Perhaps a new building could be introduced for players to responsibly dispose of extra crops without stocking their Side Shops and discarding. Instead, these could be placed into a Composter, which would over the span of, say, 4 hours, convert the crops into Fertilizer, which could be used to "supercharge" a plot so that whatever is grown on that plot would produce 4 of a crop instead of 2.

To prevent it being overused and abused, the cost requirements to use it could be significant and/or challenging. It could require at least 2 each of Wheat, Rice, Cocoa, Passion Fruit, and Daisies (basically, 2 each of the earliest of each type of plant we can harvest) before players can add whatever they want to compost, up to 90 of it (for a total of 100 items), provided it is ONLY that one crop, and some hours later would receive 2 bags of Fertilizer.

Or it could just require 50 each of 3 types of crops or fruits.

Or players could just dump whatever they want to dispose of (up to 100 total) and be done with it.

Discarding from the shop might still be an option, especially since like any other crafting building there would be a limit to how many Fertilizer could be queued up, and with some fast-growing crops, even the usual 7 spaces might not be enough. And since most building have more than 2 options, perhaps there could be 3 types of fertilizer to be made--for the Water Garden, for the regular Plots, and for the Flowers (as it might encourage more players to craft candles in the Floral Shop). The Fertilizer would only be good for those three options and not the Vines or Fruit Trees or bushes, or the Maple Trees (since those are ongoing and we don't plant or replant them). It MIGHT still have an effect on limited-time crops, like the Peppermint that we have sometimes had for winter holiday events.

This is a great idea!

This is an AWESOME idea! So many options could be built into this building. Speeding up a plot for a couple of hours with fertilizer would be fantastic, particularly for those slow crops.

I second this. A composter would be awesome for especially Android users who lack many of the features that iOS users have and thus our storages are often full
