paths, a minimum of buildings, and no deco items. :-(

For the quest I bought 1 gate and 1 wall. It almost choked but decided to allow it.

Do you have notifications for other apps turned on when you play? Not only do these drain processor power, the other apps can interfere with your game when they send something to your device during gameplay. My resets went way way down when I disabled everything else. For example, I had multiple resets yesterday & day before, but that was because I hadn't disabled Government Alerts & we had multiple ones (Blizzard, High Wind, Winter Storm) from Winter Storm Ulmer.

I think it is not a problem of the device but it seems storm8s servers drop connections. Because those connection problems which cause the game reloads also occur in their other games right now.

After crafting 2 towers, you'll need to collect from the sparking mine. Make sure you have NO MONSTER on your board so you can spawn a leprechaun to fight. DO NOT fight it until th next goal tells you to do so.

I think the problem may be with the walls!

I put up the gate and clear that set of tasks without the walls and the game records my progress and allows me to continue. But as soon as I add the walls, the game resets and removes the walls.

I’ve tested it on two accounts now. If I put up the walls, everything I do after that resets to before the building of the walls. But if I put up other things and then the walls, the game will reset but only remove the walls. Can anyone else confirm this.

It seems that the reset is only occurring when I buy more than one wall each time. If I buy and place one wall, then tap the ‘X’, that wall stays and there is no reset. But as soon as I buy and place two or more in a single purchase, the reset occurs :p

I'm having a tough time keeping my Lucky Walls and Lucky Gates. I get to keep the credit for purchasing them through every reset of the game, but they just disappear. I've repurchased them four times now. Fortunately, I'm still able to keep the big clovers.

Wow! I had that problem too and thought that it was just resetting which it doesn't normally do. First time, I thought I had accidentally stored it as I was moving things around to make space. Bought another couple and they disappeared. Tried again and deliberately stored one in case it had been placed further back in storage. No. Just the one I stored.

you don't make the stuff in the lucky lair. you make it in your workshops. that might be what is wrong. if not....

can you show a screen shot? have you placed trees and harvested from them? & chopped giant clovers? without those materials, you can't make anything.

I am on the part that says ?make lucky beams? but when I go to the workshop it says ?Locked by goal?. Anyone know what I am missing?

Are you going to the workshop by pressing GO in the goal? Sometimes this can work, if going directly to the workshop isn't working.

Yes I tried both ways. The only other goal I didn?t do was buy the gold digger but I know that it?s not needed to move on.

Yes, you definitely don't need that to progress (thankfully!). I am guessing you have tried all the standard force closes/restarts/reinstalls etc. If none of that fixes it, it sounds like you will need to contact support (see https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?95236-ANNOUNCEMENT-Contacting-Storm8-Support )

I think S8 is saying: Don't sweat an untimed storyline. : ) That is what I choose to hear anyway. As long as I am inventing it (and I don't have a batman red phone hook up to S8) I may as well say what pleases me. : )
I thought about starting part two of the hidden forest yesterday, but then I decided to wait and see if anything happened today, just in case... And I'm very happy with that decision now! :)

But the timed goal prizes for the hidden forest don't seem to be worth trying hard for anyway. As far as I can tell they're just uglier versions of existing buildings.

A general tip for frequent resets

Whenever my game resets a couple of times in a row, I do the following:
I do one thing in my queendom (ie. collect or put out one thing) and then force my game to sync to the server by visiting a neighbour/someone. Then I go back to my queendom, and do another couple of things (like 2-4 collections, etc), and then force my game to sync again. After I go back home for the second time, the resetting issue has stopped and I can play normally.

I don't know if this will work for you, but it has solved the issue for me every time I've tried it so far. But I can't vouch for it with today's wall issue because I didn't encounter any resets today (I only put out one wall though).

Fifth time I've bought the walls. I hope they stay.

Ive been having this problem with all walls and gates lately, id say at least a week. I thought it was mentioned as a bug so was waiting it out but I could be wrong

lucky tower has a 4 hour timer on it?? you may not want to store it after building them in your workshop like i did as their drops may be needed. not sure what the drop is yet

This is my experience also. Most definitely not worth the gems. If it is supposed to increase drops, it doesn't. Didn't receive any clovers from the 7 clover trees I have. Third collection from him was 329 coins and one wood. Not even living.

Have you contacted S8? I had the same issue and contacted them, still waiting for a response!

I'm thinking again this has something to do with the royal points just like the buildings we keep having to put out for expansions! Come on, S8, it's time to get this fixed. Just count the royal points we have in storage too!

This event is revealing to be an energy hog and super monotonous with crafting blocks and beams over and over again. This is looking more and more similar to the Moothraki event last year that I almost died of boredom. The difference is there's a weekend warrior in the middle of the Moothraki one.

We'll have to craft 2 gnomes. Then, let me guess, we'll craft 2 gnome pots (grayed out in the market) which will need a ton of blocks and beams. Then we'll make leprechaun clothes (grayed out in the tailor) which require 5 rainbow dusts. Yeah, more blocks and beams.

Only 2 crafts in the Lucky Lair:
Something called an Emerald Gnome and the 2nd craft is to summon Liam the Leprechaun. Another walker....smh!

There's also a leprechaun suit & hat at the Tailors so if we need to craft these for Liam, a walker....I'm gonna be out!

Second photo on page 1 does say something about a rainbow cloud that drops energy. Don't know where that comes in tho.

Lucky towers don't fit with the walls or gates. @wishtheywerereal was wondering whether this would be bug or design. They take after the Woodland Towers which don't fit either, so, I am afraid it's design. 🙄

Someone said this event remined them of the event with the Mothraki warrier so I went and looked up that old thread. Goals 1 - 9 appear to be pretty much the same as these apart from different names for stuff (and the awful different requirements for some players thing they did that time), it even had a similar "gem item will help drops" thing. So it seems likely that the rest to the goals will probably follow the same pattern.

How do I go about getting my money back? I just purchased the value pack and the game glitched twice, putting all the rocks and clover back. I even got more in the middle and NONE OF THAT was there after it glitched the first time. It reset everything. Except the time on the clock that is. I chopped over 40 rock outcropping and 60 giant clover. I was left with 268 fools gold. 120 of that was from the pack! And 229 clover! That's it from 15 minutes. I'm really annoyed.

Sorry this happened to you! You need to open a ticket with S8 to tell them what happened. Explain it in full detail so that they may respond with an answer and not questions. They’re not going to respond, however, until a weekday, but get your ticket in que by sending it ASAP. They will respond and probably on Monday. Good luck!

That's a really good question. I would think we should be harvesting it somewhere. From magical rainbows conjured up by Ivy or Greselda, maybe? 🤔 I'm sure many players & posters here could come up with much better goal requirements than what we're dealing with here.🙄

All the crafts require the beams and blocks in some way which is ridiculous from any angle you look at it - from the story aspect to expecting us to enjoy it. I was planning on crafting more Emerald Gnomes before the event ended but I'm already getting burnt out on chopping and crafting. It's far more likely I'll end up ignoring the game entirely once I finish this event... at least until the next one, lol.

Im seriously fed up with all the chopping and beam and block building and such. Now I find out theres more of the same. And we didnt need this event to run the same time as part 2 of the hidden forest which has its own problems with the horrible drops on the willow trees. Too much chopping for little reward. Ive got so much extra stuff on my board I cant stand it anymore. Im going to sit the rest of this one out and slog away at part 2 only for the land expansions. Watch it not let me store all of this stuff like those ugly chocolate rocks from the candy event. They should allow us to delete things we no longer want. I have tons of stuff in my inventory I would unload to make it easier to find the things I like.

It seems that I'm permanently stuck on this step as well. I have no idea what kind of energy the storm cloud drops while I know the little gold pot gnome drops either 1000+ or 2000+ coins or a gold item (gold nugget, egg, or apple) every 5 hours. He's a gold mine! Every time I accumulate 3 blocks and beams I'd rather craft more gold pots than rainbow dusts lol

Slight amendment for Goal 10 on page 1. You need to collect three rainbow threads (not 1). Drop rate of threads seems lowish. From the five fawnicorns my drops were - 2 x coins only, 1 x coins and a mushroom, 1 x coins and boue petal, 1 x rainbow thread. So make sure you buy all 5 allowed fawnicorns. Timer is 4 hours.

I can see why people are excited about the Pot of Gold/Emerald Gnome drops ... but I thought the ultimate goal of this event isn't so much the walker ... it's his "magical Rainbow Cloud" which drops energy?

In my 2 kingdoms I collected from 3 pot of gold gnomes and received only coins from each. Hopefully I get some actual gold next collection and I have 4 to collect from now also.

I'm doing this event in both of my kingdoms for the rainbow cloud thing that will be an energy dropper, but I am tempted to craft more gold digger gnomes if they actually drop me some gold along the way, lol.

I?m glad to hear that folks are getting gold from their pots of gold. I bought a troll thief a while back who is supposed to drop nuggets and only did for the first week I had him :-(. Hopefully these pots drop nuggets.

I am concerned that I may not finish the event, but knowing that we can save our blocks and beams (and if we don?t have enough time to get all of the rainbow dust etc to finish), then at worst, I can trade them in for more pots of gold.

This is where I'm at too. I've working pretty steadily at it but it'll take me another day (at least) to get the second emerald gnome done. I'm not panicking though (yet! :-) ) During last year's Mothraki event I thought it was quite unlikely that I'd finish but I managed to make it with 1/2 day or so to spare. And I have a couple more energy animals now than I did back then, so in theory... well, I guess I'll see.

Anyway, getting to make something that drops gold items is pretty awesome and I should definitely get that far.

I'm at the same stage and also don't want a second gnome.

Though I must admit, personally, I do not feel like I have been working hard, as I do have a lot of energy. I am not looking ahead or trying to work out if I can finish - just playing at a rate that works for me, which is how I do some events. And if I don't finish, then for me that is okay too.

Looking at ShibuyaCloth's table of energy use (Here: https://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?107927&p=1569066&viewfull=1#post1569066), based on 13 days from start to finish, if you get your second gnome finished by Wednesday evening (US time) you are on track. Six days for two towers and two gnomes, and then 7 days for two pots of gold plus Liam. I have one gnome and one rainbow pot towards the second one. No guarantees, but but it's looking doable for me.

Update - right after I posted, game reset. I collected from fawnicorn again and guess what? Rainbow thread! Probably one of the few times a game reset helped. Now I hope the fawn continues to drop the thread.

The Tailor crafting building and the Spinning Wheel (also a crafting building) are from a separate main story that is currently running. Perhaps you haven't started A Swift Tailor? Check your goal book and the link is in a sticky thread.

Sorry, Think you might be confusing Lucky Coins (from SpMines & SawMills) with the Golden Clover (from Clover Tree)

Bottom line: craft all the pots we want before completing? Or am I confusing the different types of clover drops?

To be on the safe side, I will craft the suits and then do pots until I feel full up w them, or there are only two days left, whatever comes first.

One of the previous events, something like fairly perfect faerie wedding, had random prizes in the daily chests that would drop over 1k in coins, and many were upset to not get them. We have also been asking for more coin droppers given the high costs for expansions. This is a great chance to create cash flow on our boards.

In my kingdom that has finished the event, all crafts remain except summoning Liam. I haven't tried to spawn a gnome from my sparkling mines or sawmills. You only need these to craft the rainbow dust which you use to make "save the emerald gnome" and the Leprechaun suit. To make more of the gold digger gnome, you need blocks and beams (made with the gold clover from the trees) and rainbow thread from the fawns.

I am so upset, I had no idea the ‘A swift tailor ‘ was a connected thread, and in fact, a totally dependant thread!! Why didn’t S8 just run this as one thread, as now I don’t think I’ll be able to finish Press your luck cos I can’t get the suit. Gutted ��

I made six and then stopped to make rainbow dusts. How about we have a friendly competition to see who can make more? Everyone is welcome to join, unless your name is Puffhausen (because you automatically win lol)

It won't show to buy until you reach Goal 3 in the Swift Tailor goal line in your goal book.
It doesn't take long to get there, see the sticky thread below this thread.

You have to follow the questline "A swift Tailor" to buy the building. You can collect your birthday goat, pumpkin goat and ornery goat for silks while waiting for the black goat.

Seems unreal doesn't it? These goals almost seem like punishment.
We are spending over 3000 energy to get something that drops 4 energy a day, 3 after the energy used to collect it.
Maybe I'm missing something
