I have been battling Beegull (10) with Rampage (15) for two days now. He is never going to die, like a God. All worship, Beegull, the stupid bird thing that I cannot defeat.

On level 10: Sapphire Cthulhu, I tried Dark attack and it only gave me a Neutral result, not Strong.

I wholeheartedly agree. I just didn't notice before because I'm still overwhelmed by all the Spring/Blossoms animals that are everywhere in forests I visit. This creature doesn't have a drop of anything aquatic.

I won the Paradise Peccary last night and put it to nest this morning.
I didn't keep track of which of my creatures won each round and I'm not familiar with most of these ultra- rares and special types that other stronger players post on these battle threads. The only special elements in my forest are Spring and Sea, because I only started last month. Also, I have only one ultra-rare - the Lily Drake I won on Leaderboard. She's L9 and hardly fought at all.
I just want other strugglers to know that you can get this done with base animals (single element) and super-rare hybrids of the Lightning, Dark, Water, Earth, Nature and Fire types, preferably at L12-L15. Only my Ancient Sloth and Vinotaur we're L15 for most of the tournament. Seagull got to L15 in the final rounds, but wasn't a go-to fighter.
I didn't find my rare hybrids to be of much use, but then again, none of them are above L9.
Be persistent! Set timers and fight every chance you get.

Well hooray, this is the fifth or sixth tourney in a row that is unwinnable without spending money. I am stuck on round 36. I've been on it since yesterday. I have used every creature that is suggested to no avail. The last ten rounds at least have required me to lose numerous times before it allows me to beat it. And I'm not setting a timer to play a game. I'm a 42 year old adult for Pete's sake. Do you know what kind of conversations I would be having explaining why an alarm is going off on my phone every hour?! Just make the tourneys easier. Well... MY adult perspective is that when you take all the pretty animations away, the game is nothing more than a mess-load of timers, requiring us to click on each timer as it runs out and click a couple more times to set a new timer. The "rewards" for obeying the timers are not real; just more timers disguised by more pretty animations.
On my job, we are very mobile and our phones are going off all the time - whether it be timers, calls, calendar reminders; all sounds the same. It's a noisy office and I try to be off-site as much as possible; I get more productivity (and a little freedom to play a couple minutes here and there). The demands of these games don't always suit the demands of our real lives, which is why I abandoned all my Storm8 games several years ago. Storm8 has no financial interest in making the game and its challenges easier. Players will either decide that they don't care much about winning an event (a healthy choice, in this case), or that they don't care much about spending gems and /or money to win.
I didn't spend any money on the tournament, but like all these events (which are really quite too much) it required what many would consider an unreasonable amount of attention. If you assign a value to that time, it may well be more worthwhile to have spent the gems/money - who knows. Ultimately, the only true freedom is quitting. Period. This I know.
