Missing gems

I went from 61 gems to 17, contacted support and their reply was they couldn't help to come here. Does this happen often? And does anyone know how to stop this? Any help, advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am sorry this happened to you. :( Try clicking slowly to avoid accidental use of gems. I'm afraid the forum can't assist on loss of gems. Thanks.
