This is the first time in a very long time that I've gotten the World Event dragon.

After a few fails, I got it with Frozen and Neo Forest. I try for these dragons by matching them with bingo squares, if I can - so I had a "breed black type with green type", which is how I decided on this combo. I had some fails with Water/Neo Forest, Hammerhead/Dawntree, Water/Forest, etc.

I did get it on my breeding roost but in previous events, I have gotten the dragon on the den so I don't think that matters. I'm still trying to figure out how the breeding roost is supposed to be worth 100 gold for 7 days because I seem to get the same ratio of common dragons. I only activate it for help with the World Event and help with getting the monthly dragon.

Yee ha, get ready for a flood of Island fails! So far, I've got fails with 2 Islands, Winter Rose, and Emerald!

Only good thing was it coincided with a Bingo task to breed Island. Took a break from this to try and breed Firestorm, but with 4 commons as possible outcomes, it's more like a rare/super-rare! Refreshed after 2 fails, what a Hoot!

Gee thanks S8 for making this game so much more fun now. I'm sure there will be a flood of money from people giving up and they will just buy the Neo Turquoise outright! Ka-ching! :-(--

Got it on my first try with Dawntree and Water. I totally wasn't expecting it. I don't usually have any luck at all with the breeding challenges. I love the colors and the design. Thank you, Storm 8 for the pleasant surprise :)

All these people getting it on the first try and I?m like 10 crappy fails in. And it?s a ?rare? dragon versus super rare or ultra rare. I really think Storm8 deliberately screws the people who use gold to speed up so that they will spend more. It really doesn?t feel random.

Silly me for even thinking I may breed it. Island after island after island with an odd one thrown in. Surely they could set a limit on fails . I'm thinking of getting a hammer to hammerhead his breeding s****s ain't up to par.I detest this aspect of the game where you need to breed a dragon to gain points. Rant over.. places ipad down and walks away for the day. Deep breaths. Lol. Congrats to those that bred it.

So... on my 7th attempt, I switched parents using Quetzal and Mercury and got a 13-hr timer.

Before that, 6 fails using Quetzal/Water. (Waverider, Atlantis (awesome for essence), and 4 consecutive Islands). Spent 38 gold and a 10x breeding boost to speed up those long Island fails. But it was worth it. :)

I really need those Icegems for the WE.

After trying every pairing possible and getting every fail possible (sooooo many Islands) I finally got this one with Soccer and Dawntree, just when I getting ready to throw in the towel. I would've quit trying many fails ago but I've recently started playing bingo again I was at the limit for some boosts so I needed to use some up which helped with this dragon.

My overall point is: I had a heck of a time getting this dragon and it's super annoying that it's so difficult to get a dragon that's meant to be Rare! I just don't even get the point of the breeding classifications when they're clearly not accurate and very misleading. Just another thing in the game that's to be taken with a grain of salt now I suppose.

Argh ... after 3 Island fails in a row I decided to try for other dragons. A breeding pair with 96 possible outcomes and 14+ dragons that I really want. ... and I have another 20 hour dragon.

I'm done with this garbage goal. If it weren't for the tournaments and helping my fellow Caretakers in that aspect I would've quit this game a long time ago. Why make impossible goals like this for impossible World Events that one has to spend money on to complete? I did some speed breeding and got Island 10 times for a total of 14 times trying to breed this so called "rare" dragon. May as well have classified this as ultra rare.

@skyharbor602: I totally agree with you. I have lost the fun in the game too. Every time I have to decide: Tale or tournament? Oftentimes my choice goes for the tournaments. The food rate in the tale is too high.

It's pretty sad (and frustrating) that I've been breeding non stop for nothing but Neo Turquoise on THREE accounts for an entire week and have not gotten one! I did get an ultra rare quetzal fail though. Seems that is easier to get.

Finally with under 19 hrs to go Dawntree and Hammerhead did the right dance in the nest and 13 hrs appeared.,after a plethora of island breeds. Used many boosts and some speed up gold I will get to the finish line. Not sure I will attempt another WE. This trying to breed an elusive dragon to make it isn't worth the end game. Too much luck based for my liking.
