The same with me. Guess I'll quit World Event from now on.

Heck, last time I barely got the 2nd dragon because breeding a common was difficult to get.

I’ve already given up on World Events. On this occasion my food supply makes it totally impossible to compete.

I’m level 194

My Chapter 2, Act 3 is showing Collect Onyx Feathers from Breeding 0/3.
Hmmm......

Update: I just took off an egg with a 13-hour timer and it let me satisfy the 0/3 requirement.

Obviously no point me starting with only 53k. LOLOL

I read a post earlier today re Leaderboard which mentioned it cost 500k of food to get them to Dragon winning levels and - wait for it - this left them with only 1 million food left.

I have NEVER managed to amass more than 350k food and this involved not participating in Tales Event. Can someone please tell me how I go about getting 1500000 food and still raise a decent tournament winning team. Does it mean I have to stop all food hungry Events for 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 12 weeks???

You get the black feathers from taking from the den to the nest or selling it not taking an egg off the nest, hope this helps!

Hi

I didn?t know if it meant I had to breed 3 times or get at least 3 feathers from my breeding. It was the latter.

Thanks

I almost only feed tales dragons and during leaderboards. Most of my dragons will remain at level 5 or 7. This and going for the best yielding crops has slowly helped me build up a pile. Not enough to win leaderboards, but enough to get to the last milestone and complete every tale

I started with 2700 food on Thursday but now I'm at 132000. Keeping the land side of the mine open and smart evolving/breeding helps out a lot with food. Plus I send my Magic Dragon on food quests until I need to do quests for the Tales. Bingo and food finished from Leaderboards can also help.
From the battle side: Tournaments are always going on during the Tales. If the tournament starts before chapter 5, finish it as soon as possible so that you won't have to use the second dragon in tourney battles as, more than likely, it's a weak dragon. If the tournament starts on chapter 6 or later, do the tournament slowly so the second dragon can have easy battles. With the battles, however, use the color (element) chart on the tournament thread to determine whether that dragon will be good against the opponent or not. If your dragon isn't then use another dragon to beat the opponent until you get one you know you'll beat. Too many times I see the same complaints about how the second dragon can't fight its way out of a paper bag when, all along, some are using that dragon against the wrong opponents. The battle chart is your best friend on chapters 8 and 9.

I've been playing for years and have amassed over 2mil apples. But I had to give up on leaderboards and world events. I only play Bingo at silver league level.

During leaderboard events, I'll keep my nests busy with Water and Light. And breed according to Bingo's requirements, then sell the dragons off once they hatch or I'll evolve to level 4 and trade them if they are rare and higher. Was pleasantly surprised when I actually won the dragons a couple of times.

Same for world events and I'll try to plant Diamondates 2 times during daytime and Eliteleeks at night. So far only won the last world event with the new rules.

And I've only 10 dragons that are level 15 and they are all relatively good fighters for tournament. Most of the dragons from tales that I've evolved to level 14 had been good fighters too! Then again I also don't participate in all tournaments only those with dragons that I like.

At the end of the day, you have to decide how to enjoy the game and don't be too stress about missing out on the new dragons.

I usually plant diamond dates during the night - eliteleeks yields less.

Of course, that?s why they do these things to make $...otherwise they?d give us reasonable things. At least with Castle Story they give us surveys if you start the quests....the last one I blasted it as giving us nearly impossible things.... these I usually do, but I skip the battles... normally they run the 30 gems to get thru them. Now to try to breed that one.

A million food....gosh sounds dreamy to me...hey even the 500k sounds like. A dream. Well I suppose if I ne er raised a dragon past 6 except the quest ones, might get more that about 325-350...

Wish we had 1000 like in the ice age section....why did n the normal size 800 is the most. I think I?m no longer raising any dragons beyond 4 unless art of the quest....still think if S8 is going to ask for high food they should give is the same food as the ice side

Of course they cater to those that spend...that seems to be all they think about any more is getting more money...they are actually taking all the fun out of the game, but they don?t listen to our complaints!

I agree
Re Farming - I too Plant overnight etc with most expensive crops - but to play events that require 164k to raise a common dragon to L13 means I can’t raise Super & Ultra Rares for battles. Guess it’s a choice - battles or Tales. Given my dismal luck in breeding the Tales common dragon, my choice is to play Tales to L5 only and then concentrate on growing food to raise level of the fighting troupe.

Whatever - I’m taking a break for a while as my enthusiasm is diminishing rapidly. Event after event - similar formats - rarely any change.

I’m with Shewolf 1953 - This game used to be exciting - now it’s a money grab. Serious players are already committed to 100 gold a week for second Den. Then there’s the occasional spend to speed up, or the Dragon on sale you’ve been trying to breed for months and months. This is fair enough. Now though it is almost impossible to complete Tales or Leaderboards or World Events without spending over and above our normal commitment.

Most discouraging aspect theses days is the constant crashing and roll backs. Visiting high level neighbours is a nightmare.

Oh for the days we paid our $100 up front to buy a game that was ours for life!

I don't think I will be able to finish this Dragon Tales event. I am on Chapter 7 and had to breed my Dusky Lory Dragon so I chose a green/black dragon to breed with for an attempt at the Neo Virgo Dragon. What do I get? A 44 hour Diamond Dragon! After that is done, I will have to breed the Dusky Lory with the Green Quetzal in Chapter 8 which means I won't likely get enough material to craft the remaining items for the Tales. I am happy for the Diamond Dragon though my luck really sucks lately with this game. I have only ever been able to finish the Tales!!

Been breeding Playful and Forest or Fire and Forest since ch. 1, usually I would've gotten it by now…

So far, just getting Fairytale, Firemane, Landworm, Dino, Tree Frog, etc...

Hopefully complaining would help b/c it some times weirdly do for me, hence this post. XD

Oh yea, my Fire and Forest dragon are kinda shy when mating, thus they are invisible.

Note: it's gonna take 112 golds to skip all the Quetzal chapters, so...yea, I rather not do that

You're not alone! I've also found that some things are affected by what I post/complain about. In the CS forum we refer to it as Power of the Post and it's helped me get a stubborn drop more than once. With this in mind, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will prevail once more for you and you'll get your Green Quetzal.

Still working on the common dragon, waiting for Life dragon to be done...

On a random note: as I was harvesting, I happen to get a really interesting number...maybe that's a sign I'll get my common dragon soon? Although, I think it's a bad number in some other country...

Anyways, congrats to ppl who've gotten their common dragon~

I have four nests but only one den right now. One thing I’ve learned during theee events, is to breed the dragon needed immediately.

I had green quetzal on the nest waiting for days. Because just like with the bingo events, if you try to breed something they know is needed, you won’t get it easily.

The hardest part of these events for me is feeding the dragons. So I’m working on planting food like crazy to get the dusky Lory to level 14.

Meh... I know the feeling :( when Glasswing was first released as the grand prize in a Dragon Tales I was in the same boat. Not enough food, and low on coins as well. Just to make you feel a little better: a while later Glasswing was available as the extra prize dragon for a Dragon Tales, tradeable for the coin you get at the end. So perhaps you'll have to wait, but you'll probably get another chance to get the dragon. And remember they are just pixels, there are so many dragons in the game, what is one more or less?

I am now never short on food, sometimes I fail to finish a Dragon Tales because it's impossible for me to breed the necessary common dragon, but food is never the issue. I built my food supply to 2.6 million apples over the last one and a half year or so. Just keep collecting coins and planting crops and you'll soon won't have to worry about food again.
My tips: make sure you collect enough coins, plant Diamondates overnight and when you can only get on every few hours, otherwise plant Rushrooms. During Community Events it might be worth it to plant the less efficient Scalypears instead, you'll lose out on food but gain more points.

Send your Magic dragon on the food quest if you don't already, every 6 hours you can collect from 125 to 5000(!) apples. 5000 is rare, but I usually get 500 to 800. And don't forget to mine for dragon and island parts, also a good way to collect apples.

Also, I see some people here mention that with the food requirements for Tales, they won't be able to feed different dragons. Yes, it's an issue. You have to feed 2 dragons you may not really fancy heaps of food to get the final dragon. But: I can still feed the dragons I want to. Most of my dragons stay at level 4 or 7. My Champs are all level 7 to 15. I have to pick which dragons I want to feed. I just got my first gold producing dragon (Gold Horizon) and spent 750k to level it up to 15, so I'm rebuilding my food supply. Set a limit for yourself, and don't go under it feeding dragons. So for you, to be safe for the next DT, set the limit at 350k. Once you're above, you can feed other dragons again. And you'll notice that slowly the limit you set can move up. You just have to be patient. Hope this helps.

To add to the advice: don't forget about Bingo. I'm not an avid Bingo participant (the only tickets I've got are from events not Bingo itself) but I only recently remembered you get 500 food for every card you finish which is super easy and non-invasive at the lower leagues.

I usually end up forgetting about it which is why I rarely get the 'good' prizes but I do get a good amount of 2x/5x boosts which I then use when I have a free hour to sit on my phone and plant Upgrapes quickly. I barely had enough food to feed the three event dragons (only had 100 food leftover) this time but I'm back up to 90,000 so I'm not too bad off.

If you have the time, don't plant diamondates, plant upgrapes or rushrooms.

Per Farm math:

Upgrapes are 8,000/planting and the yield is 100.

Diamondates are 75,000 and the yield is 800. If you divide that by hourly, you spend 15,000 and get 160.

If you plant upgrapes twice, you get 200 for 16,000. You can plant 6 times and get 600 per hour.

If you don't have that much time, but more time than having to leave the game for 5 hours, plant rushrooms.

Rushrooms cost 26,000 and yield 300.

If you plant them 3 times, you spend 78,000 and the yield is 900. That's 3 hours of planting, you can plant 5 times and get 1500 if you have the money.

Now that I have a lot of coin, I plant upgrades, rushrooms and diamondates almost exclusively. Sometimes I plant buffbeets or impruberries for bingo but almost never fireapples or pumpwings (fireapples when Tales calls for it), Eliteleeks only during World event since hours of farming matter, and NEVER Scalypears.

I plant upgrapes most often, rushrooms when I'm busy at work, and diamondates overnight (except World Event).

When I use the boosts, I almost always plant rushrooms or upgrapes. With the 5X boost, upgrapes take 2 minutes to grow and about 20 sec to harvest/replant so I get 5 in about the same time as rushrooms, about 25 upgrapes (5 rushrooms) in the same time as diamondates

With the 10X boost, I usually plant rushrooms. They take 6 minutes with about 20 sec to harvest/replant. I get about 4 of them in the same time as diamondates. I have planted upgrapes before and the yield is still the best but the game tends to crash during the hour, which is frustrating and also I really have to pay attention to the game since I'm harvesting/replanting every minute.

Also, if you have gold and need food (or harvesting time for points for World Event), use the 10X boost, plant diamondates and you can harvest right away for one gold instead of 5 since the crop will be ready within the half hour.

Now I only have about maybe a day left to finish everything since I have work tomorrow...

BTW, What should I breed with Dusky Lory to get the least amount of breeding time?

I plant upgrades even tho I get kicked out cause the 3 minutes it takes to log back in loses less apples than doing r
ushrooms. I get about 33,000 apples w this tho high count was 36,000.

I left a question a while back in bugs n issues asking if anyone can do all upgrades without crashing but only 1 player answered. And Elsa said boost working as intended. I even emailed support and asked if any employees ever tried planting all upgrades and was able to complete an hour but they never answered that question...only ...it works. Oh well.

i can plan 1 hour of rushrooms + x5 boost, somewhat 2 minutes each if i try to continue planting the game crashes, I remember a weekend where i was planting rushrooms witout restar at normal rate an the game crash too my theory is that the harvest monitoring process crash after 250-300 cycles

x5 Bonus:
1 hour/2min = 30cicles *7 farms => 210

Normal:
7 hours /10 min = 42 cicles * 7 farms => 294

I sooo sick of the rollbacks with this game. I was on the 2nd battle on chapter 9, WON IT with no problem, only for the game to rollback and of course I lost 2x with star lorikeet. Instead of constantly throwing out events after events, storm8/team need to focus on these issues that so many players, as well as myself are having time and time again. Give us a BREAK and make this a priority to fix the rollbacks, bugs, glitches and everything else that we've been complaining about, instead of bombarding us with overlapping events..SMH

Thank God I'm finished with the tournament, because I would have stuck on that too..

Fyym
08-30-18, 01:46 PM
Diva, haven't you seen the thread about rollbacks? The overall response from storm8 is that it's not them. It's ALL of our service providers. Each of us mostly in different parts of the world, with different providers. AND it's our problem. Yesterday I couldn't even log on the game cause it said I didn't have internet connection. All the while I'm on the internet, and when dragon story wouldnt load, i watched hulu. Weird that hulu can steam perfect, but this game says i don't have good enough internet.....

Tales AFTER LeaderBoard AFTER WORLD EVENT

* throws table *

Not enough food for that DIAMOND dragon

The same with me. Guess I'll quit World Event from now on.

Heck, last time I barely got the 2nd dragon because breeding a common was difficult to get.

Well, I responded to the first quote on the day it started and my reply meant to quit the Leaderboard rather than World Event.

I thought I was out so I persisted by planting Rushrooms and Diamond Dates. Eventually got enough food now the Albino Peacock is on the nest!

I started this DT on the day it was released and mine expires 6 hours from now which would put me at the daily reset time. It used to be that we could wait several days to start which was nice but now the Tales auto-start 24 hours after it's released--at least I think it's 24 hours. Perhaps you're now starting the Tales later which is what puts your end time so late in the day?

I always craft it ahead of time, leave it in the spell shop, and place it when I'm prompted. I've never had any problems doing this.

I turned in a support ticket already but thought I would post here too just in case this has happened to others. Due to real life issues, I am a little behind in my tales and am on step 4 of day 10 to craft a wing gate. There are still 13 hrs left in the event but the wing gate is already gone from being able to craft. I'm assuming it disappeared when all the new event items were added. Hoping Kooky or a storm8 staff sees this or my support ticket and puts it back so I can finish the tales.

So I was kinda surprise to read that there are players out there who are on earlier chapters than I was on the last day. :O Unless they want just the 2nd dragon, that attempt phew would be pretty stressful w/o the use of golds or boosts. I guess it's still possible?
