How do the free gift videos work?

My boyfriend and I each play dragon story, but he has the ability to watch videos for prizes and I...don't. Is this an iOS vs android thing? Or just some sort of a glitch?

I find it comes and goes, my daughter has it constant in her game I had it for a week then it disappeared for 2 weeks then it came back for a few days and left as soon as the tournament started even though I still had videos to watch.

It works on both Android and iOS I use both.

Even though I don't get videos as much I find that my game always has a gold sale (not that I use it) and her game doesn't so much.
