This event is a bit different from the original world event we were used to because they are iOS only. The team has made some changes to include the Android folks. :)

Android players will have quests. Members on both platforms will need to upgrade the Scarecrow Band and all prizes, including the Community Prizes, will be the same for everyone. Android folks also contribute to the collection total for the whole community.

FYI the final stage of Scarecrow Band is animated.

Getting Started
1. Buy the Scarecrow Band from the Market to get going. Make tapes with the Scarecrow Band to earn Sheet Music!
2. Send deliveries to earn upgrade parts like Microphones and Subwoofers for the Scarecrow Band.
3. Make Platinum and Regular tapes with the Scarecrow Band and put them in the Boom Box to get Soundproof Beams.
4. Adding more slots to the Scarecrow Band will upgrade it and you'll earn higher amounts of sheet Music when you make tapes.

About the tapes
Tapes take 2 hours to make in the Scarecrow Band
1 hour in the Boom Box
Playing the tape in the Boom Box will get you a random item:
Random number of Sheet music or event items

Making tapes in the Scarecrow Band gives a set number of sheet music
Slot 1 and 2 are in the Scarecrow Band when it arrives.
1 sheet music from a tape
Numbers increase substantially if you open more slots in the Scarecrow Band.

Slot 6
40 sheet music
Slot 7
65 sheet music

My above numbers are based on platinum Tapes.
It has been verified the numbers are the same for Regular Tapes.

The advantage in the beginning to platinum Tapes is they return 3 soundproof Beams important for upgrading the Scarecrow Band. BUT you have to use 5 music notes to make 1 platinum tape

So keep sending those planes and refresh any item that too long to make or not easy to find in the paper or neighbours stores.

I hate planes but flying this many helps to level up.

The way this world event was done is new to us and a learning curve.
Let's give it a chance and see how it goes.

Hats off to the designers of these animated decorations....they are outstanding.

I have to say, County Fair events aside, having the very first day of an event last only 5 (6? I'm not 100% certain when it started) hours hardly seems appropriate. At least let it last 12 hours, or the full 24 hours. But only 5 hours? Something is not right.

I'm not sure I've ever done a world event. The first event I ever got notified on was Valentine's Day, and after that, it was the Beaver. So, not sure how these work at all. Read the World Events thread, but ... I'm not too sharp a tool, so I guess I'll figure it out as I go.

I see that it requires us to collect 425 sheet music to unlock the community prizes. I hope that (as I type this) 10 days, 21 hours, 50 minutes will be enough time to collect the sheet music, since the final goal will almost certainly be between 1500 and 2500 sheet music...maybe even more!

I am not sure why people are unhappy about an event , it was really sad when there were no events and I am really pleased to see new ones . I did get the elephant but not all the ice cream prizes but the ones I have are happily decorating my farm . If I get prizes it’s all good if not ...well its just a game and keeps me entertained . It looks like we cannot buy parts. I’m trying to dump all the parts my deliveries give to clear barn space. I never understand why items fill up barn or silo space if you cannot sell them to players that may want those items.

You must be crafting something in the building before the upgrade button shows up. Personally a downside to me since there is no way to check the parts you have unless you know that you need before hand and then check your barn. These events were more fun when we could find the upgrade parts in the newspaper and had the ability to help each other out.

So far the only thing I want is the fully upgrade bandstand and I have never been able to completely upgrade in over 2 years.

I'm not sure how things are done on Android, but on Apple it is done by having one item crafting so that the entire queue is displayed, including unlocked and locked slots. Start one Mixed Tape crafting, and see if you can unlock the 3rd slot once it's be***.

It's the same for Android. I upgraded mine but it didn't get me to the next goal. I closed the game and open it again and than it worked and i got to the next goal.

Not participating. Still mad about the cake pop event. At least iTunes refunded the money spent on the pack with the "wrong" cake pops.

Hmmm, thought I might come back but I don't see the game has improved at all. Saw my friends being very frustrated with the previous event that gave only decorations, and now this? I glanced briefly and it boggles my mind why they made it more complicated. Correct me if I'm wrong:
1. this time, in contrast to previous world events, your event "thing" doesn't drop the needed "items" every 3h or so anymore? So if you're stuck, then it's pretty much game over...
2. you only get music sheet when you make a tape or the soundproof beams?
3. what happens when you fully upgrade/reach lvl 7? To keep getting music sheets you still keep making the tapes/soundproof beams which you no longer need? This will fill your barn space... and of course, you can't sell them...
4. Could the 4th prize be the chicken pet? My cousin would love that and is only playing to get it

Basically if you make tapes you collect sheet music every two hours from the Scarecrow Band
Upgrading to slot 5 ...one platinum tape gives me 20 sheet music
Then putting it in the Boom Box I collect a random amount of sheet music or an upgrade event item

Slot six upgrade gives
40 sheet music from Scarecrow Band for a platinum tape
Boom Box the tape gives same above random items

I am thinking slot seven and the final upgrade
Will give 60 sheet music from the Scarecrow Band but am speculating on last one

So basically you collect sheet music every two hours from the Scarecrow Band
And that same tape you made you recollect at end of one hour from the Boom Box

I think the chicken is a balloon decoration

Still, it seems that the only way to continue to receive sheet music is to craft tapes and soundboards, even after fully upgrading the stage. Of course, that presumes that plane deliveries will drop Musical Notes...which my planes seem to have difficulty doing, lol.

Upgrading to slot 5 ...one platinum tape gives me 20 sheet music
Then putting it in the Boom Box I collect a random amount of sheet music or an upgrade event item

Slot six upgrade gives
40 sheet music from Scarecrow Band for a platinum tape
Boom Box the tape gives same above random items

I am thinking slot seven and the final upgrade
Will give 60 sheet music from the Scarecrow Band but am speculating on last one

And that same tape you made you recollect at end of one hour from the Boom Box

I have been playing and I can tell you that the drop rates for music notes is really bad. I got a few when I first started but getting next to none now. Why do they have to make this so difficult?

You can buy the Scarecrow Band and the Boom Box for next to nothing.
If you aren't really participating you can still likely get a few decorations.
If not dump the items in the store the Stormie clean up crew will gather the items.

At this point, unless I suddenly manage to get a lot of Musical Notes (a possibility, though remote) dropping from a series of deliveries (which is not likely to happen since I keep getting asked for long-time-to-craft items), I think it might be best for me to stick to making regular tapes and getting just 1 Soundproof Beam at a time...which may actually work to my advantage since it won't cost me as many Musical Notes to make fewer beams (1:1 of Musical Note to Beam versus 5:3 of Musical Note to Beam for the Platinum Tape), though it will take longer...but then again, with Notes dropping so rarely, it's not like I'm backlogged or anything.

I have 2 farms, both are iOS. And I can tell you right now, that even though I play the one that is level 98 way more, the one that is at level 42 has a much higher drop rate. I got the first individual prize with my second tape because I got 25 sheet music from a regular tape! Took me hours to get it on the other farm. I?m almost to get the second prize on the smaller farm - not even close on the big farm! Find this interesting! Way to reward your dedicated players S8. nothing random about it if a lower level farm is getting better drops - just saying...... Been playing for 3 1/2 years - don?t like that we can?t help on another in a community event the way we used to be able to!

To upgrade the stage in this event, you'll need to unlock a crafting slot to the building. If you start making a Tape in the band, you'll see a purple button appear that says Unlock. Tapping that will show you the upgrade option.

This confused me, too. I didn't understand that the "unlock" button was the same as all the other buildings when you want to open up more slots. So, make a tape -- any tape -- and click "unlock" wherever it appears. Then wait to get your prize, and do it again till you're out of materials for the upgrade.

My suggestion, once you've unlocked all but the last slot, is to switch from doing Platinum tapes and working on only regular tapes. If it takes as much time for you as it does for me to collect upgrade parts, you have time to make all the Soundproof Beams. In the meantime, collecting 40 Sheet Music every 2 hours isn't too bad. I only hope that I still have enough time (7 days, 3 hours as I write this) to collect enough sheets to get to the end: I'm at 623 right now, so another 200+ (5 regular tapes) to the 4th prize, and then another 725(?), equating to another 18+ tapes. So there SHOULD be enough time (2 hours per tape, so possibly no more than 2 days), since I can queue things up (and actually get things done while asleep for a change). Still have a lot of Soundproof Beams to craft, but 18 will go a long way to finalizing the upgrade.

What's frustrating about this game is that when there is a quest the necessary parts to continue through it never show up and you don't end up getting much out of it. I don't understand the point of it all. In restaurant story it's up to you to complete your goals in a timely manner and you get your prize. With farm story it's the luck of the draw and that makes it almost pointless and a waste of time. I've tried a couple of these quest and have yet to complete one due to the parts not dropping.

So this challenge was kind of fun but it really did suck up the barn space. The prizes were super cute. I don't know why everybody thinks they need a pet for every single challenge. I thought this was perfectly fine the way it was. I did have a question though that doesn't necessarily pertain to this challenge (I don't think), but I'm not entirely sure because I was looking through all of the other threads in the discussion page and the game guides and everything and I couldn't find what I was looking for. So when I clicked on my challenges list a new challenge was there and it was something about a hidden garden. Piper popped up and said something about a garden and then all of a sudden I got experience points and I think coins. And I'm not sure what happened because I didn't do anything other than click on the challenge to see what I was supposed to do. So I'm confused, if someone could tell me what challenge that was and how in the world I even completed it since I hadn't done anything. Thanks

I just got my scarecrow band finished. It is really neat!!! Its country style fits well with the rest of my farm, as do the rest of the decs! The music theme is well done and fun! I am always concerned that I might not finish quests, and quite often I don't, which makes me sad if I really want the prizes. For me, the key to this one was to send out as many deliveries as possible. That gave me the upgrade parts and notes for tapes. I'm still recording and creating sheet music because I like the old Victrola and want to add it to my farm. Well done, Storm8 Team!! I just got my scarecrow band finished. It is really neat!!! Its country style fits well with the rest of my farm, as do the rest of the decs! The music theme is well done and fun! I am always concerned that I might not finish quests, and quite often I don't, which makes me sad if I really want the prizes. For me, the key to this one was to send out as many deliveries as possible. That gave me the upgrade parts and notes for tapes. I'm still recording and creating sheet music because I like the old Victrola and want to add it to my farm. Well done, Storm8 Team!! I'm sorry to hear about this! Were you able to do anything in the game before the issue occurred? You may want to try re-installing the game from the App Store (it won't lose your saved progress.)
I was playing the game until Friday afternoon. Since then the game will not open. I will try to play and get the farm stormy logo page then it goes back to my devices home screen. I deleted the app, reinstalled it, and reset my device with no luck.

Is anyone else having trouble with the microphone drop rate? I have 16 microphones and 32 speakers. And even more beams! I miss the old days when I could find parts in the market. Why did they disable that feature? It was fun and friendly. And does anyone know how to upgrade the band without making a tape? I can't see the 'add a slot' unless I am making a tape, so I need notes to both check my progress and to upgrade (so I always have to keep notes in reserve so I don't run out and have to wait to upgrade). Very frustrating.

The only time the upgrade slot will appear is when you are making a tape.
The other thing I just noticed today that makes me kind of sad is that the band isn't animated unless they are making a tape. S8, is there some way you can leave the animation on after the quest is finished? Having them move like they were playing is the best part!

I think that if you tap them, they move for a short time. It's not the same as when they're making a tape, but it's a little something, at least.

EDIT: Just checked. For me, at least, they bob left and right 3 times (that is, 3 times to the left, 3 times to the right).

There should be an on-screen icon that you can tap to tell you the community's progress. It should be the same one that tells you how many Sheet Music you have collected personally.

As I am typing this (with 1 day, 20 hours, and 45 minutes remaining), the total is 401,023,404.

When you tap on the band and use a Musical Note to start crafting a Sheet Music, does the usual queue appear? For this particular event, the way to upgrade the band is by Unlocking a new slot in the queue, like with regular crafting buildings (which usually use nails and wood and such), only for this event you need Subwoofers, Microphones, and Soundproof Beams to unlock each new slot.

Unfortunately, Android users won't be able to see their progress toward the Community Rewards, but if the community reaches the requirements, Android users will receive the items in their Storage. :) Sorry for any confusion!

As an Android player, if I didn't know about this forum I wouldn't know about the community prizes and would have stopped playing after updating the band price. (Exactly what happened with one of my friends until I told her to keep going).
Storm8 should consider making this game as similar for everybody as they can. That way nobody misses out on anything.

My microphone drop rate was terrible, didn?t get to finish, I had at 1 point 30 speakers and 9 microphones, I only just got to upgrade my band to level 4 this morning, I really can?t understand why we can?t help/be helped by neighbors, the only reason I can think is they don?t want everyone to finish,

As events go, it wasn't a bad one. Perhaps the one snag is that many of the players who have been playing for a while didn't bother reading the details and got lost trying to figure out how to upgrade the band, since the upgrade process was different from previous events. But that was our fault for making an assumption and not reading carefully.

The prizes were okay, but I think the Spotlights were a miss. Everything else focused around music in some way, but in my opinion the Spotlights didn't really fit in. There's a Player Piano whose musical score spins, and a Record Player that puts out notes. The Spotlights just...are. Perhaps if they put out a smallish beam or glowed or changed color, it might fit better. On the other hand, maybe something else--not sure what, exactly, maybe a topiary bush that depicted musical symbols--more obviously connected to music would have been a more appropriate option.

Maybe the Dancing Chicken could have been a pair (or had a second one available for sale in the Market once the first had been obtained). A single dancing chicken looks a bit out-of-place, but if there were two of them, they could at least appear to be dancing together.

The drop rate was okay, overall. After some initial difficulty obtaining Musical Notes, they started dropping more regularly. I know others had issues with the drop rate of upgrade parts, but by spending a lot of coins buying items from neighbors, the newspaper, and random farms I visited, I was able to send out enough deliveries to earn sufficient upgrade parts.

I know some players didn't participate because there wasn't a pet as a prize along the way, which is fine. As much as I enjoy winning new pets, I can't really think of any pets that would fit the music theme, short of putting a dog, cat, or pony into a costume and calling it "Rock 'n' roll Dog" (or cat or pony)...which might have been nice, but still a bit odd.

The time needed to craft Mix Tapes and Soundproof Beams was doable, and overall everything was much more reasonable than the previous event (which demanded so much time of the Bakery and the Chocolatier).

I had fun with this one. Thanks to the person who kept us Androiders updated on the community prize progress! I'm glad there wasn't a pet. I think there are already too many pets. I like just regular challenges too and pets should be special. Too many pets makes it cheesy and takes the excitement out of it. I loved the prizes in this one. Very cute and fit in nicely with the farm. ....except Piper's club. That one was weird and large but not to scale and didn't really match the whole vibe. That prize probably would have been better suited as a second dancing chicken in a different color or maybe a dancing pig. Someone for our little chicken to have as a dance partner. Cuz he's kind of lonely out there all by himself LOL

The prizes are very nice but I do hope you can make the band animated without touching it.
I think you set the bar a little too low.
Last prize should of been more sheet music then 1550 sheets.
The drop rate for plane deliveries was fair but would of liked to perhaps have some of the event items coming from maybe orange trees and/or sheep, etc.
I would of bought another dancing chicken from the market if offered.
That chicken was a hit with the player piano and RECORD PLAYER too.

The VERY BEST was that once i had a few slots In the band I was able to fill it with tapes and have a rest.
No having to collect every two hours. Players in the USA and perhaps other countries have better data plans on cell phones.
In Canada data stinks so basically I have to use wifi and be at home or find a hotspot like McDonald's.
With the way you did this event I was able to fill the band with tapes and not worry ... 14 hours
Could even sleep and not set alarm every two hours...a huge thank you.
The Extra Boom Box was not required because you made the time one hour there so basically the original Boom Box was never full because two hours time required in the Band.
That was likely an error on your part.

As for players being able to sell to neighbours I can understand why you don't.
You are selling parts for dollars so why would one allow parts in stores at three cents.

I am happy though even if they are invisible we are allowed to dump extra parts so barns don't get clogged up.

Go to the item an press down on it and you should see the following picture.
Now you can put it in storage by pressing green arrow going into the cellar
Rotate it
Or sell it for dollars

I really liked this event. Loved the music theme, but I don't like yellow, so all the yellow decor is eh. But that's my weirdness, the concept was great. The drop rate was reasonable to me. I was able to buy what I needed to send the deliveries I couldn't reasonably craft, while still making money from trains and sold items. I am in the minority on this, but I didn't like the dancing chicken cuz he won't stop moving. It's basically the same reason I don't like the conductor character, she has this affect about her as she moves that just bothers me, and that chicken movement without stopping bothers me. So, I stored him. I would have liked him more if he could somehow be turned on and off, or moved for like five or 10 minutes once tapped. but so many people love him, so clearly a good decoration.

I love the pets :-). But I don't mind decorations!

In the future, I'd like more path squares than just five or six.

I do love the player piano and Victrola! I always play with the sound off, but I turned it on to see if they make noise. Was there any music from any of the prizes?
