Anyone knows how do we know our food can stand how long on a normal cooking appliance before it ruins? Is it depending on the time we cook? Is it the cooking time = time to expire?

I think it is however long it took for the item to cook.

Sehana is right. If an item took 2 hours to cook, it can stay more 2 hours on the appliance until it spoils. However, once the food is placed on the serving tables, it will never spoil. 

Wait a sec, i don't think that this is right because something like french toast or brownies won't expire one minute after you cook them right?

Yeah, I've never understood that one. I think the above rule starts at 30 minute recipes, but not sure.
