It's never encouraging when the event opens with a walker to boost drops on sale for gems. *irritated sigh* To me this says that s8 has made sure that the drop rates are going to be stingy this time so we'll feel the need to purchase said walker just as they did with the Woodland event. This is not okay s8 nor is it appreciated!

400 gems for something that only boosts drops a bit with no guarantee whatsoever offered?! Thanks, but I'll keep my gems for something that isn't a gamble.

Sorry got carried away and realised I got to step 3 before logging the goals.

Step 3

Clear a Coconut Tree 0/1
Find a Sea-proof Bottle 0/12
Find the First map 0/4

Side goal on step 3.
Find map piece near Cows
Find map piece under rocks (iron rich rocks worked for me)
Find map under bushes (those round green and yellow ones worked for me)
Find map near ponds (Mermaid pond worked for me)

These 4 finds tick off map pieces in Step 3 main goal

NAME OF 10-STEP QUEST: "TELL NO TALES"

Go ahead and Plant Coconut Trees if you don't have, 500 gp, minimum 2 for step 3.

Aside: There is quest on Kingdom Log called "Boost the Booty." Wants you to buy a Ghost Pirate Citizen for 400 gems that will increase all drops during event: Pirate's Bounty, Sea-Proof Bottle, Tiny Pirate Hat, Tiny Eye Patch, Captain's Hat. It will remain after event.

Second aside: Skeleton Pirate (Walker) on sale at Town Hall, 400 Crowns. Does nothing, per card.

Main Quest:
Step One or Two (seems I lost track!)

*Cut down a Dead Tree. (800 gp) (Whole thing.)
** Get "Pirate's Bounty" (bag of gold coins.)
*Visit Ivy's Hut
*Get Secret Message from Ivy's Hut.

*Buy a Map (Island Map? I forget, sorry.)

Reward from Step 2: 5 Coconut Trees IN YOUR INVENTORY WOW

Step 3
*Chop down a whole Coconut Tree. (1-2 chops per bottle)
*Get 12 Sea-Proof Bottles (by chopping coconut tree)
*Find the Building Map (from sidequest below)

"Sidequest" appears on Kingdom Log separately, as PurpleScorpion 76 said:
*Search a Bush (I needed 2.)
*Search a Pond (took 1.)
*Search near Cows (I clicked button to make it put the arrow. Got it in one.)
*Search under a Rock. (I had no luck with 2 Small Piles of Rocks, got it halfway through an Iron-rich Rock.)

Step 4
*Build the Glimmer Pearl (size 3 x 3! Costs 1800 gp)
*Prepare a Message in a Bottle (Magic Forge see CharlieGirl's pic) https://forums.storm8.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44829&d=1528397578:
*10 Pirate's Bounty (from Dead Trees)
*2 Secret Messages [IVY BOTTLENECK *AGAIN* GRR. Need 2 to make one Message in Bottle!]
*12 Sea-Proof Bottles (from Coconut Trees)

*Upgrade Glimmer Pearl (I'm level 34) costs:
**1 Building Map (from sidequest)
**3 Wooden Beam
**3 Stone Block
**1 Message in a Bottle

Good news for me: I grew a bunch of coconut trees to get ready for the pirate.
Bad news for me: I'm on the seedy fortune in the fortune teller's tent which gives piles of seeds with every chop, but if I finish chopping a tree, it will disappear.
You have to finish chopping a coconut tree to get past step 3.

I guess they were leftover from some previous event. When they first came out, we might not have needed to 'grow' them. (I'm thinking like blossom trees lately).

Uh oh....

bad news folks.

At the end of the last event, Ivy was running a few experiments... and well, Ivy's hut has burned down.

While we will build her a new home, as this time we are unable to use her "hut" as a resource for collection during this event.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you (S8).

Please re-code all Ivy Hut drops to the Farm Houses.

Thanks,

I'm glad S8 has changed up the structure of an event. But now I have to wait 9 hours for Ivy's Hut before anything happens, gahhh.

But that aside, the Gem walker is telling me to expect poor drop rates. If there are no Crowns involved, I really want to skip this event. Well, even if they are rewarded, I guess I want to skip it, but I would force myself to complete it. This is a sad way to play a game. :(

Purchase - for a limited time. Skeleton Pirate - to live in your kingdom. Someone had a hard time grammaring this sentence, lol.

It does say it properly on the back of BOTH of the new cards, so "somebody* saw the problem with the teaser ad.

The glimmer pearl and sea proof bottles are invisible to me, anyone having the same issue????

I can't see them either which is not unusual for me. It doesn't seem to matter that my phone is new and fully updated, I usually can't see all the event materials until day 3 or 4 when they randomly become visible as time goes on in the event. It's not a huge issue just a bit of a pain as I have to open my inventory after each tree chopped to see what dropped.

And I've been thinking... I'm not a huge fan of walkers in general but I like the idea of having walkers contribute something to our realms. That said, I think s8 missed the mark a bit on this. If the walker guaranteed double drops for the event then I would probably spend the 400 gems but they already stated last time that while it boosts drops there's no guarantee. Instead, the boost is random and when it does increase drops, it doesn't double them, just increases them and last time players who purchased the boost walker reported numbers not far off from those without it. For me, this makes it all but useless as anything other than a walker and the drop increase is just a marketing ploy to get us to purchase it. It was a good idea but poorly executed which is a real shame because it could've been a really great addition to events.

Another question..
The Skeleton Pirate is on sale for 400 Crowns in the Town Square.. considering if we got all the walkers offered before.. how is it possible we can have 400 Crowns at this moment to buy him? I think we have 10 left over from the community prize and crowns are not earned quickly.
As said above.. 'available for purchase for a limited time'.. so then for players who called all their walkers it seems it's not possible to have? Is this so?

For it to work out properly we'd have to earn Crowns for completing this event since the walker will likely leave at the end of it. I've never seen so many walkers in one event before, it's like walker overload! I'm not all that excited by this prospect so I'll see how much I can get done by logging in twice daily to collect from Ivy.

One to buy with crowns:
44842
One to buy with gems for boosts:
44843
One we win for completing the event (I think)

The Skeleton Pirate is on sale for 400 Crowns in the Town Square.. considering if we got all the walkers offered before.. how is it possible we can have 400 Crowns at this moment to buy him? I think we have 10 left over from the community prize and crowns are not earned quickly.
As said above.. 'available for purchase for a limited time'.. so then for players who called all their walkers it seems it's not possible to have? Is this so?

I have 410 crowns at the moment only because I haven't gotten the Baron. And ...never will...lol. He can stay there forever.
I started the event but the Ivy hold up (especially since level 3 requires 4😳 collections from her) will probably cause me to ditch this one. Can't imagine later levels. Ugh!

i definitely won't be gemming this event from what I can see the only prizes are reworked editions of the boat, dragon's hoard, etc. I don't really care about walkers either

PrincessCelestian
06-07-18, 05:38 PM
That's what I've gathered from the popups we got at the beginning of the event.

44844

Yup. I feel like walkers are the new baby animals.

Same sentiment as many other players. I am already bored while stuck waiting for a second collection from Ivy before finishing part 2. And there is literally nothing to do while waiting, except growing and chopping palm trees. YAWN.
I have a strict NO gem spending policy for these timed events, so I will not be speeding up Ivy’s hut, nor will I buy messages.

I won’t go so far as to say I will sit this one out, but I also don’t plan to stress about finishing. I will check in when I remember and see how far I get. We already had a pirate themed event, and have some really nice pirate deco that I have no space to place. Growing trees just to chop them is the worst kind of mindless busy work. There is no strategy involved and very little planning needed (just check in every twelve hours. Sigh). I am sick and tired of spending every event waiting for Ivy, instead of having new and different things to do. We suddenly have so many walkers they are tripping over each other, with 3 more offered. Sadly, these things apparently are money makers, because they keep rolling them out, non-stop. It is very boring and extremely annoying and I really miss the way Castle Story used to be when it was run by the company that shall not be named.

The Skeleton Pirate is available for purchase for a limited time, but once purchased will remain in your Town Square / Kingdom permanently :)

So in 14 days this skeleton pirate will be gone? how can we get the crowns we need to get him? will they be awarded through the goals? I knew I should have waited to get the guardsman!! I just got him last night. I thought, they have had the guardsman available for such a long time, surely they will remove him now to make way for something new! but they did the exact opposite! I am so sad if this is the way it is. I hope you can get positive information regarding this. after the fiasco I went through on the last leaderboard, I lost so much real money on that one for nothing, if this is the way it actually is for this I may just give up the game all together :(

hurray!!!! thankyou so much! I know there is already some negativity going on, but I like the prizes, I did buy that ghost pirate because he is amazing!! my neighbour got the skeleton pirate and he is amazing too!! the thought of missing out on him nearly made me cry! Lol!! and actually, I am pretty sure there were pirates around when there were still knights in armour! so I am happy to have the both! :)

They were the reward from goal 2 "Tell No Tales."

I did not get the coconut trees, It was listed as a reward but they are not in my inventory. (It completed when I collected from ivy, the entire conversation happened, side goal text also occurred, game reset, new goals still listed, Ivy was ready for collection again, first pirate dialogue then nothing, goals still available)

Edit: After 2 force closings they showed up.

The only reason I might continue this is because I got a living wood from the coconut tree and I need 280 of them. I certainly won't wear myself out though...can't believe I'm already waiting on Ivy. Plus I've got loads of trees that can't be stored from expansions, why can't I chop those? Why do I have to buy and grow more trees?

I did not get them either when I completed the goal. I collected from a few other things and then force closed and I still did see them. But after coming to the forum to see what was up, I saw players were getting them, so I checked again, and they were in inventory, but back where they should have been if they had appeared when they were supposed to. I had to scroll back a few pages and there they were.
I decided to leave them in inventory and grow new ones to chop, since the ones we purchase are no longer storable. (All trees really should be storable!)

Ok laugh at me if you must, I don't care! I gemmed past waiting for Ivy, got the ship to level 2 and another set of goals has popped up! reward for the first part is 50 crowns. it is just upgrading the glimmer pearl to level 3, and that requires 1 fancy beam, 2 message in a bottle, 2 lookout parrots, 1 monster map. first thing is tapping chickens to get clues.
*** So part 5 is to feed chickens in order to collect 8 clues ***

"The use of plate armour declined in the 17th century, but it remained common both among the nobility and for the cuirassiers throughout the European wars of religion. After 1650, plate armour was mostly reduced to the simple breastplate (cuirass) worn by cuirassiers."
"The era of piracy in the Caribbean began in the 1500s and phased out in the 1830s after the navies of the nations of Western Europe and North America with colonies in the Caribbean began combating pirates. The period during which pirates were most successful was from the 1660s to 1730s."
there you go. A good 150 years when both knights in armour and pirates roamed the earth!!

I am sitting this one out. What do pirates have to do with Castle Story. I am so bored. Are we ever going to go back to the story. Even if S8 want to continue with back to back events there is no reason why they can't continue with the story alongside the events. Lots of people work on storylines whilst doing events. I am so fed up

I’ve been playing daily for 4 years and this is the worst event we’ve had!
The bottleneck of Ivy’s Hut is very tired. So is growing and chopping trees.

All of this could’ve tied in nicely to a main story revealing (the much requested) Port. Instead we have a disjointed event.

Also...
We’ve reached our walker cap now so where would the motivation be to win prizes that have no drops and can’t be displayed.
Why can’t walkers give permanent boosts?!?

For example:
Pirate could provide +10% gold and jewel drops
Tempest could reduce energy production to 2.50mins
Woodland Rider could provide +10% wood drops

I really feel Storm8 needs a player advisory panel - players that they can brainstorm ideas with the developers so that things are tweaked in a way to encourage playing , rather than deterring players with monotonous tasks and lacklustre prizes. I would happily volenteer to be part of a process like this.
We all understand that you need to make money Storm8, but you’re not successfully tapping into gameplay that most players will pay for. You’re focused on a small demographic that have an open wallet.
You should be aiming for a little money from most players , not a lot of money from a few players.

I don't know what quest is required for that map. Tapping the "Craft" button does nothing!
Nothing in the adventures or in the Royal Exchange. Tried tapping all the places map pieces came from before.....ponds, cows, bushes, & iron rich rocks....nothing!

Still I got the other pieces even if I don't have the goal, well waiting for my cottage to be ready.

44871. So don't look for any map pieces until you finish part 5! And nothing from a Level 7 farmhouse! Put out Level 5 or under players...SMH! Ah, geez...same with the L.7 cottage. Sped up a level 1 & got it right away.😠 If you want us to upgrade the buildings, S8, they need to perform the same, (or better since we used an exorbitant amount of materials) as lower levels!!!

Also another side goal opens:
44872. Also, red mushrooms don't work! Try regular ones!

AnnirasSweets
06-08-18, 06:15 AM
Well, I guess they kind of listened to our feedback by having all the map pieces scattered so that each level has us utilizing different buildings. At the same time though, we still have to wait on Ivy's and chop a bunch of trees. Is this progress? Is this happenstance? I'm not sure but as ever a small part of me hopes it means that the team is actually listening and trying to adjust events for us and maybe sometime within the next year they'll get it right.

@Shibuya, I'm not so happy about only being able to hold one of each map either as I usually like to have an extra for the storage so if you (or anyone) figures out how to do so, please let me know. I've thought about it but can't come up with a way to get more than the one. Am I correct that we keep the map pieces/corners in our inventory but the whole maps are the ones we use to upgrade? If I've understood the set up I don't think it's possible this time to keep one for the inventory which is a disappointment but seems like it's out of our hands.

I think this event is nice, there are some things to point out, as the above players have done... but a little nicer than the previous.... I wonder if the side goal ?booty-something? is only to buy the walker? Or if it comes more side goals after that? ..

Will not spend gems, or money, because of the very clear message through the flash posters that pops up...

Wish an event was exiting without having to wait very very very looong... and spending money...

Is S8 recycling themes for events now? We had toys last time for kids, apparently the orphans because they are the only kids in the kingdom, and now pirates again? I'm not going to ever spend gems for walkers, as I have to keep most of them in storage anyway so I can play the game.

I am not impressed with anything about this quest. I will wait for Ivy because there doesn't appear to be anything that I wouldn't be storing after the event. I agree with those who say we need to get back to the storyline, whatever that is now.

Gotta say I'm not feeling the whole pirate thing. How about a return to the main storyline? Methinks S8 is out of material.

What I really believe is that they never conceived of, or planned for, this game being such a huge success with players. I don't think they ever dreamed that there would be players who played Castle Story for years. Now they are victims of their own success. Out of ideas, out of new material, and no plan for the future.

This whole repeating-events thing works for players who just engage the game for a few months. But for those of us who have been with CS a long, long time, this is getting dull.

While I'm not a fan of having to wait for Ivy's Hut every event, I don't mind the Pirates a bit. They mesh with the original storyline just fine (in my mind.) Why does ONE message in a bottle take TWELVE bottles to make? Am I that clumsy that the first 11 break when I try to put a piece of paper in them?

Hehe. It's S8's way to keep us wasting energy growing and chopping trees. Many of the quest items we require make no sense in the real world. It's the way they make money.

Just like having craft items that drop from Ivy's Hut. As long as we keep playing, this seems to be the way of things in the CS kingdom. I am getting weary of it. Maybe S8 wants to end the game and in the meantime make as much as possible from it, without investing in creative ideas. I never thought I would miss the Team Lava days, but this is getting old with these timed events that don't drop anything I want to keep in my kingdom.

CS is the last S8 game I play and I would have left long ago except for the awesome community we have built here. That was part of the original plan and it's what keeps me playing. It's got nothing to do with common sense whatsoever.

My upgrade to Level 3 is a 2 step separate goal called "Swabbing the Deck".

So I guess getting to Level 7 the upgrade is in 2 places.

Yes I?ve got that too! I thought it was odd! Especially as I have it twice!

Swabbing the Deck goal just appeared but the Look out parrot craft isn’t available to craft in the Magic Forge and the Monster Map Qeust isn’t showing up either? I’ve force closed twice...
Same for me too

And also...
Thanks to all that have been advising and giving hints on the tasks.

We got one on Wednesday called Weekday Warrior. We weren't sure if it was a bonus WW or if they moved it to Wednesdays permanently and pretty much made it useless. They might still give us one this weekend but I wouldn't plan on seeing another before next Wednesday to be on the safe side of things.

OK, I started this, but have made a call not to continue because I can see already that it is the same pattern as the last few events; chop and collect endlessly from the same items, but remain constrained by Ivy’s hut. Then MAYBE (if you chop and collect endlessly) get a walker that I will put away anyway, because they slow down my game so much. No thanks. Not again.

Well did all I can till the 'waiting for Ivy's' point'. Such a pity a beautifully designed ghost walker booster is sold when the hold up is the Ivy's collections and not the materials drops.

I would have surely have bought him, regardless the price, if he resolved the annoyance of always waiting for Ivy's and boosted her too throughout the event.. BUT.. we just have to wait.. so I see that booster offer really useless. An Old Thomas's collection would have been a better solution. Zzzzz

Note that at the end we're always asked to fill in a poll survey.. but even if we mentioned things like this.. we'd find some other bottleneck situation to face and no way to resolve the wait except through use of gems. For we players, where's the satisfaction and joy on completing an event then? Certainly not by gemming an Ivy's all the way! Zzzzzzzzz

I'm really surprised they haven't offered us an Adventure or and Exchange to supplement the Ivy drops like they usually do. I'm at the same point as you, during my morning check in I chopped enough trees that I'm good for a while, tapped enough Farmhouses and chickens too. All that's left now is waiting on Ivy's....4 times! Talk about boring. I guess I'll set an alarm to check in with Ivy so I don't forget but other than that there's nothing to do but wait. If this is what we can expect for the entirety of the event I'm super disappointed because as you said, the artwork is great but the rest of it just blah.

I too was wondering if an adventure would pop up sometime for a chance at Ivy's hut drop. Maybe they've delayed it hoping lots of people gem Ivy's for a while....or they've taken it away completely...hoping even more people will gem it! I too am far from happy relying on Ivy's in these events. I'm no longer angry...I've gone downscale to apathy about the way cs is going ,which is why I hav'nt bothered posting lately, but then thought I should add my voice to support other players who feel this way.
I won't spend gems on events that don't give back worthy items and won't spend gems in events where I see from the beginning that gems will be needed more and more right the way through the event. All too contrived and clinical ! No care to want players to actually enjoy the game!! Pretty sad really. I've left the other games...3 big islands and 3 big forests because of the changes. I don't even bother to log in to collect my gold/gems and obviously have stopped spending on them.
Anyway I just hope someone turns this around for the good!!

I am bummed about the need for Ivy Hut collections again, but maybe they are limited. In the goal 8 requirements that were listed nothing was mentioned about message in a bottle or the message that drops from Ivy's Hut. So maybe the 4 collections we need for goal 7 will (hopefully) be the end - fingers crossed.

I'd rather have crowns as they're never enough. If by anyway you don't wish to spend them just leave in the Town Square.. it doesn't make a difference piling them up. Certainly something else could be offered even if +energy to be used also for those who aren't interested in Crowns.

To be honest, I'm quite enjoying this one. I was royally hacked off at the switch to weekday warrior, and can't say I'm thrilled about pirates again, but the actual goal is not bad.

They've heard our complaints about reusing old code: this is different. They've heard our complaints about the sheer boredom of events that have 3 things to chop/tend and just increase quantity at every level. This goal is all over the place, as far as it can be to include players at all levels. So far I've visited: 2 types of tree (one grown, one not) cottages, farmhouses, chickens, mushrooms, pond, treelogs, bushes and iron rich rocks. And I know there's more to come. Would it be good if they switched Ivy for Thomas to speed things up? Sure... But then they'd have to make it a week goal instead of a fortnight. They've heard complaints that during goals we have no chance to pursue story goals or regular Kingdom work, so Ivy slows us down. People have even asked for a week off from timed goal. For those who just want to get the goal done, that's annoying. But I quite like the enforced gentler pace.

I spotted a splash screen that seemed to imply that the prize has a chance to drop energy or gems among other things. For that I shall hold myself in patience while Ivy takes 12 hours to make a visitor a cup of tea.

I totally agree with that. I have to admit, that I was a bit nervous at first about that ghost pirate. But I just checked the first page, luckily it does not boost drops from Ivy, so no need to buy it. And I really prefer collecting two times a day from Ivy to collecting every two hours from Thomas or some other building. Much more relaxing...
So I just hope, that someone at S8 has done the math correctly and we have enough time for all the needed collections from Ivy, even if we miss a few.

An adventure or royal exchange would be welcome, but apart from that, I just try to enjoy this and use the waiting time to just be outside (it is summer here in Europe!)

I agree - how about goals where we have to visit Thurston for a change.

So I couldn't get the "visit a farmhouse" goal to check off until I got a level 1 farmhouse out of storage to visit. The farmhouses I already had out out on the board were a level 2 and a level 4. I've been getting eyepatches from visiting them but the goal stayed unchecked. So if you are having trouble with that goal, try a level 1 farmhouse.

I prefer the intense play, the challenge of doing almost everything over the weekend as is when I personally have more free time especially Sundays. During the week there's not much time for leisure play, just check ins and outs doing the last bit and pieces. Then I have the pleasure of rearranging, putting away and restocking the inventory.

Waiting for Ivy's I kind of forget as her collections are far apart. I preferred to make 4/5 Adventures or Exchanges, with all the extra work, to be able to maintain a quicker pace. With this slow 'waiting for Ivy's' pace.. inventories become a second choice, kingdoms stay a mess as all extras have to be left out on the board till time out for the next event and hurriedly thrown into storage, without time of placing renewed buildings we think might be used for the following event and ready to go. I've seen it's in these moments that we get tired, burnt out and not willing to participate in the following event.

However.. no problem.. there's always the Timer to remind me about Ivy's and her bottle-necks are part of this game for who doesn't wish to spend a fortune speeding. I've always completed all events without skipping any and will finish this one too as not many challenges involved.. only waiting time. The hopping around to visit other building to find bits and pieces are welcomed.

We all have different styles of play.. and this is mine that I've been using for all these years. I get passionately involved instead of allowing something else to move my attention elsewhere.

I think that's the point: they know a lot of people like to rush at weekends. So to make it more awkward with very little effort on coding they use Ivy to slow us down. The people so committed to finishing they can't wait will use gems, the rest of us will set timers and plod at our own pace. If they removed Ivy, this is a one week goal with no respite - awful rush for us and they have to have another game ready next Thursday.

As long as the maths is right and there is enough time for all needed collections plus a couple of misses, I don't mind this strategy.

I commented previously that maybe we wouldn't have to wait for Ivy past goal 7, because goal 8 didn't use her hut and the rest weren't listed yet. Goal 12 needs 10 visits to Ivy, so that will take awhile, but at least Ivy isn't needed for every goal unlike the last event. This one is mixing it up a bit.

I agree, Princess. Too much Ivy. 5 days is a long time for one goal, but as someone said maybe S8 is trying to space it out to take up 14 days and to give us time to work on other things not just this event. I guess I need more patience. I won't speed

I agree - how about goals where we have to visit Thurston for a change.

I think the reason for this is because Thurston is much further along in the story line so lower level players wouldn?t be able to participate. By Level 15 or so people have Ivy.

These times wuests started for me around Level 22. I?ve been playing since May 2014 it was the Summer Gazebo event which was my first. And I didn?t have a second stable by then, I built it during the event and bought a sheep with my few gems. If I was starting now amongst these weekly events I really don?t know how I?d cope.

To be honest if I was starting now it wouldn’t be long before I deleted the game.
Events are great, but not at the frequency we have them now....once a month would be ok. It’s got to the stage where I have to decide whether I do one or not, many I have passed on.
Too much, too often comes to mind.

yep. Me too. And I overlooked that Tree Log I don't know how many times when I was buying the old logs, because I just felt I was doing something wrong. Even tried the plant in the log. Double duh!
I don't know how someone could know that without the forum.

If you click the green "go" button, it will take you to the item you need, either on your board, your inventory, or in the market. At least, that usually works for me. I know things are sometimes different for other players...

But yeah, I clicked it and it took me to the right "log." Good luck! :)

I was about to come on here and add my complaints about Ivy. Four collections/two days just to get from level 2 to 3? Ridiculous!
But now I've read some of the comments about the benefits of this, and I can see their point. I still don't like that they've doubled the Ivy visits per item, and then raised the gem amount from 20 to 26! In the past I've spent the 20 to hurry along (once in awhile,) but this extra 6 gems makes me mad enough to force myself to wait it out.
But maybe this is also part of their strategy (to slow us down, giving us the "down time" we've asked for.) Plus, it gives them even more $$ from those gemmers that can't wait! Sure, they're all about the money, but it does seem like they've been listening to us, as well.
Edit: Of course, this all depends on whether we actually have enough time to finish without using gems to rush Ivy collections! Like others, I hope they did the math correctly...

I'm in kind of a dilemma of apathy.... I could speed up Ivy because I have tons of gems with nothing to use them for, so I don't care if I lose them, but I don't care enough about the event at this point to speed up either. Do I care less about the event or spending gems?
funny question.. lol! I guess the event doesn't excite you to the point of it's a 'I must' and then you spend.. so you're just lingering on like all of us. it's a s-l-o-w event.. too slow for my likes, but this doesn't stimulate me to speed specially Ivy's since it's the same story over and over again.
I'm on level 2.. still need 2 Ivy's, so will be tomorrow I get to 3. I don't even imagine the end, I don't read steps ahead.. it's just a stall.

Same here.... waiting on level 2, with another 4 hours for the second map piece to make the first message in a bottle, then tomorrow night I can level up to 3 with the second bottle, assuming I remember to visit Ive on time. I guess we won't know for another week if this pace will be doable without gems. I am trying to remember the last event that didn't feel like a chore, maybe Halloween?

I :o it! It's such an awful thing right now, if you miss one collection. And as long as we're asking, why not 4 hour collection times for those poor hard workings souls who make money to buy gems?

And it would be helpful if the ship dropped something useful towards the event. Gives you something else to look forward to. Seems some past events did that.

And this for most of us (I still like to sleep) will still only be 2 collections daily, but does give is some leeway on the timing. Or even make it 11 hours. Even that would help as sometimes I can't get to Ivy exactly on the 12 hours. Allows for time creep.

Try brown circle. I got mine with that one after about 5 collections. Are you sure that's the piece you're missing? You can have more than 1 corner drop but you get the black flag notice.

That means 12 days of ivy, that's cutting it pretty close. You can't really miss many (and with my schedule, I always end up losing 2 or 3 every week) and at most we have 13 days because you need the last ivy collection 3 hours before the end of the event to make the item.

Wow..: that is cutting it very close - hopefully they change ivy collection to lower hours: like 10! That would be great! Then they still have long time to wait, but not making it a ?problem? for players that miss the collection time! And also no stress right before the event ends...

A game should be fun, exciting, entertaining not boating, stressful and not a moneyeating machine...

Other than that I like the event, it is more exiting.... just also wish the drop rates in the towers would?ve better 😊❤️

I know that wouldn?t work for me. I struggle with my sleep as it is. This would ensure I have to collect at 6am, 2pm then 10pm. I?m lucky if I get up at 6am dead on, then I?d have to disrupt my work to collect dead on 2pm then collect at 10pm when I?m supposed to be asleep, then you?re continually late even if by a few minutes each collection 6 becomes 6.30 if you get disrupted by children for example before you sit down for breakfast then 2pm becomes 3pm because you?re in a meeting. A 6 hour timer would work better but I suspect this change would never come to fruition. Nice idea though. What works for me is gemming the last hour to being the collection back in line. So for example this morning I collected just before 7am so it?ll be a 7pm collection. Tomorrow morning I?ll be waking at 6. So I?ll gem the last hour because I?ll be walking the dogs by the time Ivy is ready if i left it later it?ll be an 8pm collection and the message in a bottle would be ready to collect at 10pm when I?m asleep. So if I gem speed at 7pm I?ll get to collect it at 9pm then out in a good long item for crafting through the night.

i think what we are thinking of, is the requirements remains same but is a 8 hour collection, meaning you can afford to to do 2 collections a day, instead of MISSING 1 collection if you well, missed, from Ivy.. because Ivy is a 12 hour thing, and you'll miss 1 Ivy if you are ''out'' by a few hours

erm, eg if you need to collect at 8am ,then 4pm, then midnight.. but you missed it at 4pm, you can still do it at 5pm-midnight..

I was able to complete last event 2 or 3 days earlier because there was another way of getting the exclusive item that Ivys hut dropped. The exchange if memory serves.

In this event there is only one way of getting secret messages and if you want to finish early you will have to spend gems. Some of us will have to spend gems if we want to complete the event because we couldn't finish the first goal before going to bed, so we lost one secret message from Ivys Hut. My Glimmer Pearl is still at level 2 because of that and if I want to finish I will have to spend gems.

I am trying to figure out if the final prize is worth the gems I have to spend.

I agree, even with 10 hour it would be better (if 8 hours is impossible because S8 won?t give us the opportunity to collect tree times from her)- as it is now we have to collect two times, but if it is changed to 10 hours we?re given some time to ?miss out? and do not have to collect at the exact time...

Totally agree. There are plenty of low level buildings that could be used - library, sawmill, hatchery, stable, tavern, even a marketplace or windmill if you were only collecting from it once or twice.

Other than the slow collection time I am enjoying this event due to greater variety & resonable goals.

I even was inspired to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl! Happy Sunday everyone.

Mini Pirate Hat: 3 (Chickens, Swans)
Mini Eye-Patch: 3 (Farmhouses)
Captain's Hat: 3 (Watchtower)
Pirate's Sword: 10 (Skeleton Pirate; Spawn: 5, Defeat: 5)
Energy per Day: 300 (Fully used for the event)

The collector seems impossible with Ivy's Hut speed up. But the requirements for level 5 are not confirmed.

And please .. do you have something else as a reward other than crowns i even haven't used yet ... i'm not using crowns so winning/earning them doesn't make me happy at all
I don't blame you about the crowns, although as a newbie player I wanted those toys. Of course, I'd already stored Ivy, Thomas and Thurston because they were in the way. And Sabina and Hana: by that point I'd discovered my graphics does not appreciate extras. But I wanted that Guardsman. Not for himself, but because of the Doberman doggies deco. So I got them! And then stored, like the rest.

I only found out by happenstance traced to SpiritWind that the Dobermans drop ADVENTURE SUPPLIES. Feasts, longswords, armor. So now they have pride of place next to my castle.

Freaking deco that drops, I swear we need more notice about these. I didn't try for the pastel ALICORN when I started playing because I thought it was just a pretty deco. Things y'all take for granted, lol.

On that regard, the Pile Of Gold drops coins. I meant to tell you specifically but I forgot. More than 1000 but less than 2500.

That hurts, 6 Bottles means you have room to skip 2x a Ivy's Hut gathering. That will be a very tight event as there are no other sources! On the energy side, this event will be less energy hungry.

Treasure Map? Same as the other 4 pieces to find?

Maybe you put the other pieces together to make the treasure map?

Never mind:

* Make a Message in a Bottle 0/5
* Dress a Look-Out Parrot 0/6
* Prepare a Captain?s Wardrobe 0/6
* Read the Treasure Map | press the green button only
* Upgrade the Glimmer Pearl to Level 5

Just press the button.

What I find funny about building this ship is it only required a few beams to build...lol. We should be making the masts & sails. Oh, & what about a flag? I would've like crafting a flag for my ship!☠️
But we're creating 12 parrots :) & 12 messages in a bottle. 😳
And why are there gonna be 10 Captains for this ship? Where's the First Mate, Quartermaster, Boatswain, & ***ner? Those 10 captains aren't gonna wanna do those jobs! 😂or swab the deck that's for sure!

Yes but you can have more than one of each of these buildings which is what they don?t want. They want to use something you can ONLY have one of.

In 1 kingdom I got 5 captain's hats from 7 towers including dainty towers. Tried 4 spires and none.
In other kingdom I got 2 hats from 8 towers. Tried 3 spires and none.

It should be a guaranteed drop. The only times I've seen Ivy not drop are when people visited her before they were prompted (before they reached goal 2) to go to Ivy's. If you're further ahead in the goals perhaps it was a one time glitch? I know when the games rollback it creates all sorts of oddness perhaps force close then check the inventory to be sure. From here on out, I'd keep a close eye on Ivy and if you don't receive the Secret Message next collection I'd lodge a ticket with s8 because that's not meant to happen and there's definitely an issue.

While doing my morning check in (finally making 2nd bottle for level 3) I received a splash screen that raised some questions of my own this morning:

44934

The way I'm reading the text is that once we complete the goals, we'll receive a treasure box. We then chop this treasure box and receive whatever is inside and never see it again. Okay, that all seems well and fine to me buuuuut the image is super vague on what the treasure could be: how many gems, how many energy or coins, is there anything else?

To be honest, I'm the sort that would like to keep the treasure in my inventory always rather than chop it once and be disappointed as is evidenced by my collection of rainbow pots, lol. Figured I'd post the pic and see what you all thought of it.

Does that mean that the prize is not the walker? It?s the treasure or it?s just one of each? randomly selected?

It's not 'OR' it's OL'.........as in OL' Dusty Beards Treasure....as in like how a pirate would say it... ( and further down they actually say ... Old Dusty Beards treasure) ... I think it says somewhere the treasure drops once the ship is complete.

2 times in 15 days are awfully tight! Considering last day is never a full 24 hr day. I would say you can miss ONLY 1 collection. Last goal needs 6 bottles to upgrade to 5th.. that's 12 secret messages.. so we'll be collecting from Ivy's all the way to the end.. and hopefully have enough time to do the last bottle craft before time-out.

I guess it's all planned purposly that way.. so suggest who doesn't have the possibility of buying gems, or prefer not to, you start collecting them to have at least 24 to gem Ivy's once.

Keep sending out all Castle Adventures, collect each time from gem dropping characters, watch videos, play free games if you don't mind the torment of tons of emails and/or calls.. and hope for the best.

Unfortunately there's no other way to earn extra Secret Messages.. they drop only from Ivy's!

Yes.. definitely more skunky spawns from coconut trees. During events when chopping whatever is needed, this usually is the spawn place for the beasts required. The usual places don't drop with the frequency they had before as spawn rates are changed depending on what's required.. and of course other beasts will jump out.

If this answer was to my post on where to find skunkupines, thank you. So far I have chop 7+ coconut tress and only fangbeasts have spawned. I will keep trying the coconut trees hopefully one will sow up soon.

Well, if this is true I just lost all motivation to finish this event...Looking for a treasure is supposed to be fun, this is hard work. I may or may not make it (I WILL miss at least one collection of Ivy's), but the end prize doesn't look worth the effort. With my luck it will probably some coins...

I will keep at it, for the crowns and whatnot, but I won't go crazy about it. (I really hate having to grow the neccessary trees first)

14 days it says, but it is more like 13+, that is 26 collection . Maybe 27 if you had Ivy's on standby. So that is 2 collections spare! Tight like hell. Remember you need to craft the bottle 2 hours. Anyway, in the best condition without using gems, you can finish the event in 12.5 days (12.08 days if you are timed to the second). This means we hit Ivy spot on each time she is ready.

I really find that is too tight over so many days of play.
What if the game rolls back after you've collected? You come back an hour later and see it's not collected. That happens more times per day and daily, it's never been 100% stable :(

Precisely what happened to me this morning. I was getting ready for church so I popped on just long enough to collect from Ivy’s and make my bottle message at the forge. Got home from church to collect my forge to upgrade my ship and much to my dispair was a coin icon over Ivy’s house... so disappointed

i think what we are thinking of, is the requirements remains same but is a 8 hour collection, meaning you can afford to to do 2 collections a day, instead of MISSING 1 collection if you well, missed, from Ivy.. because Ivy is a 12 hour thing, and you'll miss 1 Ivy if you are ''out'' by a few hours

erm, eg if you need to collect at 8am ,then 4pm, then midnight.. but you missed it at 4pm, you can still do it at 5pm-midnight..
but at the moment, eg if I'm collecting from Ivy at 10am, and missed the 10pm...and goes off to 1am... then I miss 1 collection

Yes, I realised which angle you guys were coming from I also saw this other point of view, because others will as well and think they?ve given us the chance to get in 3 collections per day rather than just the two.

Library is a good idea. But it?s not a character building so they?d struggle to find a reason for using it unless it?s book related.

I've figured out what S8 is doing.

By continuing to utilize Ivy's hut, they are telling all players, Hey, you are playing the game to much. Please only log into the game twice a day. Making you log in every 2 hours, or 30 minutes to complete a task, or move forward on a step is too time intensive for the player base as a whole.

S8 has been listening to us.

Thank you S8, for making this event one where we only need to log in once every twelve hours, rather than once every two hours, or every thirty minutes.

I enjoyed the extra time I had this weekend.

I mowed my lawn.

Chief Beef,
MOo!
