I will be doing both the main and side goals. Bakery and Restaurant Story are two of my favorite games and I’m glad they’re still going instead of being dropped off like some of the other Storm8 games have been. At first I hated this new format but I’ve adjusted and it doesn’t change too much from how I was playing.

I am a little curious why the side goals on RS drop collectible parts but the BS one doesn’t.

Alas, it seems like the parts are coming from the special oven rather than the basic. So I'm starting one, storing the oven, then going back into my goal to hit the "buy oven" button rather than scrolling through a long slew of unsorted ovens to find the right one to take back out. Whee.

Yeah, I much preferred getting parts from the basic ovens I've already built. I do love collecting extra parts for later, but please please let us buy them directly rather than click till our fingers fall of and our brains fall out (I supplicate the void, as the devs may be hard of hearing). I'm not a fan of the Bowling theme, especially since we've already got bowling items that I never display. The artwork is nice enough, it's just that I've no use for it. I'll stick it out though because I've never skipped a main goal and I'm not about to start now!

My one item related complaint is that the SG Prize has nothing to do with the Main Goal theme in any way. While I think it's worthy of the 'prize' label despite being a regular market item, it probably should've been saved for a future event that it was more compatible with.

Regarding the goal layout, I've become accustomed to it and know that I can complete it within the 15 days given so I plan to play as usual. That doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate a secondary way to gain free collectibles s8! Same sentiment applies to the Side Goal: I'd finish it despite already owning the prize but only if the recipes helped toward getting parts.

I miss the Bakery Story of a few years ago so much! Honestly I would much rather have Bakery Story be a paid app and go back to the old format. I would rather pay a few bucks up front to purchase an app then being pressured to by gems all the time. I used to do this game to relax, but the goals are not fun. Is it possible to complete these goals in 15 days? Sure it is but just because it is technically possible doesn’t mean it’s fun. It seriously feels like Storm8 actually wants people to be unhappy.

Today I wrote on my wall that I won't be doing this goal (not actually having fun, just finished the last goal with much stress, I have things going on on my real life like job and school) and asked to just send me basic parts if they can and offered myself to help them. No one seems to have read my wall except one neighbour that she too sent me a goal part and then said "I will send you a basic part tomorrow, I am not doing this goal either".
So... I think I will stop too, cause it feels like following a crowd going really nowhere! :(

Like to bowl but also would have loved fall themed stuff. Last time goal here couldnt get collectables, hated goal. RS was same type but gave alot of collectables.
Anyone notice here the side goal foods are 4hrs or 6hrs and costly so Wont be able to collect the jars without waiting hrs or paying Alot And thats If they give you 1 total part per cooked item! I am losing nbrs playing too.

Well I like that we can get parts through collectables. It just costs me like a million coins for each goal. And I dont have time to make the food I need to make to recoup the coins. I finish the goals in about 8 days.. but then trying to help my neighbors is challenging. The waiting for each bakery to load and wall messages to load, gifts to send, etc.
Makes the fun of it go our the window. It takes me many hours just to visit and gift everyone. And mass gifting is really not helpful after the first 4 days of a goal. I'm wondering if anything can be done about the new slowness of the game?

You need to cancel the current recipe then start a different one. You can't cancel then try to cook the same recipe that it's already cooking.

I need to know how to get a message to the developers. Amongst my friends and neighbors, the consensus is that the number of elements required to build the appliances is way too high. We do like the idea of being able to earn elements, but requiring 40 or more for one appliance is way too many. Not all of us can afford a never-ending supply of gems with which to purchase parts. I have several friends who are quitting the game or taking a break from it. I love this game, and the people I’ve met, but the game is no longer fun when goals are set up to fail. Is there any way to let the powers-that-be that we’d really like to either go back to the old way, or to modify the new one so we can achieve the goals?

Everyone has 'real life' to deal with. Regardless of your age, stage in life or level of happiness and satisfaction it's mostly the same routine every day. It has to be or chaos will move in and run amuck LOL

So isn't that why we play these games? A little excitement? A little fun? Something different from 'real life'? Be adventurous! Throw caution to the wind! Take a chance and try something different! If you succeed then great! If you don't no big deal.

At the end of the day it's just a bit of fun with a cartoon game. Right?

I really don?t like the new collectibles way of building ovens. It takes days to build ovens and even the last 5 day goal was ridiculously long. First time I actually didn?t complete the goal as I ran out of time. Besides that I have been having issues with my game for some time. Every time I open the game and it decides it wants to open something else (messages, daily money, etc) I get the little window that says processing and the game freezes up. I have to close the game and reopen it. It happens almost every time I go into it. It?s ridiculous!! Also ridiculous to start a new goal the same day one ended, not giving people a chance to take a breather!!

But thanks for posting all of the steps to this goal.....there?s a lot but at least we know what they are!

I agree. If games were not challenging, then what would be the point in having these apps? If I just wanted a boring game, I would download jigsaw puzzles.

The only place I have seen people complaining about the new goal format is here on the forums. None of my 60 neighbors seem to be upset. Most of them are playing these new goals and I receive a bunch of requests all day.

I understand that it can be frustrating to play for some, especially if they have grown attached. But if it were me, I would either quit or play just to decorate and move stuff around every season. But that?s just me.

But I mean, everyone has a right to voice their opinion, positive or negative.

The recipes look silly and bowling doesn?t exactly shout mid september to me.

There was the needing oven element for everything phase.

Plus my least favorite, the take two days to begin because you need to ask neighbors for 9 parts and it took forever to get them.

Okay I initially complained about how boring it is to cook only two things but you're right, I had to pull out so many extra counters during the last goal because of the various recipes. So I guess it is a good thing in this sense!

It's a wall decoration so it takes up one wall space. Same amount of space as any other wall decoration.

S8 has recently changed the goal format. The change really only effected the amount of parts needed per goal oven and that we can now get extra parts by trading limited time collectibles. I'm starting one, storing the oven, then going back into my goal to hit the "buy oven" button rather than scrolling through a long slew of unsorted ovens to find the right one to take back out. Whee.

Ok, I've discovered what should've been an obvious flaw in my plan--I accidentally spent gems to skip the third oven that I'm going to have to buy anyway in order to finish the goal. Sheesh.

Also, I really appreciate that they are making us cook just 2 recipes through the whole side goal. I only have to use up 2 counters which frees up more space than with previous side goals.

Good point; I hadn't thought of that. I like having the same two recipes throughout because it allows me to chain cook buckets of them without having to come back to the forums to start all over the tiresome process of calculating, shuffling, and scouring ovens to find the new recipes.

If we keep getting these amounts of parts needed for the goals i quit this game.Changing recipes to get extra parts is taking way too much time.
Its getting very boring and i really hope they make it more fun again.I have lots of neighbours saying the same

When you only have one recipe you put back the oven in stock...get it out and start recipe again...keep repeating this till second recipe then you can switch between recipes

agree 100% I was so excited at first because I have a skeeball and the foosbal table but it looks ridiculous next to them.......Storm8 is it possible to make it a bit bigger?

I AM LOSING Long time players. And the cost of 940 to Start then Dump Is Too Expensive especially when may not even get a single jar!!!
Also realized that there is different amounts in each of the 4 so if you collect all possible, the left over jars will revert to smallest amounts in each so you will Lose the additional ones!!! Make sure to always leave at least 1 complete set!!!!
If I dont finish this without spending Tons I Will not play another unless major changes are made. I am getting less and less collectables when cooking so Why pay and dump. HELP S8!!! Love this game!!

1 More Item, I Get 000 Free gems so unless get them thru cooking I have to buy them. No problem using them for extensions, more ovens, etc. BUT will not pay real money just to get a food item finished faster, Etc.!!!!

Not happy with the new way of doing goals. I am a long time player and I havent been able to finish anything past the 1st appliance. I am just way too busy in my life to be glued to my phone. The parts are just too many. So we will see how much longer I will last.

I am almost at the final part of this goal, wrapping up my 7/10 splits. Have to say this go around went a lot smoother than the last goal - when all these changes were first introduced. I hate to say it, but I don't mind the new structure.

-They removed the requirement of asking for parts from the get go.
-they provide 2 free ovens.
-I like that i don't have to depend on my neighbors for parts as much. And I have just been cooking items from the first oven to keep getting collectible parts. I don't understand why people would start a recipe and cancel just to get parts, I don't play 24/7 and have not have to do that yet. I also have not spent gems to complete the goal.
-I actually have 40+ of each of the 4 parts in storage and have been able to build 3 of each ovens.
-I like that the recipe times are longer towards the end, that way i can cook while at work with minimum interruptions.

I guess it depends on everyone what level they want to play, obviously if you are checking your game every 36 hours, i do not think you will be finishing the goals within a reasonable amount of time.

I think next goal I’m skipping it. The prize isn’t great and there’s too many parts involve. The recipes here are always expensive.

Agreed. I don't mind getting decos that have a smaller footprint but the scale is just way off. It's meant to be an arcade game and the market photo led me to believe it would be similar in shape and size to the Donut Arcade but it is way tinier. I don't own the Donut Arcade (sad face) so I put it next to a standard sized character 'Helpful Loretta', a standard sized dog 'Spooky Puppy', and the only other 1x1 game-type deco I could think of in my inventory, the "Love Game."

When lined up, it's obvious that the scaling is wrong, the new Bowling Arcade seems to be at half scale of the standard items in our bakeries. This item will be relegated to my inventory until this is adjusted. I might've considered placing it when I do a carnival/fun fair theme but it would look ridiculous with my other items so it's a hard pass.

I agree with you 100%. I finished this goal earlier this evening. I didn?t use gems or dumped any food. I like the new format. It?s actually a challenge and that?s more fun for me.

Update:

They are unable to share if parts will drop from future side goal recipes since Storm8 does not speculate.

However they did confirm that should it be available in the future, players would be notified in-game via announcement or hint/quest text.

What level are you, if you don't mind answering. I'm pretty sure at some point I've seen that you have to be a certain level to access the Side Goals.

I'll see if I can find the discussion I'm thinking of and link it here but I want to say it was level 33 before the Side Goals would activate. Don't take that level as a certainty, that's just what's popping into my mind right now and is my first thought.

At least the camping theme you can use if you have a garden for your bakery. But Bowling is totally irrelevant.

Always been a problem with size, can't remember which goal but had to buy a mixer, was smaller than a flea! everything else had to buy was massive in comparison...solution? gnomes! teeny tiny gnomes playing pinball, bowling their l'il hearts out, maybe even massive dartboard & tiny gnome with oversized dart 😂

HI everyone, my 2 cents! The arcade was just puny. The other prize prize was oversized and looked more like a baby's crib than anything??? I would have been fine getting neither. The main prize was good but again not worth all the hassle of so many parts needed Etc.
How can anybody say you don't need neighbors when you need 72 parts per oven, that doesn't even make sense. All it takes is nbrs gftg wrong goal item!!! So far 4 long term nbrs have stopped playing and more skipping goal. I also plan on skipping goal if same as this 1 was. I have left 110 of 1 type, 53 another of collectibles so basically half worthless and will vanish tomorrow!!! SO NOT FUN!!!!
S8 Please listen and at least make getting collectibles easier sgain!!!

Thanks for the heads up! I've stored mine for now but at least I know that it's a viable option for displays in the future and is no longer a deco to be written-off. Thank you s8 for adjusting this issue.
