All Valentine's. You have the beloved dragon? - jealous. I love that one!. I will never ever get enough bands or wish lists or whatever it is that month to get one of those dragons. I dont know how anyone does. It just doesn't seem like there are enough available. Despite doing all events and playing continuously, only get a little above halfway there..
If your going to continue that for 42 rounds u might want to retire the romantic dragon early. I dont know how you even won one round with that dragon. As someone mentioned it can't fight it's way out of a paper bag. Lol :)

Lol, Romantic just has to be put up against the right opponents like a yellow/green hybrid. I've noticed most of the opponents can be beat with heart hybrids.
Yes, I've got my Back To The Future movie playing for this tournament and "The Power of Love" is something fierce, lol.

Finally got past Stalwart with Diamond 15 (many tries). This account did get more than its fair share of ads to watch ... very helpful in early rounds but resulting in a HUGE line at the spa now (28 dragons!). My nests were full and I wasn't prepared with expendable babies until the last few rounds.

Random, that's part of the reason why I used all heart (valentine) dragons in this tourney. I'm kind of sick of the monthly themes too. Spooky and Fey were cool, Holiday was passable but World was stupid and the Valentines had many many dragons sharing the same elements. I figured if these dragons are shoved down our throats why not make fun of them in the tournaments.

Yeah, I had a bit of trouble with that one too! Once I get too many dragons in line for the spa, I just use babies. When they all only have 10% chance of winning anyway, I don't want to exhaust any powerful ones that I might need for the next round.

That's really weird, I've been getting quite a few per day which has definitely helped me get through faster. I breezed through the early rounds because of it. (And I need the help again because I'm taking on Daywing now!)

Level 1 True Love slaps a level 20 Cloud Rider right out of the arena right after being hatched. The Power of Love continues through 30 rounds lol.

Well level 3 didn't work wish I hadn't evolved it at all.

Kaboom uses blue bubble magic so I looked for dragons who are strong against blue. I realized that Neo Bat is spooky/purple/yellow. Spooky uses black smoke magic BUT spooky is really black/purple/yellow so I figured I was doubling up on purple and yellow. Bb took him down.

If it helps, I tried Diamond a couple times with Amazon, until I finally took it down with Diamond 15 bB. Ymmv, though. I also lost Huntress and Passion. The champs are always dicey. I’m stuck on Ninja, lol

I just bred diamond with history trying for the limited dragon as a last ditch effort. What do u know 10 hrs. All I get are neo bubbles. Now I tied him up, but I did boost it.
Any other suggestion.
Update : after 2 more losses with lvl 3 Luma and lvl 1 cloud. Used lvl 3 lovers and won. Jesssuusss.

I am losing my mind. I've been stuck on round 39 against Ninja for AGES. I've tried every dragon imaginable from Babies to Ultras and everything in between. I finally beat him with level 15 Black Knight (which I had already used 6 times and lost) but I had to fight him well over 20 times. After an entire day of losses, I started keeping track and from then on I fought him 23 times before finally beating him just now: that has to be close to 40 tries for one opponent. Ridiculous.

Why can't S8 have it so that if we've had oh, I don't know something like 20 straight losses with the same opponent then on try 21 you get through regardless of the dragon you chose to fight with?! I mean, would they really be losing anything by doing so? It's really hard to want to keep going when you're faced with an impossibility such as this... Isn't it?

Types that are "neutral" against Champion = Diamond, Egypt, Metal, Olympus, Soccer, Valentine
Types that are good against Red= Yellow, Blue, Stone, Tropic, Champion.
Types to avoid against Red = Green, Dino, Zodiac, Metal, Soccer

1. My Egyptian (Egypt-Blue-Yellow) would be my first choice but he was waiting in the healing spa.
2. Decided to try Czech (World-Blue-Yellow). If you look at the bottom of the "Type Advantages" chart on page 1, it says that World uses Blue Bubble Magic and when breeding, the World type splits into Blue-Yellow-Green. So Czech is World (Blue-Yellow-green) + Blue + Yellow. He just seemed like a really good choice for me.

p.s. Once I hit 10 fails I use Fire 1 dragons, one after another, because (for me) it usually takes about 3 tries.

I'm considering building an altar to Storm 8, chanting "Kooky Elsa Flatfoot", while using the healing spa as a lobster boil type pot.

Thank you for explanation. I had same thought process hence using Argentinan 14 (world , yellow, blue) after the wild card lvl 1 fire didn't work. I stuck with that thought process later. Trying to work in light against the black magic? Nothing made sense. Level 3 lovers dragon finally won. And really had absolutely no reasoning to it at all.

I always do this when going into battles as well. I used to use champs and diamonds in tourneys until I figured out that they're useless most of the time. There's a few exceptions like Mithril and a few champion hybrids.

Next tournament I will go back to normal and use my color calculator for battles.

Daywing is not a friendly one. If you have too many dragons waiting for the spa, you could always use Fire or Forest babies and not have to heal them. That's what I did for Daywing, and finally got it (with baby Air) after about 20 tries

Sometimes i go to Forest, too, and even Water and Air depending on habitat space available and what event is going on (i.e. sometimes during World Events I hatch Water dragons on my extra nest to get points). Well, that was a super tough tournament. Every round took about 5-6 dragons before I could defeat it but I managed to complete 42 rounds without having to use gold. I have about 50 dragons to heal now.

Yeah and the dragon is worthless. Not a champion and not even ultra rare. I dont even know why I did it. Had to use gold to pass ninja. But at that point I had already invested so much there was no way I was not going to finish. The reward is disappointing. A Valentine white and blue which we already had several of in February.
A 42 round tournament with a dozen level 20 dragons to beat definitely should at LEAST have an ultra rare prize.
